There was a Harry Potter story on fanfiction.net that I wanted to read that I didn't realize was slash and I read it and then I just couldn't stop reading that stuff. I'm addicted to it now.

Same here. I didn't know what it was and now I love them and write them myself.

I found out about it when it started exploding in the Harry Potter Fanfic sites. Frankly, (since I was about eleven at the time) I was creeped by it, but now I'm semi-addicted. xd

I still find the majority of HP slash creepy (actually, I find a lot of non-slash HP creepy too), with the sole exception of Remus/ Sirius. I don't really like shota or non-con, and the whole "they hate each other and therefore must want to screw passionately" thing (Draco/Harry for this fandom) has never worked well for me. I guess I'm boring...I tend to like my slash canon friendly.

Well, yeah. But I hate that kind of shota, non-con thing, too. I only read the soncentual ones. And my favorites are Harry/Draco (since it was the first one I found) and Sirius/Remus (I read ALOT of that). Sirius/Remus is lovely. It's really the only pairing you can make without sending the book's storyline out the window.

Hmmm... Ronin Warriors (Samurai Troopers Yoroiden). I was looking up info on the net, and stumbled upon a Touma/Seiji site. That was about 4 years ago. Then, it was GW. One of my favorite fic sites is 1x2x1.org. For awhile, I just stuck with reading the things I knew, and didn't branch out in search of new pairings or anything. I became VERY addicted when, while searching for pics, I dicovered Gravitation. That was about two years ago. Since then, I've never looked back. smile

You'd think there'd already be this thread....but when was your first time reading yaoi or slash? Mine was POTC slash, and that was about....well, about two months after the movie hit theaters. My first shounen-ai was Eerie Queerie, and my first actual yaoi was FAKE. Yours?

Accidentally found yaoi online while looking up the meaning of the word with a friend. Came across my favorite site to this day. The Yaoi Shrine!! Of course it's been taken offline now... crying I WANT MY SHRINE BACK!! First yaoi site I ever found, and it was the best I'd ever found to this day...

So that's why could never find it again. crying Wants it back too!

Ceres_3LD

Though the fic sites are awesome as well. heart
Anyways... It freaked us out at first but it was YYH yaoi with Kurama/Hiei and, what can I say? I was a curious 11 year old. sweatdrop

You found Kurama/Hiei?! Where? Gimme link... please....?

My first slash: A picture Seto Kaiba/Joey Wheeler of Yugi-oh, Joey sitting between his legs and reaching up to clutch Seto's coat lapels... The energy of grabbed hold of me. Talking to my friend Rei, who isn't a fan but open-minded enough not to go: eeewww to Yaoi, helped me to define the feeling it gave - If I trust you don't let go of me.

*flushes crimson* Meow. I feel like that alot. And it's still my desktop background.

Oh gosh, my first intro to yaoi. Well actually my best friend started talking to me about it, and I figured it sounded to cute to pair off all these guys with other guys in anime. My first ever pairing, though, was actually Kai and Wyatt from Beyblade o.O I saw an episode of V-Force where there seemed to be quite a lot of emotion from Kai when he was talking about Wyatt (if you have no clue what I'm talking about, I suggest you look up this episode. It's called "Ghost in the Machine"). I got hooked from then on. it went from Beyblade, to Yu-Gi-Oh, to Gundam Wing, to Gravitation and FAKE, then tons more anime that I could spend hours listing. But... yea... that's about it really.

Who knew Beyblade would actually inspire my love for yaoi? 3nodding

I was four years old and I saw Rocky Horror Picture show and mom told me about Yaoi. She said it two gay guys dating each other. My mom is gay so she was cool with me getting into it. The other was when I started to really get into anime when I turned 12, I was on the internet and typed in Akira and accidently added a 'y' and a space between the two and yaoi was everywhere. I deffeintly say that did it for me. Now I write extreme yaoi and am other wise known as the Yaoi Goddess of the juinors in Oak Park High. Kinda sad but I love the yaoi fangirls mail they send....it's so funny. heart

...My first encounter? Oh Lord, I don't even remember now. All I know is that I was thirteen when my friend told me about shounen-ai, and I said, "Ewww!" And everything went downhill when I found janime.net and all the pretty slashy pictures that were there. *sigh* I don't remember when I stopped thinking it was gross, and started thinking it was hot. I don't remember my first favorite pairing (though it was probably Bakura/ Ryou, since that was one thing I obsessed about a lot), but I remember my first slash fanfic was written by samurai-ashes on fanfiction.net. I don't remember which one of hers I read first, but I remember reading them all really quickly and thinking, "I have got to get more of this!" And then I discovered Gravitation...

Now I am going to turn sixteen in three months. I download yaoi manga from sakura-crisis.net to feed my obsession. I read six books of Gravitation as scans, and got hooked forever. There are really very few things that squick me anymore. I've seen it all, read it all, and all of it's hot. XD

I have a nagging feeling that I have posted in this thread before, but I don't see my post, so maybe I didn't. O_o

my first yaoi manga was Eerie Queerie. I didn't really know about the uh...gayness i guess...at first, but it got really good. i just wanted to read it because my best friend pointed out that Hasunuma's a** looked like a woman's and I was like..... eek ...."WTF, WOMAN???? WHY ARE YOU LOOKING THE--oh my god, you're right.... eek "
and then I started reading Gravitation which she said I couldn't handle, so I made my friend Patrick let me borrow it. And it turns out the woman was right. I had to force myself to stare at each picture of Yuki and Shuichi kissing for five minutes before I was even CLOSE to getting used to it. (although, for some odd reason I didn't mind Hiro kinda' like...I dun'no, it's been a while...nibbling on Shuichi's ear or somethin' in the first manga.)
After that though, it was all good.

First encounter with yaoi was with Gundam Wing. I wanted to read my favorite character, Duo, and well...he's paired with a LOT of guys. smile It started with the major one: Heero, and then progressed to Zechs and then to a threesome. And it all went out from there. I couldn't get enough. It was probably a good thing that my first yaoi fanfiction was so beautifully written that I couldn't stop reading more of its ilk. Had it been poorly written, I probably would now run and hide from yaoi and slash. Ah well, c'est la vie.

My first encounter with yaoi or any of the others, was when I first started to read gundam wing fanfiction. After that I was hooked, and that was almost a year ago.
