Laughing after a few songs and she could dance no more, Obie made her way back to the cushion she had been occupying beside his mother. Sweeping her heavy hair back out of her face, she quickly tied it back as she caught her breath and watched everybody enjoying themselves. The smile on Ra's face filled her with warmth and happiness and she continued to watch him a moment longer before looking over to Lahleh.
"Thank you Lahleh," she smiled happily as she leaned forward, resting her arms on her legs. "For inviting me to share this with your family." There were many other things she wanted to thank her for, but decided that now was not the time for all of that.

"I think you have Persian blood." Lahleh smirked as Obie spoke to her. "Definitely Persian hips." She laughed and watched Obie as she spoke, a larger smile spreading across her full lips. "You put that smile on my son's face." She said, placing a hand on Obie's shoulder. "Anyone who can do that is welcome in our family."
Turning back to laugh at the antics in front of her she sighed and shook her head. "Tomorrow morning, we can talk, I will show you the last time I saw him smile like that."

Obie laughed at her joking comment of her heritage and returned her smile warmly. At her next words, she looked back to Ra and again felt a surge of warmth, one that only grew when she continued on. Obie glanced back at Lahleh as she withdrew her hand from her shoulder. Reaching up, Obie pulled her ponytail over her shoulder and began twirling a long lock around her finger as she returned to watching Ra. It made her a little sad to think that his mother could remember a time when he stopped smiling. Banishing those thoughts, she dropped her hair and sat back and laughed as she continued to watch the dancing.

Noticing Obie had dissapeared Ra also slipped off to flop down next to them. "I can tell when you are talking about me you know." He said smiling at Obie and then his mother.
Turning back to Obie he gave her a light nudge with his elbow. "Are you having fun?" he asked nearly falling off his cushion laughing as his grandmother stood to join the girls dancing.

Obie laughed at Ra's comment and looked down at his nudge. "I am," she replied, joining in his laughter as she watched his grandmother begin to gyrate with the rest of them. "How can you tell?" she asked him, giving him a sideways look.

"Got a feeling." He smirked, watching her. "Like when you know someone is staring at you."
Tapping his foot on its side to the music he laughed again at his family and turned back to her. "How are you doing energy wise?" He asked with a smile. "I'm just about ready to drop."

Obie returned his smirk and fought the urge to lean over and rest her head on his shoulder. "Honestly? I'm on my last leg. I could pass out at any moment," she smiled warmly at him, then turned her blue eyes back to his family. "So I suppose I ought to cart myself upstairs before that happens," she laughed and looked back at him.

The next morning Ra was woked at the crack of dawn by his cousin jumping on his bed. Together with his uncle they set out early for a morning helping out at the local mosque.
~~~
In Obie's room Darya was still fast asleep Oblivious to Parisa Kneeling with her head bowed silently in prayer. A stance repeated throughout the house.
Once done with Prayer Lahleh and Yasmin were in the kitchen making breakfast for the house and starting to prepare things for dinner. Baby Ziba gurgled happily in her moses basket on the table as she listened to the women chatter and work.
Obie stirred when she heard Parisa rise for prayer, all too used to waking early when staying in unfamiliar settings. Cracking her eyes a little she watched Risa for a while with a small smile on her lips. Obie waited until she was finished and rolled over onto her back, her eyes open wide as she stretched.
"Morning," she whispered softly to her so as not to wake Darya and slowly peeled herself up out of bed to collect her clothes and change into them. Once she was dressed, she made her way down the stairs to the kitchen to see if there was anything she could help with. Pausing in the doorway, she watched Lahleh and Yasmin for a minute before stepping inside and walking over to offer her hand to baby Ziba.
"Good morning," she said softly to make her presence known as she smiled brightly at the baby when Ziba clutched her finger in a death grip and tried to gum it to death.
"Morning." Lahleh smiled as she stirred the porridge she was making. Yasmin smiled and said a greeting gesturing towards Ziba and saying something to Lahleh. "She says you may hold her if you wish." Lahleh said placing the spoon down for a moment and adding some sugar. "Did you sleep well?"
Obie smiled warmly at Yasmin's offer and carefully lifted the baby up and into her arms. She could remember when little Yu-chan had been this small and she felt an odd pang of homesickness... something she had never felt before.
"Very well, thank you," she smiled in reply to Lahleh's query and laughed as Ziba immediately went for her hair. Quickly sweeping it out of the baby's reach she gave her her finger again to chew on and looked back up to Lahleh and her sister.
"Is there anything I could help ya'll with?" she asked, looking back down at Ziba.
"We're fine thank you dear." Lahleh smiled stirring the porridge and turning to watch Obie play with Ziba. Yasmin spoke again and Lahleh nodded. "You're a natural." She said turning back to taste what she was making.
As a second thought she turned back and smiled. "Could you lay the table up in the dining room for me? All the cutlery is in the top drawer of the dresser."
"My friend in Osaka has a near two year old. I go down often to babysit for her," she smiled as she cooed over Ziba, causing her to smile. At the request, Obie looked up and smiled brightly, glad to be of some use.
"Come on Ziba, let's go set the table," she smiled as she bounced the baby a little and went to collect the cutlery and set everything out on the table for breakfast. When she was done, she made a big fuss over being done in order to make Ziba smile and gurgle happily. Walking back into the kitchen, she ran her hand over Ziba's soft hair and looked back up at the two women.
"All done, right Zi-chan," she smiled and tickled her under her chin.
Yasmin laughed as Obie and Ziba came back into the room, crossing over to them and placing a hand on Obie's shoulder. "Thank you." She managed relieving Obie of the baby so that she could take her off to be fed.
Moment's later Parisa bounded down the stairs and into the kitchen. "Morning Obsidian, morning Auntie." She said grinning at Obie. "I didn't wake you up did I?" she asked as she finished fastening her bright hijab.
"You're very welcome," Obie smiled warmly at Yasmin as she managed to thank her and took baby Ziba out of her arms. Now sans baby, Obie wasn't quite sure what to do with herself or her hands and settled for slipping them into her pockets as she watched Lahleh until Parisa made her appearance.
"Good morning Parisa," she smiled back at the younger girl and shook her head. "No, not at all. I'm an early riser whether I want to be or not," she laughed softly, watching her fasten the hijab with interest.
