Crim` gazed to the area that Kata gestured towards. He narrowed his eyes, a curious expression on his face. "What is that...?" he asked in a whisper , lowering himself a bit more.

Little did the two know they were being watched ever since entering the forest. A mysterious entity observed through cold optics, ruby beacons flashed as an arm rose, a small sound resembling that of a silenced pistol was heard from the bushes and in a split second a small object flew at the tree that the pinkhaired man had just vaulted off of. The object was a tan color and seemed like a sort of clay; due to it's material it stuck to the tree's trunk about 7 feet off the ground upon colliding with it. The one thing about the otherwise bland object that stood out was the blinking red light seemingly implanted in it, the blinking interval quickening by the second.

Suddenly...

Boom!

A powerful explosion would ignite the area in a flash and sever the tree from it's trunk.

Kat's eyes jerked up as the small object hit the tree. She stared at it for a moment curiously wondering what it was. Suddenly, it exploded, and she threw herself to the ground. The blast wasn't particularly powerful, and she glanced upwards at where it had been. Course, where it had been had once been a tree. And now, that tree was falling. Right where she laid. She quickly rolled to the side, out of range, then grabbed her fallen trident and pulled it to her as the tree fell on the place where she had just been.

"Whatever it is." She called to Crim, "It's hostile." Her time on Team Bizarro Obvious had served her well.

Crim` jumped back away from the tree, taking a defensive stance as he tried desperately to look through the falling debris of the tree and the remnants of smoke from the explosion. He quickly reached into his jacket with his right hand, drawing his combat knife from it's hidden sheathe and then quickly dashed to another nearby tree, pulling himself around it and dropping to a bent knee with his back to it.

"Yeah... It's using incindiary weapons and there's a good chance it's got guns... Take cover and stay low."

Who was it? Thoughts raced through Crim's mind of any possible adversary he had run across in his many adventures. Offending dangerous people was something he had a knack for; Though this was not a skill he was proud of.

Silence came from the direction of the mysterious being, no signs of life. Had it fled?

Kat had propped herself up on her hands and was scanning for their attacker when she heard Crim's warning about guns. She grunted in annoyance, but it was sound advice as she was currently lying flat across the things view. She flipped herself over the tree which had nearly fallen on her and lay behind it, pulling a magnum out of her bra. Now would be a bad time to practice using a trident.

She pulled herself into a low crouch behind the fallen tree, and peered over the top, magnum in hand, scanning for the attacker.

Meanwhile, Seven was still on the third floor. He heard something from the forest and had his attention drawn away from his explorations. He could either continue, or go check out the exploding things. Not much of a choice.

He turned back to the rubble and reached for his magnifying glass. He walked to an area that his duckies seemed to be delibrately avoiding. There was a small clear puddle in the midst of a pile of metal. It was odd, the debris here was almost a perfect circle, as if the liquid was delibrate.

Seven reached out to grab a piece of wood to prod the puddle. It almost instantaneously combusted. Intrigued, and shaking his hand violently to put out the fire that had caught his glove, he found something else to play with. He pulled a metal pole out of the liquid and promptly dropped it into his left hand. It was hot, despite only being half submerged. The half that had been submerged was pressed against the ground, and it bent easily, molten metal dripping onto the floor.

Deduction time: Liquid heat, causes spontaneous wood combustion; Delibrately pooled over a metal floor/cieling; Metal melts, but is still holding rather nicely; Explosion in the woods.

"Oh sheet! We're under attack!" As many know, he too was once on Bizzaro Team Obvious. And with that, he runs down to the second floor yelling.

The assailant moved in the shadows, it being evening and getting darker. It's dark coloring masked it's prescence as it took a position behind a thicket of bushes. It raised it's right arm; Mounted onto what would be it's forearm was a specialized gun that seemed like a long-barreled shotgun built into it's very arm. The assailant let out three quick shots in Kata's direction, the high-caliber rifle ammunition ripping through the top of the fallen tree. It aimed directly at the little bit of orange hair it could spy when Kata decided to take a look over the trunk.

Crim`, still behind a nearby tree narrowed his eyes as he heard the loud shots.

"Damnit, this thing isn't playing around..." he said to himself as he reached to the back of his belt with his right hand, removed a metallic throwing knife and held it between his fingers.

Luckily, gun shots make alot of noise in the bush, especially to an attentive catgirl, and Kat quickly lay flat on her stomach behind the cover of the tree, one of the bullets just grazing through her hair.

"Damnit Crim!" She yelled out, "Stop being right!" At least now she had an idea where it was. She slide her hand and her gun over the top of the tree trunk and, gun laying flat against the tree, fired a quick shot in the direction she thought the shots had come from.

She quickly pulled her arm back down and crawled along the length of the tree on her elbows, until she was in the area where the tree thinned out into branches. There, peeking out amongst the leaves, she fired several more shots out where she thought she'd heard the machine before, then quickly slide back towards the trunk. No use letting the machine find her the same way she found it, she thought as she peered out a gap left in the branches.

Seven continues down to the kitchen and collects a few ginzu knives. He also searches around for as many metal bowls as possible, and a ladel. Three bowls later, and a belt full of knives and a ladel, and back upstairs he goes.

He moves straight to the puddle and begins scooping the strange liquid into the metal bowls. He only puts a small amount, in case he screws up. Wouldn't want the whole forest going up. Not that he knew how much of this stuff it would take to do that.

Attempting to use his powers to give flight to himself and the bowls, there was an error. The bowls weren't quite the same kind of metal that was resisting the puddle, which caused them to spill across the floor. Seven now had a fire to deal with. Luckily an entire floor, with whatever made floors not give you splinters, didn't burn like the piece of wood he had earlier.

(And Now it's time for Wheel of Fortune!)
(2,7,9)
After finishing with the bowls Seven sat back in a meditative trance. As he concentrated his ducks returned. One sat on each bowl, and four landed on Seven's arms. Seven began to concentrate more deeply and a faint purple glow stretched out of both Seven and the ducks. After a few moments Seven and his bowls were in the air, flying in the direction of the explosion he heard earlier. [Will only have flight a max of seven posts]

(4,6,10)
Seven called his duck minions to him. They surrounded him and the bowls and soon, they all took flight. This was very unstable, and would most likely end up with Seven in pain.

Audible echoes of the collission of Kata's bullets and the assailants reinforced exoskeleton filled the air of the forest as Kata's bullets bounced off of the well-defended foe. Mere dents were the only effect left by even Kata's high-caliber ammunition. The attacker ejected a cartridge, reloading with a long magazine and cocking back the hammer of the large gun it wielded. It then raised it's other arm as it lowered the main weapon. A cuff surrounding it's wrist would soon transform, a short-barreled machinegun flipping into it's gloved hand from under it's forearm.

Crim` slid the throwing knife he had just drawn back into his belt sheath.

That won't work.

He moved around the tree, diving along the ground and landing in a slide near Kata.

"I really don't feel like playing around with someting like this now. Whatever that thing is normal attacks won't work but everything has a weakpoint... Look for it." said Crim` laying on the ground close to Kat, staying low so the attacker wouldn't know he'd moved. "I know you're good enough to do it. Toss me a gun, I'll cause a distraction and it should give you enough time to look for it's vital spot and hit it..."

Seven was glad that the base was equipped to handle emergency fires. He hesitated to use the equipment tho. So far everything he did caused problems. Considering the top floor was mostly burnt out anyway, and the building design made sure that the other floors would stay fine.

So Seven just let the fire... fire. He ran from the blaze and dove out a window. Luckily, when it was just him, the whole 'flight' thing was a lot simpler. In a flurry of feathers he was carried, by duckies, over the battlefield. He drew one of the knives he had picked up and kept an eye open. He could see where the tree had exploded, but the trees were making the enemy hard to find.

Kat handed her gun to Crim, and pulled a second magnum from her bra.

"Don't get yourself killed." She whispered. "And don't break that gun."

She peered out of the gap left in the branches to where she thought the machine was. The dying light made harder to see, even for her sharp eyes. It took her several seconds to find the grey blur that was the machine. However, even as she stared at it, she realized this wasn't going to work. She was no mechanic, and in this bad light she'd be lucky to spot a thing.

She reached out and grabbed Crim's arm before he could do anything. "Change of plans." She whispered. "YOU hit the weakpoint, I'll fix the lighting."

Covering her fire ring with her right hand to hide the glow, she concentrated on the area the machine was hidden. It took more effort than normal for her, since generally she summoned her fire a little closer. However, within a few seconds, the bushes surrounding the creature were completely ablaze, revealing it clearly against the flames. She quickly snatched up her gun again and crouched to the gap. She hoped Crim could find it's weakpoint, but if he failed, maybe she'd have a better chance with the better light.

Hit by a burst of flame as the bushes surrounding it went up, the attacking thing crouched low on reverse-jointed legs as the flames seemed to blanket it and unleashed a supernatural leap into the trees as the hydraulics in it's legs released steam from the dual pistons on each side of it's outer-thighs, embers falling from it's frame as it rose into the sky. It would land with a harsh thud on the very fallen trunk that Kata and Crim` lay low behind, in front of them no less. It's robotic 'hooves' bent and clasped around the circumfrence of it. Now, the two would have what would be the first up close look at it.

It was an abomination of science clearly, a creature greyish blue in color, a powered-exoskeleton that showed little if any signs of natural earthly(or is it Gaialy?)traits. It's torso, lengthy and thin was composed of a high-density armor that seemed to bend with it as it moved; It's arms and legs, also much longer than human standards were large and covered in the same malleable yet tough material, most notably the thigh-region of the abomination's legs which housed some sort of special pistons, the same that enabled it to execute such a leap. It gazed down coldly through a ruby-colored visor at the two.

And so after a few moments it would raise it's machinegun-arm and begin spraying bullets as it swept it's arm sideways toward the two as the bullets riddled the ground in front of it with bulletholes and sent dust flying upward.

Crim` would use the pause between the creature's gaze and it's assault to let off two quick shots with the revolver toward it's chest.

"No good..." he said, pushing himself up and running away quickly.

Blood. A tear of material. A tear of flesh. Bulletholes. The man dove behind another bush, gripping his left side as blood poured from the newly opened wound.

"Son of a... b***h..." he said as he rolled over on his side as the creature's muzzleflashes and the flames Kata had caused lit the air. He gritted his teeth, gripping the wound with his right hand as the pain intensified, the magnum in his left also gripped tightly by gloved fingers. He lay there struggling with the pain.

Between the fire, the jump, and the machine gun, Seven now knew where everyone was. At least in general. The creature looked strange, but from Seven's viewpoint all he knew was Crim shot it and now there was blood. There was a chance it was Crim's but it was about time to join this battle anyway.

He took a second knife from his belt, three left, and was suddenly diving headfirst at the creature. Well, actually, knives first. If this thing didn't move, he'd be hitting it with a lot of force. Even if the knives didn't penetrate the exoskelleton, it would have some effect. Like breaking Seven's arms.

Well this was certainly a stupid idea.

Kat, already looking for the creature, followed it up with her eyes. She fell back to her hands as landed on the trunk, and stared at the it, and it's gun. This was going to be bad. Crim's shots bounced off it's chest and she realized that her trident was beneath her hand.

There was no time to think as it began to fire, so she did the first thing she could think of. Grabbing the trident, she swung it at the gun, knocking it towards Crim. ((This is either why Crim got shot, or just had little effect as the thing was already turning it towards him.)) She then thrust her fire ring against the creatures torso, and used all her power to blast it with fire at point blank range. Hopefully this would work, or at least soften the metal enough for another attack to pierce it. If it didn't work, she was just royally screwed.

An ambush attack from an unknown attacker was soon upon the creature. Seven's knives would bounce off of the creature's tough exoskeleton armor like nothing but in the end Seven's momentum did cause the creature to budge a bit, knocking it forward, off balance and toward Kata long enough to be easily overtaken by her firey close-range attack.

The creature jerked back soon after, the intense blast of fire heating it's metallic components to a high degree suddenly. It would stop firing, swinging it's arms outward madly to try and swat Kata and Seven away and then it would leap backward about 15 feet away from the trunk. Two small compartments at the sides of it's torso would open followed by four small marble-like objects hitting the ground surrounding it. A thick smoke would soon emit from the round objects, filling the air surrounding the creature quickly.

When the smoke would clear, the creature would be gone as if it had dissappeared into thin air, the only remnants would be it's clawmarks in nearby trees. The trail would soon be lost to anyone who would track it.

Crim` looked upward, his hair falling over his eyes slightly as he lay on his stomach and still clutched his wound. "She did it." he whispered, his voice weak.
