Good episode Saturday. It refreshes you on what Stand Alone Complex means and kicks off the story. Plus there is a samurai guy in it who goes all super samurai on them before running off (he gets shot about 20 times and then manages to run off). Still lovin' the series.

The opening for the first season did a good job introducing, or reintroducing for those who have already seen the movie, the Section 9 team and what they stand for. The CG was also a nice touch on it and accurately displayed the story.
The Second GIG opening is just as good, but I think it does a better job portraying the season. If you notice, they all seem more secretive now instead of a publicly known agency of the government. It shows that the Section 9 we knew in Stand Alone Complex Season 1 is different this time around.
Song wise I prefere the first season's opening since I can just lay down and listen to it. Second GIG's opening is good but it's faster pace makes me want to do something dangerous like pull a gun on somebody when I listen to it.
Animation wise, Second GIG hands down. I like the new noir appearance of the characters. Its very smooth and though I wish it could have been CG like the first, I don't think it would be acurrately portrayed with it.
