"That shows that you don't know what you've gotten yourself into here." Quickpaw explained. "A Scarab's blood can become poisonous if too much of it gets into your bloodstream."

"Well, I wasn't bleeding when we were killing them. This happened before." Kray says. He looks down at the cut, checking it to make sure it is still clean. Of course it would be a surprise if he was clean to begine with. Dust covers his body, staining his cloths.
Thier blood is poisoniuos, interesting. I wonder why?

Shi asked. The scrape looked small, but any injury could easily become infected around here.

"Before the fight. I was looking though the ruins over there. Then I heard you guys fighting and decided to assist you." Kray just shrugs his shoulder. "Is he going to be OK? That wound looks bad." He points to the lizard person. (Correct me if I am wrong.)

While the others was arguing Skah took off his light Federation body armour, revealing a rather nasty wound. He bled red, like most humanoid species. He done some basic survival training, and knew that the wound had to be cleansed propperly. Not because of Scarab poisons, just because reptillian races were more probable to become infected when it came to cuts. The skin around the wound was badly torn, and wouldn't heal correctly if it was left in this state, so he ran his claw along the dead-ends of the torn skin and peeled them off, leaving two straighter, cleaner edges.
"Alright, stitch me up and lets get a move on. I don't like the idea of more Scarabs coming... I hear they eat their dead!"... The point about the Scarab eating their dead was an urban legend, it hadn't been proven, and if it was, the masses never really heard about it in full. Regardless of fact or fiction, the idea of more coming was unsettling to him since he was half naked in Sector 9.
As the kid spoke about him, Skah hissed to himself and then again provided his own, probably unwanted, opinion.
"Listen pinkie, if yous a bit of the Scarab blood in you, I suggest propper treatment. Otherwise, they might have to take your leg off." he chortled as he continued... "But the poison doesn't stop in one place, I hear it spreads like the Ardoch Plague, I've saw a lot of sorry looking people who didn't clean up after being splashed with Scarab juice... besides, that one ontop of you got pumped full of holes, I'm pretty sure you got covered in crap. I can smell them on you." his tongue flicked out between his teeth, and he let out a soft, yet menacing hiss.

"Well, I think you are worse off than I am, and there for should be taken care of first. A good shower should do me fine." Kray doesn't seem to take the threat of having his leg removed seriously.
"You need me to sow you up? My fingers are fairly nimble."

"Skah, quit arguing with the civilian..." Night said, speaking calmly yet with authority. He wrapped several layers of the bandaging around Skah's stomache and a small portion of his chest, just enough to cover the wound; he hadn't brought a lot of bandages, and he wasn't really skilled in medical feilds. "Skah's got a point, Krayton." He said. "A Scarab pretty much exploded over you. So we need to end this patrol early to get you two checked out." He walked over to Krayton. "And you," he said, "stop making this harder for us..."
Quickpaw moved hir hair behind hir cat-like ears to show the microphone end of a uni-com link. " Medical Lt. Quickpaw to base," shi said, "we need a dropship brought down to the plaza in New Gettysburg, Sector 9." Shi looked around at the people around hir before speaking again. "Space for two 'taurs, one Rotian, and a Human. We also need medical assistance a.s.a.p. We've got two wounded soldiers, one minor-yet may be infected- and one major."

"Making things harder on you? How am I doing that? And I am not really injured, it is only a scratch I got well before the fight." Krayton just replies nonchalontly to the responses of the soldiers around him.

"You're arguing with my soldier." Night said. "You don't know what you're doing out here." He looked down at Krayton's leg. "If you scraped that leg on a peice of rubble that a Scarab, who might have touched a bleeding coarpse, touched; then you'd be infected..." He folded his arms. "A Scarab's blood is filled with a variety of acidic compounds and deadly chemicals. If you don't get vaccinated quickly, then in short: it'd be like getting a hole punched through your chest and ribs and getting rocks dropped on your organs."
Quickpaw walked over to Night. "Good news," shi said, covering the uni-com with hir hair again, "there was already a dropship in this area that had been dropping off a platoon on the far side of the city. It should be here in about two to three minutes."

"Correction, you don't know what I am doing here. I guess you may like to know about the other refugees, survivors that are scattered through out the sector then? You are the first to actually try and evacuate me so far." Kray looks at what he assumes to be the commander of this outfit.

Skah hurriedly pulled his armoured vest back on, then regards the boy. "We're soldiers, not 'agony aunts', if you have a map you can show us the location of your refugee hold-out, and we'll talk to command." he looked at his commander and nodded, assuring himself they'd do the right thing. It he could already hear the dropship closing in, so he threw a smoke-beacon on the ground, it rolled a little then stood up on it's own pointing up, then a stream of yellow smoke drifted up skyward, to signal the tactical personelle carrier to their exact location.

"They wonder around, looking for food and supplies. I don't know where they all are right now. We all are very good at hiding when the Scarabs come, for they haven't found us yet."
Kray looks curiously at the smoke signal. "Aren't you worried that the Scarabs will see that?"

Skah laughed hard, and obnoxiously... on purpose. When he cought his breath again he grinned and hissed : "I sure hope they do, I hope they all come. I hope not a one is anywhere else when the bird gets here. Haven't you ever heard the dropships get fired up? Have you never saw the chunks missing out of pathways, buildings, and vehicles?" he didn't feel it was neccessery to explain anymore, and just laughed again at the stupidity of his question. He was giving considerable attention to his side, though, and was clearly uncomfortable after the laughter.

"Well, I am sure you wouldn't want them to start to attack again before the ship gets here. What if they attack the ship once it has landed? Damages it too much for it to take flight again? You are the professionals, but I just was wondering why not use an electronic single beacon?" You don't hear any anger in his voice, he is just stating a fact.

Skah shook his head and sighed "Kid, shut up, they issue us with these things so we can use them. It'd be too expensive for the Federation to keep supplying it's soldiers with electronic locators, besides, wise-a**, those things could potentially give us away regardless of wether we were using them or not. I'd rather use coloured smoke, at least I know my message is getting through." It was obvious that Skah didn't like human technology at the best of times, but he could barely work a microwave let alone some fangled locator device. The sound of the ships engines was already audable, and clear to Skah, anyway.
