"B-but... but I *w-worked* here... I... I th-think it was th-that serum l-label th-that finally did it," The english frog sniffed, feeling his own mistakes was far more terrible than being tricked. "B-but... it m-might have b-been the fire..."

Miller raised an eyebrow, "You WORKED here!? Why the hell would any one want to work here?" He shook his head quickly, he was dumb enough to come here for money too after all. "What do you mean the label? And what fire?"

Newt flinched back, knees brought around so he could peer over them in front of him, "I... I... I used to be a jan-jan-janitor. S-someone n-needs to s-sweep up at the end of the n-night, and I d-don't see th-the d-doc-doctor doing that..." He smiled weakly at that, although his wide mouth was hidden by his legs.

Miller shrugged, "True, I guess it's not your fault where all being tricked in to this place being a janitor in all. Still how can some one sleep at night knowing what they do to us around here?"

Newt fidgeted, in an awkward situation. On one hand, he hated what had been done to him- he didn't ask to be a frog. He didn't want to be a frog. He didn't mind never being able to leave the island- afterall, he didn't have any place to go. He had come here willingly knowing he probably would never see the mainland again, at least not for a long, long time- but he wasn't *human* anymore. On the other hand, he had seen first hand the *good* that could come of the research being done. The benifits to society. He had overheard enough debreifing meetings and glanced over enough paperwork to not so much understand what was going on, but enough to at least see the *why* and the rationalization of that side of the argument.
He swallowed, picking at his swimsuit bottoms and his long froggish toes anxiously, "It... it's all... how y-you look at it, I sup-suppose..."

Miller shrugged once more, "I don't know why they do it, I don't even want too really, I wish I could leave but from what a few others told me I'm already doomed to change in to something." He started back towards the water again, "I've been out here most of the day thinking about it all. Not like theres much else to do really?"

"W-well... " Newt fidgeted, "Th-there's... w-ways to k-keep busy, I th-think... I've b-been trying to st-stay helpfull.... Wh-when... When I first was s-sent over the f-fence..." Newt hopped after him shyly, happy to at least have someone to talk to who didn't seem utterly frustrated by his speech impediment or ready to kill him for being associated to the labs to begin with, "I... I k-kept up my d-duties... g-granted, I th-thought i had j-just been reassigned but... ah... n-now... I've b-been trying to help p-people... Th-the.. ah... older man..." He wracked his froggy brains for the name, "M-m-muh-mr. ... er... S-sid I b-believe? S-sidney? His t-typewriter b-broke and I've b-been trying to f-fix it for him... and... and I've b-been making b-bug traps and s-suchlike... w-would you like one? Th-they... they w-work very well, and I'll be g-glad to c-come by and empty th-them out when they're full- th-there's j-just a m-mild buzzing b-but th-that's easily ignored..."

Miller floated easily on the river again listening to Newt, sure the stutter was odd, but it wasn't much worse then talking with F who's words where laced with a foreign twist. "I didn't have a job to go to though or any real use around here. I mean come on I spent all my spare time playing video games most my life after all."
He raised an eyebrow, "Sid? The old guy with a fish jaw? Why the hell does he need a typewriter to be fixed? He never struck me as a writer of any sorts... As for a bug trap that doesn't sound all that bad at all."

Newt shifted bashfully and self conciously, rubbing the flat area of his face that used to be his nose with the back of a webbed hand, "I d-don't know... it.. it w-was j-just a sug-sug-suggestion... um... s-so.. so y-you'd like one?" He floundered, meaning the bug-trap. "And... I.. I d-dont' know that much about... th-the f-fish-man... but... um... I sup-suppose he is a writer if he g-gave me his t-typewriter to f-fix..?"

Miller shrugged slightly, "I just don't have anything to offer to the island, it's like a giant vacation only with nothing to do really, no places to really visit or family. Just an island... with a bunch of human animal people on it." He nodded, "I don't much like spiders, and flies just annoy me to no end. As for Sid, he just never struck me as the writing type you know?"

"I d-don't know... I haven't sp-spoken to him th-that much," Newt shifted, calming down a bit when it seemed the other boy wasn't too startled by him. Or offended by anything... yet... He swallowed, creeping towards the water again with tiny hops, "And... w-well... I sup-sup-suppose you j-just.. find s-something... If th-this is wh-where we're going to l-live, w-we... we sh-should find s-something to do. It's... it's human nature... to you know... f-find a p-part of society? I sup-sup-suppose... um... That's... that's j-just what I s-sort of think... L-like th-that's something human to hold onto..."

Miller floated along still taking a moment now and then to make his way up along shore to keep in site and hearing distance of the frog man. "I only met him once, he seemed like a stoner out of high school 40 years after graduation but still pretty laid back in a way."
He frowned slightly, "I never fit in much as a part of society, I was classified as that group of children who's generation committed Columbine and would grow up to be horrible horrible people because we played video games." He pondered this for a moment and added, "Not to mention I'm just plain lazy."

"Oh... w-well... um... I... sup-suppose you'll f-find something..." The frog's throat puffed and relaxed a moment as he crouched back, mulling things over befor springing into the water with a loud splash halfway across it's width.

Miller shrugged, "I don't much care to find something though, thats actually what ended up putting me here." He paused diving under the water as Newt caused the water to ripple about, he continued once he surfaced again. "I didn't want to find a spot in collage, and then a job, I wanted to enjoy life and look what it got me, a free trip to a crazy mans island."

"W-well... th-that's in the p-past now, and th-this is where you are, isn't it? Y-you c-can't do anything about it, s-so you m-might as w-well learn how to... how to f-feel fulfilled, right?"
