wellll...it all started in february of 2004...i'd met a guy (holy shitaki mushrooms gimme another break rolleyes ) and when i asked what his favorite anime was he simply replied "fushigi yugi." so that very same weekend i went to our little convention center thing that's held every saturday and got the first one. i loved it...and even though reading watase-sama's books reminds me of that guy (you know what happened by my tone right?) i have every left-to-right version of her manga heart heh, except for AnC 4 and 5...i have the first edition of 4 sweatdrop

wow. hmm.. well, fushigi yuugi is when i first heard of yuu watase. my friend alisa had read the first few volumes (so i got into it around that time). it was also the first time i've ever heard of manga. sweatdrop i owe her a lot, huh? lol. well, she lent me the first couple books and i read and fell in love with them. i loved her artwork, stories, everything. then one day i saw ceres on the shelf at one of my bookstores and my eyes litterally did this: eek . lol. i noticed it was by yu watase and i picked it up. same happened with ceres and alice. then with imadoki, i was shopping for a friend's birthday gift.. i only had 20 dollars on me (that's how much i was going to spend on her)... and so i bought her one manga she wanted and then i saw imadoki by yu watase... and... i got it for her. crying then the second i got some more money i ran to the store and bought it for myself. xd yeah... there's my story. wink

Well, lets see...the first series I read by Yuu Watase was Alice 19th. i read the first vol. and it didn't seem that great until like the last page where Frey enters, then i was interested. After that I read Imadoki, that when I really started to appreciate her work. I completely fell in love with Imadoki's story and characters. Next I got the chance to read Ceres...I was very hesistant since it was labeled horror (I know, I know never judge a book by its cover blaugh )...I wasn't sure if I could like horror. But I read it and instantly loved it. Then I was hooked! Then I read any Yuu Watase story i could find! Regrettably, I still haven't read FY! crying I have read 18 chapters of Zettai Kareshi, all of Epontsu Mai!(sp?) And a few short stories. (Pajama de Ojama, Memoir Girl, Don't Touch Me!)

I've been a Yuu Watase fan for about four years, and the first anime of hers that I saw was Fushigi Yuugi. A friend of mine invited me to a Fushigi Yuugi themed sleepover when she found out I liked anime. A (somewhat) accurate synopsis of that conversation follows:
Me: Hi! Whatcha doing? Friend: Hi. I'm just listening to some anime music. Me: You like anime? Me too! What's your favorite? I like Sailor Moon. Friend: If you like Sailor Moon, you'd probably like my favorite anime, too. It's called Fushigi Yuugi. Me: Never heard of it. What's it about? Friend: *Explains the plotline*... In fact, I have a song sung by four of the main characters on this CD. Here! *Puts earphones on my head* Me: *Listens* CD: Mecha hajikete gattsu tobashite... Me: *Immediately inrigued* Okay, now I'm interested. Friend: *Invites me to the sleepover*
And so, we watched FY fansubs all night long, and I have never been the same since.

I invited a friend that loved anime and another that hated. xp We made her watch Serial Experiments Lain (not sure if the name is correct)... It's a brain washing anime, after it even I couldn't watch anything anymore. xd After this day, my anime-hater friend has a trauma. xp

It wasn't just weird. It was bizarre. Nothing makes sense. I mean, it's not bad, but it isn't worth the money. Unless you leech it. xp

I started with Ceres, last year. My first Ceres book was in German, so then I started ordering them in English. I fell in love with the series right away. (And so did my "friends" who used me as a library, and the only thing I really heard most of them say was "Can I borrow a book?")

When a new volume of FY was released, I lent it to one of my friends. Instead of giving it back to me, she always gave to the other person in the line. And my mangas go around through my friends 'till everyone read it so I can get it back.
