You two are getting famous for taking each others words the wrong way. Gash, I may be wrong, but I think what Jareth is saying is that, being used to YGO systems, it might be a bit hard for you to get into DM.
YGO is based on speed and luck, mostly. Duel Masters and Magic: The Gathering are more about skill and balance. I'd say that I'm not dissing YGO, but finally, I must admit that I am. It just isn't that good or that fun anymore. The bans won't help either, but to explain why would take a very long time.
Maybe I'll write a DM article about it...

i have to agree YGO relies a little on luck, i have a friend who for some reason, always has a crap hand, where talking 2 lv 5+ monster, and the rest are magic/trap (none of them pot of greed, graceful charity, or swords of revealing light...etc) yet half the time she can really kick your a** in the end sweatdrop
oh if yer still wondering whats the logic in the banning of dark hole? let me put it this way, how many ppl do you know that has a deck without a dark hole? or even change of heart? upperdeck is finding almost every YGO deck has a dark hole, pot of greed, raigeki, change of heart, mirror force...etc so they are banning them to get pple to make decks so there more different and no revolving around the same bunch of cards...that and you have to admit chaos emperor dragon is on the cheesy side sweatdrop

if your not entirely convinced its luck, there is always the aspect of brilliant deck creations...what i mean is you need at least 40 cards, out of the billions out there, u need to pick the exact # of cards, which cards, find the combos, what goes with what, and limit bunky-junky cards that dont do much for you...if done correctly basicly luck will have little to do with it.....since im not THAT good at making decks, im on to luck haha
hehe i betcha upperdeck put on the ban list after they realized "oh hey every kids gonna have a change of heart now that there in starter decks"...but still it is refreshing to not worry about a mirror force 3nodding

Well, Change of Heart has always been in the Yugi Starter deck. As far as I know it was used an awful lot no matter where you were.
Gash, from what I learnt, there are certain cards that go into most YGO decks now. It is easy to tell you what they are, too. Open your YVD. Check the list of things that are restricted to one. If it destroys Monsters, Spells or Trap, add it. If it is a Dark monster, add it. Then add three Archfiend Soldiers and three Don Zaloog.
Then add Monster Reborn, Call of the Haunted, Change of Heart and Yata-Garasu. If you like, you can use three Different Dimension Warrior Lady and add the Chaos Emperor Dragon.
That's your standard YGO deck-base, I think. In fact, it might be your standard YGO deck altogether.

yup yup, i used to go to a loca tournament in my area, every deck i fought was very much the same, all had change of heart, pot of greed, dark hole, raikeki, mirror force, chaos emperor dragon, ring of destruction and so forth, and they were all build on those cards, as in fill it in with beefy 1900 lv. 4 monsters, and just smash u up

Is it me. Or is YGO trying to compete now with level up monsters?
