"You do not understand, it cannot leave the water, even if I wanted to give it to you." Tariel explained, but then pulled one of her necklaces over her head. It was a seashell, that looked just like the shell necklaces that most Naiad who chose to live near the land wear.

Tariel held the small shell to her lips, and quietly sang a few notes before tapping it against the giant globe. A swirl made of different hues and tones of blue surrounded the spot where the glass was tapped and it was obviously visible when a sparkling blue trail slipped into the shell. Tariel held the necklace out by the chain, letting the shell dangle in front of Belvah.

"I want your lovely silver hair. If you agree, you can take this shell to the Earthmother as proof that you at least seen the Water Element. But you will have to hurry, for the water magic contained within expires in two hours."

If Belvah agrees, the moment she touches the shell will cause her hair to disappear.

"I see.." She nodded, mildly disappointed that she couldn't return the element of water back with her like she had planned. But then, Queen Tariel pulled a necklace off of her neck.

Belvah watched as the sparkling blue traced into the shell. What she would give to take that back. It took a moment to sink in that the queen was asking for her hair.. Surely Rais would love her just the same without it right?

The faun bit her lip, reaching up to touch a lock of the silver hair she was so very proud of. "I'll be bald?" She wasn't looking for an answer. It was hard to give up something she took great care of. But Rais and the rest of the faun were more important right? Squeezing her eyes shut tight she made her choice.

"I just have one question, how long will it take me to swim to the surface?" It didn't matter, she could run on land, but the water.. She didn't want the time to expire in the water. That was her weakest point, the swimming. But without all her hair it would be quicker right? Belvah could only hope.

Tariel smiled sweetly, "You will lose your hair yes. Not your fur, I do not want that."

"And how long it takes for you to get to the surface is your decision. It could take hours, it could take minutes. If you are taking my magic, I cannot help you to the surface."

"Does the magic wear off while I'm still in the water?" she asked, still set on taking the necklace, but she didn't want to waste her lovely hair on something that won't last to the surface.. Belvah shook her head. It was just hair, it would grow back right?

"I'll take it." She said, closing her eyes and inhaling deeply. She only needed the moment to ready herself for what she was sure was going to be a very hard swim. Her silvery fingers reached out for the beautiful shell necklace floating gently in front of her. It should be a straight swim straight to the top right? That wasn't the point, she had to get this necklace back to Earthmother, and quick. She hadn't touched it yet, still bracing herself for the oncoming baldness. The thought honestly made her shudder, but now wasn't the time for it.

Tariel grinned a grin most wicked as she watched Belvah reach for the necklace. She strummed her fingers against each other, eagerly anticipating the trade.

"From the moment you touch it, you have two hours. No more, no less."

While Belvah's eyes remained closed, Tari snapped her fingers and hummed quietly. The water outside of the throne room began to swirl as creatures started swarming.

She nodded wrapping her fingers around the necklace finally. "Thank you Queen Tariel." She smiled, eyes open as she started to swim. First out of the entrance, only to pause as she saw creatures swarming around the temple. Of course, it was just to make her swim up harder right? Belvah started swimming after her short pause. She didn't have the time to waste, even on such adorable creatures.

Bald headed, and very much rushed, she raced for the surface, trying not to run over the strange things. What were they doing anyways? They weren't there when she entered the throne room.

Tariel flashed a toothy grin and snapped her fingers again. All of the little creatures that had been stirring outside of the temple revealed themselves to be merely Aquatl fairies. Same species as Mellons, but with fins instead of feet.

They swarmed around Belvah, creating a small whirlpool which worked to propel the faun upwards while maintaining pressure so she wouldn't get sick when she reached the surface.

She realized what happened, and was very thankful for it. Mostly she didn't say a thing because she didn't have the time. She was busy swimming with the whirlpool. Minutes, just like Tariel had predicted. Thank the great tree that Queen Tariel was so very kind.. But then it was such wonderful hair she had given up for this treasure..

She tried swimming to the side, headed for the edge of the water, but not the top. The top was second. Surprisingly the little Aquatl fairies obliged and she had managed to break through the surface decently close to the shore.

"Thank you!" She called to both the queen and the fairies that helped her. As quickly as she could, Belvah started at top speed for the shore, and back to the tree. It was a very very long run ahead of her, but she felt that she could handle it.
