'You know,' she thought wryly, 'every time something sounds simple, it turns out to be unbelievably difficult.'
"Alright." She said. She tried to relax as best she could in a cement room. After a while, when she was as relaxed as she was ever going to be, she tried to focus on the little box with the sail. Then she tried to feel the wind.
... Only there wasn't any wind.
She glared, "I can't do it."

Austin smirked slyly. "Aren't you breathing right now? The air isn't as still as it seems. Remember what you just learned; everything shifts the air. If you need something to work with, then make it." Austin spoke in a soft tone, trying not to sound like a nag. He wanted honestly to help Mika; she seemed like a sweet girl, and it would be best if she knew at least a bit better her strength. "You can do it, Mika. Believe."

Drew a deep breath and closed her eyes, starting from the beginning. When she tried to feel the wind, she remembered what Austin had said and concentrated harder. That's when something tickled at the back of her mind.
'I've done this before.' She realized. It had been a few years ago. She and her little brother had been waiting for the bus on one of the hottest days of the year. The winds were dead so she couldn't bring any to cool them like she usually did. But as they waited, he seemed closer and closer to passing out. She couldn't remember exactly how she had done it but she had managed to summon up little breezes to keep him cool as he wavered on his feet.
'I'm not inside.' she thought, 'I'm outside and it's hot as hell.' she let out a deep breath and... saw it leave her. She blinked her eyes open in surprise. Then closed them and breathed in... then out again. She saw it again. In the darkness behind her closed eyes, she could see just a faint coloring as the breeze drifted away and into nothingness.
Focusing on it, she willed it towards the little box as she breathed out again. She felt something happen but, since her eyes were closed, she couldn't be sure of exactly what.

Austin watched Mika, observing her. He spoke softly, seeing she was having a bit of difficulty. "Blow a stream; narrow the flow." Her breathing was normal, and she was working with it; the fog was scattering away from her feet lightly, and the sail was tittering the box slightly, though not enough to move it. She needed to concentrate the flow into a point.

Watching the flow of air with closed eyes, she focused her will to make the colors narrow. 'Like a straight line.' she thought distantly, 'I just need a straight line.' And soon enough, she could feel it changing. In just a few more breaths, she had it down to a rather squiggly line but a line all the same. She cautiously cracked an eye and watched as the box glided unevenly across the floor. 'Mika 1 1/2, Paper - 0' she thought triumphantly, though she chose not to let the thought that beating paper was a bit lame, or think about how the times she had not be able to make the paper move. A victory was a victory.

The boat box tittered across the floor on it's edge, shifting from corner to corner much like a sumo wrestler, until it collided with the wall. "Good, good. That's how it's done." Austin smiled warmly at Mika, clapping again softly. "You're a fast learner, it took me a while before i got this one down." Truthfully, Austin had done this exercise before, but with a brick in the box portion of the boat, and a pair of needles keeping the sail and mast stiff. Still, it was better if she learned the finer points of control before learning how to work with power. "Now let's work with rotation. Since you've figured out how to use direction, this part should be a bit easier."

Mika paled a bit, "Let's not." she said quickly before smiling nervously, "We've done a today! Let's go celebrate with lunch or dinner or whatever." She said as she made for the door.

Austin shrugged a bit, picking up his things. He swirled his arm lightly, creating a vacuum, and he focused the wind around this small circle of air, turning it into a small whirlwind. The fog on the ground was sucked into it, and Austin place his vial at the end of it. The fog compressed into a rod at the tip of the whirlwind, becoming dry ice once more. When this was done, Austin corked the vial, and turned to face Mika. He unlocked and opened the door. "Sounds good to me."

Mika tried not to look like she was in a rush to leave but she wasn't sure how well she did. As soon as she was free of teh building, she took in a deep breath of breezy, fresh air and stretched.
"Lovely." she murmured, "Now where do we get some food?" She wondered out loud. She hadn't the first clue as to where anything really was.

"...what the hell is a faerie?" Kira mumbled to herself, frowning as she stared at a piece of paper. Upon that paper was a list, a collection of items and things she needed to take a picture of. The first was a faerie. Since she had never seen one, and didn't really think she would either, Kira had decided to skip that one and move instead to the next item, a treadmill. Now there was something normal!
She had made her way to the gym. Or rather, to the training hall. What she found were very odd element based rooms that she'd much rather avoid altogether. She had stared for a long while at the man with the beer at the front, wondering if she should ask him about it. She had paused a moment to snap a picture of the beer bottle he was holding. Then she had decided she'd rather not approach his smell, and had set off herself. She peeked into a few rooms before entering one at last, a smirk twitching her lips as the treadmill awaited her. She snapped a picture and then turned to go... but then decided she might as well give it a go. So it wasn't until an hour later of vigorous running that Kira finally left the training hall, panting softly to herself with both ears and her tail now visible after the work out.

Entering the Training Hall Mizuki waited for her new friends to follow. She then began to look around for a vacant room as well as thinking of what possible strategies she could use in each battlefield. Of course, she didn't think of anything serious. This was a friendly sparring match, after all.

Orthae stepped into the training room shortly after Mizuki. His eyes scanning the room thinking up possible strategies already, he knew he’d have to play this one easy. There were two people, and he could only use two summons at one time, with the fact he wasn’t fully prepared he did not have access to his necromancy. Thus, he was left with only Terror and Peace. He hoped they would be enough.

Ryuu stepped in, following behind the other two. Equipped with his b*****d sword, and what few holy spells he had. He looked around the training room with an intense gaze of interest. This wasn't anything like the training rooms they had back in his small town. Well, it wasn't a big ol' gym filled with sweaty guys. Better yet, the doors... how were they going to duke it out in a closed room? That really limited his options... Ryuu looked over at Mizuki and said, "Hey, Mizuki... I thought sparrin' required somethin' biggah than a room."

Mizuki looked back at Ryuu, a small smie on her face. "Don't worry, it's not as small as you think. You guys can also choose which kind of field you would want to fight in." Finding a "room" she opened the door, revealing a large open space that seemed fit to hold at least one hundred people. "I haven't fought in an Ocean field, but would like to give it a try. Still, you guys can choose, since that is my only preference."

Slowly and gracefully Orthae moved towards the rooms control panel as he cracked his knuckles as he stared at the many buttons. The woman had stated she wanted the ocean stage, but Orthae had always been scared of the water. Ever since he was a child he’d been scared of it. Shivering slightly he wrapped his arms around himself as the memories began to come back to him, memories he thought he repressed.
He was no older than five, still living with his father and all the other elves at the settlement. All the children decided to go down to a little river to go swimming. Although his father was a noble Orthae decided to join them, after all he was still a child. All the children knew and respected him, so he knew he would be in safe hands.
Once they were all down at river all the children began to take off their clothes and jump into the water. Orthae, gulped softly as he looked around, his father hadn’t taught him how to swim yet. Looking at all the other children frolic and play he bit his bottom lip and touched one foot to the water. What was the worst that would happen; after all they all loved him surely they wouldn’t let him die.
“Hey, prince, come on in! The water is fine!” One child shouted as he splashed the young prince Orthae with the water. “Jump in prince boy! You scared? Hey everyone, the prince is scared of the water!” The boy shouted as he began to laugh, causing all the others to laugh as well. Once child, the bully, grabbed onto Orthae’s leg and pulled him into the water.
As Orthae fell his head smacked hard against the side of the bank. Once he hit the water a pool of blood began to form around the water where he’d fallen in. All the children began to run around franticly climbing out of the water as they began to run away from the river. Laying lifelessly on the river bed Orthae’s lungs began to fill with water.
Shaking again he closed his eyes and tried to banish the memories from his head. He couldn’t think of such things with a brawl about to start. “N-No... I don’t think I’ll be competing in this brawl of yours.” He said softly as he moved away from the control panel. “Have fun you two, enjoy your fight. It was nice meeting both of you.” As he spoke he was already heading out of the room. He didn’t know where he was planning on going, he just wanted to walk, sort of to clear his head, and after all, a lot had happened to him.
