Ankita stood up and walked slowly over to her dresser where her cane always leaned up against, shaking her head.
"No, I'm quite good to go." This was a very rare situation in which she didn't call to Sarava. Mostly because she had hopes of getting 'closer' to Charlot this evening, and the rest because she figured Sarava didn't care much for moving from her hammock.
And of course, she was quite correct. By this point, Sarava had knocked over her little back of fruit and dozed off into quite the pleasant sleep.

"Okay," Charlot left his hat and jacket, buttoning his shirt as he held the door open and stepped aside for Ankita. He wasn't sure if she could step out herself.. or she needed help- but he didn't wanna step on her toes or anything if she was capable of doing it herself. He took a neutral stance beside the door, waiting.
" 'Adrian said the town was a little walk from where we're camped."
From the outside, it didn't look like it was raining anymore- but everything was touched with the wetness and humidity. This place had strange weather.

Ankita heard him opening the door and nodded to thank him. She took a deep breath as she stepped outside, taking in the scent of fresh fallen rain. One by one she stepped down from the trailer, and winced a little at the feeling of fresh mud under her bare feet. She turned back to the direction of the trailer, lifting up her cane every now in then to prevent it from sinking too far into the mud.
"Which way?"

"South," Charlot replied, trailing along behind her so he could smoke. Behind her, the sound of a match being struck signalled him lighting the cigarette.
It was funny, how easy it was. If he were any sort of wolf, he could have followed Ankita right out of the circus grounds and did whatever the hell he wanted with her. I mean, hell- who was he anyway? A stranger she'd met a couple days ago, let herself trust... and now this. His eyes narrowed slightly as they stepped out of the ring of torchlight the grounds provided, marking the field surrounding them.
The ground got softer, grass up to Ankita's thighs. It was a lot quieter out here as well, save the song of crickets and the occasional frog from the lake nearby.

Ankita walked in a slow pace, expecting to hear random directions blurted out. She let her hand trail beside her, touching the grass with ever step she took. Her ears seemed to flick at every sound made in the quite atmosphere.
"Do you know how late the shops stay up in town?" She said quietly, trying to not disrupt anything that may be sleeping amongst the wilderness.

"Oi'm not sure. If they close durin' regular times, oi 'ope we're not t'late... yeah?" He exhaled a hiss of smoke, eyes peering through the darkness until he spotted the pathway ahead of them. "Turn a little to th'right, there's a road ahead."
He skirted over to her right, listening for any sounds as they walked. Nothing but nature, but you couldn't be too careful.

She turned slightly, unconciously grabbing for him until she felt his hand, to make sure she was going the right way. A small snort hit the air when the smell of cigarettes finally hit her, and she winced a little, trying to not say anything or do anything rude.
"Do you know of anywhere else that might be open just in case?" She didn't know why she was probing him with questions, since the chances were heavily in favor of the idea that he was probably as unfamiliar of the area as she was. But she was also desperately trying to fill the silence that surrounded them. Although she loved the sounds of crickets, she was particularly fond of hearing his foreign accent even more.

Charlot's eyebrows rose as Ankita reached out and grabbed his hand. Interesting, he thought to himself. Then again, the was BLIND. It wasn't like she was making a move on him or something.
Agressive women were sexy, in his opinion.
"Well, seein' as oi've never been t'this town..." He blinked, stepping out onto the semi-gravel pathway that made for a road. "Oi dunno what t'tell you. If all else fails, Oi'm pretty fast.. oi bet I could catch us some crickets."

Ankita laughed, giving a playful smile over his comment. She tripped slightly, stepping onto the paved road but quickly recovered, letting go of his hand. Her step became lighter in attempts from stepping to heavily on any unpleasant rocks that decided to place themselves in her way.
"Crickets sound good.." she said half-heartedly. She wasn't a fan of insects, which was the primary reason why she switched Sarava's diet. "Maybe there'll be a market place open, and I could whip something up for us quickly." Over the last few years, she had learned how to cook for herself, usually fairly simple things that did not involve too much watching over. She's had her fair share of meal burns, but they all turned into things she'd learn from.

"We c'also break in somewhere if everythin's closed." Charlot replied, moving to keep pace with her lighters steps. He spotted the lights ahead, signalling the main town of ...'Gaia' (or so the sign read).
He was curious about her cooking ability. "Whot sorts of things d'you cook?"

She laughed, half out of amusement and half in hopes he was joking.
"Well, usually I shy away from the trickier stuff... But I have a good collection of recipes that are pretty easy to make."
And by easy, she meant pasta dishes, and the poultry dish that popped up here and there. Things that most likely wouldn't necissarily kill her with fairly simple and easy cooking preperation. She did, however, learn how to do some fairly interesting garnishing that she learned from a chef she had befriended back home. She learned which herbs to use from the scents and texture, and had much luck in placeing things down randomly.
"Maybe I can cook for you sometime? I've gotten some nice compliments on my specialty." She gave a sickeningly sweet smile in hopes of swaying him into a yes.

Charlot was a guy... and lazy. It didn't take much 'swaying' to get a hearty answer out of him.
"Sure, Oi'd love t'try some of y'cooking." He'd eaten pretty BAD before, so he figured a blind woman's cooking couldn't kill him where other's had failed. Hopefully.
He continued to give her little directions here and there as they approached the town, keeping her out of pot holes and other suprises in the road way.
The little town was lit up- doors open or filled with signs marking them open for business. That was a good sign. He glanced at Ankita, informing her of a set of stairs before following.
"Looks like everythin' is still open for th'moment... so, what d'we need f' you t'cook somethin?"

Ankita stopped for a moment. She was glad he had accepted the invitation but she was moreso hoping it to be for a later date. At the present moment, she found herself to be feeling a tad bit on the lazy side and tried to find a polite way to reschedule.
"Well, maybe we can pick a few things up on the way out? I'm pretty hungry right now,.." she laughed nervously. "Cooking will take a bit of time." She nodded, trying to give an expression that screamed Please don't make me cook now. I'll give you a cookie if you don't.

Charlot laughed, shaking his head. "Y'know, y'could jus tell me y'don't want'a cook..." Poor thing, giving him the OHGODIDONTWANNACOOKTODAY look. Didn't bother him at all. He was tired as it was.
"Oi bet there's plenty of things to jus pick up 'ere." He pushed a door open, reaching out to lead her in with her arm. It smelled like fruit and vegetables inside, with the faint underlying scent of herbs and inscense.

"Oh!" Ankita let out a small squeal as she was pulled into the shop unexpectedly, and was in a slight moment of panic, wondering if something bad was going on like being attacked by wolves, or bears, or ... fruits?
She took a deep breath, and almost immediatly, a childishly euphoric expression replaced that of worry, and a large smile creeped on her face.
"OHhhhh... this smells so gooooodd." She leaned forward slightly, breathing in more of the vapors. She had never encountered any sort of market shop that sold the food inside and the heavy concentration of the scents drove her almost wild with giggles.
