Scott's plan to anchor himself to the ropes worked...too well.
As soon as Taker released him, he immediately fell chest-first into the apron edge, with his feet tangled in the ring ropes.
As such, he hung upside-down, completely helpless as he took a wicked chairshot to the back of his head. His arms dangled downward afterward, as he appeared to be knocked out.

Scott wasn't able to escape a third time. The Tombstone connected, laying Scott out on the floor.

Taker opens the casket, picks up Scott, and goes to throw him inside the casket and shut the lid.

(Can't end it yet. Haven't teased the casket enough.)
Scott found himself dumped into the casket.
As Taker prepared to close the lid, Scott made a last ditch, almost reflexive attempt to save the match. He swung his body around, leaving his left arm and left leg hanging out of the casket as Taker slammed the lid down. It hurt like hell, but it kept him in the match.

((You sure you want to put your body through that much pain?))
Grabs the casket lid and starts slamming it shut over and over trying to put Scott through as much pain as possible.

(Read his profile. More guts than brains.)
Scott screamed at the pounding he took from the casket lid.
Eventually he gave in and yanked his limbs into the casket. He didn't give up, though, as he pressed his legs and arms upwards to block the lid, and with a little luck, smack it back into Taker's face.

The lid hits Taker in the face causing the lid to hopefully fall back down and lock Scott inside.

The lid plummeted back down, threatening to end the match.
By inches, Scott managed to catch the lid before it closed. He pushed it open, and heaved his battered body out.
Desperately, he reached for a nearby discarded steel chair, intending to take one last all-out shot at wrapping it around Taker's head.

While Scott was leaning down to pick up the chair Taker saw the opportunity to try and big boot Scott in the head.

The big boot connected...with the chair Scott held, propelling it directly into Scott's face. He went down like George Bush's approval rating.

Scott desperately grabs the lid and side of the casket and holds on for dear life as Taker attempts to throw him in.

(This is going nowhere. I yield.)
Scott finally gets clocked one too many times by the casket lid. He falls unconscious inside the casket, allowing Taker to slam the lid shut.
