When all three children entered the room they found someone they did not recognize there. From the markings on his cheeks it was obvious he was an Inuzuka.
"Who the hell are you?" Riku asked bluntly while sitting down. This question was answered by a glare from their mother and a whack in back of the head with a wooden spoon. Aryza giggled but then stopped when the women glared at her as well.
"Please excuse my childrens manners" she began to apologize. "Children this is Kai." Once she introduced him she pointed at each of her children starting from the oldest. "My son Riku, and the oldest, then its Juni and the youngest Aryza." Seeing a piece of paper in Riku's hands she snatched it before anyone could do anything about it. "Whats this," she asked Riku curious if he had gotten in trouble again.
"It's Aryzas she got in trou....OW." Riku began to explain then yelled out as aryzas foot made contact with his shin.
"WHAT have i said about you kicking each other at the table!?" The woman was beginning to forget they even had a visitor. Her mood then changed again and she directed herself to Aryza. "Mind saying what this is dear?"
Aryza shook her head. "Its a letter from the academy stating that I'll be taking the next genin exams." The room fell silent for a while. Her father who had been this whole time reading a newspaper and the end of the table finally glanced over it. Her older brother blinked and gagged a bit. Her mother and sister smiled.
"Congratulations dear."

"Congratulations Aryza-chan," Kai stated with a smile after her mother had congratulated her daughter. "Good luck in the exams. If you need any coaching, I'd be happy to help."

Aryza's mother brought the last of the food to the table. One by one she dished out everyone a portion and they began eating. the smell of food filled the room. It smelt really good. Aryza didn't hesitate in starting to eat. She was famished from working so hard all day long. Thinking no one was watching she grabbed a bit of her meat putting it underneath the table. Out of all of the family dogs her wolf was the smallest. Small enough to hide underneath the table. if her mother saw this she'd get scolded but the woman seemed occupied with the visitor.
"How have you been doing Kai? Its been a while," Aryza's father asked finally saying something. he watched through the corner of his eye his youngest childs movements. So Kuroi was under the table again.

Kai kept his smile up as Aryza's mother served the food and for good reason. The food smelled really good, much better than the curry in Iwa and the rations they'd had to survive on the way back to Konoha. And the instant noodles he'd subsisted on since his return. Oh, home-cooked food, how could he have ever lived without you? A small movement caught his eye and he watched Aryza feed her dog stealthily. At least he guessed that was what she was doing. It would be kind of rude to check. From the glint in Aryza's father's eye, he knew that he'd seen it too, and since he didn't seem to object Kai kept quiet.
"I've been good," he finally said. "I've been living in my apartment for a while. Umm.. long story," he hastily said before he was asked why he was living there in the first place. It wasn't that he didn't want to say it, but it really was a long story. "But then my landlady's patience ran out, since I didn't exactly tell her I was leaving the apartment for two years." Kai gave a shrug. "Um, I had an assignment with my team to travel the world." Pretty much. "I didn't tell her I was back, either, so when she found out the door was locked, she wasn't too happy and neither was the new tenant-wannabe..." Kai gave a lopsided smile. "So she kicked me out. But yeah. What about you and your family?" Kai said politely. "This food is great by the way!"

Aryza's father laughed. "Kicked out eh? Well it seems you've been busy over the years." he didn't question more. If Kai wasn't saying anything more it was for a reason. Besides he probably already knew the reason not only from old stories but from the fact he was around 20 years older then him. Though it was hard to keep track of every Inuzuka's life.
"Thank you Kai," the woman thanked. Something soft and furry touched her leg. "Arzya! Kuroi's under the table again isn't he."
Aryza jumped hearing her mother. "wh...wh...what!? Of course not." Riku smirked a a bit.
Her mother raised her eyebrows at her. "oh really then what just brushed against my leg?"
Kuroi indeed had brushed against the ladies leg. He was circling around underneath the table. When she called out to his owner it scared the cub causing him to bump into Kai's legs.

Kai chuckled as the pup brushed against his legs. "Yes, I guess I have," he confessed to Aryza's father whilst bending down to lift Kuroi up. "Kuroi!" he admonished the pup teasingly, moving away from the table. He didn't really want dog hair in his food! "You don't spend dinner here, you spend it outside with the other dogs," he told the pup, setting him down gently in the doorway of the dinner table. "Mawagi is out there so if you're bored you can go talk to her." As he said that, he looked to Aryza, silently asking for her approval. Kuroi was her dog after all. Even if he wasn't supposed to be here.

Kuroi understood what was going on. He was getting kicked out. Whimpering a bit he gazed up and Aryza with big green eyes as if to say 'please let me stay'. It didn't work though. If it had been up to Aryza he could've stayed but the way her mother glared at her said other wise. Slowly he made his way outside but just before he left their sight he made sure to turn his head around gazing at the group with what seemed to be very sad eyes.
Aryza looked at Kuroi. She didn't have the heart to send him outside but with her mother glaring at her she knew she couldn't. Eventually he got it and left. Sighing she stared down at her plate. Her older brother snickered which resulted in getting a kick from her. He didn't cry out or show any indication that she had done so.

Hehe... Kai watched the pup leave feeling extremely guilty (damn, that pup was good) before forcing himself to turn back to the food. He returned to the dining table and resumed eating, after wiping his hands clean of any dog hair first of course. The family seemed to have become a little quieter after the whole scene and Kai felt a little uncomfortable, so he decided to start some conversation. "So Aryza... you're an academy student, aren't you? I used to teach in the academy," Kai said with a grin. "Maybe I know your teacher. What about you two?" he asked Riku and Juni. "Are you genin?"

Aryza just as he asked the question had a fork full of food in her mouth. Quickly she swallowed it. She nodded. "My teacher is Yarotai." Being short her feet didn't fully touch the ground so she swung them back and forth.
Juni nodded. "Yes I'm a gennin."
Riku laughed. "HA! You think I'm a miserable genin!? I'm a chunin," he replied a bit pridefully but in a choking manner. Thsi resulted in kicks from both sisters.
"Put a sock in it."
"CHILDREN" the mother Inuzuka called out raising her voice just enough to bring back order to the table. Seeing that they were finished with the main meal she began to pick up the plates. "Juni, Aryza help me take the plates to the kitchen." Both girls got up and did as she said. "Would any one like dessert?" This question was mainly towards Kai the visitor.

Yarotai made his way up to and into the outer portions of the Inuzuka Compound and was greeted by growling dogs. Those with the dogs seemed to be growling too but that was expected of the clan. The chuunin cast a few smiles, shook hands with a couple of people he knew, and received information on where to go to check up on his student. As he came closer to a certain home a rather familiar ball of fuzz bounced into his leg. The moment he looked down at the dog it flipped to its back and stared up at him. The young man wasted no time in scooping the pup up and tossing it from one arm to the other as he walked. When he finally came to the door he set the dog down and glanced over his shoulder at a few still growling hounds. Fortuneately they weren't barking.
"Well Kur you're not allowed inside. I'm no clansmen but I know that much."
He gave the door three sharp raps before turning to look back at the larger dogs behind him. They were definately closer.

Kai nodded as Aryza spoke. "I don't know him," he said to Aryza. "He's gotta be a great teacher though, to get you up to genin level so quickly. Unlocking your potential and all that." He finished his meal quickly as he heard Juni and Riku talk, a pacifying smile on his face. "Of course, that's very good," he said to Riku, not really in any respectful tone but more of a wise and understanding tone. He supposed everybody had to go through this stage in life. "I could train you too, Riku-kun," he offered, "but only at night. I've been given a team assignment due to start tomorrow," he revealed to the table cheerfully. Earlier, he had been given the files of his new students and had been planning to review them in-depth tonight. "Too bad they couldn't wait a bit longer and assign you to me Aryza-chan," he said honestly. He really liked her and she looked very hardworking and with good potential. "And yes I would love to have dessert. I hope me being here today isn't too much of a hassle," Kai apologised. The sounds of growling from outside were gradually increasing, and soon enough there were a few knocks on the door, but it wasn't Kai's place to go open them: at least not without asking. He merely looked towards the door and back, querying, "Mind if I go get the door, obasan?"

Aryza when Kai commented about Yarotai's teaching ability coughed to herself. The truth was she hadn't been in the Academy when she was supposed to. She had ran off in the middle. Hopefully no one would find out. Leaving the room with her sister Juni they went to help their mother. hearing the knock on the door she began to wonder just who it could be. She hear Kai offer to go answer it and her father giving him permission
( sorry for so short my mom needs the net right now )

Since he had gotten approval Kai went ahead and answered the door. He still wasn't really used to this whole family thing and wasn't sure how polite he needed to be with people who were basically his distant relatives. Still, he figured that it was better to be overly polite than to be considered rude. Ah well.
He opened the door to see a young, professional looking man just a bit shorter than him. "Hush guys," Kai instructed the growling dogs since this guy didn't look to be too much of a threat. "Who are you?" Kai asked Yarotai bluntly before remembering his manners. "I'm Inuzuka Kai," he said while stepping backwards into the room. "Come in. Well actually I'm a guest at the moment too. But whatever." Kai gave a sheepish shrug that didn't actually explain anything. Well, he had never been the best at polite social interactions.

Yarotai smiled back at Kai and held up a hand in acknowledgement as the man offered for him to enter the home. He stepped in as soon as the way was open in order to put some distance and a door between him and the dogs.
"Miharo Yarotai. I'm Aryza's teacher. Well I guess I would be if she was ever in class. Is she home?"
The chuunin reached into his vest and produced the envelope that he had carried over. He had hoped that someone a bit less masculine would have answered the door. However it was what it was and there wasn't anything he could do about it at that point. He was a bold man but he wasn't so forward as to simply blurt out, 'Where all the white women at?'

Kai nodded in recognition. "Ohh...! You're Yarotai!" he said. "Aryza-chan told me about you," he clarified with a smile, tucking in the small nugget of info about Aryza never actually being class for future use if necessary. Normally he would try to make small talk with the guy, but he was in a foreign environment at the moment, and well, Yarotai wasn't looking too at ease at the moment either. Kai suspected it was the dogs, and also suspected that Yarotai would have preferred a female to answer the door.
"Yeah, we're having dinner," Kai told Yarotai as he led him into the dining room. "I think Aryza is in the back doing the dishes... Obasan, ojisan, I'm back," he said to Aryza's parents. "I think you know Miharo-san...?"
