Anyone have any favorites on the soundtrack? If I was forced to choose I'd say "I Hear the Bells" by Mike Doughty and "I know I know I know" by Tegan and Sara. I'm having a total love affair with those two artists and those 2 songs are my favorites of theirs. I can't wait to see how they're used on the show.

I still love all the other songs. The 2 that I'm really not fond of are "On Your Porch" and "I Turn My Camera On". "I Turn My Camera On" isn't a bad song, it's just not really my kind of music although I loved it on the show but it's just not something I'd really listen to. And "On Your Porch" starts out kinda pretty but starts feeling really week and slow and just doesn't seem like anything special. I guess it's really not for me either.

I'm also interested in how they're going to use the rest of the songs that haven't been used. I think "Lost and Found" is going to be used to a breakup of some couple, not really sure who. But the lyrics would really fit one.

I think the "No Sleep Tonight" by The Faders would have to be my favorite. That or "We Used to be Friends".

I seriously love "I Hear The Bells" and "I Know I Know I Know". I was so happy when they included "I Know I Know I Know" on the soundtrack since it's one of my favorite Tegan & Sara songs. whee I also love "Ocean City Girl", "No Sleep Tonight", and "Lost & Found".

I'm not really all that fond of "I Turn My Camera On" either... confused But I like "On Your Porch". xd

"We used to be friends" by the Dandy Warhols is a good song! haha sometimes walking down the hall to class I got that song stuck in my head. I was going to download that and "No sleep tonight" by the Faders, or I could just buy the soundtrack and load it to my ipod there xp either way I get music biggrin

I mentioned this in another topic, but I think it might fit here as well (since it concerns the theme song for Veronica Mars) and apologies if it doesn't. I watched the DVD season 1 set on my days off of work last week and in the beginning of Lord of the Bling before the theme plays Wallace asked Veronica if she knew Yolanda. her response was that they used to be friends a long time ago. and the first two lines of the theme are "a long time ago, we used to be friends", I think that was a great in-joke/reference that they had put in. it's just great when people can work a reference to their own theme song in show.

Yes you did mention this in another topic, the season one thread. But it is okay, it also pertains to the theme song.

I think they did a good job picking out the theme song for VM, it actually fits, unlike some theme song for other shows. a good example would be Smallville, which has a save me theme song, and if there is one thing that Superman doesn't need is saving, that is what he is doing. Superman (It's not easy to be me) by Five For Fighting would have been a way better one, but I am getting off topic.

I love We Used to be Friends. I downloaded it off of Rhapsody and listened to it almost constantly for a long while.

By the way, I came across this blog, The Music of Veronica Mars. The person who runs it basically tries to identify as many songs as he can from each episode. It's a very handy resource if you're looking to find some of the songs from the show.

Oh I love that music section, so very handy. It's part of the mars investiagtions site, I always wonder how they are able to figure out nearly every song there and still have time to make the rest of that site as well as have like... lives.

On Your Porch was just too slow for me, I don't know. I just wasn't very impressed by it.

I love We Used To Be Friends too, although I think my favorite of the Dandy Warhols is Smoke It after hearing it when Big d**k runs away. I think they've used like 3 Dandy Warhols songs, not including the lead singer's Love Hurts cameo. No Sleep Tonight also got me trying to track down more songs from The Faders. I read somewhere that RT was required to use them by the company doing the cd and I'm really glad he was.

I really could listen to almost the whole cd over and over, with the exception of the two songs I'm not too fond of. It's such a great cd. I hope they make more soundtracks because the music on the show is so great, and it always fits perfectly with the scene. I still can't get over the juxtaposition of Aaron beating up Dylan to That's Amore. Another great music placement was The Way You Are to the end of Silence Of the Lamb. I read an interview with the band that was also very impressed by how it was placed. I really can't think of any scene where the music wasn't great, even if it wasn't a song I wouldn't usually listen to, it always fits perfectly in the scene.
