The fox slowly came to. His first impression was of a gentle rocking sensation. He decided it felt nice in his groggy state of mind. He slowly opened his eyes fully and found himself looking down at the wolf man who had caught him. His terror inensified when he reliezed he was being carried over the shoulder of the bear! He didn't even have the presence of mind to scream as he promptly fainted again.

Aion winced in his own mind as the ferret pulled against his grasp. He feared the fellow would harm himself badly if he kept this up. It wasn't until the fox fainted in fear that the wolf-man hit apon an Idea. releasing the fox and allowing him to crumple to the ground he gave one great yank on the ferrets tail, pulling said person off his feet and into the Wolf-mans chest. Where apon Aion wrapped his arms around the smaller man in a giant wolf hug (would be bear....but y'know) Gently yet effectively restraining him. "I'm not gonna eat you! I'm just like you!! and your freind only fainted! CALM DOWN!!" He held on firmly until the ferret ceased his struggling, then he gently set him down. But also stood between him and his route of escape. "We're all confused here, we are trying to figure things out! We really ought to stick together until we know what's going on Okay?"

Lune hissed in acknowledgement and waited for the 'rear' of the group to form so that he could go there. His eyes traced the shapes of the panicking ones with a bored and slightly troubled glance.
"If we wanted to kill them they would already be dead wouldn't they? Sso why are they being so sstupid." Lune was obviously dealing with a slightly limited amount of patience. "As if they had much of a paradimn shift to handle... I'm not even an animal anymore... just an arachnid... with six legs instead of eight." His sigh was laced with a hiss as he closed his eyes to block out some of the stupidity. He spoke once more, whispering under his breath. "I'm not a proper anything... more monsster than bug or man."

Sabel frowns, and takes a second look at Lune and his melancholy musings. "You're still an animal. You are voluntarily mobile and take in outside food sources without manufactureing your own. Therefore you are still an animal. You're just currently somewhere between an arachnid and primate." Sabel shrugged with a slight sigh. "I'm sorry for being so skiddish, after all I'm not really one to make a fuss. Most places in their range people see hyenas as supernatural monsters. They beleive their arm will fall off if they touch one or something killed or eaten by a hyena. Also they claim hyenas mimic human voices and summon people out so they can kill and/or eat them, and they say a hyena can render immobile any creature it walks around three times. They're deemed evil creatures of witches and sorcerers." Sabel considers this a moment and snickers. "Geez, I must be a scientist or something...that or I read way too many encyclopedias..." She muses.
OOC: Yes, people really do believe those things about Hyenas. Spotted Hyenas used to be shot on sight.

The fox came around again, having only just blacked out rather than full on fainted. He quietly took stock. He twitched his ears.... yes they were still there. He quietly checked off all apendages, torso, all senses working. He figured if they had wanted to eat him..... he would have been dead long ago. The logical part of his mind slowly took over the sheer panic..... he was not a fox who dealt well with surprises.
" I.. I er won't run away," he said, " You can put me down now." The bear obliged quietly. The little fox-man sliped to the floor. He looked around at the deadly array of preditors. " Hi, I'm sorry for freaking out and everything." He caught sight of his ferret friend and felt even better. " My name.... my name is...... I can't remember my name!" he cried, feeling the panic return. He might have caught the scorpion shift in a "not again" gesture.
" Do I have a name? DO I!! DO I!!" he yelled, shaking the nearest individual....which happened to be Lune, for emphasis. When he realized this he backed off sheepishly brushing off what passed for shoulders for Lune. " I er.... sorry about that," he said as he twisted his tail in his fists looking contrite. " I promised I wouldn't freak out...."

It took Elix many moments before he calmed himself down, and when he did he was still breathing a little too fast. When he finally realized that these people didn't seem bent apon eating him right away he managed to relax enough that Aion could feel him regain his composure. "I'm Okay, ...I think..." And he waited until Aion set him down. His gaze moved to the fox, where it lingered with some concern, until that individual stirred for a second time and spoke with some semblence of calm. Elix could feel himself relax further, his white andblack fur smoothing neatly down his back. He discovered that his new state was apparently very fragile, when his fox freind freaked out again, and all of Elix's Fur frizzled out in response. His nerves were feeling decidedly thrashed at this point, and when it occured to him that he could not recall if he had a denotation either he felt like crying. As it was a small wimper squeezed past his throat before he could stop it. "S-sorry, this is all just a little new..." he muttered unhappily to no one in particular.

Hesitntly Sabel reaches out and pats the ferret on the shoulder. "It's allright, we all went through that...I'm pretty sure my denomination isn't evn my real name, but it's something to call myself." She snickers "Hey at least you seem to be walking allright, you shoulda seen some of the others when they first started." She adds conspirationally

Aion set the ferret down with a sigh of relief when the individual finally relaxed. The black wolf was still amazed at how fast and strong he was now, that hallway had seemed like nothing when he'd raced down it! Yet looking back on it now it seemed to disapear into the distance. He sighed and started to follow the rest of the group, trying to supress the urge to dash headlong down that passage again for the simple joy of it. His ears perked visably when the fox came to and requested to be set down. his eyes widened in surprise when that same red-furred creature grabbed Lune of all people when he panicked again. He couldn't help but stare, it brought home all the stronger the fact that Aion seemed more cowardly than the rest. The fox and Ferret had been startled and had panicked, and even Sabel had an understandable, even scientific reason to have feared the scorpion. But Aion was just a pathetic sniveling coward. He dropped his head in embarasment, and his timing was such that he was saved from having to drop it lower from Sabel's comment. He really was a pitiful excuse for either a beast or man.

The fox, now calm again and hearing Sabel's comment looked down at the ruddy fur of the tail he held firmly in his grasp.
" If it doesn't have to be our real name....." A sudden flash of inspiration dawned on the fox as he realized the beautiful chestnut color of his fur (minus of course the white blaze that overspread his face and chest and the white tipped tail and black legs) " I guess you can call me Chestnut. Oh and uh..... what are your names?"

Lune seemed to straighten slightly at Sabel's words, some of the melancholy seeming to lift from him. His posture was still low and he remained on all six of his legs with his head tilted slightly toward her as she spoke of hyenas. He turned his head so that he was looking straight at her and nodded once, his gratitude evident in his human pair of eyes at least.
"Thanks, if I could remember what an encyclopedia was I probably would be more impressed though." While Lune's face was not capable of smiling his eyes did take on a dim light of mirth for a moment as he spoke.
The fox's reawakening and subsequent spaz session captured Lune's attention. He didn't even try to speak through the rapid and, although fairly linear, confusing, monologue. The attempt to shake his shoulder resulted in no movement at all and he would have been only barely aware of the contact if he hadn't been watching. With both an exoskeleton and an endoskeleton his body was just too massive for the little fox to budge.
"No need to apologizze. The only reasson I didn't freak out sso much wass that I conssentrated on trying to walk upright." Lune hissed slightly in laughter. "That musst have been more fun to watch than live through."
Lune's gaze shifted to the ferret as the small male whimpered. The fact that the two of them didn't remember a use name yet was rather curious but he didn't grow worried. Sabel's comforting words elicited a small hiss of ironic amusement from Lune.
"I have no idea what my full name iss. 'Lune' iss what I vaguely remember being called at one time. That iss all I have to go on. And Ssabel is right. The fact that you can already move around sso well iss very good. I... am sstill having difficulty walking upright." Lune couldn't smile to make his improving humor obvious but his eyes did seem to convey an amount of amusement.
His attention then was called back to the fox as he seemed to decide on a name for himself. Hmmm... Chestnut eh. Not bad. I doubt that I would have been able to come up with a name so easily without memory fragments to aid me. Lune didn't move beyond nodding slightly at Chestnut.
"A good name. It is a pleasure."

"A good name. It is a pleasure." " Thanks!" Chestnut replied enthusiastically, his naturally ADD personality reasserting itself. Lune might look scary but he was still human on the inside right? Hmm human.... is that what he had been before? It seemed right. This thought along with the scorpion's humor did wonders for the flighty little fox. He even looked kindly on the wolf-man who had caught him.
" Um... hey, what about you?" he asked the ferret-man when he caught sight of him towards the back. " You and I woke up about he same time... do you remember a name?"

"Ah, that's right, you missed my little introductory spiel," the bear called back to the fox, listening in on the scattered conversations. "I'm pretty sure I'm Thomas."
They had nearly reached Sanctuary without incident when the air seemed to become slightly thicker without warning, and all those with a heightened sense of smell immediately noticed a strong scent that was both familiar, and disturbingly enticing (to the carnivores at least). Covering his nose with a paw, Thomas grimaced in dismay, his eyes widening. This certainly hadn't been here when he'd passed on the way out! One of the others that had gone out on round-up duty must have met an unfortunate obstacle...
Gingerly avoiding a viscuous crimson puddle that had spread across the floor, he examined the body, which he barely recognized as a bovine girl he'd met briefly in Sanctuary; she was torn up savagely and much of her flesh was gone, large soft eyes staring blankly up at the cieling. Thomas decided it would be best to move past this spot quickly lest their more skittish members get too upset by it, but as he ushered the group around it without comment he knew that some of them might pick up on what he had, even though they hadn't seen how the strange ceatures left their victims.
This wasn' done by the monsters. It was one of us...

Aion walked sedately behind Thomas and the others, smiling at the fox when said person seemed finally calm in his presence. As they were walking however, a ver distinctive scent reached his sensitive nose, He raised his head and his ears perked foreward. This unusual and faintly metalic smell was unusually appetizing, it made his mouth water and his stomach protest the lack of sustenance, it wasn't until the mangled body came into veiw that Aion realized exactly the implications of his own thoughts. He stared, and began shaking uncontrollably. In his own mind he screamed at himself, the other people present might mistake his spasms for horror or fear, but Aion knew it was himself resisting the urge to sink his teeth into the corpse at his feet. He couldn't seem to get the thought out of his head! Part of him seemed disapointed that the beast wasn't still running away or breathing. With a whimper he backed up behind Lune, anything to block the sight from his hungry gaze, but nothing could keep the scent from his nostrils.

Elix felt that he had finally completely calmed down, he turned towards the newly named Chestnut, "A name? I think so...." He paused and thought for a few moments, "ah,..f....Elix. I think my name was Elix." He answered with a smile, suddenly an odd smell reached his nose, sniffing the air he realized it didn't smell half bad, kinda appetizing. He glanced around and noted that he wasn't the only one to smell something. He followed the gazes of the others as he walked, until he spotted for himself the butchered Anthropomorph. It took Elix about two seconds to realize what it was, and another 20 before his mind enightened him as to the probable cause of death. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH" He screamed, dashing back down the hallway, "THEY ARE GONNA EAT US!!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH" He screamed, dashing back down the hallway, "THEY ARE GONNA EAT US!!" Chestnut stuck out one furred hand " Nice to meet you Elix!" he said enthusiastically. Everyone started to move forward for a time and the fox followed, content to be in between the bear and the scorpion (feeling it was probably the safest place). After walking for some time he became aware of a tantelizing scent that made his mouth water. Distracted by the scent he ran into the Thomas' solid back with a dull *Wumph* when the bear came to a sudden halt.
" What's the hold up?" he asked innocently as he made his way around the bear. He stood stock still trying to process the gruesome sight, but when Elix' cool was shattered all reasoning capacity ceased. He screamed and dashed for cover behind Thomas. He encountered a solid object. The force of the impact threw him to the cold metal floor.
" THEY GOT ME!!!" he shouted as he checked himself for wounds. " Elix? Are you all right?" He asked as he scrambled to his feet, almost blind with terror.
