well, i've been using my maxed out staff and kititsu, they've been really helpful so far....anyways the only part im having trouble with is predicting his moves. all the characters have new moves and it makes it makes it more difficult for me to plan out stratigies.

Is this regular Doku or Spectral Doku? Well... whatever. Here's what I did...

Normal Doku
The Dragon Sword is your friend here. If you have the official strategy guide from Prima, burn it. It's strategy will do little more than have you killed. What you wanna do is stay on him; stick and wail as I like to call it. xd Anytime you see an opening for an attack, WAIL ON HIS PUNK a** (use Blade of Dragon's Tail [X, X, Y, Y, Y])! The best time's to attack are:

- When he throws the Kitetsu. The window is pretty small for this so don't be suprised if he blocks the first hit.
- After the pause and slash move. If you see him pause, stop moving, then roll to the side when he actually slashes. As soon as you can, do Blade of the Dragon's Tail.
- After the slash barrage. Get some distance, but make sure you're close to him when he does the last two hits of this attack. When you can... well... you know. wink

When you're fighting him and the minions, you actually want to concentrate on the minions; they'll help you avoid attacks. 3nodding Whenever you can, pull an Izuna Drop on a minion. The invincibility frames on that move are friggin' invaluable. Also, they'll drop some tasty Essence for you to use at your whim. smile

If you know exactly how to combat him, then you'll be baffled as to how quick he falls.

spectral Doku, which he is talking about, does not even have minions so I dont think your advice is too strong (and the mission mode has ghost fish which cant be izuna dropped).

he is right about the dragon sword though. it has the correct balance of speed and power to be effective against him. also, I use the armlet of the sun and try not to get hit. use the walls if you are fast enough. your wall based attacks will do high damage against anything. jump, run straight up the wall, jump, then attack (y). mix that up with standard attacks when you get the chance.

Spectral Doku is also pretty easy, just gotta stay on your toes. Check it.

First off, arm yourself with The Art of the Inazuma; it also helps if you have a few Devil Elixirs. They're not mandatory, but it makes life a bit easier. 3nodding

Anyway, you have a choice as to what weapons you wanna use when you combat him, those being the True Dragon Sword and the Unlabored Flawlessness (assuming you have it by then). A quick note, if you don't have any Devil Elixirs, then you're gonna have to resort to using the Flails for a brief moment of time - you know, Ghost Fish. :/

Anyway, you basically wanna follow the same strategy as when Doku was more corporeal; be careful though, as not everything will work as with the first time. like I said before, stay on your toes, and stick and wail on his punk a**. mrgreen Here's what you wanna watch out for:

- "Sheath" then Slash. He doesn't pause for this, but he does move a bit on the slow side. However, he tracks, so you wanna side roll at the latest moment possible.
- Arm Throw. This has better priority than before and can hit several times (like if you block). It's best to roll to the side when he does this.
- Sword Barrage. Doku's sword at this point has approximately doubled in length, so keeping your distance won't be as easy.
- Left Hand Grab. If Doku grabs you, JAM ON THE BUTTONS LIKE A MANIAC!!! You *do not* want him to get you close to his body while - ahem - in his possession.

As for the Ghost Fish, unleash a blast from Inazuma; it's best to startt the move when you see one of them move towards you (where there's one, there're others). There's a high chance you'll take them all out, *and* you get some easy, tasty Essence in the process.

Now... if you wanna cause damage to Spectral Doku, I highly recommend the True Dragon Sword as it has the best "firing rate"; the Unlabored Flawlessness is best used if you're low on health and *really* know what the Hell you're doing. When you see an opening, either do a Dragon Tear [X, X, X, Y], a Blade of the Dragon's Tail [X, X, Y, Y, Y], *or* a buffered Blade of the Twin Dragons [like this: X, *Y, Y, Y]; <- you wanna charge the Y after the X and it always helps to get in some extra damage. Be wary though, the first attack is the fastest aqnd safest but does the least damage. The last attack is stronger but leaves yourself open *very briefly* for counterattack. Hold the Block button as you recover from the last hit. 3nodding

Again, stay watchful and you'll be surprised how easy *this* one falls. smile

I have to say this because i have just observed it and it actually bugs me now. There is nothing "easy" about spectral Doku. There is nothing easy about Ninja Gaiden. Just because we have reached a level of mastery where these things seem easy does not make them easy. We're just good. Cut the others some slack. Just because you (and I) thought it was easy doesnt mean you should make them feel bad by saying that it was easy (and thus that they should have been able to beat it.)

sorry for the moralistic whatever. I just get that way sometimes. Thoughts? I dont want to argue about this, I am just curious.

No big deal. I must've died about 100 times on Ninja Dog. xd The strategy I gave was assuming that you already fought him before. I can try and tweak if you want. 3nodding

I'll put it like this: Doku *can be* easy if you know exactly how to combat him. 3nodding

sorry, I was being the devil's advocate. I have no trouble myself on doku or the game in general. it just seems like the strategies in the game can be oversimplified. there was no problem with yours Sage.

huh, well thats good. Keep hacking at it.

Personally, I would rather have saw Ninja Gaiden 2, then DOAX 2, and this is coming from a guy who even bought DOAX the first!
