"Indeed." she took another drink of water. "I would have to say that accruing knowledge with no real intent to share it with anyone, or use it for the good of others directly is selfish. Now, if you gather knowledge to do ill, I can't judge."
It didn't matter to her.
"Either way, I gather knowledge for my own pleasure."

"Mmmm. Interesting thought about it...." Lowering his head, he took a few more slow drinks of the cold water before lifting his head again. "Why do you have such an interest in stories? There has to be more about it than just wanting to share it with others and gaining knowledge for your own pleasure. I just can't see why you would want to go about your life doing it is all...."
It was true though. He couldn't see why someoen would want to go around for all their life collecting stories along the way and do nothing else. "Don't you have other things you wish to do with your life? Besides gathering stories?"

She shrugged. Dreams don't always come true, milord. Sometimes, it's better to wish they could, when you're powerless to change them. Better to stay in a world of fantasy than face up to the harsh reality that you can't change the world, isn't it? But she didn't say anything. "Perhaps. Nothing in this world has been inspiring enough for me to want to do more. I think I gather stories, waiting until they can be of use to another. I'm not worried about being the forefront of anything special. I would be content to be an advisor, to have enough wisdom to be able to help someone worthy. A humble dream, I know. But a pleasant one."

"In this world? Then what other world is there that might have something inspireing enough? The world of the dead? Pah. If there's only worthwhile things in the world of the dead then I'd rather die now and forgo this life of drudgery." He tail snapped to the left before it fell loose and hung against the back of his hinde legs.
"That is a pretty good dream. But just being an advisor can't be worthwhile much in the end. There's only so much you can help someone with...." His black eyes lidded lightly as he turned his head back towards the water and lowered it. Though he didn't take a drink yet. "You should live your life the way you want, but might I suggest liveing for yourself first before you condone yourself to a life of being nothing more than a book of knowledge to someone."

She smiled. He had a point. Violet eyes watched the water speed past, traveling on its destination. How long would it take? Before she found someplace she wanted to speed to, with all the haste of this water? She stayed silent, before dropping her nose back into the water and taking a sip. The silence was thoughtful, as she took Mozenrath's words and contemplated.

It seemed he had silenced her with his words. Either she was contimplateing what he had just said or he didn't know what else. He had a habit of making her silent easily. Not exactly sure why, but it happened more often than it did with any other Soquili he had spoken to. Strange.
He lowered his head a bit more and took a few more sips of the water. His tail flicking back and forth thoughtfully as he drank. Moistening his throat with the cold water. After a few minutes, he lifted his head and looked at her. "Being a book to someone is an easy thing if you had the knowledge they seek. But what happens when you don't have that knowledge or it's out dated? Will you be put aside and left on a shelf? I don't really see much of a life in that, really."
Mozenrath's ears twitched breifly as he thought about it. Rolling the thought over in his mind. "Though, unlike books I suppose, you can increase whatever knowledge more and keep it more up to date. So even then perhaps it wouldn't be too bad. But that's beside the point really. You need to take care of yourself before you can be of any use to others. If you had things that you would have wanted to done, but then started that life as nothing more than an advisor, you'll be kicking yourself and regretting not doing whatever it is that you wanted or should of done."

"You have this habit of making me think." she said finally, with a little laugh. "I understand that you seem to be thinking I should look for more, but milord..." how should she explain? "You're telling me to seek something I have not found the desire to seek. No one has told me... 'Go out. Find something ELSE.'" She shook her head, causing the wet ends of her veil to send a slight spray.
"This odd world, where everything is... familiar, but unfamiliar, the only things I have found that makes my blood stir here is my stories. It is.... bland. Dull. There are no fine gems or jewels, I have no servants. This very form is somehow alien to me. I feel like I was snatched up by a Djinn and placed in a world that instead of being a desert of the earth, is a desert to the senses. As beautiful as everything here is, there is nothing that intrigues me. Nothing to capture my soul. It makes me... lethargic."
Where was the music to dance? She could almost feel on the breeze the drums she had once danced to, smell the sweets, the incense. The servants to brush her long, dark hair, paint the kohl around her eyes, bathe pale flesh. She had been adorned in gems, and sheer, soft cloth. Not fur that scratched, and attracted insects, in a tent of hide (if she was lucky that night). Her entire world was that dream, and she... she was trapped someplace cold and cruel to her.
But never would she admit it.
"You tell me to seek something more. Milord, I wouldn't know where to begin. Have any hints?"

He gave a slight shrug of his shoulders at her reply. "I prefer to have semi intellectual conversations with people than just 'hey how you doing?' 'oh I'm good, thanks'. After a while if you don't spice it up a bit conversations get boring and flat." As her veil sent a light spray of water, he turned his head slightly to avoid the majority of it that came his way.
A single eyebrow raised as she talked about this land and how lethargic it made her. He understood, slightly. "Then why not seek out something that makes you feel comfortable? Something to intrigue your sense. Perhaps, something that reminds you of how it should be or how it feels it should be to you. A familiar thing."
Though, he wasn't exactly sure what she felt was missing and made her feel alien to this place. "Or perhaps....just return to where it is you came. If this place does not feel right to you then why stay here?"

She gave a small snort. "I have thought about it." she murmured. I have traveled a day in every direction. No place looks familiar. I am terrified to move, in fear that I will go the wrong way, and end up as a beast of burden. I'm meant for more than that." her words were said with no small amount of conviction. But she grew silent again. "In any case, milord Mozenrath..." she bent her head, and her forelegs, gracefully lowering herself in a bit of a bow. "It has been an honor."

He gave a slight chuckle to her words and tilted his head slightly to look at her. "You can't be afraid of going the wrong way. Sometimes the wrong way is the right way in all actuality. If you do not try then what point is there to it all? Fearing the unknown should not be something that lingers in your mind."
An eyebrow raised curiously as she gave a bow. His tail gave a quick flick before he lowered his head slightly. "I guess this means you will be taking your leave from my company then?"

She nodded. "I will keep that in mind, milord." she said simply. As to his other question, she tilted her head. "Unfortunately, I think so. After all, you seem like a very busy stallion, and I hesitate to keep you from your plans. Besides." she raised a brow. "I have to figure out which way is north. It's hard to travel when you don't even know which way you are going, isn't it?"

"Just because it seems like I'm busy doesn't mean I don't have time to mingle with others for long periods of time. My plans are slow coming and won't be happening anytime soon. So I have more than enough time for anyone who wants to take advantage of it." He lifted his head and gave his neck a small stretch. Turning his head, he looked about.
"When it is night time, I'd suggest you seek out the North star. It's the brightest star in the sky and it will lead you in that direction. If it's during the day time, try to use your instincts and go in the direction the coldest winds come from." Taking a few steps back, he turned so that his side was facing her but his head was still turned to look at her dead on. "Good luck on whatever adventures you might come across in your traveling north then. Though I myself wouldn't want to go that way. It's much too cold right now."
