Those words Kim spoke as she blew out her candles.. struck him deeply and he melted. His paws continued massaging another few moments and then they slid down her body as he leaned against her backside, giving a bold kiss to her cheek once more.
Jordan held his cheek to hers and closed his eyes, huolding her snugly. He shivered at the thought he'd won her over completely and that made him happy. The course of events had just happened and here he was, throwing a party for such a wonderful woman. He didn't have to say a thing. He felt so close to her. He wanted to be with her. He was so smitten with puppy love.
"I'm so glad you're enjoying the party and your presents. It makes me happy to see your beautiful smile. I hope you can enjoy a love-struk dog just as much as I do for you." he whispered softly, rubbing the back of a fluffy paw on her cheek. He couldn't hide the feelings back. Even if she had known, he'd feel wkward if he didn't express the way he felt. "The day we met.. was intense. And we held one another on the beach.. watching the sun dance on the waves." he rubbed his paws down her sides and held onto her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "I hope I'm not out of line for feeling this way or for planning this special day for you."

Everything was going fast... almost too fast. Spiraling out of her control, even if she still had problems believing it. This island... There where so many girls here, all prettier, better, not as shy... Why her, then ?
But what if she didn't care why ? And what if she didn't want to think of the possibility of another. He had been here for her, at her best and at her worst. But still, as he spoke, as he admitted his own feelings, she found herself speechless.
She had loved, once. But then, she wasn't loved back, and she had given up. But then, what did it matter here, on this island, away from everyone she once knew ? It was useless to live in a past she couldn't go back to, right ?
Still not saying a thing, she moved, slowly, until the tip of her beak reached his lips. This was the closest thing to a "true" kiss she could manage without twisting her head too awkwardly. Her first kiss. The adrenaline rush was amazing, and when she finally figured out what exactly she had just done, her face reddened and her face lowered a bit torward the rest of her body as her neck folded upon itself a bit, her own way to attempt to hide a blush. Had she... really just done that ?!

He’d been taking this so fast, possibly far too fast. But look at what he’d accomplished for overcoming his shyness for the cause. He’d achieved the successful mission to get closer to her. These new feelings that told him he wanted to be near her, to hold her closely like thy did on the beach.. they were overpowering.
This was right. He wanted this and he hoped that she wanted this as well. Before his racing mind could flood him with more of these thoughts, she’d turned and kissed him on the lips. It caught him off guard and he blushed deeply. He held her close as she did and he kissed her in return, tilting his head to the side so that he could kiss her directly upon her lips. The spark was there. This was right.
Jordan stepped back from the birthday girl, holding her hand as he helped her to her feet. He smiled at Maryke for all her help as he held Kim tightly in his arms. “Thank you for coming, Maryke, Sophie.” He nuzzled through Kim’s black hair. “It meant a lot.”
Jordan smiled wonderously into Kim’s beautiful eyes. “It’s been a great afternoon, but I think we need to retreat into a more private atmosphere. Neither of us are exactly the most social of party animals and all the excitement has me yearning for a quiet rest with a special someone.” He squeezed Kim gently around her torso, hugging the pterodactyl against his front. .

It was nice to see that Kim was enjoying the party, the present, and everything else: it was a good thing among everything Sophie heard about death and disaster and any other sort of dismay, and it made her feel good somewhere inside to watch her be close to Jordan, to snuggle up against the dog-man in the awkward way that made Sophie somehow think that she'd lost that kind of innocence along the way.
Maybe that's what made her feel so lost, then: she felt like she didn't belong here, never mind the fact that she'd decorated and hollered out the first 'Happy Birthday'. It didn't matter that Jordan had accepted her as a member of the Island and that she'd pretty much settled in. She just...didn't belong there. Pure and simple. In all that happiness and purity, she wasn't supposed to be among the people involved.
"No problem, Jordan," she said, offering a thumbs up and a smile, but the moment he looked away, the smile faded, and she began looking for the door.
In order not to be rude, she simply slipped away from all the action and excitement, looking over the Duplex information before making her way to the door, taking one final look at the party before heading back to her duplex. She had some things she had to take care of, anyways.

Kim just nodded. All those emotions did have her pretty tired, anyway. Rest seemed like a good thing. Right now... nothing really mattered, beyond being with him some more. She took the Wii along, but forgot all about the cake as the two lovebirds made their way out.

He'd become so infatuated with Kim that Jordan wanted her all to himself for the rest of the day. All that mattered was being with her and making/keeping her happy. His arm remained around her backside, gently stroking the length of her back and scritching carefully with canine claws. Jordan laid his head on her shoulder as they walked along. He was totally smitten and her big fluffy puppy to love and cherish and in-turn he would do the same. Ah, to be young and in love.
