Umm just for future reference could you not talk about me in the third person. It's kind of weird. Also when I first played FF7 I didn't hate Aeris. It was only after I played it that I made a judgment.



There is a big difference between Sasuke and Aeris. Sasuke didn't take an active part in breaking up the frendship between Sakura and Ino. In fact he didn't even know or care about it for that matter. He wanted nothing to do with either of them. Sakura and Ino broke up their friendship all on their own. I thought it was pretty stupid of them to do since their doing it for a guy that could care less about either of them. Aeris however to an obvious active part in trying to make Cloud her own even though she knew that Tifa had feelings for him.



Umm that’s completely wrong. Well in my case anyway. I have proof and reasons for not liking her which will be on the bottom



No I'm not going to yell at you. *Lol * but I will corrected you and prove why I feel this way about Aeris


First I said that Aeris was stupid so I'll start with that.

Aeis was completely stupid when she meet Cloud for the second time. Of course if a guy broke through the roof of a church after a huge explosion and landed right in front of you, you would obviously want to see if he was okay, which is understandable. What isn't understandable is that she does have the Shinra on her tail all the time so life is probably very dangerous for her. Even when she first meets Cloud, wouldn't you think that a cold looking guy with a huge sword after a terrorist bombing would look the least bit threatening, especially since he had the Mako eyes from SOLDIER (who works for the same people who are AFTER you)? You would think that she would be smart enough to avoid someone like that.

So then Shinra comes and finds her and then Aeris asks Cloud to be her body guard for a date which he doesn’t agree to but dose anyway because he's a nice guy. Through the whole fight she was totally annoying. She was crying for help 60% of the time. But then when she meets Tifa at Corneo's place Tifa asks "Is it all right?" and Aeris responds "I grew up in the slums... I'm used to danger." I mean she tried to hire Cloud and her body guard and yet she makes is sound like she can take care of herself. Stupid.

Another thing that was stupid of her was running off on her own when an evil corporation and a sword totting psychopath are out for her, especially since it eventually led to her death. People like to combat this with things like “Oh but Aeris knew she was going to die anyway. She was so self sacrificing.” She can’t be self sacrificing unless 1) she knew that she was going to die. and 2) If her death would help humanity. It says in “The Madden who traveled the plaint” That she knew she was going to die soon but she didn’t know it was going to be at that moment. Not to mention that her death did not triger Holy like some people would like to believe. Holy would have worked weather she had died or not. All she had to do was have her prayers reach the plaint. She had just been lucky that her prayers had reached the plaint before she got killed by Seiphroth.


Second I said that she was two faced and insensitive.

I hear lots of Aeris lovers say "Oh Aeris didn't know that Tifa liked Cloud and when she asked Tifa about it she said that they were just friends so it was ok for Aeris to go after him." First of all yes Tifa did deny having feelings for him but then so did Aeris. So they were both lying which is why I don't bother using this as any kind of proof. Second unless Aeris was void of a brain (Which I cloud question sometimes) She defiantly knew that Tifa had feelings for Cloud. I know I have written this before but here is is again. When Aeris first meets Cloud they start talking and end up on the subject of Tifa. In which Cloud has the opportunity to say "Tifa is my girlfriend" or "Tifa's not my girlfriend" but either way it seems to peek Aeris's interest. Also while getting back to sector 7 She brings up Tifa's name at least 4 different times. Then Aeris finally meets Tifa and it's pretty obvious that Tifa and Cloud have some romantic feelings toward each other no mater how small they might be at this point. Aeris sees this and what dose she do. She makes like she's Tifa's friend while completely disregarding her obvious feelings toward Cloud and proceeds to be all flirty with him. Not to mention that is says right in the game manual by Aeris's character info that she wants to deepen the tringal between her Cloud and Tifa. So right there is official proof from SE that Aeries defiantly knows that Tifa likes Cloud and just chooses not to care about it. I also here a lot of Aeris lovers say "Oh but Tifa didn't do or say anything when Aeris was flirting with Cloud." Tifa wasn't just afraid to make a move, and say something on Aeris and make herself look like an idiot in front of the party, so she kept to herself out of shyness and control. But at the same time, Cloud was already majorly messed up, and she didn't want Aeris to mess up Cloud even further. I think that Tifa was just growing irritated about Aeris but fearful as to what would happen to Cloud as a result of their "competition".


Aeris: "I wanna see how compatible me and Cloud are"
Cait Sith: "This isn't good. I can't say it."
Cait Sith: "Poor Tifa."
Aeris: "No! Tell me!"
Aeris: "I promise I won't get mad!"
Cait Sith: "Is that so? Then I'll tell you."
Cait Sith: "Looks good. You are perfect for each other!"
Cait Sith: "Aeris's star and Cloud's star! A great future!"

Now to me this is just completely mean and rude especially if you have Tifa in your party but weather she is there or not Aeris is being a complete jerk. Neither her of Cait Sith should be talking about her behind her back or saying such rude things in front of her when they know how she feels for Cloud. Again she's being completely insensitive to Tifa's feelings


Aeris: "...!? Tifa! Tifa, is also here!"
Tifa: "Excuse me."
Tifa: "You know, Aeris. I have a question though."
Aeris: "Wha~t?"
Tifa: "Does the Promised Land truly exist?"

Aeris is caught asking Cloud for a date, Tifa changes the subject to the serious situation at hand. Aeris was tense about what Tifa is about to ask, because she thought Tifa would ask about the date. This also proves that Aeris defiantly knew about Tifa’s feelings toward Cloud. Again Aeris is being insensitive to Tifa’s feelings.

Tifa isn't the only person she was insensitive to though. Like when Aeris told Barriet "Oh just forget about it." when he was still depressed about having to kill his best friend and the father of the little girl he now takes care of. Of cores Aeris lovers like to say "Oh Aeris was just trying to cheer him up." If Aeris had half a brain she would know better then to say something as rude and insensitive as forget about it. I mean if someone said something like that to me after what happened I would have punched them in the face.


Anyway basically I could go on and on about this subject but I think I have said enough to prove my point. Of cores I’m not trying to convert anyone to hating her nor am I trying to start a debate because I know this is a debate free thread. I’m merely giving factual evidence as to why I have come up with such a judgment on her. That is all.

Ok so then why was Aeris walking around BY HERSELF selling flowers for a gil. I mean think about it. Innocent flower girl selling flowers in the slums; that to me sounds pretty stupid right there. I mean she has been running from Shinra since she was a child. If she was smart she would have hired a body guard a long time before Cloud ever came along.



WHAT !!! I have just posted all that evidence saying that Aeris DID KNOW that Tifa had feelings for Cloud. Not to mention that is says in Aeris’s character profile that she wants to deepen the love triangle between herself Cloud and Tifa. So yes she most defiantly knew about Tifa’s love for Cloud. As for Tifa not saying or doing anything about Aeris. I have already stated why she kept quite about it in my last post.



Actually that kind of a cute story I must say. But there is a flaw in comparing your story to the LTD.

1) Dayna didn’t know that you might have already liked somebody else where as Aeris knew that their might have been something between Cloud and Tifa.

2) From what you said it sounded like they never even met each other or were never even in the same place for that mater. Tifa and Aeris defiantly meet each other and again Aeris defiantly knew that Tifa had feelings for him.



That’s true but I have only done that when someone has been calling me names or making up rumors or just being a plain jerk to me. So instead of punching them in the face (which trust me I have wanted to do many times) I go and vent to my friends about it. That way I can get it out and try to think of another way deal with the a** hole. What Aeris was doing was nothing close to that. She was just being rude as usual.

Here is how I see Aeris. I don’t think she was trying to break up Cloud and Tifa or be spiteful to her. I just think that Aeris wanted Cloud and didn’t really care how Tifa felt about it. She knew Tifa liked Cloud but simply didn’t care about it. And Aeris was going to flirt and do whatever she wanted to get him. Anyway I think that’s enough on my part with the Aeris hate/dislike. Anyway I must say I do wish you and Melina the best even if you two are only friends. Oh and one more thing. Do you live in Hawaii?

Awwwww cute. whee heart How old are you anyway? If you don't mind me asking? You sound old and mature enough to be in college like me? Anyway the reason why I asked if you live in Hawaii is because you say Bra a lot. The word Bra originated fom hawaiian pigen and I guess has goten populer. I live in Hawaii so I hear it all the time. Thats why I asked.



Ok well first of all I thought that Keitaro should have ended up with Motoko because she was the coolest one there. Not to mention that I really didn't like Naru because she reminds me of Akane from Ranma 1/2 and I hate her as much as Aeris but for different reasons of cores. As far as a love triangle is concerned; I thought it was more of a love harem then anything else but there was a bit of a triangle.



Don't beat yourself up I think it's better to talk then stay silent. Well, most time, besides discussing things don't really bother me all that much. I'm a bit of a philosopher myself so I'm prone to talking a lot and asking lots of questions. Mostly about life and other things that most people (unless you’re in college) would find boring.

Perhaps obvious to you, but I didn't see anything that SCREAMED romance there. Let me back up though:
You say Aeris is stupid for hiring Cloud.
The first time they met Aeris bumped into a strange man. He bought a flower from her and warned her from the area. Then the same man falls through her roof. She stays by his side until he wakes up, they chat, she offers him a date to be her bodyguard. Then the Turks show up.
Aeris gets cornered and calls to her new body guard for help. Now, if you were sucessful with the barells Cloud saves her, but if you're not SHE FIGHTS HER WAY OUT.
Now, obviously she DOESN'T need a body guard as much as it could seem, but she WANTS one. She's attracted to Cloud, she can tell he's special, he brings her first boyfriend to mind. She wants him to stick around, at least long enough to walk her home.
They see Tifa, and Aeris asks about her. Cloud can either say yes she's my girlfriend, or deny it(shaking his head vigorously might I add).
Aeris then thinks up a way to rescue Tifa intending to go in a do it herself, but Cloud won't let her go in alone, so Aeris thinks up a way to get Cloud in there. Right there she shows that she's cunning and clever AND caring enough to charge into a brothel to save a STRANGER.
So Aeris meets Tifa, asks her what Cloud is to her, Tifa says A FRIEND. That's all Aeris gets.
So, further along in the story Aeris may or may not have caught on that Tifa had feelings for Cloud. My personal feeling is that she may have realized, being talented at reading people's emotions as she is. But let's keep in mind- Tifa's unlikely to have told her. She's shy, keeps her feelings under wraps, she's very UNLIKELY to tell Aeris how she feels.
Also, put yourself in Aeris' shoes. You like a guy, your friend likes him as well but refuses to make a move and DENIES liking him. What are you to do? Why should AERIS have to sacrifice her feelings just because Tifa's SHY? That's simply not fair at all. Were it TIFA proclaiming her feelings to Cloud would you call Tifa a two timer?
Also, Aeris is most certainly not as dumb as you're trying to pretend she is. All through the game she's able to figure stuff out before everyone else, this continues in KH, KH: CoM and AC.
Aeris has never been expressed in cannon as anything but caring, gentle and playful. (MotP: She watched Cloud and Tifa in the lifestream and was glad that Tifa helped him. She wished it could have been her, but the fact that Cloud got help was enough for her. That's pretty darn selfless right there)

Also, your "evidence" that Aeris knew Tifa liked Cloud wasn't evidence at all. I read through all of it, nothing in there shed any kind of light on the matter.


Nobody's profile is accurate. Since when has Tifa been "bright and optimistic" and "cheered the whole party up"?
I'm going to judge the characters more by the game than by what the translators think of them.
And again, TIFA DID NOTHING. Aeris had every RIGHT to flirt with Cloud, and if Cloud can be "stolen" (can't really steal something that doesn't officially belong to someone else) then he didn't really much love Tifa now did he?

Yes, I will admit Aeris didn't make the best decision in that scene, so what? One little slip up and she's a demon? EVERY character was insensitive toward each other during the game. EVERY CHARACTER.
You say "If Aeris had a brain" at least she was DOING something. Everyone else was just IGNORING him. She WAS trying to cheer him up, but she made a mistake, we all DO. She tried, and she made the wrong decision. Heck, maybe that had worked on someone else in the past and she figured it'd work on him too.

I just knew that some Claeris would try to come in here and defend Aeris/Cleris. You know I would ague these points with you but I wont because this is a DEBATE FREE THREAD. Meaning that this thread was made to express how and what you feel about cretin couples while having the freedom of knowing that your views and opinions wouldn’t be argued against but I guess you obviously didn't get that. Also your excuses for Aeris being a complete jerk to Tifa is just that, an excuses. If you want to cast aside official SE proof in Aeris's own profile that she was in fact trying to create a love triangle between the three of them then that's your problem but don't expect your argument to be taken seriously. Furthermore all of you Cleris/Aeris lovers like to delude your self’s into thinking that Aeris was this wonderful, sweet, innocent, flower girl, that can do no wrong and that Tifa was this huge depressed emo that dose nothing more then baby-sit two children with Cloud, when it's obvious that neither of them are the way you have portrayed them at all. However if you want to think that way then fine but don't tell me that I'm wrong when my proof can be backed by SE and yours can't. So to end my rant I’ll say this. If you can’t handle someone hating/disliking your favorite couple/character then you shouldn’t be on this thread. If you don’t like my opinion then that’s too bad. Don’t bother to debate it here because. THIS IS NOT A DEBATE THREAD.
