Another smile, and then Luna glanced over her shoulder. Could you do me a favor? I'm going to head out for a sec; I'm going to go get those pills for you. When the waitress returns, give her this. Luna set a small credit card on the table. You don't need to do anything with it. And it'll take about ten minutes.
A long pause.
Something's happening. We're not going to get time to sightsee, after all.
With that, she stood up.

"Okay." Elle took the card. When Luna was gone and the waitress came back, Elle gave her the card and tried to finish the food. She was curious about this 'something's happening' buisness. What could be happening now, after such a short time?!

It took precisely twelve minutes for Luna to return, bottle of pills in hand and looking fairly pale.
We have to go. Now.

I'm not allowed to say, Luna explained a bit sheepishly. But I do have instructions for these pills. Each pill will synthesize a pint of blood when taken internally. It takes a little time to work, so don't take two if you don't feel full right away. Wait an hour.
She moved to grab Elle's wrist, breaking into a jog. We have to hurry. They're closing the gate soon.

"Wow. Amazing stuff." Elle jogged after Luna. Now she was even more curious than before! But she didn't want to be stuck here either, and she was sure that if it was that urgent, then she'd notice it.

Through the crowd of Neilani clamoring to return home. Past the security guards. Try not to faint!

No longer was Luna jogging. Now, she was walking purposefully, keeping a tight grip on Elle's hand as if to keep her walking upright all by herself.

"You kids're lucky," the guard on duty murmured, shaking his head in vague amusement. "We just got the order to close up. Talk about a shock, eh?"
Luna swallowed, nodding shakily. It was a damn good thing, too! It wasn't that she didn't want to be stuck in Neilan, but at the same time...
At the same time, she was told in no uncertain terms that she belonged on THIS side of the portal right now.

"Okay. So... I guess this is it for today? The pills sound amazing though." Elle grinned weakly and glanced upwards. Lazer beams weren't raining down through roof and ceiling so it wasn't quite so bad as she'd imagined at first.
