There was an episode that I think was planned, but was never made called 'Dark Glass'
Remember in ...I think it was Other Visits, when Dinobot's left alone in the base and he's downloading something from himself into the computer? It was supposed to be like a copy of his personality tracks. Later in S3 Rattrap finds it and tries to download it into the clone to get Dinobot back. The clone has flashes of moments in which he's Dinobot and then back to being Megatron's lacky. This was supposed to be the reason that he became himself again after Rampage's death.
This was indeed the case, however Hasbro rejected the proposed script as they believed it to be too
dark for child audiences. Pity. It was later to be replaced by the shoddy
Go with the Flow.
I'd always had a problem with the Dinobot clone's return to nobel character in the lead up to his ultimate demise; it makes absolutely no sense! That is, until the details of
Dark Glass are taken into account. I mean, a clone is a
genetic copy; all aspects of the personality are derived from personal experience, of which a clone has none. It is ludicrous to assume that a genetic clone, machined or otherwise, would automatically assume the inherent aspects of the original physical doner. Dumb. But as long as the original storyline is retained, it all makes perfect sense, and sets up a wonderful depth to the relationship shared between Dinobot and Rattrap. Very touching. In regards to the topic of this thread, I would have to list Dinobot's last stand in
Code of Hero as being a pretty fine scene, given the theme of this post. Awesome stuff.

Quick question did the female bots pair off with the Autobots that arrived to save them? It looked like it...
sweatdrop Actually... I should say Autobots tried to save them but in turn it was the female bots who saved their hides lol
sweatdrop Yep, something of a history is presented between the two groups. The obvious link is Optimus Prime and Elita-1, but Inferno and Firestar appear to be a couple, Inferno and Chromia seem to have had a past together, and Powerglide and Moonracer have something going on too, it would appear (wonder what Astoria Carlton would have to say about that?). It all so very cute (
*gags*). Ha ha, I found this to be a fun little episode, if not utterly lacking in logic (why would there be
female robots on Cybertron?!). Good fun.
