Hoshi no Kaminari
Wow. It's been along time since any one posted in here......

I have a friend and her Japanese is so messy I couldn't read it at all and to gte like one word took me half an hour. It was so hard. Then the girl who translated it for me was no better and her English writing was bad too. But like my pen pal writes like a computer in English and her Japanese just looks cute. I was always so worried about how my hiragana looked when I started Japanese and then my friend told me its not a big deal don't sweat it and after seeing so many people write just plain and not printed like a computer, I loosened up and just started writing naturaly. As long as its legible and follows the stroke order I don't think it's a big deal. Just have fun and know how to write tidy and your own style. Just like we all cn in English. We can hand write or just normal or write pretty for love letters. Just do what works and follow stroke order. :3

Well-said. I was also self-conscious about how my Japanese writing looked like but as long as I follow the stroke order and practice some more, it'll come naturally (and hopefully neat as well, lol). xd

really? I don't know if I follow the stroke order on some of my hiragana but it comes out legible and it looks just like it should...

Ah doumo arigatou! I always try to make my kanji look as boxy/neat as the typed out ones (the kind you see in books and stuff) and it's really hard and they come out horrible...this is useful lol now I know it doesn't have to be 100% perfect looking and it can look like natural hand writing biggrin

I write mine more angular, but thank you for the assistance. My friend has a rounder style too.
Sometimes kanji look so different written than in the book, so I try to find the similarities between them sweatdrop
Perhaps once I associate myself with more kanji, I will understand the difference and be able to recognize written kanji right away.
