Starry noticed Syam step away from her. It didn't strike her right away why he did so. She shrugged it off and focused on the moment. " Oh good. I can always get my own, but those seem like they'll do for now. I'll take a single for now.
Nanaki laid down beside Circe. He could tell that she still felt awful. Nanaki really didn't know what to do. He adjusted his position so that he was comfortable. But instead of laying his head down upon his red skinned claws, Nanaki had rested his head on top of Circes'. He made a slight purring sound, trying to make Circe feel better.

"Alright then." He flipped it around and handed it to her, handle first, "Ok, so I'm going to figure out what you know so far with a quick sparring match." He fitted the Katar to his palm, handling it with the practiced ease of a professional, appearing careless but upon closer inspection, as he swept it around a bit to get the feel of the unbalanced blade, that he knew very well what he was doing. He took a basic stance and motioned for her to do the same.
Her orange eyes opened with a startled chirp as she felt the weight of his head on her own. Tentatively she leaned against him, as though testing her boundaries, seeing if maybe he really was okay with her.

" It's been a bit, but I should do fine...." Starry said as she took the Katar from Syam. She fitted it to her right hand, since that was her dominant arm. Starry didn't look at Syam when she did a few practice swings. She took notice of the age of the weapon. Seemed like it'd been through quite abit. Starry preferred newer weapons but would just have to deal. " Hmmm...I wonder if now would also be a good time to use my flexibilty..." she said to herself mainly, but knew Syam would pick up on what she said. Starry did a few more practice swings, pulling off a few simple manuevers to show what she meant; even if he DIDN'T hear her.
Nanaki noticed Circe starting to lean onto him, though she was being alittle hesitant. He purred softly, and nuzzled the black females' head somewhat affectionately. Nanaki surprised even himself, when he'd spread his dark, fire coloured wing over Circe.

Syam watched her as she performed. He was surprised, she was actually not bad. Maybe this wouldn't be such a beginner experience as he had originally expected, "Here." He stepped toward her and adjusted her grip a bit, "With a weapon as unbalanced as this one, holding it this way will help with those manuevers. And keep you're weight a bit more back in the front stance, otherwise you're too off balance." He added, then stepped back, "Ready?" He got into a sparring stance again.
Feeling a swell of safety and contentment as he spread his wing across her, she nuzzled closer into him, unable to stop herself from purring. She liked this male, a lot. She hoped she hadn't messed up too bad, scaring his owner like she had.

Starry looked up and watched Syam adjust her grip on the aged weapon. She nodded with what he was saying. Starry knew to trust him, he seemed to be quite the prefessional. She readied herself in her own personal stance. " Thanks again...."
Nanaki realaxed greatly once he knew for sure that Circe felt better. He liked Circe alot, she was the only male he'd seem in his life that was as big as he was. Which, was surprise to him all on it's own. He knew full well though that the female was alittle larger though, but it didn't bother him. He got as close to Circe as he could possilby get without...you know...

Syam nodded as she adjusted her grip, "Not a problem, sweetie." He said, then without any warning made as to strike at her chest, testing her blocking. He of course wasn't really going to hit, even if she didn't block he had enough control to not hit her.
Circe breathed deeply and found herself drifting off against the comfortable Nanaki. It was warm and she had been training, so a nap wasn't exactly a bad thing...

Starry smiled at what Syam had said to her. ' sweetie...' She chuckled to herself, and wasn't so disracted that when Syam lunged at her; presumeably to test her blocking, she did so. Starry knew either way that he would've stopped and not hit her, after all, this was just practice. Now, if it was an official fight they were having; he would've had to do so. It was a wonder to her that she could block and talk to herself at the same time.
Nanaki could feel that Circe was drifting off on him. He helped further her slumber along by making a deep, soothing purring sound. Though, granted he was making himself tired as well, sleeping on a warm day would do him good. But he could sleep right away. Nanaki had to keep a lookout. He didn't want any wandering male to come by and steal his prize away from him.

Syam noticed that she seemed to be off in another world, she had managed to block, but it was sloppier than he would have liked. Still, the fact that she had been able to do so while drifting away was promising, "C'mon Starry, pay attention." He recovered from the block, turning so the change in the direction allowed him to spin and swipe at her shoulder. Of course, again, it was controlled. He had to stay super focused so he would go beserker on the girl. That would be a bad move.
Circe turned so she could nuzzle her head against Nanaki more, but also opened an eye. She knew sometimes her partner could get out of hand in battles. She wasn't sure what it was, but he usually never seemed to remember what had happened after his eyes turned red.

Once Starry heard Syam's voice, she quickly drifted back into reality. Just in time as well, because she saw Syam do a nice spin attack. Which, this time, was aimed at her shoulder. Starry always found it somewhat difficult to block her shoulders, which, to anyone; was quite understandable. She'd learned her own blocking technique which allowed her to show off incrediable flexibility. However, once perfectly executed, it left her alittle bit open to another attack. But Starry hadn't reallly ever encountered that before because most of the time when she used that technique; her opponents were alittle distracted by her flexibility. She didn't really understand why either. So WHAT if she was more flexiable that most? What was the big deal? Starry knew full well that Syam probably wouldn't be as interested, but she had no time to do anything else.
Anyone who came across Nanaki could tell RIGHT away that he was ECSTATIC. He was COMPLETELY and UTTERLY happy. Blissful. He continued to purr contentedly, and swished his fire bearing tail furiously.
Nanaki's tail swished so much that at some points it was like a fan.

Syam appreciated her display of flexibility, but at the same time, being a trained warrior it didn't distract him, and wouldn't distract a few other warriors from his caliber of competition as well. It would have to be a move that she used wisely against very specific opponents. He took advantage of her open position. With a one-handed cartwheeling motion he ended behind her, Katar to the throat and foot placed at a precarious interval. If she moved she would trip and fall the the ground, "Nice. Not bad." He said, genuinely please that she wasn't a complete neophyte. He didn't move away just yet, waiting for her to tap out.
Circe turned and began grooming the red male beside her, her companion as she decided to refer to him as. Nipping at his beak she watched her owner out of the corner of an orange orb. Seeing the battle over she focused her full attention on the male, cleaning the corner of his beak affectionately, she purred and fluffed a bit contentedly.

' Well now. This is perfect ain't it...'Starry thought to herself. At the very least she'd be able to defend herself, but because she'd left herself open, Syam had taken full advantage of the opurtunity. Of course, while she was thinking of what to do next, she felt a sharp searing pain in her calf. " Warum im Augenblick ~! " Starry said, with alittle pain in her tone, letting slip alittle bit of her heritage. She mottioned to Syam to easy off and let her tend to her leg. Of ALL the times to get a damn cramp. Starry figured her body was telling her to get some water. Starry limped over to her bag and retrieved a medium sized water jug. Zef watched his owner fiddle around, he chirped lovingly. After taking a few healthy swigs from the jug, Starry used her free hand to rub away the cramp. " Warum dies tat, müssen im Augenblick geschehen. WARUM dies tat, geschehen, als ich übte gegen einen wirklich netten Kerl… " Starry muttered semi-aloud.
Nanaki purred and appreciated the gesture, his neck feathers fluffing slightly in his pleasure. His ear twitched in a cute manner.

"So sprechen Sie Deutsches? Bonbon von Ihnen, zum ich zu halten für ein 'nettes Maul'. Is that your native tongue" He asked, headed over and taking a swig from his own water skein. He looked mildly concerned but was relieved to find out it was just a cramp, "We'll have to get you stretched out properly before we start again." He gave her a half smile, then turned to watch the two big gryphons.
Circe groomed his fluffed neck feathers. Shaking her head she yawned then laid her head across his front paws, purring and rubbing her head against him.

Starry looked up at Syam and quirked an eyebrow at him, " Selbstverständlich spreche ich Deutsches. Es ist meine Muttersprache…" She then returned her attentions back to her cramp. Starry could tell that Syam was looking at the Gryffins," Wie sind Nanaki und Circe? "
Nanaki enjoyed the grooming emmensily. He watched Circe yawn and then recline her head upon his front limbs, purring and rubbing her head against them. Nanaki took the oppurtunity to nuzzle Circe's head.

"I see. I had a few competitions in Germany. Where are you from?" He inquired casually. He was better at understanding than speaking anyway. He tore his gaze from the content gryphs to look at Starry, "How's your cramp by the way?" He asked, hoping she was alright. He took another swig from his water skein.
Circe enjoyed the rumbling emanating from Nanaki and soon found herself drifting off to sleep again. Her purrs became erratic as she would forget and remember, much like a sleeping cat.

" None of the bigger cities I can tell you... " Starry said as she stood up after a bit of rubbing her calf. She did a few simple stretches, it seemed that her cramp was gone. For now anyway. Those things have the greatest tendancy to creep up and bite you in the butt. Starry looked at Syam, her head cocked to the side slightly with a soft smile on her face. " I'm fine now. " She grabbed her water jug and took a few more swigs.
Nanaki rested his head on Circes'. He thought it was somewhat nice to have her around. He also thought it was kinda cute that she kept remembering to purr. Nanaki chuckle huffed to himself.
