It's just something they've never seen before. Most people where I live don't even know they sell these things at our Barnes & Noble and think I'm importing them from Japan directly. eek

Konoha`s Copy-Nin Being 23, I get the question of "Why are you still reading comics?" then they realize that it's backwards and wonder what the book is and how I'm able to read it like that. Personally I don't mind answering the questions, until like the opening message says and they ask you over and over. I've been reading manga for so long that I flip through magazines and text books from right to left. Same here. I get that question a lot from my friends that don't read comics. They're like: "You're 20 and still watch cartoons AND read comics?" I wonder why they don't just leave me alone about it? xp Dude, I even flip through books and mags backwards too. It's just a weird habit. xd

I don't really get asked anything about manga because I explain it before I'm asked. Usually I get weird looks when I explain the character's personalities.

Most of my manga have the thing in the back that shows you how to read it right to left so if I ever get asked that question I just show the person the back and they stop asking me why the book is like that. ninja

it gets very very annoying. almost all of the kids who didnt read manga would ask why it was backwards. it pissed me off so much. eventually, they stopped asking.

i can honestly agree that it is SO ANNOYING when people take my bomber girl manga bacause as you know with bomber girl, its all revealing. i got suspended because my teacher was a prude and she l;ooked at it when it was not in my possesion

They do not understand simply because it's not something that alot of people are exposed to on a regular basis,so it's often out of simple curiousity,ofcourse when they ask questions over and over and over,it does slightly irratate me.I've actually found alot of the older people are the ones who ask the most.The younger teenagers are the rude ones "OMG what is that??That's stupid!Your a nerd!Are you reading that japanese porn?!That's gross!"even though it's not porn ofcourse sad

lol I HATE it when people ask that question. I actually had that question asked last week, and I was like "Yes, for the last time, THE BOOKS READ BACKWARDS!!!". Then I got asked "Why?".
I was like xp .

Yeah. It annoys me to no end. My older sister had picked up my Ouran manga, and opened it then said. "Why is this book backwards?" I just bluntly replied "Because it was made that way." I got in trouble too. Something about being rude, and being asked a question is a very natural thing.(my pet peeve is people asking me questions more than once in one day, but it doesn't annoy me when my parents do it). Well anywho. Sometimes when random people ask me that question I sometimes reply with that answer or a question to counter that one. "Why do Americans have to super size everything aka Americanize things." Which totally piss them off. 3nodding

In my vet. class, there's a blonde/redheard(<-- cuz its like a light redish/bloonde kinda thing) girl that sits diagonally from me. She is CONSTANTLY asking me why the books are backwards. One day, a few weeks ago, I handed her the book and said "Because if you read it the 'right' way it wouldn't make sense." So she took the book and started reading it from left to right. I was like " stare Read it backwards, it'll make sense." So she tried to read it and read the first page and said "It's so confusing!! How can you read it like this?!" I took the book from her, opened to my page, and kept reading...
...she still bugs me about it.
The book was Ouran High School... the 1st page of vol. 1 isn't that hard to read! I mean seriously, how hard is it to read this?

i hate that question D< with a dispising passion. D< just because its backward it doesnt mean you need to get all excited over that fact D< it annoying.

It's very annoying! My clasmate said " You read it backwards? It's really stupid!!!". I was so angry at her! People often ask me "Why do you read it backwards?" ant they are looking at me as if I was not normal.

i wore a naruto headband tied to my leg today and this guy next to me kept asking the people around them what it was but none of them knew.....he wouldnt ask me directly....so when he left one of the people he asked, asked me what it was and i told her i was a ninja.....
............yeah......its an otogakure head band talk2hand
