I know that feeling. Steele's a pain to buy for, but she likes shinies as much as me. Thoughtful, Ransom slipped an arm around her waist- and a small fold of bills into her pocket.
They'll hold them here for us to pick up later. Where to next?

Luna's first impulse was to smack Ransom -- after all, other peoples' hands don't belong in her pockets... ESPECIALLY after the Zurg incident. But she quickly steadied herself.
Well... I don't feel up to shopping for maternity clothes yet... She furrowed her brow. But I do want to indulge myself in a good soak when I get home.
Bath and Body Works! whee

Ravine let out a SCREEE, and Ransom snorted. "Girls," he replied, with a rueful shake of his head. "What is it about you people that makes you think perfectly good water needs additions....?"
"...Not that I can talk." He grinned, and tugged her out the door after they had paid. "I like the oils best. Soap and I have a love-hate relationship...I can only use it in showers. Otherwise, it chokes me." O_o;;

Luna shrugged, glancing away. I don't like oils so much. I don't like the way it clings to my skin. She began to twist her hair around her little finger as she thought. Really, though, I like bubble baths the best. Water is nice, but scented bubbles are soothing. And lotions. And scented candles...

"Girl," Ran said again, affectionate, and gave her a little shove. "Ravine likes the place cause they have bath toys. I can keep the oil off of me...so I guess it's different when you can't actually make it go AWAY."
Slipping into the store, he sneezed once and looked around. Oh hey, Nico likes that stuff over there. And they've got those sales on where you buy a couple and get free things...let's clear 'em out.
There was definite amusement in his tone, and excitement. For a minute, he was the little boy Luna had first met again...before the cynical, darker part of his life. 4laugh

Luna giggled quietly, allowing herself to be led. Oooh, and they have those soaps I like over there in the sale bin! I don't see why everyone else doesn't seem to like this scent; just because it doesn't smell like a perfume factory exploded...

I disapprove of people who smell like sugary candy. There was a sniff of distaste in the boy's voice, and he snagged a few items before accepting a pink rubber ducky from Ravine. "This blackberry vanilla stuff, though, damn. I could eat this s**t with a spoon."
He grabbed a small bottle for Luna, adding it to his stack and setting his bottles and things by the register. All except a bit of peppermint-scented stuff was for other people, but he felt much lighter...maybe he'd been tkaing this whole Nico thing too seriously. They weren't joined at the hip, after all, and Nico didn't liek people who tied him down...if that meant Ransom needed to loosen up a little, oh well. He'd have to mention it to Steele and see what she thought that night.

In her own enthusiasm for awesome-smelling products, Luna didn't even notice that she'd switched from telepathic projections to empathic.
Oooh! MINT! Luna loved the scent of mint. Not peppermint, no no no. That was too artificial. Too pungent for her. Regular mint, though, now THAT was a smell. Especially if it had that same moist, earthy quality to it.
What did Ransom think of that?

Anything with the word 'moist' in it lead to water, which was perfectly good to Ransom, but he preferred a few very specific scents- the musk/spice scent of dragons, the faint scent of chlorine from the pool, sea salt, the cinnamon and tea smell that always mixed with dirt and fire on the Evil Twins-
All of this was returned in the same way, and Ransom's head came up like a startled deer, blush painted across his pale skin. He wasn't used to that kind of easy communication with anyone but Ravine- and she knew all of hsi secrets!
"That one," he told her, rubbing absently at his cheeks as the glow died. On his shoulder, the little dragon cackled in amusement and clutched her new ducky possessively. It wasn't that he didn't trust Luna...he'd just startled himself. "The brown bottle, with the little leaves on it- that's the real stuff."

Luna gratefully took the bottle, examining it quickly before deeming it satisfactory. Now, she didn't project anything; she simply reached out and gently pinched Ransom's cheek.
And with that, she nearly skipped to the register. 4laugh heart

Girl, he teased affectionately, and followed with the handful of items he'd grabbed on his own. Ravi's ducky went into the pile, and he leaned over the counter to add his stuff to Luna's- and hand the man his cash.
"What do you think you're doing?" He sniffed at her, with a very obnoxious expression. Sometimes- okay no, ALWAYS- it was fun being a boy. xd

Luna tilted her head at Ransom, brow furrowing. Paying. She held a credit card between her index and middle finger, fighting the urge to keep from sticking her tongue out at him.
Rock, paper, scissors?

"Faster than you," he teased wickedly, and smirked as Ravine leapt off his shoulder to wrap her front claws around Luna's hand like a cat, making adorable mental giggle-noises at the game.
"Besides, you can't pay for your own present." ;D

But you didn't even let me get YOU a present! Luna protested, instinctively shaking her hand in a halfhearted attempt to dislodge Ravine.

It's not Christmas yet...and I don't like presents. He grinned at her, and the dragon currently nibbling delicately at her fingers. Don't be such a hardass, Agent Luna. You can be tough and stuff to your bosses- I'm still younger than you, I have to be impressive SOMEtimes!
The clerk had something hidden in a bag, and slid it across the counter to Ran as he evaded her resistance and paid. He traded dragon for bag, careful of it's fluffy tissue paper and detangling Ravi from Luna. "Sorta for both of you...since there's two of you now."
