Lorelei watched the woman as she spoke - it helped her unravel the broken speech and heavy accent. Part of her wanted the woman to slip into whatever language was her own. She most likely would know it.

"Yes, we are," she said, smiling a little. Her face was mostly shaded by the hood, but the smile was visible. She held out her hand to Vanna, who took it.

"You're not standing in the way at all. At least, not any more than everybody else around." She gestured to the large crowds. "I should have been more careful myself. Are you hurt at all?"

"No, no hurt .. on me. I am the good." Her eyes seemed to have some trouble focusing on Lorelei or Vanna- she glossed over them and continued to see beyond to the winding caravan. "Vy come... here? Gypsies, on All Saviors Day?"

"Oh, that's good. I-" She blinked.

All Saviors Day?

Had it really been that long? She rememberd her father mentioning something... about an All Saviors' Day being in a year. That had been right before she'd left.

Had she really been gone nearly a year now?

Lorelei shivered. Her twentieth birthday must have passed by unmarked by this point. Living without her father's ledgers and her mother's careful planning had stolen her sense of time. She had barely known when the seasons changed, since they moved all about the land.

"All Saviors Day?" she asked, quietly. "I've only heard of it once before... Is it really... soon? We only came in hopes of finding trade, really. I had no idea..."

Gwynna Chirilo
Gwynna dropped a casual curtsy, her actions limited by the child on her hip. "Gwynna Chirilo, and my daughter here is Nusa." She smiled at the pair. "Well, I'm sure you'll be welcome to travel with us, but I believe we're going into the city for a while."

Nusa burbled happily from within her many layers of scarves. Although she had loved the forest, as long as there were new things to see, the red panda girl was content.

"well, truth be told, I cannot go anywhere for sometime unless i recieve assistance. I'm currently unable to save much money for supplies to continue wandering because what i make on perfomances goes towards daily needs. I am loathe to be stuck here in eternity, the din is enough to drive a girl crazy. If your caravan mother accepts me into the train i would be much happier in knowing i could leave at some point."

Tamlin gave Gwynna a warm smile as she scooped up Nusa and spun her around hoping to recieve more of the childs joyous giggling. Nusa much reminded her of her younger siblings whom she hadn't seen in a few years since she left her family to follow her older brothers footsteps in traveling alone to better become an adult. Tamlin was amazed how much she enjoyed being surrounded by a family once more and fervently hoped they would accept her.

She set the child down to continue her playing. and once more addressed Gwynna.

"So what brings you to this city, ive been here a few days and Baptiste much longer, perhaps we can assist you some. for certain, these crowds do not fully appreciate a well played instrument."

Baptiste nods. "I hadn't expected to leave soon," he says to Gwynna. "After all, your caravan has only just arrived, and the Port is a beautiful city. Especially when this festival's going on."
He turns to Tamlin, mildly surprised. "A well-played instrument, mm?" he inquires, arcing a sand-colored eyebrow. "I know my way around a lute and lyre. Perhaps one day we'll play together, mm?"

Caroline takes Rojiza's hand and together they wind through the gathered people. Color catches Caroline's eye--a girl with hair like flames, and very tall. She and Ro approach the girl. Caroline nods up at her with a friendly smile. "That's some verra colorful hair ye've got, lass," she says warmly.

Rojiza, on the other hand, is more interested in the crate. She peers at it curiously, though she's too polite to draw attention to it. She wonders what's inside it. Maybe its contents were alive. Why was it covered with a cloth?

"'Lo, TreeScaler!" The older Fermer said. His voice was creased with the impediments of age- and the surprise of seeing a Dove so far away from their precious forest. He came forward, lithe for how bent he was- though the woman he had been laughing with remained at the fire, the bottle in one hand and a stick in the other. She prodded the coals- completely unengaged in her previous companian's current conversation. If she minded being interrupted, it did not show in her actions or on her long, tanned face.

"So far away from the forest, little Dove." He looked up at the long winding caravan that stretched out behind her. "Did this gypsy band lure you away from home? Kidnap you, perhaps?" He lowered his voice with a whisper at that, though a smile spread across his face simultaneously, almost as if the idea were delicious fun.

"Oh no. I left with them of my own free will. So long ago." She smiled. "My sister-in-friend used to call me a Fermer, because I was so close to the ground even then. I'm an earth element, she said, laughing, and wondering why she felt so open with this smiling Fermer. "What is all the commotion here? What's going on- is it a trading festival?" She opened her eyes wide with hope. Pierre, in the meantime, continued to stalk down the wagons- looking for someone.

"Oh thank you! What a wonderful thing to say. I love my hair," the Fermer chattered, fluffing the mass that sprouted from beneath an equally colorful scrap of material that served as a bandana, "it's such a shiny color, don't you think? That's what my mother said. ...She's not around. Not right now, anyway. I think she went off to trade some salamanders. Who knows where she's off to now. I'm always telling her, when you're in a crowd you're in a crowd, and you've got to take someone else. She's not got hair like mine. My hair's like Pappa's- his is red, hers is brown. Not so easy to see in a crowd. ...Hey there, girly. You want to see what's under there? I think they're sleeping, but if you want, I can pull the cloth off. I think it'll be okay... hm. Yes. It probably will." She laughed, ending her long, quick tirade of speech with a bubbling trill.

Tamlin was slightly startled at such an open invitation and she tried to hide her surprise with a rich laugh and began talking.

"My mother was an excellent musicion, although her voice was her best, she taught all of us music. I favor pipes and wind, the flute being my specialty, my voice is fair, though nothing to glorify."

*if i do not stop talking, this stranger will soon know all of me* she thought to herself.

"I would be honored to play with you, if we both become members of this caravan im sure we will have the opportunity."

"Well, then an honorary Fermer, then," he said, patting her arm with a grandfather's hand. "Though I never saw a Fermer head into the city so blind to All Saviors Day- not to mention The Choosing, so I guess you're more gypsy at that. They're always so confused, poor darlings. You're all off in the world, never know what's happening at the heart of it."

Gwynna Chirilo

"Trading and news, mostly," Gwynna answered, not wanting to speak of the meij with a complete stranger, however pleasant she seemed.

Nusa squeaked as she was swung around, thoroughly surprised. She held out her arms to Gwynna, eyes wide. The gypsy scooped the little girl up and gave her a teasing poke on the nose.

Although the talk of music was alluring, Gwynna still wasn't sure if she could perform for an audience. With a smile she said, "Our wagonleader is Valelldia; you'll find her wagon at the head of the train. Well met!"

Gwynna slipped away with Nusa, leaving the pair to find Valelldia.

Baptiste nods interestedly as Tamlin speaks. "I've a voice as well, though I don't have much occasion to use it." He shrugs offhandedly. "Do you have any music in you, Miss Gwynna?" he asks the redheaded gypsy woman, wishing to turn the conversation away from himself, but he's met with her retreating back. Shrugging again and turning back to Tamlin, he goes over the hasty words of Gwynna. "Valelldia, mm?" he says. "Perhaps we should go find her."

Caroline laughs at the girl. The young lady could talk nearly as much as she could! "Aye," she agrees. "Verra shiny. Might ye tell me what's got the people so worked up? It seems t'be a festival of some sort, but we've not been in the city but for a few minutes."

Rojiza blinks a few times, mildly startled at the sudden rush of speech. This girl talked more than mama, almost. Sleeping? What was sleeping? She bobs her head in a nod, bushy brown hair swishing thickly.

"Why not?" she questioned. Vanna was tugging on her hand. Carefully, she lifted the girl into her arms.

Then she pursed her lips, humming slightly. "What's your native language, miss? I may know it... that may make things easier for you."

in responce to Baptist's suggestion Tamlin reached for Brid's reins and began walking in the direction of the front of the train

"that seems to be a good idea. Shall we?" Tamlin smiled and heading in the direction Valelldia was said to be at.
