Mahayr, I know we've discussed this in private, but I figured since you told me to join the guild I'd make my presence felt. (I guess you're on vacation or something... so sorry you're going to miss the debut).
For those who don't know me, hi I'm Wing McCallister. razz
Anyway, some of you here saw my first contest in which I used my site www.cfxt.com as a prize by posting the winning contest entries as featured/spotlighted pieces. I talked with Mahayr about a way to solidify the WC community, and I think that hey, why don't we have that prize as an option to every contest? For one, people like being able to see that their work is good enough to be put up on a site, and the fact that it's a four letter domain lends it some internet credibility. I definitely got props for it from the people who entered my contest, which is why I hope to continue. It's also why people said talk to Mahayr because she's cool - even though she hates the lols. Anyway, those are my 2 cents for now.

Well, I am thinking of doing some in HQ. No seperate where. Smallish ones.
I am open to suggestions, of course. The smaller the better.
Poetry, word games, something short. No prose, no stories or anything else too long.
I could change it periodically, and will likn to current information from the first page.

Hmmm. I'm just getting to know what this guild is all about.
So, you used to host contests? Still do?
I'd be glad to partly fund a drabble contest. Drabble as in 100 words precisely of fiction. (Gee, I guess you could do drabble poetry.) I could kick in at least 1K, maybe more. I would think such short work would have a one week deadline.
So, am I off base here? Or what?

Its very nice to have you aboard.
Used to. I have them saved over in the retired area, with links to the originals. My Last Hurrah was to die for wonderful (for me). I still have the Colosseum and Grounds, but am in the process of refurbishing... we do dueling poets there, its a lot of fun.
I spend my time now with Foundation work, supporting contests, giving grants, doing whatever I can to help. I love doing my rounds best of all *smiles*.
Sometimes I have to pretend to referree in HQ. Without a word, usually but not always.
Do not let Sqarr scare you off. He is sweeter to the girlies than the guys. He rarely posts anymore, he has been so busy... and when he comes in to let off steam sometimes it can be scorching. Mostly he is just misunderstood because few take the time to actually read what he says!
Oh... yes I love Drabble, but I am not running contests at the moment. If you would like to make a donation I will certainly see that it is put to good use, and I am funding at least one drabble contest at the moment. Maybe more... and there are a couple that are on-going, which is fun. I even entered once or twice, but I can so rarely do that, and not if I have funded the thing! Hahaha. I should though! I should try and win it all back!
