Barnes & Nobles.
I don't know what a real borders is like, but our borders near my house is a dinky store in the mall. They don't even have a manga section.

I like Borders because it's closer to my home, they offer better discounts to their members, and their rewards program doesn't charge you yearly.
That doesn't mean I don't have Barnes & Nobles card; I do. They were the only bookstore at the mall I previously worked at. I'm also slightly frustrated they forced the Borders at the larger mall out of business.

A real borders has a music section... But I digress. I ;ove Waldenbooks because I find really good stuff there. Like my mom's day gift of a D&D dragon miniature. Or really good manga. ((Negima! whee ))

((Negima! whee )) Oh! Waldenbooks! I'd forgotten all about them. That was the last bookstore in my old neighborhood that I could walk to. They closed down shortly after I could afford to buy my own books. However, I have a Borders close to my new apartment.

Borders.
I have nothing against Barnes and Nobles, I've just gone to Borders all the time, so it's familiar territory for me.

I love both of them, but Borders is cheaper BY FAR for the same book. And Barnes is pretty far away from me.
But Barnes has a better selection, so I go to barnes.

I like both bookstores but Borders does have a better manga selection. Lately thought I've been buying more manga off Amazon because I could get them cheaper even with shipping added on. Barnes and Noble is closer to my house and I usually go either each week or bi weekly.

I prefer Borders (and not just because I work there now). The Barnes & Noble in my area is located in one of the most inconvenient spots possible, and their selection just isn't that great. Plus, the ladies working at Borders were much nicer. And still are. I have great coworkers. heart

Barens & Noble since the Borders in my town is small and located in the mall. If I just want to get a book I don't want to search for a parking spot for an hour. My town's B&N also has a bigger and better manga section. Our Borders rarely has the first volume of most mangas. But my opinion might change when I get out of this hellhole town.

I love them both, but I would have to go with Barnes and Nobels. It has a bigger manga section and a place for you to sit and read it. Plus I can usually find what I'm looking for their. Sometimes the book I'm looking for isn't at Borders. And their both about the same distance from where I live. Plus Barnes and Nobels is bigger which = more books! mrgreen

Borders is less than 2 miles from my house (and so is the Waldenbooks/"Borders Express in the mall)...but I keep getting Barnes gift cards from people, even though there isn't one anywhere near me.

Borders to go in and buy, Barnes & Nobles to browse, take my time and enjoy the book-hunting experience.
