Chapter 17: Kissing in the Kitchen

Naruto sighed. When was this going to end?

They had been working at the mansion for about a month now; longer than any other mission of this rank had ever taken. Sometimes it seemed like someone didn’t want them to leave.

He brushed the dirt off of his dress, getting up off the floor. Old Man Kaki had broken another vase, and it had been Naruto’s job to clean up the mess. Figures a plant was growing inside the vase.

Naruto sighed, gently picking up the plant that lay on the floor, its stem broken slightly. Its leaves were beautiful, and Naruto found himself stroking them. He smiled and chuckled sadly. He had always loved plants.

“I’m afraid there’s nothing I can do for you… Your stem is broken. It’s a shame, you’re a beautiful plant.”

After he had cleaned up the mess, he walked into the girl’s dorm, ready to change clothes. It was time for his lunch break, and he did not want to eat his ramen in a dress. He may be used to wearing it, but that didn’t mean he liked it.

He got into his black shirt and orange pants. It felt good to wear boy’s clothes.

He walked into the kitchen and was surprised to see the only person in there was Sasuke. He blushed, nervous, and sat down across from him. “H-hey, Sasuke!”

Sasuke looked up with him and blushed. But he looked back down again, apparently angry.

Naruto blinked, confused. “Sasuke? You okay?”

Sasuke glared at him half-heartedly. “No,” he grumbled.

Naruto sighed. “Sasuke? Is this about Yuki?”

Sasuke just looked away.

Naruto grinned evilly. “Is somebody jealous, Sa-su-ke-chaaan?”

Sasuke glared at him. “Don’t call me that.”

Naruto continued to grin. “Why not? It’s cute... Sasuke-chan.”

Sasuke growled and pounced at Naruto, making the two of them fall to the floor. Sasuke had Naruto pinned to the ground, the smaller boy still just grinning up at him. Sasuke snarled. “You are a little b*****d, you know that?”

Naruto’s grin fell. “Sasu-ke…” he whined.

Sasuke sighed. “I know what you’re up to, Naruto. I’m not called a genius for nothing.”

Naruto sighed in relief. “Phew! I thought you were mad at me.”

Sasuke glared again. “I am mad at you. There are better ways to get people together, you know.”

Naruto laughed nervously. “Eh-he… Yeah, there is, isn’t there?”

Sasuke smirked. “Yes, yes there is.” He leaned down until his mouth was level with Naruto’s ear. “I suppose I’ll have to teach you a lesson for your mistakes, Na-ru-to-chan.”

Mashi ran from the kitchen, his face bright red. He’d have to remember to warn everyone to not walk in on the two boys making out in the kitchen.
