Does a lot of reading turn you off from roleplaying? |
Yes, I don't feel like reading a whole story before I can get the idea of what the Rp is about. |

Orpheus looked up as the other spoke, but his hazel eyes soon returned to his plate. He didn't really mind what he ate - he had never been a picky eater. He took his plate to a table and sat down. He ate slowly and in silence, not even trying to communicate with anyone else.
The lunch lady sighed and raised an eyebrow. "Well, alright, then, if it's that important to you. Tonight's only casserole because the new ingridiants haven't come yet -- they're late." She was obviously quite angry about that because she let out a soft 'hmmph' and crossed her arms over her chest moodily - she had alreayd put the ladel down, luckily. "The ingridiants should arive by tomorow morning. And if they don't...." She cut herself off and sighed deeply. "Anyway, I suppose you'll have to make due with what we do have for the time being.

Grinning happily, he pumped his fist in the air and let out a "Woot!" During his "Friends" era, the episodes where Joey let out his stress by making pasta sauce inspired Shay to do something similar to that when he felt down or stressed. The downcast aura and general depressiveness(excluding Aiden) of RRC had started to put him in a foul mood; maybe the food would break down the barriers the other guys had and allow them to be friends. One could only hope.
He happily smirked at the cafeteria lady, wanting to show he had no hard feelings about the food. Vowing to eat at least a little bit of the casserole (since they didn't have any fruit left), he turned and started walking towards the tables.
His body had other plans as he collapsed to the floor and face-planted into the casserole, fast asleep.

((I'm guessing you're a fellow Lovegood fan? xDDD
Although I do beleive it's a Crumple-Horned Snorkack. ninja ))
Orpheus looked up at the sound of clattering - the tray falling - and then a loud splat as the other took a nose dive into the unchoise selection of lunch. Frowning softly, he stood up slowly. The other was new, and so he didn't know him. Had he... died or something? Was it just a show? Was the casserole really that bad? All these questions and more raced through the young teen's mind as he stood up slowly.
He should stay away from others, he knew, but his curiostiy had always been able to get the best of his judgement. He set his tray down silently and then strode over to the other, bending down and prodding him on the shoulder.
"Hey. You. Are you alright?" He turned him over so that he was no longer in danger of suffocating in his lunch and frowned softly. He was breathing, so he wasn't dead. But he was unconscious. What the hell was wrong with this guy?!?

"Thats a given..." He agreed and then was about to say something abit more snide but Abby thankfully interupted him and he silenced himself.
He only gave a faint nod to Abby before he sighed slightly and ran a hand through his hair. He wasn't even there a full hour yet and already he had made an 'enemy'. So much for starting off stress free. He looked to Aiden and then the thought of real food reentered his mind. The snickers just hadn't cut it. On the thought of food, Tristan looked over and noticed that Seamus was already a step ahead of him and standing on line. He thought about joining him but decided against it when he took in a small wiff of the cassarole. He would wait and hope for better luck at dinner.
He took a step towards Seamus and opened his mouth to ask about what he had said to the lunch aid when he suddenly found the boy splayed on the ground before him. At first he thought the boy had done it on purpose for some oddball reason and crouched down beside him with a small chuckle. He glanced up at the other boy who had asked if Seamus was alright and his amused look started to fade when he realized that Seamus was not responding.... and his face was in the cassarole.
"What the...?" Tristan reached down and pulled Seamus up and out of the cassarole. He was alarmed to find the boy surprisingly limp.
"Uh... Seamus?"
He looked to Aiden with a puzzled expression. "Is this what you meant by "sleepy boy'?

Aiden looked up as he heard a loud clatter and 'plop.' He joined the other two, making no effort to hurry - after all, he already had two others helping him. "Yeah..." he said slowly as he reached the sceen. He stopped, leaning back slightly and placing his pale hands in the pockets of his dark jeans.
"I think he has some sort of disease or whatever that makes him sleep at random intervals. Weird, huh?" he drawled, his tone indicating that he had already lost interest. A guy that fell asleep like that just did not hold any appeal for the pink-haired, hormonal teenager.
"It's called Narcolepsy," Orpheus said blandly, his voice barely audible. He brushed overly long, black bangs away from his slightly glazed eyes before looking up at the others. "I think I know his room number... I guess I'll... take him there...." 'Maybe.' Orpheus wasn't very fond of strangers. Not any more. And everyone at the RRC was were still strangers to. All the other boys, at least....
He had made a habbit of sticking to the shadows and quiet spots - avoiding any group activities. And that pink-haired freak was the worst of them. He had singles the gothic teen out on the first day and wouldn't leave him alone until.... He couldn't remember when the other had stopped. Abby had probably told him something what everyone seemed to think had happened to him.
But nothing was wrong with him. He wasn't traumatized. He didn't have any problems like the rest of those freaks. He was normal - even if he was a little bit depressed. He... he didn't belong here.
((I love Orpheus. x3 heart
Tortured/mental cases are just soooo much fun.))

((alright, Shay being out of comission is actually a good thing right now, since I'm going to be gone until Friday. Yay Kairos! xd So do what you will with his body (lol, that sounded kinky, but just have someone put him in his room or something) and I'll pick it back up Friday night.
Orpheus is rather cute, though; the hidden psycho-ness is adorable. And I heart Luna Lovegood. And I feel really stupid right now about the mixup with the snorkacks, but I guess it's more original this way, ne?
And good luck with your test Decadence! We'll be rootin' for you! 3nodding ))

"Weird... is an understatement around this place." Tristan sighed and then looked to the voice that spoke next. It was the gothic kid. After a quick glance over the other boy, Tristan grimaced mentally and had to look away. The boy strangely resembled one of his friends from back home and for the first time since he had been there, Tristan felt the first wave of homesickness.
Before Tristan could think about it, he offered. "Want help?"
He looked back to Orpheus, forcing himself to meet eye contact with the boy who's attire mirrored his friends back home. "I know you probably don't need it... " He added. "But it will probably be easier with two people carrying him."
He didn't know why he felt compelled to 'play along' with what he considered to be RRC's little game... but for some reason... he couldn't be by himself. He couldn't just sit in the corner and not speak to anyone... he was never that way. What he wanted most was to just start over completely... back at home. If he would have done something about his stepfather sooner, his family might still be alive... but he couldn't just reverse time. He could only move forward.... and the only people he had to help him... were the boys at the RRC.

((Bonding? Pffft. Orpheus will stay in the shadows and Adrian will be overly annoying - nothing really's gonna happen, unless someone finally decides to punch the resident slutbag. xD;;; (Ahhh... I'm so mean to Adrian. I would feel bad about it, but... I don't feel like it right now. =P )
So time skip is fine.))
For a moment, Orpheus's clear hazel gaze met the other's, but he dropped it again quickly to examine Shay's sleeping figure. "I'll be... fine," he muttured slowly, some instict inside him telling him to stay away from others. But then, of course, the small voice of courtessy popped into his brain. "I mean... you can help... if you'd like. But you don't need to," he continued. His voice was soft and slow - and smoothe, like honey... but darker.

((Wow, sorry for uber lateness... Lotsa studying, bleh. Lol, headcases are fun till you get sick of expaining all thats wrong with them over and over and just want to jump into the rp but the chara description keeps them in shadow... Thank god someone fainted, lol))
Allumen was curious, and although it seemed like there were already many people crowded around, he got up and walked over. "You may want to give him some room to breathe..." He fidgeted, wondering if trying to help someone in trouble would be considered interacting with minors... Probably, but at the moment, he didn't care. He'd never been free of his father before this.
((I'm loosening up his personality a bit to keep myself in this thing... xP And skippage would be good.))

((Hnmm... Darker than honey. Orpheus is maple syrup! XDDDD ))
Abby had thoughtfully prepared coffee and tea for the 6 boys that she had gathered into the main cabin of the RRC. The room was homey and had a soft western theme with cowboy and horse statues placed on the shelves. She had seated the boys at a large round table in the center of the room where each of them had a small plate for the snacks that had been provided and a cup for their beverage of choice. From the atmisphere, one would think that Abby had simply gathered them all together for a relaxing cerimony to 'greet the new kid', or something of that nature.... however this was not the case.
Although very nice, Abby was unseemingly strict about how people acted in her facility. The one thing she absolutely did not tolerate was lying. She also made people see themselves in a better light... which meant adressing the 'darker' problem directly and learning to accept it and cope.
"I want to remind you that you are all here because you want to be." She started off, her tone strangely more serious than normal. "Although many of you have been here for quite some time now, this is the first real meeting with your peers." She paused and quickly glanced over the terribly diverse group of young men before continueing.
"You each came here because society deemed you a problem. Be you dangerous, or troublesome.... they recommend that you change yourself by coming here." She stopped and then shook her head, her voice becoming more tender. "But we all know this is not the case. We all know that we cannot change yourselves at other people's will. What each of you have been through... your experiances... have led you down hard roads and wound you up here. And let me tell you boys.... it will only get better from here so you can let your guards down." She offered and then smiled faintly.
"I know this seems unfathomable to some of you and I understand.... however each of you are here because of your own problem.... and the first part in solving that problem is to stop hiding it and face it. Each of you tonight will explain why you are here." She paused for only a breif moment before adding. "You are allowed to be as angry as you like.... you may be bitter... you can be indifferent.... but you cannot deny it." She finalized and then looked to Allumen.
"We will start with our longest resident and then work our way to our newest.... You can tell your story in as much depth as you'd like.... or just give a summary.... its your choice. You are only required to tell your peers why you are here and that is all."
Abby sat on the edge of the table and looked at the disgruntled faces before her. She knew that they would not be happy about this.... but it was necessary.

((I believe the order is: Orpheus, Allumen, Aiden, Seamus and Tristan. I dun know how long the guy who fought with Tristan earlier was here. And not just syrup, but unfiltered honey actually turns tea/coffee black *even with milk. Or at least tints it darker than normal. ^^))
Allumen looked puzzled. Why had Abby directed this message directly to him? It wasn't as if he were hiding anything. He knew why he was here, though it was true he didn't like to talk about it. He gave her a small puzzled smile and waited for someone to start. Though Allumen doesn't interact with many people, he is extremely observant and some people would say he has a photographic memory. Though he wouldn't go so far as to give himself such a title.
