Something to consider:

When you're burning calories, you're not burning fat directly, you're burning sugar.
Your body does, however, convert fats into sugars if you don't have enough readily on hand.
So you can't get skinny by killing yourself on DDR a couple times and calling it good.
The best way to lose fat through DDR is to play a few songs, take a break, drink some water, and play some more, on and off.

Thank you! mrgreen I was afraid to say fat without knowing for sure. but yea. Sugar burns first, next Protien, then other Carbs like pasta and what not, and then fat. that's why is so hard to burn fat. Sugar and Protein burn the quickest, and Carbs. the slowest. Fat is slow, but not as fast as that mountin of spagetii. -licks lips- wink

What you don't get is that it all depends on how much you weigh. Heavy ppl burn more calories as they exercise, and so when you put your weight in, the program calculates it out for you. So yes, you can burn more than 50 kcal on 9 feet if you weigh more than 130# or so....and people CAN lose weight on light mode, they just have to dance for longer than ppl dancing on standard or heavy, again depending on their weight. Your BMR+exercise has to out do your intake by 3500 kcal to lose 1#. The safest way to lose weight and keep it off it to shoot for 1 to 1.5 pounds per week.
I lost 35# over 6months with diet and DDR 300-400kcal per day 7d a week and I've been doing it for 3 years to keep the weight off. Now I can play with some of the best kids in the state, even though I'm old enough to be their Mom. I don't place in the tournaments, but I can make it to the second tier.

I weigh 190 lbs. I get around 30-35 calories out of most 9's. The person I was quoting was very much exaggerating, unless they're like twice my size or something.
