6/10/05 - RP Recap (Note: this takes place at Enoh and Nio's wedding reception. If anyone has the entire contents of the Enoh/Nio wedding thread saved somewhere, please let me know. I can't seem to access page 23.))

Tybalt had put Vidya down long enough to survey the room the reception was being held in; or, more importantly, where they were keeping the booze. It was no easy feat snagging the wine he had stashed under his large coat--rather, grabbing as many bottles as he had--and he was currently on the lookout for a quiet, private place in which to get smashed, preferably without parental supervision.

An inkling of blue out of the corner of Tybalt's eye prompted him to turn his head. Sure enough, there was Vidya. He paused in his search long enough to try and catch her eye, hoping waving a wing at her would be signal enough before he resumed moving once more, disappearing around a corner. He hadn't yet noticed Donny--even as shiny as he was, he was hardly as noticeable as his cerulean-skinned sister.

From where she was, Vidya heard something about a dance. Dance?! She LOVED to dance! She was never really good at it mind you, but it was just too much fun to pass up. She stopped following Tybalt then, running back to peer around the wall, spying on her parents as they stood on the dance floor.

Her sidewings then drooped a bit. She didn't have a dance partner like her Mom and Dad did! She doubted Tybalt would want to dance (and besides, he was way too tall now), and she couldn't exactly find Adonis to see if he wanted to dance as well. All of the boys in her family had seemed to go missing, and by the time Vidya found them, the dance would probably be over! Oh no!

Whimpering a bit, Vidya glanced back towards her Captain, and then at the dance floor. Eventually, the blue child turned and headed back to Tybalt, deciding that just watching a dance wasn't all that interesting.

Besides, adventure always seemed to accompany Tybalt.

"Wait up please!" She squeaked as she tried to catch up to him again with the disadvantage of being in a dress.

She made a mental note to dance with someone once she grew.

Tybalt waited exactly long enough for Vidya to catch up with him before grabbing her hand and half-dragging her down the hall, not stopping until he reached an alcove into which a window was set. "Shh," he said in a cautioning tone. "Don't want the adults t'know we're down 'ere, do we?" With that, he released his hand and sat on the ledge that elevated the window from the floor. He opened his large coat a bit and carefully withdrew a trio of wine bottles, all unopened.

Donny had lost Lyris at some point, assuming that Kira had told her to return. He was currently hopping from table to table again, but before he got to his next one he just managed to catch sight of Tybalt dragging his sister away. So THAT'S where they were! He'd been wondering all day! He toddled after them quickly, almost losing them as they ran down a hall.

Once he'd caught up, he put his hands on his knees and tried to catch his breath, looking up at them.

"Hoy! Where you guys been? Donny BORED."

Vidya squeaked as her hand was grabbed, her free hand grasping the folds of her dress to keep it away from her feet this time, running in an attempt to NOT be dragged too much. Because really...that wasn't fun!

"Nuh-huh...!" She whispered back in agreement once they had stopped, figuring they were about to go on another adventure soon. What hadn't clicked was that they were in a dead-end hall now, infront of a window. Not a lot of promise for adventuring. As she was given her hand back, she lightly rubbed where his fingers had been...okay, being half dragged kind of hurt.

The tale then stared wide-eyed at the bottles Tybalt made appear from his coat. "Oh WOW" She stated as if she'd just seen the single most coolest thing in the entire world. She was about to ask how he hid the bottles, but the appearance of Adonis startled her.

"SHH Donny! Gotsa be quiet!" She whispered warningly, pressing her finger to her lips.

Armel would have to be blind not to notice Adonis flitting off somewhere and damn it he wanted to follow. Armel struggled to get off of Pales' lap which he succeeded though Pales looked quite confused.

"Donny-plane!" He announced. Pales sighed and nodded.

"Fine, but don't go too far." Pales murmured straightening the boy's hair a bit.

"Pssh." He replied and started to tromp off after where he saw Adonis last. Though quietly.

Pales just shook his head and slumped quietly into his seat.

((Missing anything that might have been on page 23.))

Tybalt's wings flared, as if unconsciously inviting his soon-to-be drinking buddies to partake in their splendor and space. He opened the bottles with a practiced air; odd for someone who had never had a drop of alcohol in his short life. The first bottle, once opened, he sat before himself. The second he placed at Vidya's feet. The cork of the third one proved difficult to remove, so he yanked it out with his teeth and spit the cork out to the side before placing the bottle next to Donny. With a grin, he picked up his own bottle, raising it as if in a toast. "Drink up, mates." With that, he took a healthy swig.

Donny plopped down on the floor once he'd caught his breath, sticking his tongue out at his sister when she told him to shush. He blinked at the bottle placed before him, cocking his head and leaning in to sniff it.

".. Soda?" He said hopefully, before picking it up in his chubby hand and trying to read the bottle label.

It would help if he could read. Pretty grape picture though! It must be GRAPE soda!

Donny turned around just in time to see Armel coming closer, and opened his mouth to yell, but quickly remembered they were being quiet. So instead he waved his wings wildly and waved for him to come sit beside him.

Vidya returned the favour of a stuck out tongue, only hers was much better since she made a point of pressing her thumbs to her pointed ears and wiggling her fingers. Her hands dropped once the bottle was placed at her feet. Blinking, she plopped herself down onto her butt and pulled the bottle closer to her.

"Pressie? Oh, thank'ou!" She giggled once she'd pulled the bottle close to her. What kind of drink was this, exactly? She leaned over and gave it a curious sniff...only to instantly lean her head back and wrinkle up her nose in disgust.

"EW. Smell'sbad." She stated blantantly. Vidya had been about to try it at least...but then she saw Armel. Letting out a happy (but short) squeak, she waved him over as well. "Hiya 'Melli! Cap'n gots drinks!"

He could see Donny's wings easily enough, they were a bit hard to miss, he silently made his way over. Though he stopped first and stared at Tybalt. An interesting looking fellow, at least he thought so. Armel stepped back his hands shifting to rest behind his back. His yellow eyed gaze seeming to study Tybalt almost as if asking permission of the obviously older boy.

Armel knew better than to throw any sort of weight around someone that is older and probably much stronger than him. He actually seemed quite submissive which would be rare for someone of his spirit. He smiled briefly when Vidya invited him, but currently he'd rather the older child invited him as well. He slunk over a bit closer so no one had to yell though, as they were obviously trying to keep quiet.

Tybalt finally came up for air, releasing a content sigh and wiping his mouth on his forearm. Yeah, this was the GOOD stuff! He thought so, anyway. "'S not soda, Donny, it's wine. Give 'er a taste then, eh?" Might as well get them started early. If he had his way, he and his merry band would spend many an occassion getting drunk. Oddly enough, he didn't seem to care that his crewmates were naught but babies; they were PIRATES, by god, and getting drunk was one of the things pirates did best!

He wasn't drunk enough yet to not notice the small horned boy that had joined their trio, and his feathers fluffed almost in irritation. They weren't in the best of hiding places, granted, and Tybalt hoped that this boy would be the only intruder lest their private party end early. "'Oo's this then? D'you two know 'im?" His accent slowly seemed to be getting thicker as the alcohol speedily made its way through Tybalt's young and inexperienced body.

Donny didn't understand why Armel wasn't sitting down when he waved him over, though. He had no concept of 'bigger means authority', and hence his chubby hand reached out to pull Armel down near him. "Yah this is 'Mel, he's my friend and Viddy's and now he's yours too!" He decided, because obviously this was his decision to make.

Now back to the wine.

"Wiiiiine? Squishee says I wine a lot. Is it like that?" Donny brought the wine bottle to his lips and tipped it fully, not expecting the BURNING SENSATION that went down his throat when he did so. There wasn't much to be done, he'd already gulped it down, but he put down the bottle and keeled over onto his back, letting out a little puff of annoyance.

"That's groooooooooooosssssss.."

Armel's face flushed faintly of embarrassment as Adonis pretty much forced the idea of being friends with the other boy upon them. He knelt next to Adonis and then finally sat somewhat uneasily. It was hard to tell how Tybalt would react, he already seemed irritated. Armel decided to be cautious until he was shown he could otherwise relax, "Armel" He said softly, introducing himself by what he concieved to be his full name.

He watched Adonis take a swig of the wine, and blinked at his reaction, was it poison? No, the older boy didn't seem to type to poison people at least not people he seemed to be friendly with as far as Armel knew. He looked back at Tybalt to see what he'd do.

"Viddy knows him!" She squeaked out as quietly as she could, one arm in the air while the other was curled around the neck of the wine bottle. Her attention went back to Tybalt, remembering him mentioning something about wine. She eyed him curiously, and then eyed the bottle. Wine was in liquid form? Maybe it'd make her complain more if she drank it. However...

Vidya didn't feel like complaining, because that was never ever fun. As well, Adonis' reaction to taking a swig didn't sway her towards even attempting to drink it. If it was labeled gross by Donny of all people, it had to be bad. She wrinkled up her nose, taking another small sniff of it.

...It still smelt gross. Maybe she wouldn't drink it after all.

Tybalt's feathers fluffed at Donny's bold assumption. He was especially picky about those he called "friend," and he'd be damned if some sparkly little midget--a sparkly little midget who, apparently, couldn't hold his liquor--was going to make such an important decision for him. "I'll be choosin' me own "friends," thank 'ee kindly," he growled at Donny's prone form before turning back to Armel. He studied the younger Tale, an appraising glint in his eyes, which were surprisingly clear in spite of how fast he was on his way to getting drunk. After a moment, Tybalt grunted as if in assent and nodded. "Ye'll do. Welcome t'th party, lad."

Donny started to push himself up after being floored by the disgusting drink he had just guzzled, sitting up to give Tybalt a wary glance. Oooh, was that a challenge?! He could pick everyone's friends if he wanted, haha! Except right now he couldn't pick out which Tybalt was the real one, as there were three sitting there obviously trying to trick him. Fortunately for all three of them, they all agreed that Armel was worth friending, and Donny felt he had won a victory. That's right Tybalt, Donny thought. Damn straight I was right! He hiccuped and grinned lopsided at the boy, a grin that clearly stated 'hey let's rumble'.

Any minute now he just might pounce the boy and go rolling down the hall. That is.. if he managed to be able to stand up straight. What the poop was wrong with him now anyway? He looked at the bottle in his hand, wondering if perhaps it might make him feel better. Yes, he was sure it would. He brought it to his lips and took another swig, finding the taste much less unpleasant than the first time - someone must have put a lot of sugar in it or something. Hurray for hidden servants to cater to his needs!

Vidya stared at the boys, her white eyes wide with curiousity and awe. How they could choke back this completely disgusting liquid was beyond her, and the mere fact they could do it just made them her heroes. Especially Tybalt. Even moreso Tybalt. Because not only was he older, but he was her Captain, her Friend, and now her hero for being able to drink whatever wine was.

Infact, this strangely made her want to try it. She eyed the bottle again, reaching out to grab it...

...But instead, she grasped air. Before she knew it, she was staring down at the ground, she could see her feet, and whats worse everything was upside down! Squeaking in confusion, she looked around, eventually spotting feet that were attached to a black-haired, red eyed Gunman.

"Vinny!" She cheered happily, fighting her way up so she could sit properly against his hip, one of her knees on his stomach, the other on his back. "Party over?" She inquired slowly, though which party she meant was left out in the open.

"Yep, The party is over. Tybalt, I think your Mother's looking for you. And...You..." Vincent's red gaze locked on Armel. He'd never seen that one before.

"Armel." Vidya chirped, helping Vincent. He was so obvious Armel, Duh!

"...Right. Armel. You should go find your Mum, or your Dad, or whoever brought you here. They're closing the place soon. Great, Adonis is drunk." The Gunman sighed heavilly, using his free hand to scoop Adonis up, and to hang the boy over his shoulder. Without another word, he turned and walked back towards the main hall. After all, the other boys weren't his problem...they weren't his Employer's children.

"BYE CAP'N! BYE ARMEL!" Vidya called over Vincent's shoulder as they rounded the corner.

"Okay, head count! Valen...Check. Evander, Check. Teivel, Check. Mieke's over there with...I guess thats Momo, so Check. Gina and Ella, check. Zhamai...obvious Check. So then we're missing Donny and Viddy..."

"No you're not. I have them. And Adonis is going to be hurting tomorrow." Vincent left it at that, holding the happily waving, but rather sleeping-looking Vidya on his hip, and Adonis was still slung over his shoulder.

"Vinny said Donny's drunk. Whas drunk mean? And ooh...s'at a baby?!" Vidya's white eyes went wide with excitement, pointing directly down at Iva. She squealed happily shortly after, reaching out in an attempt to touch the little one.

Enoh couldn't answer her daughter...she was too busy staring in disbelief at Vincent, and then at the winged Tale over his shoulder. Adonis...drunk? Her red eyes narrowed a bit. There was only one person - Tale, to be specific - she could think of that could have caused this.

And oh was he going to be a dead bird.

*HICCUP*

"AAYE OHHHAAAAYEEE.. S'A PIRATES LIFE FOR M-*HICCUP*EEE~~~.."

Donny swayed back and forth while Vinny carried him away, singing some song he'd heard Tybalt sing in between his bouts of consciousness. It was a great song. A WONDERFUL song. It should be sung from the MOUNTAINTOPS. But Donny could only remember that one line.

"Saaaaaaa pirates life for meeeeee.. meee.. mememeheeMOMMY!"

Donny vaguely heard his mother's voice, and tried his very best - which wasn't very much - to turn around in Vinny's embrace. Sadly the man wasn't letting him do much moving, and it was only when his father reached out to collect the boy and take him in his arms did Donny find his mother in his range of vision.

Or rather, his mothers! For suddenly he had four of them! How wonderful!

"MOMMIES. Sa pirates life for meee."

He then promptly bent over his father's arm and threw up all his cake and soda.

"Who the HELL gave a toddler liquor?!" Nio spat out, looking about as angry as he ever got. "I bet it was Popion, I swear to God when I get my hands on him.."

"Eeewww... dat don't taste good."

"..Oh Donny." Nio sighed and hefted the boy back up, reaching over the table for a napkin to wipe his face. "You're going to feel so awful in the morning, you poor thing.."

The poor unwitting boy just giggled.

Enoh waved lightly towards Donny as he called out to her, rolling her eyes as he repeated that one line over and over again. She was sure that Vidya could sing that entire song on command from the repeated viewings of "Pirates of the Carribean"...and casting a side glance at the blue child, she was right. Vidya was staring at Adonis and Nio, humming the rest of the song out loud.

Both made a face as Adonis threw up whatever it was he had consumed lately. Vidya vocaled that Enoh was thinking with a loud "Ewwww...Thas' Gross!!".

Wrinkling up her nose and looking away from the new mess on the floor, Enoh went back to Nio's question. "I seriously don't think it was Popion, dearest. I last saw Adonis and Vidya following Tybalt." She left it at that, merely glancing over towards Vincent for some sort of confirmation. When the Gunman nodded, all was confirmed.

"He's never, ever coming to the house." Enoh huffed.

Vidya wailed her distress over this.

Nio's anger was redirected, and somewhat extinguished. He could only hate a child so much, after all.

"Tybalt? -Tybalt?!-" But who could have given that boy liquor, anyway? Unless.. Nio sighed deeply, shaking his head. He probably just took it himself. He agreed fully that the boy was never entering their house, and neither was Vidya or Donny ever spending the night over at his. Ever, ever again.

"Squishee.. Donny no feel good.."

"All right, we've got everyone don't we? I say we make a break for it before the staff see the mess we left them on the floor."

He leaned in and wrapped his arm around his wife, kissing her forehead softly and giving her a private smile, before carrying Donny out with her in his other arm.

Tybalt merely stared somewhat stupefied as his erstwhile companions disappeared one by one. He stayed in his spot for a moment more before the words the mercenary had said finally penetrated his alcohol-clouded mind, and he got up slowly. While the room was spinning impressively around him, he was nowhere near as drunk as he probably should have been, given that he had consumed most of a bottle of wine on an empty stomach. After another moment was passed trying not to fall down, the pirate started moving towards the reception room--picking up the discarded bottles of wine on his way back.

"There you are!" came a voice to his side. His head turned slowly to glance at Inle, the voice's source. Even in Tybalt's drunken state, he could tell she wasn't especially happy. But then, he couldn't really blame her--she WAS still in the pastel yellow dress from the wedding. That thought in mind, he giggled, a wholly unnatural sound. Inle stopped before him, taking in his droopy wings, the bottles in his hands, and the way he swayed in place. She scowled. "Brat, you're piss drunk! Do you know that Enoh and Nio just walked out with a very sick Adonis?"

Tybalt's smirk was sloppy at best. "Id'll grow 'air onniz ches'," he slurred, holding up a bottle for emphasis. Inle promptly snatched it out of his hand, inspecting the label before sniffing the contents. Her eyes widened; this stuff was STRONG!

Her lips quirked upwards in spite of herself as she slowly helped the inebriated parrot from the room. At least her son had good taste. That almost made up for his lack of good sense.

7/31/05 - RP Recap (Incomplete)

"Stoooopppit, squishee!" Donny squealed, trying to flutter away from his father as the man continually fussed over the newly unbandaged wing. Nio reached out into the air to try and snag his rogue son one more time, before taking a deep breath and giving up.

"Donny, it wouldn't hurt to let me check it one last time before all your friends come over, would it?"

"Yes it would!" Donny whined, holding the tips of his wings protectively as he landed on top of a bookcase and perched there precariously. "No more poking Donny!" He proclaimed, staring down at his father contemptuously. "Donny demands it!"

"Oh, for crying out- .. 'demands'? Since when is that word in your commonly used vocabulary, Donny?"

Nio was partially joking - there was no way he could know all of the words Donny had learned since he had been found, but he was more right than he realized - because demand was a word Donny had never learned from any other tale, or otherwise.

No, he'd picked that one up himself.

"Daddy demands that you come down from there." Nio warned, in a voice that Donny respected just a little more than normal. The little winged boy frowned and fluttered towards his father tentatively, halting in mid-air and backing up with a glare.

"No more poking."

"All right, all right, fine. No more poking. Just tell me if your wing starts to hurt anytime, promise?"

This was a demand Donny could easily accept - after all, it was squishee's job to care for him. It was only right that he be informed when Donny was uncomfortable. Donny nodded fervently and flew into his father's awaiting arms, which scooped the boy up and walked back into the kitchen, where a colorful blur was zooming in circles, scattering flour and chocolate chips everywhere.

Nio pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. He'd just finished dealing with one winged terror, only to have to deal with another. "Asra, I said you could make cookies, I didn't say you could make a mess."

The blur of color didn't halter, but a voice bubbled from it. "Don't worry dad, I'll clean it all up when I'm done~!" The boy sung out, and a tuft of flour suddenly puffed in Nio's face. He winced at the white puff that now covered the middle of his face, and backed away slowly.

"I just hope Orestae taught him how to cook.." Nio mumbled to himself, though Donny heard it and giggled in response.

"Mommie, are they here yet?"

"No sweetie...just be patient, okay? They'll be here soon!"

"Okay." Vidya stated almost sadly, staring at the clock. The Author and Tale pair had been in the living room for some time now, and this was a conversation that came up once every ten minutes for the past half hour...and in between those little bits of conversation, Vidya would stare up at her brother and her father, giggling in glee over the entire situation. Enoh could completely understand why Vidya would keep asking this...but that didn't mean it wasn't annoying.

Slowly, it was starting to get very, very annoying.

Vidya yawned a bit, hugging the dragon plush, Kalani, close to her for the first time in probably two months. Lately, the plush had been grounded to her closet, but only recently had she decided to let him out...on the condition he was nice to her, of course. Lamely, the tale looked around the room, and then back towards Enoh. The shapeshifter knew exactly what was going to be said...and in turn, cast a 'god...save me!' glance at Nio as he and Adonis disappeared into the kitchen.

"Mooom...." The voice that was now in the room surprised Enoh, in all honesty. She'd been expecting Vidya's bubbling, curious voice...but instead got one of a distressed, and very pregnant doe. "The kitchen's a mess..." Mieke whined out her words. To the doe, the Kitchen was her own little place...and she always kept it in absolute perfect shape...Even moreso now that she was pregnant (and close to the due date, too!). Needless to say, Asra's mess was upsetting her.

"Aww...Don't worry about it sweetie. Asra will clean it up! I promise. Don't fret over it, alright...?" Enoh had stood, stepping over to her distressed daughter and giving her a reassuring hug. "And They'll be here soon, Sea Monster."

"Okay." With her question answered before she could even ask, she only happily lapsed into patient silence, swinging her legs against the couch's base and humming to the little plushie she held.

"I'm surprised they're letting you anywhere near their kids after the s**t you pulled at the wedding," Inle mumbled as she and Tybalt finally arrived at their destination. The phone call and invitation to sleep over had been a shock--she hadn't expected to hear from Enoh and Nio after Tybalt had gotten Adonis drunk at their wedding.

"Yeah, that was pretty funny," Tybalt replied with a laugh that immediately died under Inle's withering glare. He easily fended off the dark, chubby hand that reached for him, courtesy of the bright, silent boy Inle had named Calumet. "Why's 'e along anyway?" Tybalt grumbled; Calumet seemed to have formed an attachment to him, presumably due to his brightly-colored plumage, but the fondness only went one way.

"Because he wouldn't stop crying. He's not dumb, he knew you were leaving, if only overnight. You're his favorite sibling, and he doesn't want to be without you. It's almost cute. I can't wait for him to learn better." Calumet, his plan to touch his pretty-colored brother thwarted, merely sighed silently and relaxed in Inle's grasp, his head thudding harmlessly against her shoulder. Rainbow-colored eyes peeked out through mostly dark hair as he stared at Tybalt, enraptured by his colors.

"Yeah, well I don't like 'im. 'E's too clingy."

Inle rolled her eyes. "Clingy. Right. Just knock on the door already." Tybalt did so, and they waited. "Some rules for tonight: you will not swear where Enoh and Nio can hear you, you will not get ANYONE drunk, including yourself, you will not start a fight, verbal or otherwise, with anyone, and you WILL NOT leave the house with your little friends, unless Enoh and/or Nio are with you. Clear?"

Tybalt rolled his eyes and once more fended off Calumet's hand. "Whatever."

Her small backpack and sleeping bag thrown over her shoulder, Lyris frowned deeply as she stepped out of the family van in front of Donny's house. She was nervous. She had happily jumped at the chance to get out of the house and even see Donny, but she hadn't met any of the others that were going to be there..not for more than a second anyway.

Lyris glanced up at her mother as the young woman took her small daughter's hand in her own, guiding her up to the door.

"Remember to behave yourself, Rissa," Kira started. "I know being around Donny gets you hyper, but try not to break anything or make a mess."

"I won't," Lyris said flatly, her eyes cast to the ground.

"And if you want to come home, you know the number. Just ask to use the phone."

"I won't."

"You won't what?"

"Want to come home. So it's not something I have to worry about. Can you just go already?" Lyris grumbled, tugging her hand away from Kira and crossing them over her chest as she made her own way to the door.

Donny heard the door knock first, and he perked, bending around to get a good look at where Vidya was. He grinned predatorily - he knew his sister was going to try and get to the door before him.. but oh, it wasn't going to happen. He had a plan. He was prepared.

Well no, he wasn't prepared, he just figured he could fly faster than she could toddle. And he was right, too. He zipped out of his father's grasp and within seconds he was whizzing towards the door. It seemed as if he was definitely going to win, although he didn't take the time to turn and check if Vidya was really going for the door or not. That would waste precious seconds, seconds he could spent flying through the air faster than a speeding-

THUNK.

...bullet. Said bullet had just slammed into the door headfirst, as he hadn't given himself time to stop. This left him to fall on his bum, rubbing his nose.

But that would not deter him! Ohno. He would still open that door. He reached up and caught the handle with his chubby little hand, and tugged..

..but nothing happened.

So instead, he reached up with both hands, and began the slow pull of the door. Of course, it would slowly open, creepily slow in fact, though Tybalt and Lyris wouldn't be able to see Donny behind the door tugging on it. Worse yet, Donny had become so intent on opening the door, that now he left it wide open for Vidya to greet the guests first.

Plan thwarted. ):

Of course she was going to try! As soon as she heard the door, she gasped happily and nearly fell off the couch in her attempt to get off of it. Luckily, she managed to stay on her feet...but the real test was getting to the door and to their friends before her brother! As soon as she started to dart to the door, the sun-like flash of Adonis went zooming past her...

...and immediately hit the door.

Okay, there Vidya lost it. She lapsed into a fit of giggles, obviously finding Adonis to be the funniest thing on the planet right now. Still, she managed to toddle towards the door.

"Thankee, Donny!" She managed to call out through her giggles as he opened the door for her. She didn't look at their guests yet, as tempting as it was. Instead, she ignored them completely and walked around the door, tugging Adonis into the open doorframe when she returned, both of her arms around one of his. He tried so hard, it wasn't fair for her to take advantage of the situation!

NOW she looked up at their guests. If it were possible, she brightened. "Hiya Cap'n! Hiya Cap'n Momma!" Letting go of Adonis, she waved to them before giving Tybalt's legs a hug, as that was the only thing she could reach right now. She them peered at the other little girl there. "Hiya! Me seen you a'fore, right?! Viddy remembers! Pretty red hair." She nodded, as if confirming what she recalled from memory. "N'Pretty girl's Mommie, yes? HI!"

Enoh appeared shortly after in the doorway, her fingertips pressed against her lips, trying to restrain herself from an outburst of laughter similar to Vidya's. "Hi. Thanks for coming...No really, I mean it. I think Vidya was going to explode if you didn't show up soon." She giggled, shaking her head. "Ah...if you have any questions ot just want to check up, don't hesitate to call, okay?" For some reason, she felt the need to let them know they were allowed to...obviously.

Inle and Tybalt shared a look of confused surprise at the sound of Donny flying headlong into the door. She raised her eyebrows at him and he shrugged, feathers ruffling and smoothing. He immediately relaxed as the door opened and their hosts arrived, however. It had been far too long since he had last seen his young crewmates, and as annoying as Donny could be, he certainly missed Vidya. His wings and tailfeathers spread as she attacked his legs, enabling him to keep his balance. With a chuckle, he reached down and patted her head.

"'Hoy there, Vidya, 'Donis. 'S been far too long, eh?" He added with a rogueish grin and a tip of his hat to Enoh, "And a good evenin' t' you too, ma'am."

Inle almost burst out laughing. "Ma'am, wow, he must REALLY be trying to suck up!" This earned her a glare from Tybalt, and if she noticed it, she didn't appear to care. "I don't think I'll need to call. If Tybalt wants to come home, he knows the way. If he gets out of hand, well...you've still got my number, right?" Inle mentally sweatdropped. She wasn't sure if the relationship between her and the shapeshifter had changed at all due to the incident at the wedding.

Calumet stared silently down at the blue girl. Why didn't Tybalt mind her touching him? He stretched his hand towards his older brother once more, only to have it brushed away by a still-unfurled wing. Well this...this just wasn't fair! Frustration was beginning to set in, and the toddler pouted as tears welled up in his large, multi-colored eyes. The heaving of his tiny shoulders was Inle's first indication that he was crying again, and with a sympathetic noise, she held him closer. His hands covered his face as he tried to bury himself in Inle's shoulder, and his small frame was wracked with silent sobs. "Aww, Cal...Tybalt, come say good-bye to your brother!"

"Bye, brat!" Tybalt called out cheerily, glad to be away from the silent leech if only for a day.

Lyris smiled and nodded to Viddy as she took another step towards the door, looking around hopefully for Donny. Her attention was distracted, though, by the toddler next to her and the actions of his so called brother in front of her.

"That wasn't very nice," Lyris stated to Tybalt's back.

"And it's not your place to point out when someone is being rude," Kira stated before smiling at Enoh. "I'm sure she'll be fine. Lyris is...rather independent."

"Yeah, so go on and get already," Lyris grumbled, sending her mother a sharp glare.

"Who's being rude now?" Kira asked, glaring right back before turning her back on Lyris and storming towards the car.

Donny was suddenly pulled forward, letting the door stay open of it's own regard. He mentally chastised himself for letting his sister get there before him, though as always Vidya remained the better person by letting them greet their friends together. His face lit up when he saw the two, letting Vidya slide off to cling to the Cap'n while he toddled over to watch Lyris and her mother. His bright smile faded for a moment in place of a worried frown, and when Kira turned away, Donny reached out and took Lyris' hand to tug on it.

"Lyris.. not happy? What's wrong with Lyris momma?" He asked quietly, very (uncharacteristically) worried about the situation.

From the kitchen came a clatter, and Asra stopped zooming in circles, finally brushing the flour off his dark skin. He had just slipped the cookies in the oven and begun to clean himself off when he realized that everyone had headed to the doorway to greet the guests.

"Children!" He squealed happily, and hovered towards the door, fluttering his fairy wings in a buzz as he looked out to all of the children and parents. Oh, he was so glad he had come~!

His eyes fell on Calumet, drifted off, and then returned sharply. There they remained, and widened, and stared. He was silent for a full minute, from pure shock. Slowly, a smile broke on his face, and he dropped to his feet, padding over to Inle and the boy in his arms. He looked up at her, his face the picture of innocence.

"Hello. My name is Asrafel!" His eyes couldn't help but drift back to Calumet for a moment, before returning to Inle. "May I ask your names, as well?"

Lyris smiled at Donny, giving his hand a gentle squeeze, "She doesn't like that I can take care of myself so young. It's ok. She'll be fine by tomorrow," She said, moving and curling her arms around Donny. "I missed you."

In all honesty, Enoh was speechless by the...rather polite greeting by Tybalt.

Shaking her head, she pushed all those worried, lingering thoughts aside. He'd be good now, right? Right. Smiling once more, Enoh winked playfully at Inle. "Well, there're no monsters in the house That'll eat them. Well, Teivel might bark, but hey, thats expected." Really, the shapeshifter didn't put the blame on Inle for what happened. It wasn't her fault after all...it just so happened she had a pure pirate as a son. BUT...Since Vidya would have hated her if she refused to have Tybalt over, she decided to give him a second chance. "I think I've still got the traps up, come to think of it..."

"NU! No trapping tha Cap'n!" Vidya protested, giving her mother one of those infamous pleading looks. Enoh, of course, avoided eye contact with her daughter. Vidya's attention went back to Tybalt then, and she let go of his legs to grab his hand, leading him inside. "In, in!"

"Ah...Bye then! Nice to see you!" Enoh called out, having noticed a little to late that Kira was storming off. The shapeshifter had stepped aside to let Vidya through, and was thusly robbed of seeing the other woman leave. "Well then...I guess we shold all come inside? It'd make chatting more comfortable." She giggled softly, her words cut off partially by Asra's appearance.

Tybalt spared a haughtily raised brow and a curled lip towards the mouthy little toddler--a Tale like himself, he could tell--but deigned not to acknowledge her further. There were better things to focus on, like Enoh's shocked expression. He could've laughed at her speechlessness, but that would've given away his false cordiality. Instead, he smiled winningly, allowing himself to be pulled into the house by his first mate. "Aw, traps?" he continued, a note of innocence in his voice. "Do I really warrant such treatment?" Anything to avoid getting yelled at for the wedding debacle, he supposed; he had already gotten an earful about it from Inle.

"Oh, I wouldn't mind if something ate Tybalt. I just hope whatever it is doesn't choke on the feathers." She laughed as the bird subtly flipped her the bird and was about to step inside when she noticed the NAKED boy at her side. Almost instinctively, she clutched Cal tighter; there was a NAKED boy standing right next to them! She didn't count those ribbons as clothes. "Er," she started, rather eloquently, "I'm Inle, and this is Calumet. The walking, talking pillow over there is Tybalt."

At the sound of his name, Calumet looked up, tears still running down his cheeks. He looked at Inle, noticed she was looking elsewhere, and turned his head to see what made her eyes so big. His own grew big as well as he took in the ribbon-laden form of Asrafel. The boy was so colorful, just like Tybalt! With a silent grunt, Cal stretched a chocolate-colored hand towards the boy's ribbons. If he had noticed the same prickle of recognition that Asra had, he didn't show it.

It wasn't a surprise that Calu didn't seem to feel what Asra did. After all, Lillian had always told him he was special. Of course that usually followed with an insult, but he knew that underlying those scalding words was something deeper, more important. It was that same something that helped him to realize just how special Calumet was, just by being near him.

"Inle, and Calumet. How lovely~" He murmured, obviously not really interested in Tybalt. He was Asra's younger siblings playmates, and as such would be treated nicely, but Asrafel's attention now focused on the little one in Inle's arms.. and on Inle herself. He looked up at her with a sharp gaze, and a creepily innocent smile.

"Say, Calumet seems to enjoy Tybalt's company. There are enough kids staying at this sleepover as it is, why not let Calumet come as well? I work at a daycare center so I know all about kids just like him."

Just like him was an understatement.

Donny, on the other hand, was blissfully ignorant to his older brother's antics. He was currently snuggling the daylights out of Lyris and making some sort of childish purring noise of content.

"Yes of course you did! And Donny missed Lyris, too much! Tha's why you guys stay over, and we'll have cookies and Lyris stays forever!"

"Until tomorrow that is." Nio corrected, finally joining his wife at the door. He wrapped an arm loosely around Enoh's waist, just barely managing to catch Donny's words.

".. Yah. Forever until tomorrow."

He gave a half-smirk of a greeting to Inle, followed by a wave. "Nice to see you again Inle. And.. where'd Kira go? I didn't even get a chance to say hello.."

"Forever sounds nice... But Kira will probably come and drag me home if I don't go willingly. And I told her to go away," Lyris said, leaning against Donny as she looked up at Nio. "She's been in a foul mood anyway. She wouldn't have been any fun."

"Yes, You do." Enoh replied rather flatly, and being quite blunt about it. She watched Vidya guide him inside, sighing softly...'please let this night go by without incident' she thought to herself. Blinking, she looked back at Inle...and then started grinning once more. "Well...I'll be sure to adopt a bird-eating monster. Maybe a crocodile." She kept her voice lowered, so Vidya wouldn't hear her and complain. The shapeshifter giggled at Inle's reaction towards Asrafel...she'd already gotten used to it, after all. She leaned happily against her husband once he appeared next to her, the arm closest to his side pressing against her own stomach so that her hand rested upon his own. "Hiya."

"YAY Forever!" Vidya called out happily, parroting her brother. She didn't mind if they stayed forever, either! It'd be easier to be a First Mate if you didn't have to go home after a few hours. Enoh had been surprised that the small girl even heard Adonis, as she was on the far side of the living room, pointing towards the doorway that led to the basement. She explaining only happily to Tybalt that there were no monsters down there like there were at his house...just a grouchy 'old deer' (She quite enjoyed annoying the stag by calling him old, since he usually threatened to throw her in the pool. She was still waiting for that to happen, actually). Nevertheless, she assured him that it was just as interesting. "Teitei's got lotsa neat things." She finally finished, nodding only to confirm what she'd been babbering on about.

Eventually, Vidya turned and waved both of her arms over her head, trying to catch the attention of Adonis and Lyris. "Innn...C'mon Donny! Lets show Tha Cap'n and Pretty Lyris around tha house! ...Lets build a tent outside!" Her last sentence had absolutely nothing to do with showing them around the house, but ah...thats Vidya for you. Alright, so she was a little more than excited to have friends over for the night...

Just a little.

Tybalt couldn't help but mock-pout, a bit disappointed that Enoh wasn't taking to his charms. She was quickly forgotten as his first mate began speaking, and he listened avidly. "Neat things, y' say? Hmm...what kinda neat things?" A plot was already forming in his mind. He'd have to take the kids with him, though; surely this deer-creature wouldn't harm him if there was a chance of harming the little ones, right?

Inle's head turned from the very NAKED, creepy, ribbon-clothed boy at her side to her friends. "Likewise, Nio. I hope you've got your valuables locked up." And your liqour, she thought to herself. "And Enoh, make sure you tie his feet together first. Those claws of his are something else." She had seen the cracks in the basement floor after Tybalt and Vidya's adventure and couldn't help but wonder. If they were that strong as a toddler, how much more of a punch did they pack now that he was bigger?

Calumet's squirming dragged her attention back to nudie-boy. There was something not quite right about this kid... "I dunno, shouldn't you ask your parents fi--" Anything else she might have said was cut off as Calumet clapped his free hand over her mouth, his waving one joining it there shortly. The tacit toddler looked up at her with a pleading expression, eyes still puffy from his crying fit. His lower lip was still pooched out, and the way his hair fell over his face made him look more than a little pathetic. With a sigh, Inle play-gnawed his fingers, earning her a silent giggle. After spitting out Cal's fingers, which he immediately wiped upon her shirt, she turned back to the naked boy. "I suppose, as long as Enoh and Nio don't mind."

Donny petted Lyris' hair, still a bit worried about her and her mother. "If you say so.." He murmured unsurely, but the worry was soon taken away as his attention swerved to Vidya and her many little plans. He took her words literally, and scrunged his nose up at the idea of walking the pair around the actual house. As in, the outside walls. It made no sense - and there was shrubbery that he had just recently decided he HATED WITH A PASSION!

A tent, however, sounded like a fine idea. "Do we even have a tent?" He inquired, taking Lyris' hand and leading her off towards the other two.

Nio kissed the top of his wife's head and rested his chin there, his eyes following the little parade of children as they meandered through the house. They turned back to Inle just in time to hear his and Enoh's names, and smirked softly. "Are you kidding? If we minded kids in our house, I doubt we'd have allowed this. The more the merrier. Besides, Asra takes care of kids for a living. So.. with him around, I'm kind of hoping we actually have too much to worry about."

Asra's eyes lit up at Nio's acceptance. He looked back up at Inle and Calumet with unabashed glee. "It's settled then! Come on Calumet, let's go~!" He held his arms out for the boy.

Lyris smiled softly, letting herself be lead along by Donny. It was just nice to be in someplace other than the walls she had grown bored of over the past few months. Slowly, her mind drifted back to the conversation at her, "Tent? What's a tent?" She asked, blinking at Donny.

"Like...! ..Er..Uh...Well...'Dunno..." She admitted, giggling sheepishly as she drew her attention to the floor at her feet...somehow, her toes were so very interesting to her right now. Well, not as interesting as his feet. She stared at them for a moment, as if wondering if he'd had those bird claws all along. "Oh, s'right..." she murmured to herself, recalling that he did, in fact, have those same claws when he was her size...he did break the floor with them once!

Wait, what were they talking about again?

Vidya stared at the door for a moment, and then looked back up at her much taller Captain, beaming once more. "But Teitei tells me ta NOT go down there!" She nodded, as if that made sense. "Why he tell Viddy to NOT go s'mewhere if its borin'?" He could be hiding TREASURE, after all! She was rather proud of this connection.

Luckily for her, Enoh didn't here this part. Mieke however, did infact hear Vidya, but the doe said nothing...and tried her hardest to hide a mischevious giggle. The doe ended up waddling upstairs, going to her room...this was one of the few times she wished she weren't pregnant...she would have happily escorted the children into Teivel's 'dungeon'.

Turning back to Adonis, Vidya shook her head. "Prolly not! Tha's why we gotta BUILD one!" It was a rather genius plan to her. "Viddy made tent outta blankits n'chairs once!" She was rather proud of that, too. She looked as though she were about to answer Lyris, but since Lyris was looking at Adonis for the answer...she decided to say nothing.

"Will do!" Enoh replied, her tone just dripping with amusement. "Maybe I have something from my days of working with a Militia company that might help." She mused to herself, strangely wondering if she did have something strong enough to hold Tybalt's feet in check. She too recalled the marks in the floor from the toddler's claws...things like that only get more powerful with age.

"Eh...One more kid won't matter..." Without realizing it, Enoh's statement was rather ironic...and it was probably the same thing she said before adopting each of the children that now littered the house.

"Hey...should we tell her we already have tents?" She questioned Nio, looking over her shoulder at the group of Tales.

"Well," Tybalt said, mischief rife in his voice, "guess we'll jest have t' find out fer ourselves, won't we? And don't ye worry 'bout this "Teitei," I can more'n take care've 'im." The parroty pirate fluffed with confidence and pride. No dagger? No sword? No problem! Besides, how threatening could a guy named "Teitei" really be?

"Here's hoping," Inle replied to the shifter, "I'd rather not have to strip search him before he comes home." Speaking of stripping, the NAKED boy seemed very intent on Calumet. Why? Was it really just because he liked kids? Veiled purple eyes flicked between the toddler and the child. "Well...alright. Just be careful with him. When his tattoos start glowing, you should probably close your eyes. Trust me, you'll be better off." Carefully, she handed the still squirming Calumet to Asrafel.

Cal seemed to take to the older boy immediately, one hand steadying itself on the older boy's shoulder while the other flailed. The bigger boy was SO colorful! Wings, hair, ribbons...Cal was at a loss as to what to go for first! "Oh, you should probably check on him often. He may cry a lot, but he never makes a sound while doing it. Fact is, he's never made a sound at all." The toddler's previous tears were forgotten as his chubby hand finally made a beeline for Asrafel's hair.

Donny looked from Enoh to Lyris, before raising his hands up high to explain.

"It's a big thing like this where you sleep on the floor." He held his arms up like a triangle, with some difficulty due to his chubby arms. His explanation was typical of how a toddler might try to explain something, bare and minimum, and just barely understandable.

He dropped his hands and looked around for a blanket. "Will we make one out of that now?"

Nio murmured softly and nodded, leaning in to leave a quick kiss on Enoh's neck before pulling away. "I think it might be a good idea. I don't want to think about what they would try to make a tent out of this time. I'll go get it for them." After all, what good were fathers if not for pitching tents and telling scary stories? <3

Asrafel didn't mind one bit that Calumet's little fingers embedded into his hair and started pulling. He was far too interested in the fact that he'd found.. another. He grinned up at Inle, and gave her a quick wave. "We'll see you soon then! I'll take good care of Calumet." And with that he turned around and bounced the boy in his arms, heading over toward the group of children.

Lyris nodded a bit at the explaination. She didn't quite understand, but she wasn't about to say so.

"Teivel.." Vidya decided to give his full name, for more emphasis on what she was about to say. "s'very tall. Taller n'you, Cap'n! Little taller than Daddy, too!" She pointed over towards Nio. "So...Viddy'll help caption him!" She didn't quite catch her mistake...not yet, anyway.

"Yes, thatsa tent! I dunno...What c'n we build tent with...uhm... Vidya pondered over this, looking around the room for something...anything they could build with. Something different than blankets and chairs.

"Sorry to spoil your fun sweetie, but we have tents...Your Daddy's going to go get them. You don't need to build one anymore, alright?" All she got in response was an almost disappointed groan from Vidya. "...But you can help Daddy pitch it, if you want....!" Nice save, Enoh. Turning back to Inle, the shifter smiled weakly. "She's evil, Inle...evil...!"

"Pitch tha tent? Not s'posed ta THROW it! S'posed ta BUILD it!" Obviously, Vidya thought the idea was crazy...not to mention stupid.

Honestly, what was Enoh thinking?

Tybalt glanced over at Nio, judging his height. Taller than that, eh? Hmm... "Right then. You 'old 'is legs t'gether 'n I'll punch 'im in the kidneys." See, Tybalt was totally capable of teamwork! With his crew, anyway; he wouldn't have allowed anyone else to help him, regardless of how curious he was of Teivel's basement. Enoh and Vidya's words barely made it through his rapidly-plotting mind, and he looked up. "Tents? Why'd we sleep outside when there's plenty've room in 'ere?" Clearly, Tybalt was not a camping person.

"Oh, all little girls are, Enoh! That's why I'm glad I've mostly got boys!" Inle said with a half-sympathetic chuckle. At least Tybalt had grown out of the stage where he could look cute and get away with everything. Now all she had to worry about was Calumet. Speaking of her youngest, she tossed a wary glance his way and found him happily sitting in Asrafel's arms. She just hoped he didn't pull any of those ribbons off...

Calumet's squeal of joy was little more than an exhalation of air. This was fun! This boy was brightly colored and didn't mind being touched, and soon he forgot all about his infatuation with Tybalt. He released Asra's hair after a moment--it was so soft, like the fur of some of the pets that wandered around the House--and reached an arm towards the older boy's wings. He was far too short to reach it, but that didn't seem to stop him from trying.

Nio came back with one of the larger tents (he didn't think the kids wanted to split up, so might as well bring one to fit them all) and plopped it down on the sofa.

"I'm assuming you guys aren't going to bed anytime soon though, so how about one of you just tell me when you want me to pitch the tent for you?" Nio offered to the group of little midgets (and some not so little- at this thought he gave Tybalt a wary glance) and flopped down on the couch beside the large rolled up tent he'd just put down.

"I'll get you some blankets and stuff then, too."

Who'sagoodlittledaddy. Nio is! Yesheis. heart

Asra was just as infatuated with Calumet as the boy was with him. He pulled his wings back, however, as they were far too thin and fragile for tiny fingers to try and pull. "Everyone, do you all know Tybalt's little brother Calumet?" He murmured, holding the boy towards them. "Did Inle introduce you to him too? I can't recall.." He murmured with a flighty air. Well, of course he couldn't recall. He wasn't there at the time.

He then looked down and realized that he didn't know the name of one of the children, and gave Lyris a pleasant little smile. "Oh, and what's your name~?"

Even Nio was sometimes a little creeped out by how friendly Asrafel was. He was looking the other way, thankfully, unhooking the ties of the tent, so no one could see the nervous but amused smirk on his face.

Lyris turned and looked at Asra, blinking a bit, "Oh, I'm Lyris," She said, smiling shyly as she shifted the weight of her backpack around her wings.

Suddenly, Luna's head peeked out of the top of her backpack, mewling happily as she lept out onto Donny's head, looking around.

"Luuunnnaaa!" Lyris exclaimed. "You were suppose to stay home..."

"Do we gotsa punch Teitei, tho?" She leaned her head to the side, looking up at her Captain again. If she wanted to end up getting thrown in the pool one of these days, Punching was NOT a way of getting there. Why didn't she just ask to be thrown in the pool? WELL...Asking doesn't make it much fun now, does it? Vidya did, however, give Tybalt a curious look when he practically complained about sleeping outside. "S'fun to sleep outside! Cap'n not like being outside? But there's'a PRETTY Lake out there! An'na pool." Okay, so maybe he didn't like being in forests, but maybe he liked being near water? She knew that she did. "Mebbe...We build tent inside, then?" Best of both worlds, wasn't it? She looked around, then up at Tybalt again, hoping that would make him as well as the other happy.

"Calumet...? Oh! He's pretty!" Vidya then giggled sheepishly. She recalled seeing the toddler when she went to the door, but in all honesty, she was too excited about seeing Tybalt and Lyris that she didn't pay much attention to him. Now, she felt rather rude. "Me likes...eyes n' tattoos. Yep yep! Very pretty." She nodded again, as if to seal what she'd just said. She waved her hand up at Calumet. "Hiya...! M'Viddy." She had to make up for lost time now, right?

"Luna?" Vidya parroted then, curiously. She'd heard the cat's mewling, but she figured it was just Cadi floating by, and thus didn't think it was out of the ordinary. She looked around for this...other kitty, finding it admist a golden nest. "Oh! Kitty! Donny's gotta kitty on his head~" She sang happily.

"Actually...We're pretty evenly matched when it comes to genders. Its actually a little scary." Enoh's own chuckle was obviously one of nervousness. "Here's to hoping she grows soon...because pouting is evil when its by a toddler like her."

The shifter followed Inle's gaze towards Arsafel and Calumet, chuckling softly. "Those Ribbon's won't come off, you know. Nothing to worry about! Calumet is adorable, however...must be strange to have a completely silent child around the house. I remember how noisy your house can be." She giggled happily this time...and hey, the house was particularily noisy that day mainly because the Pirates were provoking a chupacabra.

"Eh? Build a tent inside the house? ...Hm. Ask your father. He'll be the one pitching it for you." She gave Nio a slight grin accompanied by a wink.

Calumet struggled after the far-off wing only as long as it took him to get distracted again, which wasn't very. A wiggling ribbon caught his attention, and his hand dove towards it. It was so pretty! So pretty, in fact, that he blocked out the mention of his name, the compliments Viddy gave him, even the fluffy kitty that seemed to appear out of nowhere. After a moment of flailing, he caught the end of the captivating ribbon...and immediately stuffed it in his mouth.

Tybalt rolled his eyes at the proper introduction of his little brother. He wasn't impressed by the technicolor toddler--to him, it was just another kid to fend off in an effort to protect his precious plumage. He really couldn't blame people for lusting after him, but didn't they have any dignity? Anything at all to tell them that to admire from afar was better than trying to get up close and personal, lest they get punched in the face? Whatever. "We don't HAVE t' punch Teitei, I 'spose...but it dun't sound like 'e'd let us explore 'is room without a fight." He reached down to pat Viddy on the head, only to notice her expression at his distaste of camping. He sighed before grumbling, "No, I guess we can sleep outside..." Could it be? Was this ruthless, self-centered pirate gaining a heart? Nah, he just didn't want to deal with Vidya pouting all night.

"It's...certainly different. Good in that any tantrum he throws is silent, but bad because I never know if he's hurt or anything." Inle shrugged. "I know he's curious about a lot of things, but he never tries to explore. He's the kind of kid that's content to let things come to him, I think." An astute observation, for someone who had only known Calumet for about a week.

Asrafel thought that Vidya and Donny's friends were such little angels. Of course, he hadn't gotten to know Tybalt that well yet, but Lyris' shy smile melted his heart, and of course he already knew he'd like Calumet. His little brother and sister obviously had good taste in picking friends.

"It's nice to meet you, Lyri-ooh a kitty!" Asrafel squealed none-too-girlishly, turning Calumet to see it. "Look Calumet, a k-ooh no you don't want to eat those.." Asrafel had felt Calumet put his ribbons in his mouth before seeing it, and it made him giggle ticklishly. He pulled it out of the babies mouth quickly and pointed toward the kitty for the toddler to see.

Donny beamed up at the kitty, holding his chubby arms upward awkwardly for Luna to climb into should she choose to jump into them. "Luna! Why would pretty Lyris not want Luna to come to sleepover too?" Donny questioned curiously, when his eyes fell on Lyris.

Nio would have pitched the tent inside, despite how much moving around he'd have to do to pitch the large tent he'd picked out. But, he said nothing. He just sat there and waited for the little munchkins to work it out between each other - and sure enough, they eventually came to the conclusion that outside would be better. Nio put his feet up on the coffee table and lounged back on the couch with a smile. Now that's what I call good parenting skills.

"I wanted her to come!" Lyris pouted. "But Kira said she had to stay home. Oooo, she's going to be so mad when she shows up tomorrow, and Luna is here. I already snapped at her. She's gonna be mad..." Lyris said, gnawing on one of her thumbs. Now, just a few minutes ago, Lyris had seemed very happy that she had made her guardian mad. Man, this girl was weird.

Luna jumped into Donny's arms, snugging against him and purring happily, her eyes glittering. She was just as glad to be out of the house as Lyris was. She wasn't about to stay home when their oppurtunity came up.

"Oh...yeeeah...tha souns'like him. Maybe Tei's'not home!" Vidya seemed hopeful about this. A lot of times, Teivel just...disappears without warning. Well, maybe he tells Enoh, but Vidya certainly is never around to see this happen. Since she had yet to see the stag today, she figured he went out while she was upstairs this morning. Needless to say, Vidya looked happy as a puppy when he reached down to pat her...and if she had a tail, it would most definately be wagging.

However, at his rather uncharacteristic submission, Vidya's happy-puppy expression turned into a rather skeptical one, staring up at him. Okay, NOW she felt bad. Her sidewings lowered a little bit, feeling rather guilty about having made her Captain submit to something he obviously didn't like...but mind you, this wasn't the first time she'd managed to do this. Vidya paused a moment, looking at the ground now in an attempt to figure out what to do.

"...S'up ta you, Cap'n...We sleep inside if you want." She said slowly, after her pause. Obviously the other two tales didn't care where they slept, so naturally, it was up to her and Tybalt...and of course Tybalt outranked her, so it was up to him, in her eyes.

Her white gaze was slowly moved back over to Lyris, and then to the kitty her brother now held. "Why's'yer Momma gonna be mad about the kitty not being a'home?" She inquired curiously...it was rather odd.

"You win some, you lose some, I guess..." The shapeshifter breathed out softly, considering what her friend had said. It made sense of course, and there were some days where Enoh wished her kids were silent like Calumet. "Ah well...Oh, before I forget...is there any time you wanted Calumet and your Tur...err...Pirate...back home?" She snickered softly, scratching lightly at the back of her neck.

Nooo, not more color deprivation! Calumet was about ready to protest--brightly, if not loudly--before his short attention span was captivated by the kitty. Aww, it was CUTE! And it looked so cuddly, and fluffy, and Cal just wanted to squeeze it into tiny, tiny pieces. Inle had always tried to keep him away from small animals due to his very "hands-on" nature, but this one wasn't hers. Immediately, Calumet reached for it, chubby hands opening and closing in a customary "gimme please" motion.

Little did Vidya know that there were a LOT of things Tybalt would do for her that he would do for absolutely no one else. Was he about to admit that? Did he even recognize the fact? No, and no. He was about to reply to his first mate when the ribbon adorned naked boy--wait, NAKED boy? Why was he NAKED?--made a show of pointing out both the cat and his little brother. With a moue of distaste, he replied, "I don't give a s**t where we sleep, s'long as ye keep those two--" here he pointed to Calumet and Asrafel, "far, far away from me."

"Language, Tybalt," Inle reminded the surly pirate.

"Piss off," he mumbled in response.

Inle rolled her eyes as she turned back to Enoh. "Does never work for you?"

Donny giggled at the snuggling kitty. "Donny glad Luna came too." He coo'd at the kitty, before finally paying attention to the conversation at hand. He had an opinion, he had just not paid attention enough to realize what they were talking about. All at once he felt his opinion should be known. It was, after all, most important.

"Donny want to sleep OUTSIDE!" He chimed upward at Tybalt, grinning broadly. If they couldn't make a decision, then he would! He would sleep out of the tent and watch the stars all night.

Asrafel was a little insulted by Tybalt's remark, but he soon began to realize that he might have made a misjudgement on his part concerning just how polite this friend of his siblings was. Telling his own mother to piss off, really! He returned his attentions to Calumet, watching him make grabby hands for the kitty. He did nothing to help or hinder this. If the kitty trusted Calumet, it would come to him.

Luna cooed, nuzzling Donny's cheek affectionately before noticing Calumet out of the corner of her eye. Slowly, she turned to watch him, her silvery blue eyes dancing with curiousity before she gave a toothy, uncatlike grin and mewled, jumping out of Donny's arms and sauntering over towards the little boy.

Lyris glanced over at Vidya and shrugged, "Kira always gets mad when I don't do what she says. She says it's getting to hectic for her to take care of so many kids without any help and us not listening doesn't do her any favors," Lyris repeated the lecture she had heard once or twice in the past month.

Vidya looked, needless to say, a little startled by Tybalt's response. She stared up at him with wide eyes, her arms curling to hug tightly against her small form. Quickly, the toddler looked away, turning her gaze towards Asrafel and Calumet...and wondered why it was Tybalt was so...well, she wondered why he disliked them. Then again, the baby DID grab at a lot of things...maybe he tried to pull her Captain's feathers? Vidya recalled what Olivia had told her about Tybalt and his feathers. "Okay, Cap'n.." She replied a little meekly.

"Then...we sleep outside." She murmured softly in response to Adonis, though she was halfly directing her statement back towards her father. So then it was settled, yes? They were sleeping outside. Vidya felt a sort of happy feeling at this...though she felt kinda guilty about it still.

"Really? Viddy helps Momma n' 'Eke do stuff! Liiike...cookin', or...foldin' stuff or mopping! S'fun...! She fondly remembered the time she got to use the Swifer to clean up a mess in the kitchen. Vidya had so much fun with it she even ended up swiffering the windows.

"If you want, I can have Tybalt have a little 'accident'." Enoh mused a bit, tapping her fingertips against her lips. "Y'know, the kind where people go missing and don't come back." She hide her amused snicker now, and of course, she made a mental note to never, ever let Vidya repeat anything he said. "Being his Author, its entirely up to you...But I DO have very effective methods at my disposal." At this, she turned to her friend and gave her without doubt the largest, Absolute Zero smile ever.

Hooray, the walking ball of squeezable goodness was coming closer! Calumet seemed to squee silently, waving his arms in the air. His feet twitched a bit as well--he wanted to get down to see the kitty! His tattoos seemed to glow a bit in his excitement, and if one were paying attention they might notice that the colors of his eyes seemed to swirl.

Scarlet feathers ruffled and smoothed like a sea of grain in the wind, and a single wing extended slightly to curl around Vidya although its owner didn't seem to notice the girl's distress. Any problems he had with Calumet came from their home life, and his immediate dislike of Asrafel came from the Shattered boy's lack of clothes; Tybalt would rather have fabric between them in the event that they accidentally touch. Cold eyes narrowed at the shapeshifter's words and he scowled openly at her, all attempts at geniality towards his first mate's mother gone. "Missing," he grumbled, "I'll make YOU go missing. Missing at th' bottom of th' ocean."

Inle chuckled, waving a hand dismissively. "As easy as things might be without Tybalt around, you've got to admit he adds a bit of excitement." She had noticed the parrot's growing upset, and appealing to his large ego was always a good way to calm him down.

When Luna hopped out of his arms to meet Calumet, Donny took the opportunity to give Lyris a sudden and unexpected hug, before pulling away and toddling toward the couch. He used a moment's gust of wind created by his wings to hop over the couch and land squarely on his reclining father's lap. The man let out a rush of air at the sudden weight, and groaned slightly, eyeing his son with one eye open.

"OUTSIDE!"

"Yes, Donny. Outside. The tent will be ready before you guys are ready for bed."

"OUTSIDE NOW."

Donny had become increasingly bossy the past few days, and it no longer retained it's charming cuteness. His father picked him up and turned on the couch, planting him back on his feet behind it without a word. Donny turned and glared at his father's wordless response, but all he managed to get a glimpse of what a chock of purple hair from the back of his head.

When Donny turned to look up at his friends once more, the flash of indignance was gone from his eyes, and he was as sweet as ever. He reached out and petted Lyris' hair affectionately, before looking up at Tybalt with a grin as if nothing had happened.

Asrafel watched the tattoos glowing and heeded the warning, setting Calumet down at his feet and crouching to watch him. The cat seemed to like him, so there wouldn't be a problem, right?

Lyris couldn't help but watch Donny with an odd interest. He certainly did know what he wanted. That was a good thing. Of course, that brief hint of adult level thought vanished as Donny started to stroke her hair. She cooed, closing her eyes, "Donny is so nice to Lyris."

Luna paused, watching Calumet with interest. The tattoos on his arm were glowing. That seemed a bit odd, but still quite interesting. Slowly, she padded forward again, grinning up at Calumet and propping her paws up on his leg, mewling happily.

Vidya let out a startled cry as a few down-coloured feathers suddenly came into her pheripheral vision, the tale's instant reaction was to cling to the nearest possible object...which just so happened to be Tybalt's leg...and of course she clung to it to save her life. That wasn't fair, coming into her blind side! She stared in wide-eyed terror at his wing...that is, until she realized it was his wing. Vidya stared at it for a little while longer, and then slowly let her death grip on her Captain's leg lessen, to the eventual point of letting go.

She didn't even hear Tybalt's threat towards her mother, thanks to her startle. Instead, she gave him a sheepish smile. "Sorry...Viddy not payin' 'tention...scared Viddy, yes..."

"Momma? We go outside? Pwease?" Alright, lets forget that he'd scared the wits out of her...lets do something else instead! Vidya was always much better at Donny when it came to being civil about things.

Enoh had been about to move towards her daughter upon hearing her cry out...however, once the shapeshifter noticed which side of Vidya Tybalt's wing had moved around, she understood why the blue tale cried out like she did. She visibly relaxed about it. "Yeah...I have to admit that, Inle. Always a surprise with that boy." She hadn't meant for Tybalt to hear her, but once she was certain that he had, she too tried to calm him down...subtley, though.

"Go outside? For what, sweetie? Are you gonna help Daddy build the tent?"

"Well...nuu...Viddy means, if Daddy WANTS help, we help...but...Viddy wantsta show tha Cap'n n' Lyris tha lake!" She seemed eager about it...but then again, the lake was one of Vidya's favourite places. It had WATER in it!

"Eh...Well...If its alright with your Father and Inle here...I have no problem with it. Oh..." The shapeshifter started, looking away from the kids completely...just in time to see a white-headed, lithe youth come walking down the stairs. "And as long as Teivel goes with you."

The Stag groaned with dislike at this idea...obviously, he regretted coming down the stairs. However, he knew he wouldn't be getting out of this if the other two agreed, so he merely grumbled his response, his golden eyes narrowed. "Fine."

Tybalt looked down sharply, ire forgotten at his first mate's distress. Almost without thinking, he reached down to stroke her hair in a comforting manner, not seeming to mind the momentary death grip she had on his leg. "Sorry 'bout that, forgot yer ah...situation." The wing retracted, folding tightly to his back as if to prevent startling Vidya further. His hand remained atop her head, the red a startling contrast to the blue--yet another indication of the many differences between them, physical and otherwise. He looked up at the mention of Teivel, sapphire eyes watching this newcomer critically. THIS was Teivel? Pah. He didn't look like much of a threat. Looting his "dungeon" would be a cakewalk.

Calumet clapped his hands happily, tattoos glowing brighter with happiness. As the kitty reached him, he immediately grabbed for it, awkwardly bringing it to his chest in a hard, awkward hug. The toddler hadn't yet learned the difference between delicate animals and hardier humans. With a happy wriggle, he rubbed his glowing cheek against the kitty's head.

"Oh, I don't mind if they go outside. Just...well, Tybalt can't swim. Between those feet and his wings, he'd sink like a rock--oh, Cal, be careful with the kitty, it's not yours!" And damned if she was gonna pay any vet bills if he somehow managed to injure it.

"That's okay, neither can Donny. His wings would soak up the water and he would drown." Nio replied to Inle's comment because he had stood up after the decision had been made, and carried the tent toward the door. He leaned down to sneak a kiss from Enoh's lips before lugging the mega-tent toward the back door to go set it up.

It was a fact Donny didn't like to think about, simply because he loved the water - and he loved to swim in the shallow pools he was allowed in. But the lake.. all he could do was skim the surface while flying. That was kind of fun, though. And at least he'd have Tybalt who couldn't swim either! He looked at Lyris, nodding in agreement with her statement before asking her, "Does Lyris swim? The lake is pretty."

"I swam once," Lyris said, biting down on her pointer finger of one of her hands. Though, she didn't think to mention that Trollax had been holding her up that once.

Luna simply purred. She was a stable cat, not about to be squished by a massive hug. She leaned up, licking at Calumet's cheek, nuzzling her head against him as she purred some more. This little boy was much more affectionate than Lyris was her most of the time. Well, anymore, at least. Luna liked the attention.

Still, Vidya looked rather sheepish from her mistake. "S'okay...n'Viddy's sorry too!" Of course, she was again referring it the death grip she had on him. With that done, she turned and stared at Teivel, her expression rather blank for but a moment. HE had to go with them....YAY! Vidya's face fit up again, and she clapped her hands together infront of her. "Yay! Den we go swimmin'! Err...to ta lake. Viddy'll go swimmin'!" Of course, she knew well enough to not stray too far...for many reasons...and this was mainly why Enoh was alright with it. The tale was a smart girl, and now that she had friends to go with her and Teivel to watch them, she'd be doubly careful to not go in too far.

Vidya waved at her Captain while edging towards Lyris...if they were going swimming, they needed somethings! "Lyris have bathin' suit? Me has some tha're too big...maybe you fit inta them? Wanna try, anyway?" She leaned her head to the side. Of course, she had no swimsuits for boys...but Lyris she could probably have something for, if the girl wanted it.

Luckily, she missed seeing Nio steal a kiss from Enoh. Lately, Vidya had been having way too much fun teasing her parents by "Eww"ing at them whenever she saw them kiss. Enoh had been about to respond to Inle when Nio stole the kiss...but when she was about to return it, he'd already started lugging the tent away! Bugger. Oh, She'd get him back for that one...

Smirking, she watched Nio leave before turning back towards Inle. "He can't swim? Really? Well...I guess that makes sense. I'd wager swimming with claws would be difficult...but either way, she's hell bent on showing the lake to him..." The shapeshifter chuckled, brushing silver strands of her hair from her face.

Teivel, on the other hand, didn't look as pleased with the idea as Vidya did. Instead, he walked around Tybalt, giving the down-covered boy a narrowed eyed glance as he went. Geez, Vidya attracted strange friends...Sighing a bit, he opened the door that Tybalt was half-blocking and went downstairs, going to change into his swimtrunks, just incase. "God I hate this..." He murmured under his breath.

Tybalt's eyes narrowed at the much taller Teivel, his wings rising slowly, feathers ruffling to make himself look bigger. He took silent measure of the Tahnee before deciding that yes, he could beat him in a fight, especially with his crewmates' help. Before the night was out, the treasures of Teivel's cave would be his. Theirs. Whatever.

Inle politely looked away as man and wife kissed, turning to watch Calumet carefully. Some of the more quick-tempered animals in the h

9/14/05 - RP Recap

Vidya seemed to be trying twice as hard to keep herself active as of late, and to Enoh, it was becoming more and more apparent that there was something wrong with her small blue child, though what it was happened to be a mystery to them both.

So today, Vidya insisted on going to the park, figuring to herself that with all the fun things to do there, she'd be less prone to just...fall asleep on the places she used to, like the stairs, for example. In the end, Enoh had no choice but to comply...though it made sense to her that fresh air would probably be good for her charge at this point in the game.

It had only been about a ten minute walk from their house to the park, and once they arrived, Vidya made a bee line towards the jungle gym, staring up at it. She was recalling how hard it was to climb on that one time when they'd met Tybalt in this same park. Naturally, a challenge like this would be sure to keep her awake!

"Momma! Gonna be over here, kay? Kay!" She called back to Enoh, before straining her arms up to grasp the third bar with her small blue hands, and settling her feet upon the first bars. Step one, complete! ...Now to get to the top. She reached up for the next bar, and slowly continued on the climb.

The park was so peaceful this time of day, and Tybalt was content to laze about in the branches of the tall tree in the park's center, the one he had claimed as his own. He enjoyed this time of day; most of the bratty kids were still in school, and he mostly had the park to himself. He dozed quietly, a taloned foot hanging off the branch, the tips of his wings peeking out from behind the leaves. Images of battles never fought, or perhaps those of a time long past, ran through his mind, making him smile. He was rarely so content, so at peace with the world and everything in it. Sleep was about to claim him...but it was not to be. A loud, familiar voice broke through his gentle doze, startling him into immediate wakefulness.

Well. So much for his nap. It would have been so much for his good mood as well, had he not immediately recognized the voice.

"OI!" he called from his spot before slipping off his branch. He plummeted to the earth for a moment before spreading his wings, allowing him to land softly. They folded against his back as he strode to the edge of the play pit. He wouldn't enter it if he didn't have to; he hated the way his feet sank into the sand, the way tiny grains always managed to infiltrate the scales of his lower legs.

"What're ye doin', midget?" he asked, his friendly tone overriding his affectionate insult.

One of the shorter trees, near the fringe of the forest line that fringed the play ground twitched as a sudden weight was added to it. Loose pine needles shook and fell to the ground as Aido's head emerged from their masses, the weak branches of the cusp creaking beneath her weight.

"This is not Isle de Gambino," she grumbled, the island wasn't even big enough for a park, let alone non-tropical trees. She was usually off in her Shadow Walking, but not miles off!

With a disgruntled sigh she looked about, tilting her head when she heard two vaguely familar voices near by. Swivling her head she disspeared into the mas of pine needles and emerged on the other side again, catching sight of the two distinct Tales at the jungle gym.

With a smile she waved in greeting, though they probably couldn't see her and called, "Hey! Viddy! Ty-" the second named ended in a none-too-happy yelp as the branches she had been standing on broke and she dissapeared back into the tree.

Tybalt's sudden call nearly made Vidya loose her grip on the jungle gym. Luckily for her, she flailed a little bit and managed to grab a bar, clinging to it for dear life, her white eyes as wide as saucers. With an almost nervous exhale, she slowly looked over her shoulder just in time to see her Captain make his way towards the play pit. "Ah...heh...Hiya...Cap'n..." She breathed out in that same nervous exhalation, her eyes closing as if mentally sweatdropping.

After a few minutes, she finally recovered from the inital shock, and felt it safe to loosen her grip back to normal on the bar. "Climbin'" She stated simply, sticking her tongue out at him as her way of getting payback for the name-calling. "Wanna come pla--" This time, she was cut off by a second yelp of surprise as yet another person called out to them. However, unlike last time, she wasn't as lucky in the recovering part...nope, this time her hands slipped right off the bars from the startle, and she tumbled into the awaiting sand, only a bar or two down. Her actions, strangely enough, mirrored Aido's...only Vidya didn't disappear.

"Ow..." When she felt it safe enough to sit up, she did so, lightly rubbing the back of her head from the fall. Luckily for her, the sand wasn't all that painful to land in! She shook some of the sand from her long hair, calling out to her mother to let her know she wasn't hurt (Enoh was playing with baby Iva in the babies section of the playground, and thus couldn't rush as quickly to Vidya's side as she would normally have), and then looked around for the source of the second voice.

"Eeee...Now me gotsta climb it 'gain...Oh well! Cap'n, didja hear Ai?" She cranked her neck to look up at Tybalt, almost as if she'd never fallen off the jungle gum in the first place.

Tybalt turned at the voice that started to call his name. He didn't have time to recognize the caller as Aido before she disappeared into the depths of the pine tree. Any movement he might have made towards Aido stopped as his first mate fell as well, and he winced; although the drop wasn't that far, it looked like it may have hurt. A look of brief concern marred an otherwise stern and haughty face as he watched her to see how bad the damage was. Vidya's fall couldn't have been that bad if she had already recovered from it, he determined, and looked back at the tree once more.

"Aye, I did." Ai...the name sounded familiar. Was it another Tale? He couldn't be sure, it had been so long since he had seen any Tales other than Vidya and Adonis. How'd she get up there? he wondered. He could see pretty much the entire park, save what was behind him, from his previous perch, and he hadn't noticed Aido before. Odd...

"D'ye think she's in trouble? Really, you girls 'n yer clumsiness..." he tsked and shook his head, making his way to Aido's tree. He stopped at the trunk, looking up, trying to peer through the thick needles. "Oi, are ye alright up there?" He hoped she said yes, he didn't want to have to climb up after her. He knew from experience how uncomfortable it was to get pine needles stuck in his feathers.

Caught somewhere near the middle of the tree Aido gave her head a small shake as the voices of the other Tales neared, trying to orient herself after the sudden fall and stop. The motion dislodged a small amount of the pine needles which were now lodged in her hair and clothing.

"Ugh..." oh how she hated falling out of trees, she wasn't really fond of falling out of anywhere really, but trees had branches which wipped at the face and arms and made landing difficult. Luckily her satchel had caught on one of the sturdier branches and she'd latched onto the bag itself. With a last shake of her head she manuvered herself onto one of the large branches nearby, that would actually hold her weight and dislodged the satchel from its branch, quickly double checking its contents just as Tybalt's head poked into view.

"M'fine!" she called back automaticly, examining the minor cuts and soon to be bruises on arms caused by the branches, though the shirt itself had taken most of the beating, before truly focusing on the other Tale's face, "oh! Heya Cap'n! So it was you," she said with a grin and a small wave of her fingers.

"Good!" She repeated to herself, now glad that it wasn't only her that heard the voice this time (she bitterly recalled Kalani...). Jumping onto her feet, Vidya fought off a small dizzy spell before running to catch up with Tybalt as he walked away, to go investigate Aido. "Me HOPES she s'not in trouble." Her side wings lowered a bit at his tsk. She didn't MEAN to be clumsy! In all truths, they both SCARED her!

"...Ai?" Vidya called up softly, standing beside her Captain and peering into the same pine needles he was, even though her vision wasn't as great as his. After a few minutes of searching, Vidya finally caught sight of what she believed to be Aido. With a happy squeak, Vidya raised up her small blue arms to wave. "Aido! Hiya!"

Suddenly, it hit her. Aido was in a pine tree. Pine trees weren't fun to climb! They hurt...So, naturally..."...Whattcha doin' in tha tree?".

Tybalt's eyebrows rose as he finally placed the name with the face, realizing a little late that the girl in the tree was Aido. Wow, he hadn't seen her in months! They had been little more than babies then...and hadn't Vidya been there? Wasn't that the night they went on their first treasure hunt? Ah, good memories, if a bit fuzzy.

"Ahoy, Aido! It's been awhile, eh?" He smiled easily, remembering Aido as an ally if nothing else. It was nice to see that she had grown--too many of those he considered close were still toddlers, and Tybalt had no desire to captain a crew full of mere babies.

"'N how'd ye get up there, anyway?" he added onto Vidya's question.

Aido's halo glowed warmly at the sight of the two other Tales, glad she hadn't called out to the wrong beings, and she slipped down a few more branches so she could better hear and see them.

"Heya Viddy. It has been a long time, hasn't it? How're you two?" she asked, seating herself firmly down on a sturdy branch, idly pondering just jumping the last eight feet or so to the ground. Though she would have to wait a bit until Vidya and Tybalt weren't in the landing space, she douted either of them would appreciate being used as a landing pad.

At the questions she blinked and looked up to her original perch for a moment then back to them. "Erm... well, I didn' mean to end up there, it was sorta an accident," she stated with a light shrug. It was the truth, though she was still a quite perplexed by the fact that she'd ended up in park at all. But Tybalt and Vidya were here, so it didn't matter too much and she could always try to figure it out later, she'd much rather see the other Tales then wander around the island anyway. "I was just looking around when I saw you two."

"Long, LONG time, yep..." She smiled a bit, waving up at the other once more. "Viddy's good!" Alright, so that was a half-lie...lately hadn't been too good for her, mainly due to this inexplainable exhaustion (not that she'd let them know about it, of course!)...but other than that, she was the same 'ol Vidya. "n'How's Ai? You've gotten bigger! Tha halo's still very pretty!" She recalled having admired it before, of course.

As the idly listened to Aido's explaination, the blue tale began to find it hard to keep her eyes open. In fact...her entire body felt heavier now, and it felt that the main source of the weight was somewhere deep within her chest. Instantly, Vidya panicked. She wasn't going to get tired! She wasn't going to fall asleep here, especially with Aido and Tybalt near her! Not if she had anything to do about it! She forced her mind to focus on something. Alright...what was there to work with. A tree. Alright...there's a start...now...Hey, wasn't Aido in that tree? Suddenly, the answer came to her.

Willing her weighted limbs to move, she pointed at the tree. "D'yah think me could climb it too?" And even before she got an answer, she'd already forced herself to move forward and try it, painful pine tree or not.

"I be fine, Ai...yerself?" The young pirate wouldn't pry, regardless of how curious he was. He wouldn't want to admit making a mistake either...er, not that he ever made them, of course. No, everything he did, blunder or not, was calculated to fit some end or another. Right. Hey, he got by fine telling himself just that, and anyone who naysayed him could go to hell. Still, he was puzzled as to what kind of mistake led to getting stuck in a tree.

Tybalt's gaze moved from the older Tale to the toddler before him. He immediately went after her, looping an arm around her waist and lifting her away from the tree. He knew the rough bark of the pine wasn't suitable for climbing, and he didn't want her to get hurt--especially not with Enoh so close. The damnable woman would find some way to pin the blame on him, he was sure. "No," Tybalt said, gently placing Vidya on the ground. "The rough bark'll cut yer skin t'ribbons. Ye don't want that, do ye?"

Silently Aido was greatful for the lack of prying; it wasn't that she wouldn't explain if asked, it was just she had next to no experience with explaining the ability.

"M'alright," she chimed, giggling quietly at the bigger comment and the one about her halo, which seemed to glow gently with pleasure at the praise. Still, this calling back and forth was getting tiring. She slid her sleeves a bit farther down, over her hands so that her fingers wouldn't be hurt by the bark, and moved across the tree.

At Vidya's question she paused and shook her head, looking back down, "Cap'n's right Viddy, this bark slices and hurts, not good at all for climbing," she shook a sleeve up, baring a scrapped wrist as evidence before she slipped the sleeve back down and continued her search for a suitable exit from the branches.

After a few more moments of crossing over branches she came to one that had a clear area spread out beneath it and easily hopped out of tree's confines, feet digging into the ground as she landed. Sweet freedom!

Turning she headed back around to where the other two Tales were.

Normally in this state of exhaustion, she would have whined about not being able to do what she was going to...but if her Captain said it would hurt, more than likely it'll hurt really bad. After all, he barely ever said anything hurt...of course she was recalling the whole getting his talons stuck in the cement incident.

So she said nothing, making no fuss as he put her back onto the ground. The tale looked back up at Aido as she confirmed what Tybalt had said, her nose wrinkling up a bit at the sight of the cut skin. "No, me not want that." She finally replied to Tybalt, though she smiled a bit sheepishly now, her sidewings lowered a little bit in the same manner.

Okay, next topic...! Or so Vidya figured, as Aido began to move around the branches. If what both of them had said had been true, then Aido's branch walking must have hurt her. The blue tale stared at the older girl for a moment, though her eyes were strangely guarded, thinking something through.

Finally, with a barely audible gasp, Vidya turned and ran back to her mother and Iva, their twin red eyes giving Vidya a curious look. Smiling and waving to her Author and Sister, she grabbed something from an open sidebag and ran back to her friends...or rather, past Tybalt, and around to Aido, holding up the items she had snagged; long bandages. "Here, Ai! S'for tha hurts." She grinned proudly, figuring she made up for the sheepish feeling she had earlier.

Tybalt was mildly surprised as Aido hopped out of the tree with relative ease. While he didn't remember much of his one-time ally, he hadn't gotten the impression that she was the tree-jumping kind...although he was glad she had turned out to be. He certainly didn't want to go up there and get her. Tybalt nodded as if in approval before turning back to his young first mate.

"Nor should ye, Viddy...yer still a little kid, ye should be more careful." His tone was far from chiding, merely a statement of fact to cover his a** should Vidya actually get hurt and Enoh come for his head. He scowled at the author as Vidya ran towards her--he didn't like her, not after that whole sleepover incident. He supposed he had to let her live, however, if only for Vidya's sake. Ah, well.

Aido blinked shortly as she was presented with the bandages, before nodding in gratitude to the younger Tale, "thanks Viddy."

Sitting down by the tree the older Tale rolled up her sleeves, brushing away the Shadows which had been clinging to the slight injuries, and, oh yes, there was the stinging. Grimacing as the cool feeling she associated with the Shadows was replaced with the sting of jostled open flesh she quickly went to bandaging what needed to be bandaged, though thankfully there wasn't too much to cover, as her shirt really had taken most of it. While she worked her eyes flitt back to the other two Tales.

"What're Viddy and Cap'n' up to anyway?" she asked curiously, remembering that the two Tales were pirates, and where pirates gathered usually some sort of adventure or at least exploration wasn't far away, right? Unless that really only happened in books, but somehow she doubted it. Real life and the stories books told seemed to criss cross all the time anyway.

"...Okay." She murmured to herself. Vidya seemed to frown at the mention of her still being a little kid. Its not that she wanted to be this size! She couldn't help it! Though she did feel some sort of regret that she wasn't yet as big as the Captain...but she was working on it, Gosh Darnit! One day she'd surprise him! Just...BAM! No more little kid. Then she'd be more useful to him! That thought seemed to make her happy, and her frown vanished. One day, one day...

Her thoughts were snagged back to the present when she heard her name once more. The blue child blinked at Aido for a moment, and then pointed again to her mother, who was amusing Iva by holding her on one of those horses that sat on a spring. "Viddy came with Momma to play, an'...Tha Cap'n found me!" She giggled a little bit, dropping her arm back to the side. "An' what was Aii up to?"

Tybalt watched Aido intently, sea-blue eyes narrowing in suspicion as she literally shooed patches of shadow away. How was it that his fellow Tale could control the darkness so? His feathers ruffled at the implication of magic, and his good mood was tainted by a sudden, inexplicable anger. Sharp talons dug into the ground--he would not lose his temper in front of his first mate and this...this...

Witch, his mind supplied all too willingly. Whether Aido was a witch or not seemed to be irrelevent; the presence of such magic bothered him. His wings shifted almost restlessly before settling once more along his back, though his feathers remained fluffed. "Aye, I was sittin' in th' big tree when I heard Vidya." His voice remained level in an attempt to cover his agitation and only partially succeeded.

Aido's halo's glow twitched slightly, lessening then returning to its normal, slight glow as it dipped a bit closer to her head. The only acknowledgement that Aido had felt Tybalt's gaze on her and it was making her uncomfortable as she finished bandaging her arms and palms and slipped her long sleeves back over them offering Vidya the remaining bandages in return.

Her eyes stayed on Vidya and only flickered to Tybalt when he spoke, lips dipping into a slight frown at his agitation, then back to Vidya to reply, "I was just plannin' on exploring." Of sourse she'd been planning on exploring Gambino, but she had no plans of attempting to get to the small island again that day. Who knew where she'd end up.

Naturally, Vidya noticed his ruffled feathers...it was so obvious to her because she was standing beside him. She glanced up at him curiously, though she instantly corrected herself and looked back at Aido; she knew enough to not ask, and she also knew that if she watched him trying to calm himself down, her curiousity would be unbearable, and she'd have to ask. So to her, it was best to just ignore the ruffled feathers all together. Vidya would never understand why Tybalt got restless when Aido shooed the shadows away; she was, after all, very comfortable in the presence of magic...probably more comfortable than she would be anywhere else, her own house included.

She took the bandages that were returned to her, and instead of taking them back to Enoh, she held them close to her. It would be rude to run off now! "Explorin'? So you...went into tha tree to getta bigger view...?" She leaned her head to the side, giving the older girl a most curious look. WHY Aido chose the Pine Tree was beyond her, but really, thats the only way the whole pine tree bit made sense. She then pointed at herself. "C'n me an' Tha Cap'n go explorin' too?" She didn't know if he WANTED to come or anything...but she thought she'd ask anyway...to extend the invitation. Exploring with Tybalt was fun, and Aido was fun, so by all accounts, Exploring with Aido should be fun too!

As the girls conversed, Tybalt worked on getting himself under control, internally berating himself for getting so agitated--what's worse, the girls had seen it, or at least he assumed they had. How could they not? They were standing right there, after all. No, such outward displays of emotion just wouldn't do, allies or not. What was he getting so pissy about, anyway? It was only AIDO, she wasn't a threat or anything. The feelings of agitation were something he'd most likely mull over when he next he was alone; he'd revealed enough of his soft underbelly already.

He took a deep, soothing breath, his feathers smoothing as he exhaled softly through his nose. He frowned reproachfully at his first mate as she included him in her invitation, but he wouldn't say anything about it. She was a girl, and a kid, and he knew well the power her pout held. "Aye, 'spose it's better 'n naught." This time, he was successful in maintaining his usually neutral tone.

Aido smiled slightly at Vidya's first question and shrugged, "sorta," which was true, she'd poked her head out of the tree in order to where she was.

At her second question she blinked and tilted her head, "if you guys want to," didn't she have a map of this area of the park anyway? Opening her satchel she pawed around in it, pulling out a few curled up maps and taking a peek into each before finally looking at one and uncurling it fully.

"Aemu found these for me," she said by way of explanation, closing the satchel securely, "I still don't understand it all because some're written in different languages but this one just seems to be a bit old. I don't even know if all this stuff is still here," she peered at it before offering it to the others, "or if some of its hidden, what do you guys think?" or maybe not, she really didn't know the park well enough but the other old maps often indicated things that weren't there or, as she'd found, were still there merely hidden.

Vidya craned her neck to see her taller Captain just in time to see him frown in her general direction. Instinctively, her sidewings lowered, wondering if she'd done something wrong...but then he spoke, and though it was Neutral...it was better than nothing! She gave him a thankful smile. She liked all of her friends, and her logic dictated that if they all liked her, theres a chance that they would like eachother too! After all, they did have one thing in common, right? Thus, she was glad to hear Tybalt would at least put up with the exploring.

"Me wants to!" Her attention was immediately back on Aido, and her white eyes widened in surprise and absolute glee when she pulled out what looked like a map. With a curious 'oh' noise, she shuffled closer to the other girl and looked at the map. "Wow, so old! Lookin' at old things is fun." She smiled, referring to the old books and papers her mother had found in some of the boxes (not that the shifter even knew she HAD those old books and papers...).

Looking over the map, Vidya leaned her head to the side, and then pointed to a fair-sized, drawn spot on the map. It had a few waving lines in it, but was otherwise solid. "Tha looks like water!" She seemed happy at this finding...but the happiness was short lived. "Oh...But there's not a lotta water in tha park anymore....just a tiny tiny pond." She held her arms out to form a circle, to show how small the pond itself was. "Maybe there's hidden treasure!"

Tybalt perked up at the sight of the maps, his natural urge to explore kicking in. Maps lead to exploring, and exploring lead to adventure, and adventure, more often than not, led to treasure! Almost idly he wondered how hard it would be to relieve Aido of some of her maps...just for awhile, of course, until he had found where they led to. Maybe he would even share some of his findings with her! Though knowing him, it was probably a safer bet to say he'd hoard it and feign innocence of having stole the map in the first place if confronted.

He moved towards Aido, peering over Vidya's shorter form in order to inspect the map. It seemed familiar to him, somehow--not that exact map, of course, but he knew instinctively that he had seen something like it before. He knew the park fairly well, having invested quite a bit of time in its thorough exploration, and as he studied the map he began to recognize certain landmarks. One in particular stood out: a stand of trees, and what looked to be boulders--the large rocks were much smaller now, worn down by time and the elements.

"I know where that is," he said, pointing to it. It was towards the back of the park, which was a more heavily-wooded area. Few ventured there, preferring to stay in the playground or the grassier fields.

Aido nodded to both, taking their word on the information as she knew next to nothing about this park.

"May be," she responded to Vidya, looking at the large once lake, idly wondering what used to live there and secretly glad it was now a small pond.

Looking over to where Tybalt was pointing and tilted her head at it before looking over her shoulder to the other tales. "Where do you guys wanna go?"

Vidya looked eager...or at least try to. While it was true that she really, REALLY wanted to go on an adventure with her friends, there was also the exhaustion tugging at the edge of her subconscious. There was a huge toss up between friends and sleep, and right now, she was trying as hard as she could to lean towards the friends part. Sleep was for nighttime! ...Or so she told herself. When Aido asked where they wanted to go, Vidya looked over at the map again, looking at the large body of water, and then at the bunch of rocks that Tybalt had pointed to.

"I wanna..." She started, her voice mixed with musing and tiredness. She shook her head a bit, and stared down at the map again. "I wanna..." She tried again, but found she couldn't finish what she was saying; her mind and her mouth wouldn't let her! She appeared to attempt a third time, but before she could even vocalize her words, her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she collapsed suddenly, falling into an ungraceful pile of toddler on the grassy ground.

"Nyeh...Vidya!" Enoh suddenly called out, having looked over to check on her blue child and, by chance, saw her collapse. Within seconds Iva was back into her stroller, the half-cabbit, half shifter baby blinking with surprise, and wondering how she wound up where she was. The shifter hastened over to the fallen tale, kneeling at her side and resting her hand just under the girl's mouth. Then, with a heavy sigh, Enoh shifted onto the balls of her feet, pressing her hand against her forehead. "Whew...Just sleeping..." She reassured herself, as well as the two kids near to her.

Leaning over with a soft tsk, she picked up her sea monster and slowly stood, the tale instantly moving to rest her head against her mother's shoulder. "I'm sorry...She's been so tired lately, and I know she's been fighting it with everything she had." She started, smiling apologetically. It was a real pity they never really got to explore. Then again...maybe that was best, considering...y'know...Tybalt was present. "Guess it got too much for her. Again, I'm sorry...I'm sure you three can adventure again once she's better." She nodded a bit, fixing Vidya against her before moving back to the stroller.

After a few minutes of making sure Iva was strapped in properly (easier said than done, considering Iva liked to bounce and generally move, and Vidya was out cold, and sitting on her hip held in place by her left arm), Enoh waved to the other tales, calling out another apology as she moved away from the park as fast as she could, considering the circumstances. She had to get Vidya to bed now.

Tybalt watched his young crewmate, taking in the sleepy tone of her voice with more than a bit of wariness. What was wrong with her? Was she sick or something? Eyebrows and wings rose as she collapsed, and he peered down at her, confused. He reached out with a sharp-clawed foot to nudge at her prone body, wondering what the bloody hell had happened! One minute she was standing there, fine as can be, and the next she just...fell down!

He was sure he was going to get blamed for this, somehow.

The pirate was already forming some sort of defense--based on honesty this time, surprisingly--when the Wicked Witch of the West came and explained what was going on. "Oh...uh, tell 'er I hope she gets better then, I 'spose." It was quite a request coming from the stern pirate captain, and he watched them leave, somewhat bemused, before turning to Aido with a sigh.

"Guess I should head homewards too. Mum'll be snarky if I miss dinner again...I don' care if she gets mad, but I'd like t' eat t'night. We'll talk later," he said imperiously, a serious glint in his eye as he flapped off. Those maps piqued his curiosity...and if Aido was the only one who could sate it, then so be it.

Aido's gaze had turned wary as the girl began to sway, shaking her head several times and then, was down for the count.

"Viddy!" the Tale gasped but relaxed slightly when Enoh was suddenly there and offering up an explanation. She nodded in agreement to Tybalt's statment, "mmm, yes, tell her I hope she gets better soon as well."

Waving as the younger Tale and Guardian left she glanced at Tybalt, nodding with a light smile, "g'luck getting home in time then." If it was near dinner time that meant that it was later than she'd originally thought. Oh well, no more exploration today then.

Vaguely noting his serious tone as she carefullly packed away the map into her satchel, she waved a goodbye to the feathered Tale and headed towards in the vague direction of her home, content to walk a bit before she called for Rael.

9/20/05 - Narrative

The day had been a long one for the parroty pirate captain. He had been comandeered early in the morning to help babysit his younger siblings while Inle had been gone, called away at the crack of dawn to a shoot in Durem. Tybalt was always irritable in the morning, but to have to watch a trio of brats with only a fairy--"I'm not a fairy, I'm a Hayeta!" Conti had often screamed at him--to help him made him downright cranky. It was bad enough that he had to watch them, but to have her breathing down his neck all the time was almost more than he could bear. He did have to admit that it was funny when Medea tried to stuff the miniature Conti into her mouth, however.

He was free now, however, from rugrats and fairies alike. Inle had come home--had been home for a little while, if the fairly relaxed grin she wore upon entering the playroom had been any indication.

"Tybalt!" she said just in time to stop the pissed-off pirate from smacking the four-armed fairy right out of the air.

"What?" he snarled, his hand frozen in midair, feathers fluffed. Conti took that opportunity to dart towards Inle, landing on her shoulder. Ha, that bird-brained brat couldn't get her NOW.

"Get outta here," Inle replied, jerking her thumb towards the doorway. "I'll take care of the kids. I don't need you snapping...go take a nap or something," she suggested as Ciaran, Medea, and Calumet made identical faces of dismay. They didn't want their brightly-colored brother to leave!

"Gladly." With that, Tybalt stomped out of the playroom, up the stairs, and into the safe haven of his room, shutting the door none-too-gently behind himself. He removed his ever-present hat, moving to place it on a hook set into the wall when something on his bed sparkled in the dying light filtering through his window. Sapphire eyes narrowed in suspicion, and he moved towards the bed after putting his hat up. The object he found upon it made his eyes widen in surprise.

Tybalt reached for it slowly, as though it were a mere illusion that would dispel should he approach it too fast, and slowly ran his fingers over the polished wooden hilt. He spent a long moment marveling over the fine craftsmanship--even with as unexperienced as he was with weapons, he could tell this was a well-made piece--and watched the sunlight dance over the graceful sweep of the blade. The light made the designs inscribed upon it seem alive, and after a long moment, he picked the long dagger up.

He sighed, the day's tension leaving him as he found that the hilt fit his hand perfectly, with enough room for him to grow into it. It was surprisingly light, seeming to weigh less than it ought to. After a moment of awed staring, he slashed at the air once, twice. The blade whistled through it as if it sought to cut right through it. It brought a smile to Tybalt's face; where his Author had found such a blade he didn't know, nor did he care. All that mattered was that this masterpiece of metal and wood was his now, his first bit of live steel.

As if by some long-dormant instinct he put his thumb against the blade. He was surprised at how little pressure he had to apply before skin split and blood welled against the pristine metal. The blade was sharp--he was certain he could split hairs upon it, if he tried. He watched, his own eyes looking back at him, as a lone drop of blood rolled across the face of the blade.

"Let my blood be th' first ye taste," he muttered without thinking. A second voice seemed to be whispering with his; this one was deeper, gruffer, and as he watched his eyes in the blood-stained blade, they seemed to change. They were still his, but harder and narrowed, filled with rage, malice, hatred.

"Well," came an unknown voice from behind Tybalt, "'S nice t' see yer not gone yet."

Tybalt whirled at the sudden sound of the voice, the hand that held the knife lashing out towards its source. Who was in his room? How had they gotten there? He hadn't heard the door open or close and, being near it, he would have if someone had entered. His ever-present paranoia moved to the fore as his mind whirled with possibilities. Had this person, whoever it was, been lying in wait for him? Why would they want to do that? What did they want, anyway? Frantic thoughts in a mad rush as he completed his sweep, ending with his wings raised high, echoing his defensive posture, the knife held at his side. Eyes the color of the stormy sea narrowed before widening at the man--for it was indeed a man, of sorts--who had spoken, the one who was currently leaning against his bedroom door with arms crossed, looking somewhat unimpressed with Tybalt's display of defense.

He was a tallish man, exceeding 6 feet but only barely, and fairly lanky, though wiry muscle was evident beneath the stained, cream-colored tunic he wore. The shirt was tucked into brown half-pants which ended just below the knee, swallowed by black boots. A bone choker--that is, a choker that appeared to have been made from several small bones--sat at his throat. His face was weathered and craggy, sporting several-day-old stubble and a greying goatee. A patch covered his left eye, the remaining one the same silver as his aging facial hair. A black bandana covered his head, the long tails of it intermingling with silver hair that was tied back in a long, thick braid that draped over a shoulder. The lobe of his left ear was ragged and torn, while the right sported a shiny silver hoop. A bandolier ran crosswise over his chest, throwing knives fitted into the holes, and a sword and dagger each graced a hip. The man's clothes were dirty, as though he'd just completed a day of yard work and had yet to change into something cleaner. All in all, it was obvious he was a pirate--he looked just as a pirate should, anyway.

"'Oo th' bloody hell are you? What th' hell d'ya want? 'Ow'd y' get in here, anyway?" Tybalt snarled angrily, accent thickening in his growing rage, feathers puffing out. He might have looked and sounded threatening, were he not a giant parrot.

The man against the wall let out a bark of laughter, revealing surprisingly clean teeth, though more than a few were capped. "Who'm I? Y'know who I am, lad, and ye'd remember, too, if only ye'd remove yer head from yer arse." Tybalt's growl was met with a cheeky grin, making the older-looking man appear years younger. "As fer how I got in, well, s'not many places ghosts can't travel, I've found--goes with th' whole "bein' dead" thing. What do I want? That's a tale fer a different day, m'boy."

Ghost? Dead? This guy was a ghost? What in the hell?

...had that guy just insulted him? "Who ARE ya, maggot? 'N I'm a little too old t'be believin' in ghosts."

The man rolled his eyes, pushing himself away from his post at the door, advancing with silent steps towards Tybalt. The Tale stepped back, holding his dagger outwards as if he meant to stab the man as he reached out to him. The dagger went right through the man's stomach, and the ghostly pirate's arm went right through his chest. Tybalt gasped at the sight and sensation--it felt much like his insides and arm were being doused in cold water--before turning startled blue eyes up to the man whose one silver eye was regarding him with a mixture of exasperation and amusement.

"D'ya believe me now, fledgeling?" he crooned, abruptly stepping back and withdrawing his arm, causing Tybalt to wheeze in shock and stumble away. His knees hit the side of his bed and he sat down hard, barely registering the discomfort of sitting on his long, sweeping tailfeathers. A down-covered hand grasped at his chest where the ghost had punched into it, finding the cloth-covered area just as it was before.

Vidya couldn't WAIT to show her friends that she'd grown up! Especially Tybalt...after all, she wasn't a useless toddler anymore! There'd be NO lagging behind anymore! That, she was totally proud of. Thus, it hadn't even been a full day since she'd grown that she was already bugging Enoh to let her go out by herself. Naturally, the shifter said no at first - she was still uncomfortable with letting her 'little girl' out by herself. Eventually, Vidya's natural persistance made her Author crack...even just a little. Thus, they reached a compromise; Enoh would walk with Vidya to where ever she wanted to go, and Vidya could walk home by herself. The second part of the compromise was that Vidya had to carry a cell phone on her, to warn incase she was going to be late. Finding that to be the best offer, Vidya agreed to this, and instantly dashed off to go get a bag.

Perhaps a half hour later, Vidya was waving goodbye to her Author as she wandered up the path to Tybalt's house. Standing infront of the door, she started to get a little shy...maybe she shouldn't go right to his house? He might be busy...No! No thinking like that, you've gotta at least try! You've grown up, act like it! Shaking her head, she fixed her Haori and the sidebag that rested overtop of it, and then reached out and knocked on the door, waiting for someone to answer.

While she waited, she looked around at the front yard, her white eyes wide as she marvelled how different almost everything looked when you were taller!

It was only chance that brought someone by the door at the moment Viddy knocked. Normally everyone hung out in their respective rooms upstairs, but Inle had been on her way to the kitchen for a sandwich when she heard the knocking. She paused in the hallway, thinking about ignoring it completely. She wasn't up for company--when was she ever?--but she decided to open the door anyway. After all, it probably wasn't for her anyway, and if it just so happened to be a door-to-door salesmen, well...there were enough large animals populating the house that it would no longer present a problem. That thought firmly in mind, she padded in sock-clad feet to the door, unlocking the myriad of locks before throwing it open.

The sight before her made her eyebrows raise sharply. "Vidya?" she asked pointlessly. Of COURSE it was Vidya, only...bigger! Well, this certainly was an...unexpected sight. She didn't think she'd ever get used to the random growth spurts most Gaian children seemed to go through. It just wasn't natural...but then, most things in Gaia weren't.

"Uh, Tybalt's around back," she said after a moment, waving Vidya in. "I assume that's who you're here to see. Just keep going towards the back until you hit the windows. The door's to the right of them." Inle smirked as she eyed the newly-grown Tale; wouldn't Tybalt be surprised!

Vidya's sidewings twitched upon hearing the locks, and Vidya being...well, Vidya...couldn't help but giggle softly as the numerous clicks of numerous locks echoed from the door. What she wasn't expecting, however, was to have the door thrown open so quickly. The tale started a bit, grasping the strap of her sidebag tightly, calming down within seconds of hearing not only her voice, but upon recognizing the one who opened the door.

"Hi Inle!" She chirped pleasantly. Vidya had been taught that it was the polite thing to do to call adults by their last name until given permission to do otherwise; the only problem with this senario was that Vidya didn't know Inle's last name; so she made an exception to the rule. The tale gave the woman a bright smile, not even going to bother to ask about Tybalt at this point. "Out back? Okay, Thank you...Bye!" She smiled again, moving forward down the hallway, moving a little quicker now that it was obvious he WAS some and that he WASN'T busy.

It hadn't taken her long to find the doors, and before she knew it, she was back outside again, looking around for her Captain. "Cap'n?" She called out questioningly, her sidewings flicking a little bit. "Are you out here?"
PostPosted: Thu Oct 13, 2005 8:12 pm

On the contrary, Tybalt was busy--busy for him, anyway. He was sitting cross-legged on the deck, the light of the sun turning his plumage into feathery jewels. A broken bottle was sitting beside him, though the shards of broken glass were swept into a neat pile to the side of that. A large pad of paper, a pencil, and an eraser sat on his other side. His head, hatless for once, was bent over something in his lap. His hands fiddled with a small wooden ship, turning it over and over in his hands. Occasionally he would set it down to draw something on the paper--what he had on it so far looked like a rough sketch of a ship.

He didn't look up at Vidya's approach, so focused was he on the ship in his hands. "Whaddya want?" he called absently. He didn't recognize the voice as Vidya's. He was so used to the younger Tale's high-pitched squeak of a voice that the deeper tone just didn't register.

Naturally, his colours caught her attention before he even called out. She couldn't help it! All those lovely colours...Vidya shook her head, fighting off the urge to poke at his jewel-like feathers. As she wandered closer, she looked with pure curiousity at the various items around him; the broken bottle, the paper, the other utensils...and had she really ever seen him without his hat before? She honestly couldn't remember. Once she was a little closer, she could see the rough sketch of the ship, and that only piqued her curiousity even higher; what on EARTH was he doing?

At his absent call, her sidewings lowered again. Wow, he really was busy...or maybe...maybe he didn't recognize her voice! Momma DID say she sounded different... With a mischevious grin and settling into an almost crouching position, Vidya didn't respond to him; rather waiting for the next time he put down whatever it was he was holding; she didn't want to ruin it. Vidya was fairly patient, and so the second he put down the little ship, the blue girl took her chance...

...And pounced on him from behind. Her arms had wrapped around his shoulders without bothering his wings; and the sleeves of her haori were so long he'd only be able to see the very top of her fingertips, if he saw any skin at all. The only thing that might give her away was the small braid she had dangling from behind her ear; it, and the feather braided into end end of it, had fallen a bit over his shoulder. "Guess who!" She called out, giggling softly.

Tybalt squawked in surprise, sounding very much like the parrot he looked like, before vaulting to his feet. His progress was hindered only slightly by Vidya's weight--shock and instinct lent him strength, in this case. Surprise quickly gave way to anger, and he growled as he snapped his wings backwards, hoping to beat his unknown attacker off of him. The urge to grab the dagger strapped to his waist and counterattack was strong, but the urge to not have Inle yell at him for stabbing someone was stronger.

Instead, he grabbed at his attacker's hands, trying to at least get them from around his neck. What nerve, to think they could attack him from behind! There was so much cloth in the way that Tybalt wound up yanking at that instead...and revealed a blue forearm.

Wait a minute...blue?! "What th' bloody hell...Vidya?!"

Vidya giggled a bit at his squawk; she'd never heard him squawk before...but now he REALLY sounded like a parrot! Her giggle turned instantly into a cry of surprise as he vaulted to his feet; a sound that was mimicked a little louder once he snapped his wings back. Naturally, she held on around his shoulders a little tighter, and the fact that he had stood up now gave her knees the ability to press against his side for added clinging. Her grip didn't even falter as he tugged on the sleeves of her haori, but as he was doing so, she discovered just how soft the back of his neck was, her white eyes widening a bit in a pleasant surprise.

Hearing her name, she lifted her head a bit, giggling once more. "Yep, thats me! Hello Cap'n." She chuckled softly, sliding off his back and skipping around to his front. "Has anyone told you how soft you are?" She questioned in her usual, happy way. Taking her sidebag off, she put it on the ground at her side and did a little twirl. "Look! I grew!" By this point, that much was obvious.

"I'm sorry if I scared you, Cap'n...I couldn't resist!" She apologized after she stopped her single twirl, clasping her hands behind her back. After giving him an eyeless smile, she then took this opporunity to actually look at him. He didn't seem as tall as he had the last time she saw him (YAY for this 'growing' thing), but he was still taller than her. Not by much, though. Somehow finding content in this, she beamed happily at him again, then pointed down at the paper and the little ship. "Whattcha doin?"

Tybalt flailed as he tried to support Vidya's full weight, wings diverting from assaulting Vidya in order to correct his balance. That was easier than actually supporting the other Tale--he was built for speed, not strength, though flight had certainly helped toughen his back muscles. His clawed feet planted themselves apart, sharp talons digging into the planks of the deck. Just as he had gotten himself balanced, wings hanging at odd angles away from his back, Vidya's weight was gone, throwing him off once more. He caught himself before he stumbled and gawked at his new and improved first mate.

She was...taller! And her hair was longer, and she no longer held the hint of baby pudge...and still shades of blue and white, of course, he expected that would never change. What was she wearing? But that wasn't important, he supposed. His friend GREW! Now they could go on actual adventures, without such physical limitations such as stature and stamina to bother them! And less parental involvement, which was good because he wasn't too fond of Enoh (he could take or leave Nio). Wow, she was pretty...Tybalt shook his head, clearing it of such useless thoughts.

"I c'n see that..." Tybalt said, fighting to keep the awe and excitement from his voice. "Ye look...bigger!" Very smooth, Tybalt. "Ye didn' scare me, 'n I'm not soft," he said, feathers ruffling, though they smoothed almost immediately. He was too happy to feel affronted by anything she said. "When did this happen?"

Vidya straightened a bit as Tybalt gawked at her, finding some strange sense of pride in that simple stare. With a small giggle, the tale folded her heavily-clothed arms behind her head, toying with the tip of her orange bandana. Everything he'd thought of, from the height to her parents, was already thought about by herself...well, aside from disliking her parents. Noo, she loved her Momma and Daddy dearly!

Naturally, she faught the urge to retaliate with 'Because I AM bigger', though she breifly wondered if she'd get swatted or something for it. Better not find out the hard way, ne? She noticed his feathers ruffling, and had the hardest time fighting the urge to pet him, 'cause he was so soft. Damn him and his...angry teddy-bear-ness! "I meant Fuzzy teddy kinda soft." She murmured under her breath, through a smile. When questioned about when, she lowered her arms and looked down at her fingers, counting softly.

"Uhm...About..." She started almost absently, tapping her chin now instead of counting. "Three a.m this morning!" She finally rattled off, proud for not only remembering, but for also being able to count to make sure that was right. "I couldn't wait to show anyone...and you're the first person I thought of!" She threw her arms out to her sides, a childish habit she couldn't get rid of. "Aside from Donny...'cause, yanno, he's my brother." Thank you, Miss Obvious. Her curious gaze went back to the pad of paper for a moment. "Oh! And How've you been, Cap'n?"
