Nah Lex is kool they proberly won't kill him off till the very end of Smallville and when they do it will be the biggest death scene you have ever seen.

he cant be killed in smallville, because then it wouldnt make sense with the superman stories xp

Ok now in Smallville any charcter can be killed of as its not apart of the main Superman time line this means that its about Superman yes but they can do what ever they want
