I don't think she was talking about you, Miss Onyx. sweatdrop
My friend was supposed to give blood a couple weeks ago (not sure if he did, though blaugh ). Apparently, instead of a needle, they're doing a narrow, high-pressure air cannnon. eek From what I hear, it's more effective, and can either hurt more or less. sweatdrop

Lol, point missed, peoples.
Hihg pressured air cannon? Is that like...gonna shoot the blood out of you or something? Or is it gonna create a vacuum to suck the blood out?

Sounds fun to watch. twisted
And I'm not exactly sure what's with the mechanics of the air thingy... sweatdrop I think you're right about the vaccum, though.

Isn't that exactly what a syringe does?

...I thought needle was the pointy part, and.. syringe was the tube part.

No, I think you're right about that. I think the syringe is the device, and the needle is part of the device. 3nodding

I guess it doesn't matter... they're scary whether you call it a needle or syringe.

I think syringe is a scarier term... ninja
There's a word that makes me cringe. I think that thing's called a syringe.

Anyway, A syringe creates a vacuum too. When you pull the thing back, the way it sucks the blood out is because pulling it back creates a vacuum that the blood must fill. Like a blackhole has to suck in things.
