"Yeah, you'd better," Coen replied, scratching at his beard thoughtfully. "And don't think it'll be so easy to find him this time. He gets better as the game goes on," he said as Jazz skipped off.

"Okay!" He called to Coen as he entered the next room, and he glanced around curiously, looking for any sign of the little foxchild. "Hmm... Where can he be?"

Eli heard the mouse's footsteps approaching and grinned to himself, making sure all his limbs were out of view this time. As Jazz stepped into the room, Eli watched from his hiding spot. Who knew such cunning hid behind the little fox's baby blues..?

"Hmm..." No obvious limbs of the foxchild poking out from anywhere.. Jazz glanced around the room, similar to the last, and began to look behind and under pieces of furniture scattered about. So far, no sign of Eli..

Eli had to work hard to control the urge to laugh maniacally. Jazz just had no idea. Gleeful, the little foxboy continued to watch from inside the old fashioned writing desk that sat in a dark corner of the room.

The little mouse hmm'd again, placing one hand on one hip, the other reaching up to scratch his head behind his ear. He really had no idea where little Eli was. Nevertheless, he continued to let his eyes wander over every piece of furniture in the room, studying it all to see what he'd inspected and what he hadn't yet.
He walked over to a few other chairs and couches and looked under, around, and behind him, but still couldn't find Eli. He frowned a bit, wondering where the little fox was, then finally noticed the old desk in the corner. Surely Eli couldn't be in that..? Just to make sure, Jazz walked over and began to open and inspect each of the drawers and cabinets.

Eli saw the mouse look his way and settled back to wait. He had to give Jazz credit. Most would have bypassed the desk completely thinking it was too spooky looking for a child to want to hide in. His ears twitched when he heard the first drawer slide out and he knew he was caught. Only a matter of time until the mouse got to the cubby hole he was in..

He continued going through the drawers of the desk, really doubting that Eli would be in there. He nearly jumped out of his fur when he saw the little foxchild in the little cubbyhole, though. "Eek!!" He recovered quickly, and burst into a fit of giggles. "I found you!"

"Yew did!" Eli chirped, throwing himself on the mouse. "D'you wanna hide again?" he asked politely. He knew that adults got tired quicker sometimes and didn't want to play anymore after a couple rounds.

He hugged the little fox and continued giggling. "I did! You're so good at hide-and-seek, Eli!" He complimented the little fox, still giggling. "I'm not sure if I'll be able to hide again, I can't think of many good hiding places! If you'd like, you could hide again and I could find you? Or we could play a different game!" He offered, letting go of the fox and smiling down at him. Kids were so cute.

Eli tapped at his chin with one little paw and thought about it. After a few minutes of deliberation, he said, "Le's play a diff'ren' game. How 'bout 'attackle Coen'?" he suggested, beaming.

Jazz giggled, ruffling the hair on the little fox's head. "Okay, we can play that, but not too long, okay? We don't want to hurt him too badly, okay?" He asked, giggling.

"Oh, it duzent 'urt 'im. Coen jus' makesit soun' like it duz," Eli pointed out, rolling his eyes as if it were painfully obvious. "Now c'mon. Le's find 'im.." he said, taking hold of the mouse's hand and tugging insistently.

"Oh, okay then." He said with a giggle, allowing the child to pull him to the other room. He assumed that Eli would want him to play with Coen too, or at least watch. "Just don't 'attackle him for too long, then, okie?"

"Oh alrigh'," Eli huffed, rolling his eyes in that long-suffering way only children and spouses can master. Then he suddenly crouched down, pulling Jazz with him. "Dare he is," the little foxboy said, pointing out the big lion. "I'll jump on 'im firs' and when 'e falls, you jump in and he'p me.."
Coen's ears twitched, catching every whispered word. Bad enough that Eli had to do this all the time by himself but now he was bringing Jazz into it... Well, at least the little mouse was cute..
