Irame. It was an elf name if he'd ever heard one. While he was squirreling away this bit of information, Tycho decided to call her Professor Irame, it just seemed appropriate.
When she mentioned the nickname, Tycho winced slightly, remembering the other new nickname he had recently acquired. Sneaky. What on Earth is wrong with that woman?, the back part of Tycho's mind lamented. The front part thought the matter over. Well, it was elven.
"I prefer Tycho, or Ty, but I don't mind if you call me penneth now and then." he replied, feeling it a fair compromise. A commotion involving Professor Araquenosse, the red-head who had picked Tycho off the floor, and a boy he'd never seen before attracted Tycho's attention. Tycho saw the last poke the boy gave Professor Araquenosse's ears, and then the Professor grabbed the red-head's hand. What was going on? The back part of his brain was aghast that the boy had actually had the courage to poke the elf's ears, aghast and slightly annoyed.
Looking around further, he realized that Nathaniel was gone. When had he left? Tycho, realizing finally that his fascination with the elves had brought down his guard, berated himself for not keeping track of everyone. He almost completely threw up his guard, but bowed to Irame beforehand so as not to insult her.
"It was very nice meeting you, Professor Irame. I think I should go now, but I hope to see you again soon."

Dante shook his head and nodded. "I'm sorry, I...Professor Larine was distracting me. I did not mean to snap."
His face showed surprise, then--something that was almost kindnes...? "Magic...that's right. We don't have very many here. And while I'm afraid we have no angels and demons here--" Yet, at least, thought Dante, but he held this part back, "--you are more than welcome to come by my office and take a look at my spellbooks, as most students here will tell you. Just be certain to sign up for a couple of time slots--agh, Gilnuir, get away from those," he said, waving a hand at the crow who had just delved into Prinwaltz's precious cookies--along with Professor Lovinghal.

Rylenn blushed and smiled. "You're very kind, Professor. I will be sure to do so." He eyed the bird for a long moment, judging. "I am guessing he's yours.. how do I call him to me..?" He looked at the other, interested. He was going to learn everything he could... and now that he had someone he even slightly knew.. it would be a little easier.. even if the rest of them thought he was just some tattooed street hoodlum.. he was a magic student.

Dante gave the boy a nod. He liked this kid. "Hold out your arm," he said, then clicked his tongue at Gilnuir twice and gesturing towards Rylenn.
The bird responded immediately, spreading it's wings and flying across the room towards the student.
"Gilnuir's pretty much the only bird you can do this with," he said as the crow stretched out and hooked onto the student's arm. "The others will try to bite you until they get to know you. Just be sure to click your tongue twice at a distance, and if it comes to you you know it's Gilnuir.".

“Of course, Tycho.” Irame said with a smile. “I suppose that it is more of a habit than thinking of you as little anyway.” She shrugged. As Tycho noticed the commotion with Greg and Dante so did Irame, and she shook her head.
“Ai, those two… They always have little ‘fights’ like this…” She rolled her eyes and shook her head. “They act more like children then my own children when they have these fights, Greg especially.
“Ah, I’m sorry, you must have many things to do other than talk to a rambling professor. It was very nice to meet you Tycho, and I do hope to see you soon, although not in any trouble.” She bowed as well. “Namaarie, Tycho.”
“Or if you feed them.” Greg offered as he acted hurt and rubbed his wrist making a big thing out of his ‘injury’ at the hands of Dante. “They tend to act nice to you after that. They even might let you teach them little phrases, or put blue bows with flowers around their necks….” He rubbed his wrist again and looked at Dante, with big hurt eyes and a pouty lip.
“You know professor, you really shouldn’t hurt others.” He held his hand out. “I use this hand for lots of things. Fighting, teaching, writing, lots of stuff. I could give you an example of what I can do with my hands and writs if you would like later tonight.” He said with a smile.

"Please ignore Professor Larine. He is an idiot," Dante said simply. He would NOT get drawn into this little game he seemed to like to play.
((I hope you can do better than just one line next time, kitty. ))

“Oh, it’s not that I’m an idiot” Greg said with a smile and a little nudge to Dantes side. “It’s just that professor Araquenosse doesn’t think that anything other than what you can learn in books should be considered knowledge. Or if you just don’t show how smart you are all the time then you’re an idiot.” He shrugged. “So be on your best, and smartest, behavior while you’re around him. His appealing exterior hides his sarcastic insides.”

"Excuse me, I do not think I asked for your opinion on me," Dante snapped dangerously. Greg did not know how to get the point, evidently, and it annoyed the hell out of him. "For one who prefers to tell hackneyed stories stolen from movies with minor adjustments, you are apparently not familiar with the concept, anyway. Perhaps if you acted your age you'd garner my respect."
That being said, Dante turned back to Rylenn. "I trust you are enjoying the party?"

“It’s not my fault that the movies take things out of my life.” He said with a little smile and a little shrug. “And if I always acted my age then life would be boring and I’d seem very old. Plus we’ve got other professors for that. Besides Professor Javalin acts much the same as me, so it’s obvious that I’m not the only one that thinks that we should all act younger.” He looked towards Rylenn as Dante spoke and smiled at the student.
“If you’re not having fun then just say something, and don’t feel strange about my and professor Dante’s witty banter. We always have amazing conversations like those.”

Rylenn hadn't been paying attention in the least. He offered a piece of bread for the crow. He was.. amazed and rather distracted. "Hallo there, Beautiful. Gilnuir..."

Jaden...to put it in short, was utterly terrified. A researcher being dragged head over heels into the world which, though he truly had believed in it, was now before his eyes in startling clarity. Just the thought of elves and all that went right along with it was a wee bit scary when all you had known was home. Swallowing the lump in his throat, the blond boy quite literally had to force one foot in front of the other...he heard plenty of noise inside...and then, simply steeled himself and decided to run inside. He'd slow down once he got there, yes, but all the same...
Taking a deep breath, he sprinted, coming in and...whoa! He had to stop suddenly nearly skidding...as he'd nearly run into the leaving Nathaniel...an inch or two short from doing so, actually, and the odd-eyed boy blinked dumbly a moment, not sure what to say. "Uhmmm..."

Previously Nathaniel had closed his eyes and was wearing a sad sort of smirk on his face that said, 'heh... so I guess I lose', but the very instant he opened them to see the other skid to a stop in front of him his emerald eyes widened and he blinked at Jaden. His mouth was still closed, and that was a lucky wonder. In all his years Nathaniel had been around people who didn't bump into anyone else so he'd never experienced this before and this first time he realized why people didn't like it: it was awkward. Too awkward.
Stumbling back a tentive step he gave a smile, still flustered, "Hello. Are you alright?" He held out his hand to the other, trying to be polite. For these few precious moments he was a normal kid. He didn't know where to begin to regain composure so all he could do was smile and hope that the other wouldn't notice the crackling painful and angry pain beneath his all-too-real smiles and all-too-green eyes. Everything about him was so real it had to be fake. Didn't it?

He turned scarlet, the blush creeping up his pale cheeks in vivid contrast to his normal skintone. It was all he could do to meet the other's eyes. Oh good lord...naturally the first thing he'd do here was come half an inch from making a complete idiot out of himself.
Ok, Jaden...cool down...breathe...you're ok...
He smiled then, tenatively, "Yes, I'm fine, thank you!" Somehow he managed the words brightly, accepting the other's hand with a firmer grip than one would have thought out of a slight reader who had nearly scared himself out of his wits just a moment ago.
The blond bit his lip, "Uhm...are you all right?" He was good at reading others, after all...and something seemed a little off. But then...who was he to judge?

With a smile everlasting, the British boy shook back just as firm and then let go. He never really minded the timid ones, in fact they were usually easier to get along with. Easier to befriend. Somehow though, this boy made him nervous beneath it all. Sure, he had lost his composure but the boy had seen right through the quick mask he'd assembled. Saw right to core of his pain.
Somehow he felt his smile dissolve before he felt anything else. He felt himself sulk. He had never cried. When his dog died, that was the last time. Crying was too painful and it was immature and rude as his father had said. His face traveled to the ground and he smiled again, his voice slightly hurt this time, "What on earth do you mean?"

That had been a slip...he recognized it as a slip...like the ones his mother often made when she would talk about her deceased husband, Jaden's father. What sort of pain did this boy hide? Not that it was any of the blond boy's business anyway...
"You just looked upset." He said softly, again gnawing at his bottom lip. Nervous habit. "I'm Jaden Dehaan, by the way, who might you be?" He rather strongly resisted the temptation to bow at the waist...just because of the surroundings and all. But he hadn't paid all that much attention to said surroundings...entirely distracted by the British teen in front of him.
