Would you rather have the person you love trapped on the island with you (like Charlie and Claire and many other characters... Picket and Colleen etc.)
or
Have the person you love safe in the outside world while you are trapped on the island alone. (like Desmond and Penny and what Charlie is currently opting to do in killing himself)

Is there a choice where I don't die? ... shot in the throat, then I'm not responsible for bringing the bad guys to the island.

'Detox' is short for 'Detoxification', and in this case, it means Detoxification of Drugs from the body. 3nodding Basically, it's kinda what Locke did with Charlie when he did the 'Three chances' deal in the first season, except that's the simple version of it. There are Detox clinics where they have Drug addicts take medications and the like to make the absence of the drug much easier. But in Charlie's case, he just had to quite the drug, so he experienced sweating, Halucinations, and the like.
sweatdrop So that is my very long explination of what Drug Detox is.
