Koori let go of Yuki's hood as soon as he squeaked and sat down in the sand.
"Come again?" She asked puzzled, her head tilted to the right. She had absolutely no idea what he just said.
"Was... Was that Japanese?" She thought she recognized the language. It was either Japanese or Chinese.
"Erm... Ohayoo? Oh no that's not it... Umm... Konichiwa? Genki Desu ka" she tried the only Japanese phrase she knew. Maybe that would calm him down a bit. But still... Why did he startle so easily. Her shield was blocking all the sunlight. What was there to be afraid of?

The vampire sighed as Koori let go of his hood. '...wait, which language am I supposed to be speaking?' His mind blanked, and he knew it would take a few more moments before he remembered. It sure as hell wasn't Japanese, judging by the perplexed look on her face. His lightly cracked face wrinkled a bit more as he smiled at her attempt to speak with him.
"Konichiwa..." He muttered, embarrassed that his mind had blanked. "Hai, genki desu. Anata wa?" He paused, figuring he might as well apologize, even if she wouldn't understand. "Wakarimasen - gomen nasai..."
1) Hello. 2) Yes, I'm fine. And you? 3) I don't understand - I'm sorry.

Koori's brain strained to understand what he was saying, but unfortunately all she could make out was the hello. She gave up trying to talk to him in Japanese and stubbornly crossed her arms over her chest.
"Why don't you come back to our world, Yuki... So we can understand each other again... I don't like this whole 'I can't understand what you're saying' thing! Not one bit!" And sure, she didn't like it, but it wasn't simply because she couldn't understand him. It was also because she doesn't like not knowing things (languages being one of them).

The vampire sweat-dropped at her demand - he didn't like not being able to communicate with her either! It was just that the language slipped his mind... "Uhm..." He held up one finger, the universal signal for 'wait a second', and decided to count to himself. If he got to ten, he'd smack his head on the tree. A jump start like that might work...
Ichi. He smiled apologetically at Koori. Ni. How the ******** do you say hello in English? San. Koori was looking annoyed. Shi. ...he should really try counting in English... Go. ...what was that, fi...ve? Five, yes, that's it! Roko. Maybe he would remember and not have to risk slight injury! Shichi. ...or not. Hachi. Oh, piss it.
He leaned back and smacked his head into the tree.

Ari's eyes began to close and her mind drifted off to the watery graves that she had created for the trespassers.
Kiyo came bounding throught the tree line and immediately noticed the amount of students at the beach. 'I guess Mizo wasn't in the forest. Hm. I wonder what that girl is doing over there?' Kiyo had spotted Ari and drifted over in her direction. She leaned over her and stared into her closed eyes.
Instinct kicked in and Ari quickly opened her eyes to see Kiyo's large, curious eyes boring into her. She snapped up, almost smacking her head into Kiyo's. "Who the hell are you?!"
Kiyo stepped back a step, seeing that Ari was disturbed by her presence. "I'm Kiyo. A student here. I'm an angel. Who are you? What were you doing? What are you?" Kiyo's curiousity began to get the better of her.

The dull thud of Yuki's head making contact with the base of the tree sounded up and down along the beach. Koori's eyes widened in horror and she scrambled up next to him.
"What the hell are you doing?!" She demanded franticly.

Yuki grinned sheepishly underneath his hood. "Rejogging my memory." He knocked lightly on his head. "Sorry about that, when I get...unnerved...I start rambling on in Japanese, and it takes a while for me to remember English. Usually it's fine enough to let it run its course until I remember, but you seemed too bothered by it to justify waiting that long." He couldn't really explain it much beyond that point, other than the fact that he'd been in the Far East for so long, that the language was more his native tongue than his actual one.
"So...yes." He sighed, settling in against the tree.

Koori let out a sigh.
"You are so bothersome..." And with that she stood up, grabbed her basket, and marched down to the water's edge.

Yuki chuckled, standing up. Bothersome? He hadn't been called that in a while. Trusting that the paper shield was still in place, (and that his hood would stay bloody on), he followed Koori. "You try being agreeable when you've got a woman in your face and you've just set yourself on fire."

Koori giggled a bit at his reply.
"I'll give you that... But try not to be so damn confusing, alright?" She walked down into the water until it reached her knees. Then she began scouring the shallow water for gems. It was hard to discern their tell tale glitter now that the sun was beginning to set. When she found one, Koori simply flicked her wrist and the glittering gem flew out of the water and landed neatly in her basket.

Yuki watched as Koori gathered gems in the water, and decided to help out. He had promised to, after all. The vampire reached and lowered his hood, (his face had fully healed); the sun was low enough that it wouldn't damage him much anymore. He shrugged off his cloak, revealing the pale, shirtless body underneath. Yuki removed his pants as well - he didn't want to damage the leather, after all - and walked up to Koori.
"I'll help~" He said cheerfully, standing there wearing only his very telling red briefs.

"Ok... Now all you have to look for is... is... umm..." Koori had at that moment turned around to see Yuki standing there in his underwear and had gone very red in the face as well as unable to form words. After staring at him for much longer than she should have, she turned back around and stared off at the setting sun.
"Wha... What exactly are you doing?" She asked, her hands clenching the basket, and still as red as a cherry.

He smirked. "I just told you, I'm helping." He looked off into the horizon wistfully for a few moments.
The vampire suddenly dove out and disappeared under the water, gathering some gems from the bottom as he swam. It was lucky that he didn't actually need to breathe, since the minutes were ticking unnoticed as he searched.

Yuki dove beneath the surface before Koori could say another word. She let out a sigh and continued to gather more gems. Then a though popped into her head. Why hadn't Yuki resurfaced yet? A pang of panic hit her then. She tossed her basket in the air, which hovered there effortlessly, and waded out deeper, searching for him. She expected to find him face down in the sand.
"Yuki?" She whimpered, almost up to her neck in the water.
"Yuki?! Yuki where are you?!" Koori was wading now, her feet unable to touch the bottom. Her wet clothes were beginning to weigh her down, but she kept swimming out.

Hearing Koori's panicked voice, Yuki turned his head back to shore, only to see that she was being held down by her clothes. '...oops.' He thought, not realising how long he had been under the waves. The vampire darted back to shore, swam underneath the teacher, and stood up - she was now sitting on his shoulders.
"...did I forget to mention that I don't need to breathe?" He asked sheepishly, looking up at her as best he could.
