InfinitiesOfSoules Selene snorted as she moved through the forest. She was supposed to be meeting Calamity today. The plan was to go for a nice walk in the woods, maybe chat. And she was going to try to get a little more information on the skinwalker happenings and the kalona herd from him.
She moved under the trees, humming, waiting for her companion to arrive. That was when she noticed a small lump on the forest floor and her earsperked up. What was that? She moved closer, hesitantly. Quiddie! Cal spotted Selene a ways off, near a clearing. As he approached and opened his mouth to call out in greeting to the fluttercorn, her attention suddenly turned away and over in a different direction. Curious, his quickened his stride to catch up to her.
She seemed focused on something on the ground. As he sidled up beside her, his attention turned from her in the direction she was staring. "What are you looking for? Did you drop someth-"
He narrowed his gaze to a small dark bulge on the ground. "What is it?"
He sniffed the air curiously, trying to discern the the foreign object from the other smells of the woods. InfinitiesOfSoules Selene crept closer. "I think it's a basket." she whispered in wonderment. It was so tiny next to her, much less Calamity. She got closer, in time to hear a quiet thump from inside the basket. "Oh, Calamity, there is a baby in there!"
The fluttercorn fell to her knees, nuzzling the basket. "There there my baby." she soothed. "We'll get you someplace a little warmer as soon as we can. Poor thing." She looked up at Calamity, sadness in her golden eyes. "Will you help me, please?" Quiddie! Calamity's brow furrowed and he whimpered slightly as Selene suddenly fell upon the basket, claiming it as her own. "What? What are you talking about? It's not..."
He cleared his throat, regaining his stern composure. "Selene, it's not your basket. I will not help you. What if it's mother comes back and finds it missing?"
He rolled his eyes and stared disdainfully at the dark basket that lurched slightly with movement. "Don't touch it! You might catch something. You don't know where it's been." InfinitiesOfSoules Selene glared. "If his mother wanted him, he wouldn't have been left alone in the cold like this. A spot like this is almost begging for the baby to be eaten. Calamity, I can't leave him here! And it's only a baby, it can't harm us yet. I highly doubt he is a kalona, or a shark, or any other form of meat-eater." she looked accusing. Quiddie! "Granted," he conceded, "it's mother should be punished for endangering it so. But who's to say it wasn't meant to happen. If it dies out here, obviously it wasn't meant to live. We shouldn't interfere with the circle of life."
He leaned his head a little closer to the basket, and heard an odd sound like a sneeze emitted from it's depths. "See? It's already close to death. You don't want it now. If we go back and leave it here, I promise I'll get you a nice tow-leeger baby from the village for you to play 'mommy' with, okay?"
Despite his words to the contrary, the more he watched the basket, the more he curiousity urged him to allow Selene to take the basket. "Well..." he began slowly, "it might not be a bad idea to watch it...for a little while at least." InfinitiesOfSoules Selene was already shaking her head when Calamity changed his mind. "I couldn't leave a baby to die alone." she whispered. "That wouldn't be right." she looked sad. "So yes, we can take him back. I have a place- the waterfall. We can hide him up there, until he's getting closer to hatching. We don't even know if he has wings, so if we take him back down... And the waterfall is good. It is warm, with plenty of water, and grass nearby to feed him." Quiddie! "Okay...but hey! Don't just assume he'll be a wussy little vegetarian like you! He might be a kalona! The little guy's going to need lots of fresh meat to make him strong like his fath- er...like me."
He cleared his throat uncomfortably, taking the excitement and pitch out of his voice. "Okay then. It's settled. He stays with you until he's ready to leave his basket. After that...well, we'll just have to see when the time comes."
He peered down at Selene haphazardly, afraid of the look on the mare's face after his little verbal slip. InfinitiesOfSoules Selene giggled. "If he's a kalona, I'll let you teach him everything he needs to know. Until we know for sure though..." she poked her nose into the basket, only to be chased out by a growl and a pair of teeth. Her eyes widened. "He might be a kalona... in heart at least. What should we name him?" Quiddie! Calamity roared happy with laughter at the little colt's brazeness. "Well he may not be the devil, but it seems like he's already working on a deal with him..." Cal paused. "...now there's an idea!"
He leaned in towars the basket and snorted it softly. "How about it, little guy? Have you made your own little Faustian bargain? We ought to call you just that. Faust. It's a good name for you, isn't it?"
InfinitiesOfSoules There was a short laugh from Selene's direction. "I think it's an appropriate name. He may be weak, but he's a feisty little man, isn't he?" the look she have Calamity was amused. The basket wriggled, then sneezed again. Her amusement turned to worry. "Let's go get him warmed up. I can steal some blankets from my two-legger, and we can place him in a warm spot in the sun, and I can stay with him." she nodded.

InfinitiesOfSoules Selene snorted, glaring down at the offensive flower. How dare it have a bee in it?! She glared, scowling, then rubbed her face in the grass again, trying to be rid of the itching sting. OWWWWWIE! Her wings rubbed together and she snorted her outrage again. Stupid, stupid, STUPID flower! Cajmera "New dance, itchy nose, or random desire to act in an abnormal manner?" At that moment, Safi strolled into view of the mare; he'd been close enough to observe her strange antics, and that was enough to pique his curiousity. To his knowledge, Soquili just didn't act that way that often...not without reason, anyway.
"Or does today just inspire you with the urge to act random?" InfinitiesOfSoules Selene scowled and stomped both feet down on the flower. "It bit me." she explained. "I had to punish it." She inclined her head to Safi in greeting. "Other than that, I just like randomly attacking innocent little flowers. It gives me a feeling of power. How about you?" Cajmera "Ah, I see; I can understand the primal desire to put arguementative flowers in their places, particularly if said flowers are so bold as to actually bite the noses of their superiors. But it's power that I'm after, then I just stick to messing with the minds of fish. Sentient beings and all that whatnot." Keeping a rather straight face, Safi walked up to the mare and her trodden flower, looking down at it curiously; it seemed utterly unremakable, but what else could you expect from a quished and stomped upon flower.
"I imagine that you must be feeling quite powerful at the moment, at any rate, since this flower appears quite flat. Which of course begs the question...what are you planning to do with that power? Conquer a garden, perhaps?" Raising his head from his inspection, he now looked at Selene, his serious face in place but dancing light in his eyes. It had been a rather dull stretch of time lately, and this promised to be a meeting of interest! InfinitiesOfSoules Selene nodded, straight faced. "But what you don't know, is that I have just quelled an entire species of sentient flowers, hell-bent on saving their brethren from flower-eaters, just like you and me. Each flower had a bond with a highly irritating kamikaze bee, which was trained to attack your nose. If one cannot breathe, they cannot chew, and thus we would die and their species would conquer the world." She tossed her mane, continuing. "As it stands, good sir, I have killed their scout. They will henceforth know that out kind is not to be toyed with. While my action could have escalated this to war, I firmly believe it was the right decision- kill them before they can get to us." She bent her head and went for the flower next to it, cursing as another bee flew out. Cajmera Safi's mouth twitched slightly; forget something of interest, this was already at that point and past it. Finally, someone whose mind was on the same general pattern as his own! "I see, I see...so basically you're working towards the greater good of all Soquili kind...your actions are of the noblest caliber, and no doubt at the great gathering of our kind you'll be receiving the highest commendation that we have to offer." Never mind that they had no commendations. They could create one!
He watched as the bee flew out of the next flower, understanding now what it probably was that had done the actual biting. "Awfully uncivil little bees, don't you think? You should have informed it earlier that you aren't interested in having that sort of a relationship with the previous bee, and everything would have been fine!" InfinitiesOfSoules Selene nodded. "Yes. I am Supermare, She-mare of steel." she posed, sneezing. "I demand commendations and general worshipping." she sneezed again, smashing yet another flower underfoot in her outrage. "And I demand these bee-bugs go away!" She snorted, nose wrinkling. "uncivil is an awful kind word. Are you sure you aren't a closet supporter? A flower child? And how do you know what that last bee tried to do to me." she hunched a little bit, hiding behind her mane. "Voyeur, aren't you?" she accused, teasing. Cajmera "Well, I've always had a very active imagination." Grinning cheerfully, Safi nodded his head in acquiesence, neither agreeing to Selene's accusation nor disputing it. "And I'm not a closet anything, thank you very much; bees have always had my respect for their strong work ethic, nothing more. Particularly if they're switching from kindly honey providers to flower assassins!"
Tossing back his mane, he gave Selene a wide grin, then bowed slightly. "But it's nice to make your acquaintence, Supermare; I'm called Safi, personally." InfinitiesOfSoules Strong work ethic? "They are assassins!" Selene protested. "Death by sneezing! They pollinate the flowers and leave them, then come back to impregnate their young the next year. That doesn't seem like work to me." she wrinkled her nose. "And I am called Selene. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Safi." Cajmera "I think that assassins is a rather strong term; it's certainly true that they're guilty of careless behavior, but I think that that would count more as reckless endangerment than any actual murder. Give them a little bit of credit, they're useful enough." Looking down at the flowers, Safi chuckled and nudged at one with a hoof, watching the buzzing bees at their job. They always struck him as entertaining; after all, what wasn't to love about creatures who communicated through dance?
"So your name is Selene now? I guess that's slightly simpler than Supermare, but not nearly as catchy." Glancing up from the bees, he gave Selene a good once-over, looking at her for the first time in a serious fashion. Well, serious for him, at least... "Though I suppose that when the owner of said name looks like you, catchy names aren't really necessary, hrm?" InfinitiesOfSoules Selene made a face. "Endangerment my hoof." but his next comment made her laugh. "Selene has always been my name. Supermare is my alter-ego, though now that you know, I have to kill you." she preened. "Though, it goes as a credit to your memory you think I am attractive. You aren't so bad yourself." She closed one eye slowly, smiling. Cajmera "I'm not sure if I can let you do that, Selene, as I'm astinishingly partial to living; it's the best method of having a life I've ever experienced, so I'm sure that you'll understand when I say I want to continue with it." Tossing back his mane, Safi gave Selene a teasing grin, making a big show of striking a dramatic pose. "I'll take your secret identity to the grave, though. Just because...I'm nice like that."
Nodding his head, the white stallion pawed at the ground a little bit, glancing down at the collection of squished flowers and chuckling in amusement. Poor little things, squahsed in the name of vengeance...such was the life of a simple flower, apparently. "And I've always been exceptionally proud of my ability to identify sexiness in all creatures, so it's really no hardship or feat worthy of complimenting that I was able to identify you as such...nor is it such that you were able to identify that in me. I've always been a sexy beast, after all, and it's only right you indentified me as such!" InfinitiesOfSoules Selene grinned. "Alright, as long as you don't tell anyone. How can one save the world if the enemy knows who to look out for?" she herself posed, flapping her wings in an attempt to make her hair billow out dramatically. Squashed! Mutilated! Down with flowers! "And I do thank you for having the common sense to acknowledge that we, as a pair, could make a superhero team." In case the stallion was confused by this, she continued. "Our beauty would dazzle the eyes of our enemies, and strike love into their hearts." Cajmera "Have you ever considered a clever disguise, like a pair of eyeglasses? It's a known fact that eyeglasses can completely mask the identity of superheros...just take the glasses off and no one will connect you to your alter-ego." Chuckling, Safi stood enjoying Selene's artificial breeze; that was another perk of having wings, instant wind.
At the comment about the two of them being a superhero duo, though, the stallion found himself almost bursting into laughter. "We could be Team Double S; fear us! Or love us...or both!" InfinitiesOfSoules Selene giggled. "I don't know... perhaps I could put feathers on my wings and pretend to be a wind Soquili." her eyebrows waggled. "That would be even more clever. Or, I could have my tail braided. It is always the small details." Team Double S? She laughed again, shaking her head. "I would fear to love us. Our loved ones would be attacked by killer flowers and their bees." Cajmera "Maybe, but I have to say that in my experience, glasses or a simple mask are the best options. Blind them with the simple logic of it all, you know?" Smiling, Safi finally stepped back off of the crushed flowers, flipping his wings open and idly inspecting the feathers. "If you're trying to pass as a wind, maybe I should laminate mine and pass off as a flutter. Or get some horns and try being a Kalona. Rawr!"
Yeah, that was a believeable idea; he'd soooo make a good fierce one! InfinitiesOfSoules Selene laughed again, lowering her head and shuddering with hiccuping laughter. "I think you'd make a fearsome Kalona." she agreed. "But you are a bit too large to be one of my kindred. They'd wonder how you could carry yourself." Cajmera "True, true; flutters are usually a bit smaller than I am, and my bulging muscles and general impression of solidarity could very well kill that guise. Or maybe people would just think I drank a lot of milk." Grinning at Selene's response to the suggestion of he being a Kalona, Safi decided to take this line of thought and run with it; consequently, he struck a macho-pose and strutted a bit. "Yeah, we're definitly going with the Kalona." InfinitiesOfSoules Selene smiled. "Now, I'd hardly say we flutters cannot be solidly built." she protested. Of course, the only male of her kind she had met was still a foal... "And I don't know... You might be too cute to be a kalona." a light wink, and she grinned. "With that cyute widdle macho-pose." Cajmera "Hey, it's possible for kalonas to be cute; believe me, I've seen some that are downright cuddly!" Straight face intact, Safi swept up out of his pose and stalked about the small area with a majestic expression. "Kalona is the best way to go...and sorry, but using yourself as an example of solidity is just not going to work, Sely; you look like you could be blow away by a good gust of wind!" As he spoke, Safi made a great show of looking about for some such gust of wind, then grinned teasingly at the mare. "Maybe I should tie you to a tree, just in case?" InfinitiesOfSoules She gasped, mock-offended. "Let the wind blow!" she posed for a brief moment, chest outthrust. "I will just ride it until it's tired, and then continue on my merry way!" Tie her to a tree?! She looked horrified for a moment. "Who needs that?! Then I'd be at the mercy of the kalona, poor innocent, defenseless me!" Though, really, she hadn't met -any- kalona who exactly bothered her. Don't mess with them, they don't mess with you. They might be vicious, but they didn't seek it, that she'd seen... and they were almost achingly rational. Cajmera "Well, if you'd rather be tossed about like a bag of leaves, then that's your decision; but don't say that I never gave you any options otherwise!" Flicking at a stray lock of mane with his ear, Safi gave Selene a chuckle; she certainly was a good sport! "So, Selene, aside of trampling the flowers and denying common-sensical aid offers, what is it that brings you out and about on this lovely day? I ask, of course, because alternate Mondays are MY day to be out and about, so the presence of another is certainly a wrench in my plans!" InfinitiesOfSoules She grinned. "Just out getting stung by bees. I usually do that on Tuesdays, however I won't be able to make it due to prior arrangements." She laughed softly, shaking her mane. "And I didn't know we had a schedule!" her face was open, surprised. "Should I make a notice next time?" Cajmera "Well, it suddenly makes sense to me exactly why it is that you're being out and about on my day, then; if you can't even stick to your own schedule with regard to being stung it's hardly surprising you don't respect my own schedule." His expression almost completely flat, Safi managed to rattle off what amounted to an overly complicated statement of gibberish; however, ever since he was a foal he'd been fluent in gibberish, so the undertaking was relatively simple for him. Now, whether or not others were actually able to UNDERSTAND him was another matter...but why should he worry about that?
"Schedules are extremely important, my dear Selene; and I'm frankly shocked that you didn't realize this! Must be the flutter in you, as I see it." Grinning, he poked at her fluttery wings with his substantial feathery ones, curious as to whether or not she'd take the bait. Nothing like a good breed debate, after all! InfinitiesOfSoules She snorted. "Sure, featherbrain." there was a small laugh. "Just because we're flighty, and you're weighted down with your ego..." she reached out, tugging lightly at a feather she thought looked a bit loose in his wing. "And how am I supposed to respect your schedule if I have never met you to learn it? Are wind soquili psychic as well as overgrown?" Cajmera "And now you're being horribly biased." Completely ignoring the fact that his own earlier breakdown on the races (to say nothing of his flutter comment), Safi managed to give Selene a look of profound disapproval...for about five seconds. Then he cracked up once again. "And here you were trying to be all noble and mighty; well, you just ruined it by giving into my game, Sely; and had I had a devious plot, that might well have been it!"
Flipping his wings open in a rather dramatic fashion as he spoke, Safi proceded to make a great show of examining them, then flapped them enough to lightly lift off the ground. "At any rate, your sources are misleading; I have no issues of being overweighted, not by ego or anything else. And if I were overgrown, then I'd think I wouldn't be able to get off the ground, would you?" Granted, it was possible for him to be wrong; very possible, as he was a rather disorganized individual in terms of...well, speech and behavior. But once he found someone who understood his thought process, well! InfinitiesOfSoules She laughed. Nosed at him lightly. "You're a good guy." she said simply. "Overgrown and ego-puffed though you are." she winked at the stallion. "But unfortunately, I have to fit in the rest of my chores into today. I've gotten the bee-stinging done. Now I have to go antagonize the skunks in the next field over as my teepee mate is sleeping there, and fit in a nap by the waterfall, as well as my nap by the river. Naps are very important things..." Cajmera Returning the gestured, Safi gave Selene a sweeping bow of farewell. "Such backhanded compliments are still something, coming from a sterotyping filly like you; but indeed, it's been a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Selene; maybe we'll find that our schedules are compatible once again someday."
With that last statement and a wink, Safi turned to go. "Have a pleasant nap, and don't get caught by your teepeemate!"

InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya snorted, nuzzling through the flowers. Pink, Yellow, White, even as she ate them she felt like a cannibal or something. They were her colors, darnit. Twisting her head, she grabbed a mouthful of blue flowers, just because. The day was beautifully bright, and Tehya whuffled as she meandered through the grass, finally folding her legs under her and settling under the branches of a large tree, enjoying the shade. Closing her pink eyes, she began to let herself drift off. Cajmera "Hrm..." Wings folded back against his body, the deep blue stallion wandered through the field, the brightly colored flowers standing out in stark contrast against his darker coat as he walked past. Bright sunlight glinted off his coat, causing it to shimmer and sparkle even more than usual in the afternoon sun.
He took no notice of his own shining appearance, however; casting his head about for a little bit, he finally headed over to a patch of white clovers, then lowered his head and began to eat. InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya whuffled as she heard the light clip-clop of steps nearby. She opened one eye and watched the other Soquili for a moment before rolling back up, lifting her head and whickering a greeting. "Hello." she called. She'd been feeling rather lonely, so the sight of the other soquili was welcome. She lifted herself to her feet, slowly shaking herself off. "My name is Tehya. You are?" Cajmera Surprised, Zaphiro raised his head and looked towards the speaker; he hadn't expected to encounter anyone out here, and certainly hadn't seen anyone...or maybe it was just that the mare blended in with the landscape better than he did. Of course, everything blended in with the landscape better than he did, so that was unsurprising.
But surprising or not, there were such things as manners. So Zaph raised his head, swallowed his mouthful of clover, and flashed the mare a smile. "Hello yourself, Tehya; forgive my rudeness in not greeting you right away, but I guess I wasn't really looking to see if anyone else was around." Still smiling, he stepped back with one foot and gave her a slight bow, fanning back his wings to accent the gesture. "I'm Zaphiro, and I'm sorry if I intruded on anything." Not that he could see much to intrude on...but she could have been sleeping or something. InfinitiesOfSoules The mare eyed the vibrant stallion appraisingly. He seemed polite enough, truly. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Zaphiro. You weren't intruding on anything, I was only enjoying the shade when I heard your approach. My apologies if I interrupted you. I was feeling a bit lonely, so your arrival was a welcome one." She tossed her head. She bowed back, mane falling over her frone leg as she bowed over it. "And what were you doing on this fine day, Mister Zaphiro?" Cajmera As he straightened up, Zaphiro folded back his wings once mroe, the dark feathers becoming one with his dark coat. "It's good to know that I wasn't interuptting anything; from past experience, I really shouldn't be surprised to literally trip over others who might not necessarily want to be disturbed." As he spoke, he smiled ruefully as he remembered how he'd met one Soquili by running into him. That had been...interesting, all right, and something he didn't necessarily wish to repeat.
"As for me, I'm not really doing anything productive; just doing a little grazing around." Inclining his head towards the clover around his feet, he specifically singled out the area he'd already eaten from. "A little midday meal, as it were. Truly, the clovers in this area are quite tasty. Are you a fan of clovers, Tehya?" InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya smiled at the blue and gold stallion, admiring the vibrant colors. "I don't do much that matters even if it was interrupted. Besides, I like company anyhow, so it's an honor to have you here." She smiled, tossing her head. As the stallion moved, Tehya stepped to the side to make sure she wasn't in his way. "Clover?" she asked, and thought on it. "I tend to prefer sweet flowers, like the honeysuckle blossoms, however clover does have it's charm. I don't usually graze in this area however." Cajmera "Well, I try not to pass judgement ont he activites of others; some might think that lying around is very important and resent it if they were interupted." Zaphiro's mouth widened into a truer smile as he spoke, a slight twinkle appearing in his eyes as he began to warm up to conversation. As a naturally dazzling looker, he was used to being stared at and fawned over...so having a real conversation was something of a rare treat. "Though I don't know if 'honor' is really a good word...it makes it sound like I'm a visiting royal or something."
Noting Tehya's footwork, he stepped to the side himself, inclining his head courteously at her. "Mares first, or I wouldn't be a true stallion. Perhaps in a similar vein is why I prefer flowers of a less sweet bent." Chuckling, he leaned over and plucked a clover, offering it to Tehya. "Though you might like these. They're not as mild as most." InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya made a face. "The only way I'd get touchy about laying around is if I am sleeping. And when I sleep, it takes half the drums in the kawani village to wake me before I am ready." the mare let out a small whinny of laughter. "And it is an honor- I was bored. Though, I can't rightly say you are royalty. You do have a lovely coat though." she complimented. She smiled when the stallion held out the clover, accepting it graciously. "My thanks." she said, taking the clover carefully. Cajmera "See, now that I know that, I'll know what to do if I come across you lying around some other time." Laughing, Zaphiro tossed his head, giving Tehya an amused look. "Though if you're sleeping, I suppose that I'll leave you alone, as I don't have access to any drums, let alone all of them."
Flipping his wings in an idle fashion, he glanced around the meadow, then down at himself at Tehya's comment. Granted, it wasn't that he didn't know what he looked like, nor was he unused to being complimented. It was just that somehow, he always found his attention drawn to whatever was under discussion. "Thank you, Tehya; your coat is quite lovely as well. Very colorful." InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya smiled, flushing. "Good. I like company, unless they bear drums. But it seems I have nothing to fear." Her brow went up flirtatiously, and she flushed again at the compliment. "And thank you for the compliment." she preened a little bit, in a teasing manner.

InfinitiesOfSoules Ohanzee moved down the beach, mane flying in the sea breeze. It was sunset, and the sky was vibrant shades of pinks and oranges and violets. In a matter of minutes it would be night, and he would be vanished into the sky. He nosed his odd necklace, then glanced back up at the sky. It was wonderful. Quiet. Peaceful. Ice_Dragon_Demon Lovebeam stared out at the sunset vibrant orange stripes crossed her white hide her pink and blue striped mane flew in the wind giving a mystical look about the mare. Night was fast approaching, she loved to look up at the stars and see them for all their brilliance. And the beautiful moon. She could already see the moon rising as the sun set. The ocean beat against the sandy beach rythmicly a pod of dolphins leapt our of the water in play before after a while they just vanished into the never ending horizon.
Lovebeam continued to watch as the sun finally set she gave a smile as the bright sunset colors faded and the stars came out. It was nice to be out of the forest for once she had taken Spectre's advice and left the forest for a night to see the sky elsewere. It was rare for another soquili to be giving her adivce when she was so commonly giving it out herself. Although perhaps it must have been fate.
Lovebeam turned her gracefull neck toward someone she senced coming she could just make out a stallion in the distance... but his colors... he was like the stars in the sky with a brilliant blue mane, it seemed as though the sky itself had fallen to meet her.
"Hello" she called in a calm mystic voice "I greet you stallion of the night sky" InfinitiesOfSoules Ohanzee glanced up at the calm voice that greeted him. "Hello." he greeted politely. His voice was low, almost hoarse from disuse. He was silent, preferring not to speak. What was the point, really? He was silent, eyeing the mare. She was lovely, colors of the sunset dancing on her coat. "I am Ohanzee." Ice_Dragon_Demon She gave a smile. Lovebeam noticed he preffered the silcence "An honnor Ohanzee." she said calmly, he was truely a stallion of the night and the moon. The bright sunset mare looked out back at the sun that was now hidden and had sunk below the horizon. The sky darkened as the sun went down, stars appeared as though from no were. The mare stood quietly allowing the stallion his silence.

devilnightshade Shade stood beside a small river drinking from the crystal clear water, it was ice cold and hit her gutt like a swift kick but it tasted good and curbed her thirst. The Kalona raised her head eyes scanning the horizon for dangers, though she didn't know if many would mess with her this day.
She gave a snorting laugh and tossed her head sending spparks of flame reaching out for life only to fizzle and die in the attempt. Twitching her tail she turned the light dusitng of sparkles on her body making her shine beautifuly. InfinitiesOfSoules Ohanzee was out for a walk. His day had been dull, and he was waiting for the sun to go down. The stallion sparkled in the sunlight, his body reflecting the rays. He noted a figure as he got closer to the river and pawed nervously at the ground.
His thirst overrode his wariness, and he moved closer to the water. He nodded politely to the mare, dipping his muzzle into the cold water. devilnightshade She stared at him for a moment admiring his sparkling coat "good day," it was all Shade said to him she wasn't going to be the one to initate a conversation with this sparkling blue stallion. Her tail wound itself around a hind leg before unwinding and twitching back and forth. InfinitiesOfSoules Ohanzee's ears flicked, and he glanced up at the mare. His pupil-less eyes looked the kalona over cautiously, and he inclined his head again. "Good day madam." His tail flicked, and he noted the common coloring. Welll... okay, they weren't that alike, but she was close enough for him to find it amusing. His lips quirked, but not in a cruel way. devilnightshade She laughed at his smile, she too had noticed their similarity, "I'm NightShade, and you?" She tilted her head slightly her mane crimped flopping against her long sleek neck while the braids rested softly against the other side. InfinitiesOfSoules "My name is Ohanzee." the stallion's voice was quiet, deep, and almost rusty from disuse. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Nightshade." devilnightshade "It's a pleasure Ohanzee," her own voice was bright and clear like a bell in the freezing cold but it was made odd by the german accent it held. She almost seemed like she'd rather it be quiet but maybe that was a wrong feeling. InfinitiesOfSoules The stallion's muzzle dipped back into the water, allowing a peaceable silence to fall. A foot stomped, his moon anklet ringing musically in the cool air. He was curious about this mare, certainly, but he was not flirtatious. Indeed, he also wasn't much of a conversationalist at all. devilnightshade She kinda relished in the silence and lowered her own muzzel once more to the chilly water sipping it slowly. Her tail slowly swung back and forth, she was happy with the easy silence she could from with this stallion it was relaxing in a way. InfinitiesOfSoules After a while, the stallion nodded to the mare again. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Miss Nightshade." he started away, tail flicking. After all... If they were fated to meet again, they would, would they not? devilnightshade She raised her head twitching her ears "good evening Ohanzee," she watched him leave knowing that one day she'd like to meet him once more, he soothed the hate she felt so deep withh is soft quiet ways.
The mare turned and moved away into the shadows of the woods herself moving farther away form him and the river.

Nisshou Hakuyaiba Lunathiel rests by the river just outside Tawali Village. It seemed colder then usual today, maybe that just came from her exhaustion though. She sighed and rested her head on her forelegs. She was bored. Almost all excitement seemed to have drained from her life in the past few weeks. She grumbled and flopped onto her side.
She needed something to do. Some game to play or an adventure. A foal to chase or birds to scare off sending feathers to the ground. She missed the day she had spent with Randee hunting for Leah. There was an idea. She stood up and looked around. "Bandit!!!" she called with no response. "Where'd he go?" She shrugged then stretched out a bit before trotting around to find her familliar. InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya lay lazily under a tree, relaxing. Her eyes landed on a small raccoon with what looked to be violet eyes wandering. "Hello." she called to the small creature, and nosed out a flower from the small pile she had ripped up earlier. "Would you like to join me?" Nisshou Hakuyaiba Bandit's ear twitched as he heard an unfamilliar voice. He turned his scruffy head to face a cinnimon brown mare with brilliant gold and pink markings. He laughed and took the flower placing it behind his ear. "First time ever got invited! Sure!" He said scampering over to climb up on the horses back. "Lovely weather huh?" InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya smiled at the cutie. "It is lovely." she agreed. "I was out enjoying the sun. What are you up to? Out causing trouble, or just enjoying the sun?" she laughed as the raccoon placed the flower behind his ear. Nisshou Hakuyaiba "The first one!" He said cheerfully leaning back against the mares head. He grinned inwardly knowing the chaos he must have been causing his friend. "She'll be her in three...two...one..." The small racoon waved a paw and almost on cue his oceanic colored friend appeared."BANDIT!!!!" Luna called loud enough to shake the trees. She was starting to panic. Finding things had never been her forte. In fact, they either had to find her or she would be doomed. "BAN-dit?" She called for the seventith time voice dropping, ecoming hoarse as she layed eyes on her familliar waving cheerfully. "There you are..." She crossed over not even noticing the other mare he was laying on, until she stepped on the brown females leg that was. InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya screamed, body arching, flinging her entire body into the air. If bandit didn't grab a firm hold, he would be launched directly into the face of the attacking mare. Nisshou Hakuyaiba Bandit did not have a firm hold, not in the least. The next thing Lunathiel saw was her fluffy familliar catapulting through the air. "Bandit!!!!" She cried taking chase. In a few seconds she reared back and caught the tan familliar. After checking that he was no more then shakin up she turned to face the brown mare cautiously. The female seemed insane, springing up like that. It was only a little accident. "I'm sorry..."She said keeping her distance. "I didn't mean to scare you..." InfinitiesOfSoules "Y-You- leg!" Tehya gasped. She had a very low pain tolerance. "Ow. Familiar okay?" Nisshou Hakuyaiba Lunathiel nodded slowly eying the mare absolutely baffled. She was making absolutely no sense. 'What about my leg?' she thought lifting it slightly to take a better look. It seemed perfectly normal to her; blue with speckled spirals. No blood flecks or bones showing...conclusion...the girl was being insane. "Ummm...yeah...so we're all good..." She muttered inching away. "So...I guess I'll just leave you to your..." she coughed a few times trying to disguise herself as she spat out 'insanity'. InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya snorted, and held up her leg- one displaying a Luna-hoof-shaped print on it. "What is wrong with you, are you BLIND?!" she yelped, glaring accusingly. She licked at the tiny bit of blood on her leg, grumbling. Nisshou Hakuyaiba Lunathiel took a few quick steps backward eyes wide. The other female was insane, well at least parshly. Luna could see the blood on her leg, it was just a trace amount though, the other horse was clearly over reacting. "I...I'm sorry..." He gaze traveled over the hoof print on her patterend leg, it was definatly Luna's. "I didn't mean to..."Bandit watched the girls with intrest and mild fear. "Come now ladies...we've appologized. Let's just try to get along now hmm?" InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya snorted and nosed lightly at Bandit. "Alright, but only because you're so cute." she grumbled and stood, trying not to wince. For all that it was a little blood, it sure hurt. She'd never been stepped on... or otherwise injured... by an outside force to her, and so it was surprising. She smiled faintly at Luna. "I'm Tehya." she introduced herself lightly. Her eyes were cold, and her teeth were bared, but she was TRYING to be polite. Tehya would make sure if she ever wanted to relax again, all four legs were firmly under her body. Nisshou Hakuyaiba Bandit sat up proudly thrusting his chest out. "See, Miss Tehya thinks I'm cute..." He said ruffling his fur a bit. He smiled down at the brown mare from his perch then flinched at the half death look she was giving his friend.Lunathiel took a few more steps backwards away from the rather vengeful looking mare. Based on the actual introduction She could tell the other female was trying to be nice but it seemed as though she held grudges. "I...I really am sorry though...I was just scared for Bandit..." That was a bit of a lie. She never really worried about the racoon just if he was getting into trouble...or stealing her food. InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya shook her head with a small snort, correcting the baring of teeth. "Sorry, I'm a bit... on edge. My apologies for my rudeness. May I ask your name?" Nisshou Hakuyaiba "Ah...I uh...guess it's fine..." She gave a slight smile to the mare but it wound up looking more like half a smirk. "My name is uh..." She paused for a bit. She wasn't entirely sure if she'd be able to trust her not to seek revenge for the leg injury. "It's uh....Mushla?" She flinched slightly hoping that the cinnomin mare hadn't picked up on her unease. After all, the name clearly wasn't her's, she had taken it from her human's name."But that's not..." Bandit started but shut up at the look on Luna's face. "Gotcha." He winked and gave her a thumbs up signaling his readiness to help with her lie. InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya smiled, relaxing a bit. "As I said before, I think...." she pondered for a bit before continuing. "I am Tehya. I do apologize for my rudeness. I was just... very startled. I've never been stepped on before, not that it's any excuse." Heck, not even that Kalona mare had stepped on her when she was a filly. Her ears had gone back a bit at the smirk on the mare's face, but they moved back up when she caught that the mare was lying. So, she'd terrified her. Should she be pleased by that, or.... upset? Somehow, she was leaning a bit towards pleased. Which disturbed her. Nisshou Hakuyaiba "Tehya then...It's no problem really!" She grinned happily feeling that her tale had gone through well. The girl had not questioned the name at all so she must have bought it. "I didn't mean to step on you...so uh...let's call it a truce?" She wasn't sure why she'd suggested a truce, but it didn't matter, a war or a battle didn't really suit her either way. InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya's eyes were bright with amusement. "So, 'Mushla', I suppose it'll be a truce." She hadn't known they had been in a war, though a minor altercation might have passed. Nisshou Hakuyaiba "Good so...a new start then...ummm..." She was at a loss for words. What else was to be said? She had kicked the girl, appologized, given a fake name, and then suggested a truce. Anything else said would definatly be awkward, so she turned to the raccoon. "Hey Bandit...why don't you head off?"Bandit just tilted his head still on his perch. "What??" He whimpered. "But...why?" InfinitiesOfSoules The mare gasped. "Oh please don't!" she begged. "I was so enjoying his company too!" She swished her tail, hoping. Nisshou Hakuyaiba "Please Miss Lunathiel, let me stay!" Bandit's amythest eyes sparkled with hope as he scooted closer to the brown mare. He wanted to stay and play too. The 'Let's be someone else' game was always fun!Lunathiel looked from her familliar to the other mare. This didn't suit her well, the raccoon might give something away. Then again, he did manage to change the subject. That would be good enough, for now. "Fine..." She said letting out an exasperated sigh, "But I sware Bandit, you get to annoying and I'll chase you away personally!" InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya giggled. "Lunathiel?" her eyes were teasing. "I thought your name was Mushla." she was relaxed now, and her teasing wasn't malicious in the least. Nisshou Hakuyaiba Lunathiel's eyes widened, she was, as the saying went, 'busted'. "Well done Bandit..."She muttered close to glaring at the now hiding raccoon. "Uhhh...well...I..."She sighed and looked to the ground beaten. "I don't know what to say..." She mummered wishing that she may have gotten to know the mare beter before it all fell out of the bottle. InfinitiesOfSoules She laughed outright now, snorting and rolling with delight. "You're so funny Lunathiel." she decided. She watched the blue mare, eyes bright with amusement. "I might like you after all. <3" Nisshou Hakuyaiba Lunathiel flattens her ears, she wasn't trying to be funny. She was being completely serious, why was this mare treating it like a joke? At first she wasn't even remotly sure how to react and then she spoke again. "Like me? So...you're really not mad?" She asked a little nervous. InfinitiesOfSoules "It hurt." Tehya snorted. "You need to watch where you step. But after that, the entire situation became simply... amusing." Nisshou Hakuyaiba "I will...I...guess..." She smiled faintly. Normally the ocean colored mare did watch her self, she just...didn't see Tehya. "Did you...have to say...amusing? I was seriously scared of you..." She looked around a strange expression on her face. Why wasn't Bandit snickering as he normally did? The she found him, snoozing behind Tehya's leg. "Looks like...you've got a parasite..." Luna mumbled gesturing to her familliar. InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya laughed softly. "My apologies, Lunathiel." when the other mare made the comment about a parasite, she blinked. Her face softened, and she nosed the raccoon in closer to her body. "It's alright." she smiled. "He's adorable. How did you find him?" she gestured to the ground, encouraging the other mare to take a seat. Nisshou Hakuyaiba "He kinda found me..." She muttered rolling her eyes remembering the event. Deciding that the story would take a while she acceted the mares offer for a seat. "You see...I was out walking one day and then I heard someone shouting. I turned about to see who it was but there was no one in sight. I started to walk away and then I heard it calling again asking for help. I looked up and there was Bandit all tied up in a tree." She laughed a little then looked over to the little theif sitting by Tehya's leg. "How'd you get up there anyway.Laughing nervously the little raccoon turned to look at Tehya. "You certinally don't want to hear this boring old story, do you Miss?" His face looked rather flushed as he really didn't want her to finish the story. It was so embarressing and would ruin his whole image. InfinitiesOfSoules The mare eyed the little raccoon suspiciously. "Actually... I think I do." what kind of story would have the familiar squirming like that? Hehe... she was very curious now. Nisshou Hakuyaiba Lunathiel giggled and smiled a bit evily at the little raccoon. "See...everyone wants to hear! Well, anyway, he begged me to get him down and told me just to cut the rope. Well I did and then he started unwinding like a yo-yo!!!" She let out another burst of laughter at the familliars mortified face. "Once he was about a foot from the ground the rope snapped and he fell into a pool of mud!""Miss Luna please stop..." Bandit said burrying his face in tiny paws. What she said was true but she made it sound so much worse with her laughing. Right now he wanted to go find a nice hole to curl up in. "The rest of the story is best told by me...Miss Luna picked me out of the mud and carried me off by the scruff of the neck to a river where she tossed me in to get the mud off..." He sighed, even telling the short version was humilliating. "After that I just followed her home..." InfinitiesOfSoules "Awwww, poor Bandit." Tehya nuzzled him with mock sympathy. "Used and abused." she winked at Luna, nuzzling the cutie in sympathy. "How did ytou get stuck in the rope in the first place?" she settled down, comfortably, trying not to laugh at the raccon, face buried in the tiniest paws... Nisshou Hakuyaiba "I don't want to talk about it..."He wailed shaking his head as though it would make it all go away. He hadn't even told Miss Luna why he had been up there but there was good reason for it. His sibblings were not the nicest creatures and they all hated how different he was.Lunathiel stopped her giggling to give Tehya a shrug. It seemed no matter how much she pried the little raccoon never spoke so she didn't bother. "So...what about you?" She asked finally changing the subject a bit to late. "Do you have a little friend?" InfinitiesOfSoules Tehya nodded. "Weeeellll, not yet. But if I do, I hope she's a cutie like you." she nodded firmly. She didn't press for a reason why, but instead glanced at the sky. Pink eyes widened. "Oh no!" She moved carefully, so as not to disrupt the little raccoon too much. "Sorry Lunathiel, Bandit, I have to go now." she looked agitated. "My human and I were going to take care of some stuff around the teepee, and I am late!"

Duo/Heero part 2/?
TWizTed_SoUl Heero jerked his head around, staring at Duo with a startled look. He still liked him? For some reason that pleased him. The Stallion was truthful, he didn't understand beating around the bush. If you had something to say, then say it.
"Ah..." InfinitiesOfSoules "Ah...?" Duo blinked at him. "You look like you heard something you weren't expecting." He flicked his tail, moving past Heero to take a bite of some flowers. TWizTed_SoUl "I wasn't." He murmured.
Blue eyes watched the winged Soquili. Heero felt a bit confused. He did like this creature, felt as if he'd known him somewhere. Yet he was annoying. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo looked as confused as Heero felt. What was the other stallion talking about? TWizTed_SoUl Putting the conversation behind him, Heero surveyed the field. Flat, open, filled with grass and flowers... the atypical field. There were no other Soquili's, no other animals. None but for the hawk that soared far above their heads. It was peaceful but lonely.
He shifted towards Duo, reassuring animal instincts that he wasn't alone. Heero didn't need the winged Stallion, he was just fine on his own, he argued with himself. That niggling need to have somebody with him persisted. A soft growl filled the air, emanating from the brown-maned Soquili. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo's wide, startled eyes turned to the other stallion, instinct making him pull back at the growl. "H-Heero?" TWizTed_SoUl Blue eyes stared at the other. "It was just me." He closed his eyes, sighing softly. So confused, as if something inside was pulling him in two directions. Irritating, annoying, it was giving him a headache. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo nodded slowly. He settled himself down, laying out on the grass. "Why were you growling?" he asked curiously. "I didn't do something wrong again, did I?" He was settling down a bit now, when he saw the stallion was more inclined to tune him out than flee. TWizTed_SoUl "No." Heero glanced around. The cold Soquili followed Duo's example. Legs were tucked under his body, but he didn't lay on his side. The headache was still there, throbbing around his eyes. He said nothing, preferring to deal with it on his own. It made no sense to complain to others about a trivial matter. InfinitiesOfSoules "Then what was wrong?" Something was telling him now was the time to shut up and reel in this stallion. Duo figured he'd sunk the hook in far enough that the stallion might open up a bit. He shifted, watching the other stallion with large eyes. TWizTed_SoUl He normally wouldn't complain, but he figured it was more of a statement then a complaint. A imparting of knowledge that would let the winged stallion know that he better be careful. "I have a headache." Heero turned his head away from the sun. The bright light was making his pain worse. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo moved closer to the stallion, extending one wing to block the sun. "Here." he said, offering a spot in the shade. "It is no strain to keep this up, and the shade would be a bit more complete than just ducking your head." He'd changed the tone of his voice. Now instead of the usual warm, higher pitch, his voice was low, cool, and smokey smooth. No need to drill into his new companion's brain. His body was warm, and he shifted again, offering to let the stallion rest his head on his belly. For him, the comfort would be welcome. TWizTed_SoUl Heero's eyes opened, studying Duo's face. This was a change. He'd expected a long-winded talk about headaches, not a offer of help. The other's voice made him want to blush, if a horse could.
Slowly, almost tentatively, he laid his head on the winged Soquili's belly. It was nice, this contact, and the shade helped alot. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo smiled faintly, relaxing his own head. His breath was soft and even, and he soaked up the sun, giving a soft snort when a bug would crawl onto his nose. His wing lowered a bit, providing a cooler shade, and he shifted just enough to keep them both comfortable. Companionable silence ensued. Even Duo could wear himself out. TWizTed_SoUl It was so comforting that Heero found himself drifting off. Even with the headache. Duo smelled good, that spicy scent soothing to his senses. When Duo was quiet he was easier to be around. He liked this little moment.
The dark-maned stallion woke not hours later. There was something soft across his face, and dark. A sniff revealed it to be the purple and gold edged wings of his new companion. He didn't move, loathe to disturb the other. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo knew when the other stallion fell asleep, and fought to stay awake, alert. The growl earlier, even if Heero had made it, had made him nervous. If something did happen, he needed to be awake, to protect and wake his companion. Duo could fly from the danger, but Heero could not. So he was awake then Heero came awake. "Hello." he greeted him softly, lifting his wing a bit more. "Do you feel better?" TWizTed_SoUl He raised his head. "Yes..." The Stallion shifted. "Thank you..."
"You didn't sleep." Heero stated. For the first time he nosed the other in the shoulder. "Sleep." InfinitiesOfSoules A soft smile from violet eyes, mouth remaining still. "It was my pleasure." He laughed when the other stallion nosed him. "I'm fine." he commented. "I got to be lazy in the sun." he nosed him back lightly, whuffling. His eyes were a little tired, but he'd rather spend his time with the stallion awake. Unless... "Unless you'd like to talk me to sleep." he smiled again, lightly. TWizTed_SoUl The soft smile had his heart fluttering. The stallion was affected whether Duo knew it or not. "Talk you to sleep?" He asked, a bit bewildered. How would he talk somebody to sleep? What would he talk about? InfinitiesOfSoules "Yes." Duo said simply. He tentatively lowered his head to the other stallion's side as he had offered his own. "Tell me... about your day. About the first thing you remember when you were found here. Or just talk to me about the things you see." Duo shrugged. "I like your voice. It's relaxing." TWizTed_SoUl His mind tried to dig up anything he could say. Heero said nothing of Duo resting his head on his side. It was only fair, wasn't it?
"Anoo ne..." The darker Soquili glanced around before settling on his two-legged companion. He told Duo of her, in short sentences and long pauses.
They had no teepee, slept under the stars. Her fluteplaying was mediocre but calming. She was getting better as she practiced. Long white hair, silver-blue eyes, tanned skin. A hunter, her skill with dagger and bow was admirable. Her voice was soothing to his ears, like a soft rain. InfinitiesOfSoules Heero's voice was relaxing. Duo let out a yawn, listening to the other stallion speak. "She might like my two legger. Mine hunts too." he murmured sleepily. The stallion smelled good. Spicy, sweet, like sweat and sunlight. And warm. He drifted off, timing his own breaths to Heero's own, falling asleep finally with a final, sleepy snort. TWizTed_SoUl "Maybe."
Heero went quiet after the other fell asleep. Blue eyes kept a look out, watching the hawk flying above them.
The two Soquili lay in a perfect circle once the Stallion laid his head on Duo's haunches. Everything was peaceful. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo came to with a little alarmed snort. There was- Ah. Heero. He stretched a little bit, to let the sother stallion know he was awake. "Hi." he said, sleep-thick voice regaining it's normal pitch as he spoke. "Thank you for staying with me while I napped." On some level, he hadn't expected the blue-eyed stallion to stay. TWizTed_SoUl The Stallion raised his head, only nodding. The sun was sinking now. The blue canvas was darkening as the sky turned brilliant shades of red, orange, yellow and purple. It would be true dark in a hour. They should probably leave. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo pulled to his feet, giving a small wicker. He could smell the other stallion in his mane and coat where they'd touched. It was a welcome scent, a comforting one. "So, Hee-chan, would you like to come by my teepee?" the question was cautious. I have several other Soquili there, you might get along with them." he nodded. TWizTed_SoUl H followed Duo, standing up with a little lurch. "Your keeper... won't she be annoyed?" InfinitiesOfSoules Duo blinked at him. "I can't see why she would be." he said finally. "She doesn't get annoyed by much, and she loves handsome Soquili. As long as you let her pat you at least once, I think she'll be fine." TWizTed_SoUl The Stallion blinked. "Handsome?" He wasn't handsome. There were other Soquili who were byfar more good looking then he was. The Stallion that his Misae kept seeing was one. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo looked the stallion over, frank. "Yes. Very handsome." he shrugged. "Ruggedly so, with lovely eyes." He smiled. "So, will you come with me?"

Duo/Heero 3/?
TWizTed_SoUl It was a good thing horses couldn't blush. His face probably would have been red. "Hn... hai." InfinitiesOfSoules Duo smiled. "Well then, come on." he murmured, reaching out to nose at Heero. "It's almost dark." He turned and led the way, bouncing along. TWizTed_SoUl He trotted along behind Duo, watching that braid. It was so tempting to pull on it. Fortunately he was able to catch himself before he did. InfinitiesOfSoules The arrival at Duo's teepee was articulated by three others nosing at Heero curiously, carefully. "Hello." each greeted the newcomer, even the redheaded warrior woman, who patted him once before leaving him be peacefully. There was Tehya, the vibrant pink, chocolate, and gold mare, who was peacefully tempered, with a penchant for ignoring everyone to hone in on a delicious-looking flower. There was Selene, a strange looking blue mare, with the markings of the moon and stars on her body. She was vivacious, determined, and polite. Ohanzee was a silent stallion, who nodded to Heero, didn't speak. Duo liked to pick on him, nosing and chattering. He was colored much like Selene, but they were unrelated. It was an odd coincidence, one that amused them both greatly. TWizTed_SoUl Heero grunted his way through the introductions, sticking close to Duo. The two-legger was given a soft whicker, but the Soquili were regarded carefully. Tehya was a easy sort to be around, he decided, Selene and Ohanzee were... he was still waiting on a decision of them.
"Hn..." InfinitiesOfSoules Duo grinned. "That 'hn' means he... likes you." he decided. "He seems to make it an awful lot." TWizTed_SoUl Heero gave a low growl. "It does not mean I like you." The brown-maned stallion nosed Duo a bit harder then before, right in his side. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo blinked at the stallion for a moment before flushing. Did the stallion know how what he'd said came out? Ohanzee wondered, looking as Duo's violet eyes dimmed a bit. Poor Duo, he really liked this new friend. Selene visibly flinched at it. Wow, harsh. She sidled a little closer to Tehya, hoping to stay out of range of this new fellow. Even if Duo did annoy her a lot, the stallion's words were almost... cruel. "Sorry." Duo joked jovially. "Almost forgot I talk too much for you to like me." He danced a few steps away from the other stallion, ears a bit laid back, looking embarassed. TWizTed_SoUl He snorted. Blue eyes watched Duo with curiousity. "When you aren't hyper, you are pleasant to be around." Heero stated.
What was with the Soquili? The blue one was trying to hide inside the other mare. And the star-marked one looked like he was chewing on something. InfinitiesOfSoules "He's hyper a lot." Selene muttered. Duo bared his teeth at her. The mare shrugged one shoulder gracefully. "It's true." "Too much talking." Ohanzee said shortly, moving a little away from the teepee. Duo still looked hurt, but he gave Heero a brief smile. TWizTed_SoUl For some reason, Heero sidled over and nudged Duo with his nose. "I will have to let you meet my two-legger now." InfinitiesOfSoules Duo smiled. "That would be nice." he said softly. "I think she sounds pleasant." TWizTed_SoUl He fidgeted, feeling a bit uncomfortable. "Hrn..." Ears flicked back and forth. His tail was flicked over his hindquarters, a sure sign of his agitation.
"I... sorry." He mumbled. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo's head tilted. "Why would you be sorry?" he was genuinely confused. "You didn't say anything you thought was a lie, so there is nothing to be sorry about." TWizTed_SoUl "I hurt you. That was not my intention." Heero watched his companion from behind his shaggy bangs. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo's eyes lit. His smile was happy, his tail wagged. "It's alright Heero. You didn't need to apologize." he said softly. But there was no denying how much the apology had meant when you looked at him. TWizTed_SoUl The smile was gone as quick as it had appeared. Heero glanced around at the other Soquili. He really didn't care that he'd made a bad first impression. It wasn't as if he wanted to get close to them. The only one he really cared about was Duo.
Wait... when had he started caring? InfinitiesOfSoules Duo watched Heero with limpid violet eyes. "You look nice when you smile." he mumbled. TWizTed_SoUl Tan fur turned a lovely shade of red. He looked away, not wanting Duo to see it. Great Spirits, how had he ended up in this situation? InfinitiesOfSoules Duo coughed softly. "Sorry, that might have been a bit disconcerting." he admitted. "I'm not usually that forward." TWizTed_SoUl "It's fine." He murmured. "What were we going to do here?" InfinitiesOfSoules Duo shrugged a shoulder. "Whatever you wanted. I brought you to meet my family." TWizTed_SoUl He looked around again. "I will take you to see mine." The Stallion nodded and trotted away. Heero paused a few feet away, waiting for Duo. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo nodded to his family and trotted after the other stallion, dancing a few steps ahead of him. It was dark now, and Duo was silent. The only noise was the clop of his hooves on the dirt, and soft snorts as he would fly past Heero, twirling and dancing in the moonlight, following and leading at the same time. TWizTed_SoUl Cobalt eyes watched him in the darkness. He was getting used to Duo's eccentricity, he mused. Else why did he not pay attention to his playing? It wasn't a matter of not caring, it was a gradual acknowledgement that the Stallion was that way.
His two-legger didn't have a tent, but she frequented a empty meadow not too far away from Duo's teepee. In the dark he could see her, the silver hair reflected the moonlight. She was curled up, asleep in the grass. A brightly spotted form lay next to her, a equine head draped on the humans hip.
There was a Stallion by the forest-edged. Striped with black and staring up into the tree. Where had these Soquili come from? InfinitiesOfSoules Duo snorted, nosing at Heero's neck. "Where is your two-legger?" he asked, curious. His voice was low, but piercing in the silence. he noticed the silver head and shied back behind Heero a bit, suddenly shy. What if the human didn't like him? TWizTed_SoUl "We don't have a teepee." Heero approached cautiously. Who were these newcomers?
Misae was still asleep, cuddled into the warmth of the filly by her side. The foal didn't wake when Heero sniffed at her, nor when he nudged the human.
Two strong arms wrapped around his face in a awkward hug. There were words, soft and welcoming. She'd missed him. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo watched quietly. This was very different from the fuss and bustle that was his teepee. He watched the other soquili quietly, finally noting the other stallion and nickering a low greeting, so as not to disturb the sleeping foal. He stepped up next to Heero, nosing at him gently for an introduction to the two-legger. TWizTed_SoUl The Stallion nosed him back. "This is Misae."
The silver-haired Warrior rolled to her feet, stretching. The filly snorted and blinked at them, before curling back up. A hand was stretched out to Duo, offering, but not touching. InfinitiesOfSoules Duo's nose extended and he whuffed across her palm, nosing her hand gently. He snorted a quick greeting then backed away, suddenly shy again. He was pressed to Heero's side, seeking the quiet comfort of another soquili.

RP FOR REEFIE! heart
Quiddie! Stupid, rude mare...I don't know why everybody's complementing you. You still look like the same Nalani to me. stare Reefie: You ought to be nicer to mares, child. You'll be a stallion soon enough... 3nodding xd
Lovely Wolf Guardian Nalani: *swats the colt with her tail* Talk about rude, how dare you call me stupid? Hmph, if I was your mother I'd teach you a thing or two about being kind to mares. You should listen to your stallion friend. *looks at the stallion* Thanks for your help. *smiles* I don't think we've met. My name is Nalani. Yours?
Quiddie! *grins and bows his head slightly* My name is Rainbow Reef. Apologies for Faust. He's late for his nap, I think. Anyway, not much can be expected when his surrogate father is a Kalona. *shrugs*
I remember seeing you play with Faust when you were younger, but it's a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, Nalani. I'm somewhat of a friend to your 'mother', Jeevita.
Lovely Wolf Guardian *chuckles* Well hello Rainbow Reef, it's a pleasure meeting you. Is it ok if I call you Reef? *smiles* You're one of my mother's friends? She never mentioned you, I guess she just forgot. *smiles innocently*
*looks over to the colt* His father's a Kalona? Heh, no wonder he's such a rude little brat. *rolls her eyes*
Quiddie! I said somewhat of a friend, Nalani. Perhaps "acquaintance" would be a more appropriate description. She's nice to me, and I don't know that many soquili yet. *sighs*
Well, Faust's parentage is a slightly tricky relationship. But I know his surrogate parents, and they're more-or-less good soquili. Sometimes it's hard to say that about Calamity though, to be honest. But then again, he's not tried to kill Faust, so I'm guessing that's a good sign.
*spots Jeevita* Speak of the devil! Hello again, Miss J! *looks at Rahu condescendingly after hearing about the mares* My father says he loves only himself, and that no proper mare is worthy of him. I'm going to be like that my whole life.
[ Lady Kiya ] Jeevita: *Nuzzles back* I see you've met Reef. How do you do, Reef? *Smiling back at Nalani*
Lovely Wolf Guardian Nalani: *smiles* Yes, he was telling me a bit about that annoying colt over there. *glares at Faust and turns to face Jeevita* Mother, do I look old? Well I guess I can't say anything about that, since I've never met his parent's before. I just hope he changes as he gets older. It'll be a shame if he grows into a handsome stallion and no mare will even look at him because of his personality.
Quiddie! *snarls and shouts towards the two mares* YES! *breaking into childish laughter* I'm doing well, Jeevita. And how're you? mrgreen
.Tortured. .Pumpkin. Hok'ee: *can't help but chuckle at Faust* Interesting...
[ Lady Kiya ] Jeevita: *Gives a giggle* Nalani, you look beautiful, not old.
Lovely Wolf Guardian Nalani: *glares at Faust once more* He sure is quite annoying...and his laughter is even worse. *smiles innocently at Jeevita* Thank you, mother.
[ Lady Kiya ] Jeevita: You know, your just bosting his ego by letting him get to you. *chuckles*
Quiddie! *smirks and nods* She's right...you ARE! *laughs some more* *snorts with laughter at Faust, but quickly bites his lips nad looks away, regaining his composure in case either Jeevita or Nalani look at him*
Lovely Wolf Guardian Nalani: *sighs* He's lucky I'm older now or else I would've poked him hard with my horn. *glances at Reef and frowns* Don't tell me you find it funny.
[ Lady Kiya ] Jeevita: Isn't he just so adorable. *Smiles at Faust*
Quiddie! *smiles widely and puffs up his chest, nodding* What? Me...laughing? No. Never. *is still trying not to chuckle* eek rofl
Lovely Wolf Guardian Nalani: *frowns even more* I see.... *turns and walks off into the forest towards the beach*
Campien Tally:*slowly walks on the side of the beach her hooves tralling threw the water, the water splashing on her*
[ Lady Kiya ] Jeevita: *Watches Nalani and looks at Reef* You better appologize, or she may stay mad at you. 3nodding
Quiddie! *doesn't apologize or say anything, but follows her quietly* *to Jeevita* Was it something I said? eek
[ Lady Kiya ] Jeevita: It was the actions behind the lie you said. Lies can only cause another one pain * Jeevita smiles and turns and trots to a near by tree*
Lovely Wolf Guardian Nalani: *smiles shyly at the stranger* I'm ok...I guess. Just unhappy about some things. That's all...
Quiddie! *slowly approaches and speaks quietly, without the michevious tinge to his voice* You look like a grown-up, but you still kinda act like a filly. *twitches his nose blythely* *hangs back to allow faust his moment first* What...this place smells a bit like home...
*wanders over to the water and licks it, lighting up happily* OCEAN! JUST LIKE HOME!
Lovely Wolf Guardian Nalani: *looks back at Faust* What's wrong about acting like a filly?
Campien Tally:..*smiles sweetly* yes I do don't I.hm*giggles* and Hello, what are your names*swishes her tail*..you look like a cute and nice Foal
Quiddie! *looks at Tally and swishes his tail, nodding* I'm Faust!
*looking back at Nalani and getting a little more serious* Well, you're not supposed to, are you? you're an adult now. you can have foals of your own! You shouldn't act like one. *tilts his head curiously at her* *dives in, swimming and splashing about like being in water was natural (which it since, since he's based off a seal)
Sweet delicious ocean of LIFE! I've MISSED YOU! 8D
Campien Tally:..cooties haha..*laughs* it reminds me of someone*gets up and shakes the sand off* hm..*slowly steps into the water and walksa round in it for a while*..not bad..*is scare of the water*.....hm*leaps out and shakes it off fast*
Quiddie! *pops his head above water and looks watches Tally* Where are you GOING? The water's GREAT! 8D
*splashes and swims around some more*
Campien Tally:..ehehe sweatdrop ..*paws at the water slowly*..it looks safe..*paws at it more and gets the flash back*..oh uh..*falls back on her rump looking at reef in the water*..hm..
Quiddie! What? Stop poking it like the water's going to bite you! COME ON! *swims towards her with a floating log to help her swim* Will this help?
Campien Tally:..um..*pokes the log with a hoof*..but its not stable...*stands there*..hm are you sure
Quiddie! You don't have to use it, but it'll help if you can't swim. *smirks* You CAN swim, can't you?
Campien Tally:..ya i can swim,I just had something bad happen to me to do with water so i am...scared of it now..*sighs*..hm*blinks and sees Chemi*....if Chemi is here that means..OwO....no...he can't be..can he..OwO..i don't know

Paramekia and Selene 2/3
InfinitiesOfSoules Selene watched him snap the ivy curiously. What was the point? The randomness of it confused her a bit but she remained silent, ears swiveling a bit to catch all the tiny noises. The thought of solitude was relaxing to her, and she smiled faintly. A reason, for knowing his name? "I'm curious?" she hazarded. "It is considered polite in outside Soquili society to share your name, as a means of faux trust. Not many consider names as having power over you anymore. The two-leggers seem to, in some instances, however." she tilted her head, thinking. Paramekia Darkheart "Perhaps, but to possess another's name is also the key to destroying it." Paramekia replied sagely, flicking his tail and swivelling round briefly to 'stab' his hair ornament against his hindquarters, it obviously had something to do with an itch but could have been painful if he had of chosen to move any quicker than that.
"For example, if I encountered strangers Lady Selene, and they did not know you and nor did I like you...but I knew your name and how you looked -" He took a breath and canted his head to the side, drawing nearer so that he shrouded the ivy vine from view. "Then it is perfectly within my power to speak of your name and describe you." He released a chuckle as he came inches within her muzzle and allowed a soft 'huff' of warm air to escape.
Gazing at her pointily he waited for his words to sink in before continuing, "Now, descriptions can be forgotten but names, they are always stored at the back of the mind and if you introduced yourself and I have belittled you then they would already have foul expectations...would they not?" A dark smile crossed his features and once again the odd glint appeared in his eyes as he lifted his head slightly, in comparison to him she was petite and thus she made his intentions much easier.
"And besides...is it not more fun to guess?" He whispered softly into her ear. InfinitiesOfSoules Selene's ear flicked as he breathed on it, laying back a little. "I am not certain I have much of a reputation, my lord. I prefer to keep more to myself, and let others approach." She gave a soft shrug. "How others view me does not matter unless I have chosen to allow myself to grow close to them. I keep my friends close to my heart, and am not afraid of consequences. If I live the way I feel is right, why should I fear being hated? I will be pleased with myself, and it will be the loss of those who look down on me for that." "And really..." she smiled at the stallion, acid-sweet. "I hate guessing games." Paramekia Darkheart "Such a shame," Releasing a chuckle as she attempted to distance herself once more he didn't allow her the opportunity and instead stepped forward once more so that his shoulder brushed lightly against hers, "Perhaps if you spoke in riddles it would keep him occupied for a few hours, enough to give you some peace." As smooth and sultry as ever, it truly was as if his voice was one of cold calculation as opposed to one that expressed any positive emotion but it still held that rich quality to it.
"Of course, an inability to enjoy a simple game or to entertain a stranger points out that one is incapable of being a social butterfly, which may cause problems in large gatherings." He mused, deliberating projecting his own thoughts as he nudged her ear briefly, his eyes flickering slightly as the soft quality of the slender limbs - they were much longer than most he had seen, really quite interesting.
"Alas, you also do not need a reputation to ruin a name, nor can you always guarantee that your friends shall be there for you." He added as an after thought before at last drawing away, flicking his tail up briefly to brush slightly against her nose.
"Tell me, do you always possess this attitude around stallions? It really is quite endearing, I must say." He finished, his voice surprisingly lacking in any form of emotion bar the slight rise throughout to denote a question - was he teasing? InfinitiesOfSoules Selene's eyes were bland. "Actually, no. I am usually nice to them." she said flippantly. The way that the strange stallion kept brushing against her was starting to make her uncomfortable, hence her distance. Guessing games and immediate contact were not really things she welcomed. really, names did mean a lot to her personally. They were a sign of trust, and companionship, and somehow, she doubted these were things this stallion was after. "I do ask you to reveal at least part of your game, sir." she asked finally. "It grows tiresome, listening to you speak as if you know so much, yet you drop nothing of substance." she stood, stretching out small limbs. An unfortunate side effect to being such a small mare was that this stallion was so much larger than herself, and if he did happen to have a hidden violent streak in him... She was tense now, allowing her body language to express her displeasure. Paramekia Darkheart And there it was, at last she revealed to himwhat he had suspected all long. Deep down she was not made of iron and steel but was in fact a vulnerable creature hidden behind a series of mental and emotional barriers. It hadn't take him very much effort but now that she was considerably more uncomfortable he would use this to his advantage and set a few things in motion.
First, he would give her what she desired. He would give her what all mares and stallions seemed to desire in this realm because they saw it as a symbol of trust; he would give her his name. Now that he was dominant within this social occasion and within a place that the mare was unfamiliar with, he had almost complete control - just as he had wanted.
"I have no games, fair one." He began at last, moving away from the flower patch he had been hiding from view to reveal exactly what the vine had been for. Within the flower patch now lay a large boquet of exotic flowers and berries fastened together by tiny paws.
"None that you would appear to humour me with, but I do hope you enjoy your gift." He added, distancing himself further as he came to rest near the pool and examined his reflection briefly, admiring the fine contours of his face and his rather well chiselled physique.
"As for who I am, I leave that up to the eyes of the beholder but you may call me, Paramekia." InfinitiesOfSoules Oh, how pretty. Selene admired it for a moment before dismissing the bouquet. "It is truly lovely, Paramekia. But the greater gift was that of your name." she inclined her head before settling herself back down on the rock, body still tense. She still had the distinct feeling this... Parasite? Paramecia? Para-Para...mite? Aww, hell... Anyway, that this Para-fellow was still playing with her. Paramekia, that was it. She arched her neck, nosing at the flowers, the only hints that it wasn't only the flowers she was watching being an occasional flick of her mane, as if it were falling into her face. Paramekia Darkheart "Mmhm..." He seemed to be gazing down at something within the water as though remotely hurt by her quick dismissal of his gift. In fact, he seemed to be so disappointed that he was now at a loss for words and instead he released a small sigh, a 'huff' escaping from his nostrils as he tilted his head to the side in an attempt to readjust his disturbingly long locks of silver hair.
"It is nice to know I satisfied your curiosity to the extent that now you have lost the ability to converse." He mused after a few moments, clucking his tongue which sounded somewhat hollow due to the angle his head was at but eventually he did straighten it once more and give a slight stretch.
Up until his point he had led the conversation, had coaxed her into talking and into allowing herself into such a vulnerable position but now she had gotten what she wanted she had lost all her sass, the one thing that he seemed to be rather intrigued by and that was the true disappointment, apparently she had no personality.
Still, remaining quiet he calmly approached the boquet and delicately picked it up in his teeth, taking a few moments to bolster his hind legs before lifting himself onto them, the boquet outstretched until tiny paws darted from the tree branches and swooped the gift into them...it was a rather efficient way to dispose of them and at least this way she was forced to dwell on the manner in which she had rejected him.
What if he didn't take rejection well? InfinitiesOfSoules Selene's lips twitched. The stallion was amusing. "Oh yes, struck dumb." she said blithely, watching the flowers disappear. Shame. "So, tell me, Paramekia, what was the purpose of this excursion? I can't see you as being the type to get lonely, or just longing for company. In fact, you strike me as the type who is more annoyed by other life, keeping them around to fulfil your base needs, or amuse you. Am I now to be your new court jester?" Her head tilted. "Or perhaps you are seeking something else from me. Advice would fall on deaf ears- you are assured of yourself. I have no secrets you can use for any personal gain, I have already said I am reclusive. So, good sir, I have nothing that would be of any interest to one such as you that I could give." Paramekia Darkheart "Not it appears you ask a great many questions, do you see now why I do not provide a name for the moment I do, the floodgates are opened." He shook his head almost disapprovingly, the rings upon the ornaments within his hair releasing musical chimes with each motion, only to be echoed and repeated by the light breeze as it moved passed his head.
"In answer to your questions, I would advise you not to make so many assumptions as one who wishes to manipulate, twist and destroy you will feed upon one of your options and use it to their advantage." He shook his head one more, releasing a deep throated chuckle and then a sigh as though he was truly amused, had she fallen in to one of his traps again like she had done so when she obeyed his order to follow?
"Secondly, making so many assumptions may insult an individual. For example - " He approached her once more, neck arched as he pressed his muzzle close to her ear once more, apparently determined to invade her personal space in order to make a point, "I could make the assumption that you were naive and easy - ripe and yet untouched fruit. Would you be flattered by that?" He enquired, a brow raised as he withdrew one more and flicked his tail briefly at his side.
"I sincerely doubt you would be and as for the jester." He deliberately turned round to gaze at her in a rather inappropriate manner, "You are not small enough." InfinitiesOfSoules Selene acknowledged his words with a light bow. "You would have gotten the questions either way." she said with a faint smile. "And as for your assumption on me being a fruit- I am not for the plucking." Her voice was firm. "So don't even think about it, much less assume. And as for my size? I'm perfect." her eyes were golden ice chips. Paramekia Darkheart "Perfect? I am afraid I would not go so far as to confirm that you are perfect, Lady Selene." The stallion replied calmly as he gazed over her physique once more, shaking his head ever so slightly as though she had one very slight flaw that he simply couldn't overlook, "Extravagant most certainly but that does not make you perfect, I assure you." He continued, flicking his tail against his hind quarters once more as he approached the pool of water and lowered his head to take a few sips of the cool liquid.
His eyes closed in the process and for the briefest of instances he simply appeared as a handsome and somewhat tall stallion as opposed to a cold and almost callous creature as his 'emotionless' eyes often revealed. It appeared that having been in her company, regardless of the fondness he may have had for the location, the warmth in his eyes had been lost after on of her assumptions.
"And let me add that I have no intentions to sample you, in fact I would assume that few males would be inclined to do so." He released a chuckle as he opened his eyes, lifting his head once more although this time he was looking into the canopy above him.
"The manner in which you belittle anyone who tries will automatically turn any stallion away from you, even the ones you are interested in with be certain you will reject them." He pointed out once more before shaking his head, his expression somewhat thoughtful.
"Would you prefer it if I located your companion so that you had more desirable company than one such as myself?" InfinitiesOfSoules Selene raised an eyebrow. "Let me hasten to assure you that it was my size I was referring to in regards to my perfection. I have no trouble reaching the ground, I am not so tall that I have to hunch to graze. I am not so short that I must stare up into the eyes of my companions." Her own eyes were ice-cold and she turned, trotting back towards the branch he had lifted for her. "And as for the other stallions, perhaps you should try judging your own actions before mine. I do have several friends, though I can see how it would be hard for you to make and keep some with the games you play. I told you before I did not find them appealing, or fun. Any conclusions that were jumped to, and I admit, some were, were jumped to out of exasperation, and I would apologize if I felt you deserved one." She did not acknowledge his comment about her teepee-mate, slipping through th trees almost silently, back out towards the forest edge. Paramekia Darkheart "I will take that as a 'yes' then." Releasing a chuckle Paramekia expertly slipped through a lighter branch and glanced towards the young mare thoughtfully before shaking his head, she had very nearly gained his approval and then had rather unceremoniously fallen at the last hurdle - a little like when she had dove for cover upon hearing the familiar and unwanted voice.
"And my dear girl, you evidently have quite a few issues with your physique if you are so determined to answer for it. Had you not cared, then you would have not been affected by the comments." He clucked his tongue as a sage-like wisdom came into his eyes, slipping passed her at a reasonable distance as he arched his neck and took note of the sounds of the creatures within his immediate vicinity.
"I will warn you now, we all play games and admittedly I play some of the more infuriating ones because it divides the worthy and the unworthy in one fell swoop." He clucked his tongue and shook his head gently, a soft chime of the rings within his hair evident as he continued on silently through the forest and away from his little sanctuary, when he was a few yards away from the mare he glanced round once more and offered what appeared to be a bemused smile.
"An apology is a good way to have the last word but never ruin an apology with an excuse..." He finished, his last words intent on pointing out that her inability to apologise for her actions had led to his response. With that though, he continued on his way, this time heading in the direction he ad originally intended to go... InfinitiesOfSoules Sele ignored Paramekia firmly, not even a clenched jaw at his response. Pruning people by driving them to the point of madness? By being blatantly rude? Well well, so that was how the pretty ones worked. She shook her head. Ridiculous. It only reinforced her dislike of the forest even more. Stupid stallions. She was starting to understand why her Daddy hated everyone. Paramekia Darkheart Well, the encounter had started off as reasonably pleasant but apparently the stallion's expectations for the female had been too high. She was more inclined to those who were submissive and perfectly happy to bow to her whims, to treat her like a queen and to indulge her...he could only assume this was due to her upbringing and not necessarily due to a birthrite of any sort.
Such a shame really, she seemed like she had such potential.
Nevertheless, arching his neck in an attempt to give it a light stretch the stallion continued to navigate his way through the forest with sufficient ease, well aware of where each snag lay by now that he could dodge them fluidly and thus, could move at sufficient speed regardless of what he wore.
Another few minutes and a few hundred more steps and he would soon find himself on a clearing - it was a pity she hadn't followed him, she could have escaped the forest by now if she had possessed any ounce of intelligence.
...Apparently not.

Paramekia and Selene 3/3 (September 9, 2006 - September 13, 2006)
Well, he had escaped the forests and instead of heading towards the Kawani Village where quite a few had gathered and where the pungent stench of death and destruction lay he had chosen to move northwards and towards the beaches instead. Passing across the clearing and pausing every now and then to brush a few burrs off his clothes before proceeding forward.
It was nightfall and much to his approval it was considerably quieter and much more comfortable than any other time of day for him. This was not necessarily because he disliked the sun, but more due to his love for the shadows and the skills in which he possessed to use and manipulate them his advantage when the time called.
Nevertheless, the lack of company was not something that bothered him and as he walked across the beach, his hooves falling on the soft sand with a delicate 'clump', he turned his gaze upwards towards the stars and the constellations which had been a fascination of his father's, according to his father they told great stories and predicted the future but as of yet this stallion hadn't solved the puzzle.
"Hm." Stealing a warm and content smile the stallion soon allowed himself to drop to the ground a short distance away from the highest point in the tide and turned his gaze up towards the stars once more - well this was nice...
Selene snorted, trudging out of the water, mane and tail dragging behind her. It was night, her favorite time of day. She loved the stars, watching them spin was a constant source of pleasure. As she pulled out of water, she noted a familiar-ish lump. Another Soquili. She trotted over, whickering a greeting. The soquili had a slightly strange form, looking vaguely familiar, but she greeted them pleasantly. "Hello. I didn't know anyone else ever came out here this late in the evening."
The spirits hated him.
His body tensed very briefly as he lowered his gaze from the skies above and turned his head round slightly at the whicker. Apparently in the dark he wasn't quite as easy to recognise and as a result the blustering female wasn't inclined towards impaling, whining or battering his ego just yet...no doubt the moment he replied she would though.
"Nightfall is one of the more desirable times to sit and reflect upon the days events." He replied simply, his tone flat as he turned his head briefly to take in the very delicate sparkle of the mare's wings in the moonlight, they were perhaps her most recognisable feature.
"It is good to know you navigated your way outside the forest, Lady Selene." He added politely and then calmly swung his head back round, turning his gaze upwards as though he was more concerned with his own thoughts than with bickering with a young mare scarcely out of adolescence.
Selene blinked. The voice was familiar, but really... She tilted her head, trying to place it.
Ah, there it was, in the 'Lady Selene'. "Well hello, Paramekia." she greeted, lowering herself to the sand just out of nosing reach. "Yes, I spent several hours in hiding there before I was discovered." she said blandly, politely. She didn't attempt to provoke any conversation, merely bending her head to pull several strands of seaweed from her dripping mane and tail, making a face at the granules of sand that found their way into her mouth.
"Mmph, it would have been suitably easier to follow me, I was out within a few moments and I encountered no one in the process." He replied calmly, keeping his gaze turned away from the mare as it only seemed to aggrivate every single female that he had come across as of late, gazing at them got them angry...it was really quite odd, he aw certain he didn't have hypnotic eyes.
In fact, so many mares had snapped at him as of late that it was the precise reason for him coming to the beach to relax as he had been aware of the fact that very few Soquili ever came here - at least here he couldn't be snapped at by females for the time being (thus he had time to think) and as of late, he hadn't encountered any stallions so he couldn't even claim that they were considerably more understanding.
"Nevertheless, we each have our own preferences...hiding from things which irritate me is not one of my strong points." He added, almost as though he was unaware of any negative feeling or upset he might have caused to the young mare in their previous meeting. Sometimes he could actually be terribly dense as she wasn't the first to storm off on him, the red mare at his teepee often did the same thing.
...Right after calling him a narcissistic prat.
"Easier is boring. Besides, I was angry at you, and not inclined to wish to do more involving you than cause you physical harm. And that, unfortunately, is a bit farther than I was willing to sink for the likes of you." The look she gave him was supreme.
She sighed, rolling in the sand, getting the granules all over her mane and coat, uncaring of her appearance, ignoring the angry little grumbles of one corner of her brain. After all, the stallion had insulted her several times in their last meeting, so why should she desire to make herself appealing for him? At the same time, however, she should be showing off her best, shouldn't she? To make the stallion less inclined to be insulting?
Oh, the dilemma!
"Hiding." she repeated, pondering. "I am not one to hide from things that frighten me. I prefer to face them. Things that annoy me, and I feel I can avoid without any extreme consequences, I will. Run, Hide, stay far far away from." she shrugged one shoulder. "Just because, why face stress now when you can put it off to later with no major consequences?"
"Sometimes physical harm is the more mature manner in which to deal with things, childish and repetitive insults simplt demonstrate a lack of intelligence." Glancing round briefly a she rolled in the sand. For one who enjoyed looking her best she seemed perfectly content to make herself look less than approachable - ah well, if a foal happened to encounter her then they could call her the sand woman, no?
"And hiding and delaying that which annoys you can often be used in an accusation of cowardice. If something irritates you then dealing with it head on, as quickly as possible often silences it much faster." Giving a slight 'huff' of warm breath from his muzzle he averted his gaze once more and turned it towards the horizon and the constellations above.
Perhaps this was the best way to approach females such as this one. Treating her as though she was a child, speaking to her as though she was one and avoiding any manner of contact other than to shift his head on the rare occasion to address her was much more effecient than keeping eye contact with her, it simply provoked her and he was not in the mood for the ranting of a spoiled brat.
"As for what is easy, sometimes it is beneficial to follow the easiest path so that you are not held back for a long period of time. Especially if there are more difficult roads ahead."
Selene snorted. "Alright then. Physical harm it will be next time you choose to be an arrogant prat."
What was WITH this stallion anyways? She wasn't three, and looking for a teacher. For all that he wasn't treating her like some kind of.... broodmare in heat anymore, he was still treating her rather.... well, rudely. Or maybe she was just overly sensitive from their last meeting. The mare stood, shaking herself off in a small 'sandstorm'.
"While it may be beneficial to follow the easiest path, how does it make you grow? Yes, hard times may be ahead, but how can you predict them? Sometimes what looks like the easiest poath now, may turn out to have been the harder road in the end, you see."
"And yet all in all, by taking the easiest path you are still educated to some extent." Giving a small snort the stallion rose to his feet with surprising ease and moved away from the mare as she generated her own miniature sandstorm - he had never appreciated being completely covered in sand unless the situation was appropriate.
"As you said yourself, the easiest paths can sometimes become the hardest and the most difficult teach you valuable lessons in life." Raising a brow he turned around fully and gave a slight shudder to remove the sand from his garb. His brow remained raised and despite the soft, musical chime coming from his head pieces he seemed completely unaware of them.
According to her stance she was still in the mood for a fight.
Bloody women.
"Regardless of the choices you make, you still grow and being able to take the easiest path sometimes indicates that you have learnt your lesson and will not make the same mistake twice...thus you will not take the same path, no?"
"To some extent." Selene agreed. "But taking the easy path, time after time, while not necessarily simple.. won't it be... dull? How can one appreciate the simple, if they can't also learn to appreciate the challenge. The hunt." She whipped her head around and pranced sideways across the beach. "What are those silly words I heard a two-legger say once... 'I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance.'"
She smiled. Now this was something she understood. Confrontational, but none of that stupid smooth-velvet touchy-feely nonsense.
Good, old-fashioned conversation.
"Dull is sometimes better than placing yourself in circumstances that almost guarantee your complete destruction." He wasn't impressed by her rather lateral way of thinking and after a few moments of her insistance that she was right in her decision to make her life difficult he simply shook his head - this mare was not one that brought him any satisfaction whatsoever.
"To consider the easier path dull is also the view of a fool, you can see a great deal on the easier path, there are often greater lessons hidden within as well..." He lowered his brow and simply allowed his amber gaze to follow the mare across the shore. Her 'prancing' simply reminded him that she was just a foal and nothing more than that - pity really.
"And I assure you, you can still dance with fervour on the easier path. Speaking from experience I know that very well." He purred, a cruel glint passing through his eyes as his expression hardened. Yes, he knew it well and yet few realised it...or believed him.
Selene shook her head. "I'm not a complete idiot. We're talking difficult, not DOOMSDAY. At least, I am. A little struggle doesn't hurt, but I am hardly on my way out to go try and play tag with a pack of wolves. I just want to find my own way out of the woods."
"While running from the sound of another stallion's voice due to his insistance on plaguing you about matters of fashion." Paramekia could not keep the rather cynical tone from his voice, so blunt and probably what the mare would have considered rude. "I find this to be a tad amusing when you gladly accepted my aid to keep you out of sight the last time when taking the difficult path, as you put it, would have involved being found by him and perhaps even tortured."
Releasing a chuckle the stallion simply shook his head, the ornaments in his hair emanating with a soft chime. They were music to his ears but often 'foreign' to those who were unused to his company.
"Nevertheless, it does appear that you have successfully navigated your way outside of the forests even if it was via the longest route possible and probably not the most desirable." Lifting a brow he examined the mare's figure once more, in this light she seemed to twinkle - how odd.
"Perhaps you did learn a valuable lesson that day."
Selene grinned. "Well now, HE is worth taking the long route to avoid. I have to live with him, so every moment I spend hiding from him is desirable." she tilted her head, fluttering her wings to try and shake the last droplets of water from them.
The chimes made her head swivel. This was the first time she had actually noticed that he twinkled. "You make music!" she said, surprised.
The eyebrow that had been lowered promptly shot up again at her incredulous expression and without meaning to, he shifted his head once more and caused another musical chime to ripple out from the peculiar golden rings upon his head. Needless to say, he'd grown so accustomed to them that he was otherwise unaware of them but this...well, it wasn't the first time and he was incredibly amused by the reaction he had received both times.
They'd said the same thing!
"Apparently I do." Again his tone was flat, a little at a loss for words at her sudden change in manner. Now she seemed almost childish due to her surprise but what hostility there was had also evaporated. Was this the spirits' ways of telling him that all he needed to do was shake his head like a disturbed heathen and he would automatically charm mares?
...He made a mental note. Occasional head jerking, although uncomfortable, could prove useful in the future.
"You have never heard it before?" He continued, although his tone had returned to it's normal, sultry one. Scarcely above a whisper it may have been difficult to hear had the waves been any stronger but at present, they weren't.
Selene's ears shot back. "Don't do that." she grumbled. That stupid, smooth, sultry, YUCKY tone! "I don't like it." she explained. "Your voice. Bleh." She looked at him, helpless to know what difference there was in his voice other than apparent lack of... hostilitity?
Was she masochistic enough to only like a stallion when he was being cruel to her?
"And no, I never heard the music before. It's pretty."
If the brow could have raised higher, it would have. Her demand that he stop talking in such a manner amused him as that was the way he talked normally and he would struggle if forced to place a merry tone in his voice or if he was ordered to raise it above a level that bordered on a whisper - it was simply not within him to speak in another manner.
Aha! So perhaps that was what riled up the females so much in this valley. They hated his voice, how very superficial of them to attack him for such a small thing - it really did a lot to decrease their desirability to him. When in his own herd they had simply said that it was a voice that brimmed with confidence but here...
"Am I to assume that you would rather I shook my head like a demented and troubled beast as opposed to speaking?" The stallion enquired coolly, although his voice maintained the low level, "If so I think that mayhaps you will be disappointed." He pointed out in a rather matter-of-fact tone. Under no circumstances was he going to change how he sounded just because someone didn't like it.
...That would be like telling her to rip her wings off.
She snorted. "It's ridiculous. The voice is just... ridiculous! It's all..." she cleared her throat, making her voice the truest approximation of his as she could. "It's all like this. Hi, I am mister smooth and sensual, and I am plotting how to have my wicked way with you while looking down on you for having thoughts, and opinions, and a personality that clashes with mine."
She took a deep breath, clearnig her throat out again. "It's just a yucky voice. Now mine, mine I know is yucky. It's high pitched, and kind of... loud... and I hate it, but at least I don't make it... smooth and sensual to try and hide it. I liked your voice better when you were talking to me, in a voice that didn't sound like you were thinkig of thirty other things while we were supposed to be discussing."
"I find it amusing that you would accuse me of 'making' my voice sound like it does. That would be as though I have accused you of sticking those translucent wings upon your back." He pointed out smoothly, his brow raising some more as her childish behaviour shone out. He was growing accustomed to that though, it was more of her sudden paranoia and insecurity that interested him - now surely he hadn't had that much of an impact so quickly?
"As I said before, Lady Selene, I have no inclination towards you. What ideas you may gain from the manner in which I talk are in your own mind and not in anyone else's." Pursing his lips he canted his head to the side, the rings on his head giving yet another small 'chime'. She truly was a child at heart and not yet fully mature, yet he was surprised that one with such a 'confident' front would allow herself to show weakness before someone she evidently abhorred.
"Do you always lack in so much self-esteem?" He enquired at last, remotely curious as to why she had let her barriers fall.
Selene snorted. "If you didn't make your voice sound like that, why does the other voice sound just as natural?" she pointed out. "You may have trained yourself to think it's natural, but what... if it's not? What if it's something you just trained yourself to speak in, when you are trying to be all bossy-like? It's the kind of voice I can see a leader that no one really likes but they pretend to so he doesn't kill them using."
Luckily, she was unaware of the fact he'd been a leader, or she would not have said that, really.
"And I wasn't suggesting you HAD an inclination towards me!" she snorted again, smashing a hoof down onto the sand. "Why do you persist in thinking I do?! I am making a generality! Have you heard of those?" She scrunched up her nose at the chime, trying not to let herself fall into the music- she loved music.
At his question though, the mare paused. "Self-esteem? I have plenty of that. I just don't hide my faults behind it. I have a squeaky voice, and I'm really horribly small, and I have a horrible coat color, and wings that, though they look stupid, are quite practical and fun, but... that's fine. There are things I love about myself that make up for it." Where was he going with this anyways?
"Someone who speaks of themselves in such a foul manner most certainly does not have self-esteem. In fact, their continual insistance that they have fault is a thinly veiled attempt to gain compliments from those around them as they find it may be the only way they can receive them." Pursing his lips thinly as she spoke of his voice in such a derogatory manner, he took the opportunity to release a small 'huff' of warm air from his nose and swivelled his ears round to take in the sounds away from them.
The irony of her comments in relation to leaders, or leadership qualities however did cause a someone malicious glint to slip through his eyes, one that revealed he did not approve of the way she approached such issues - in fact, one might say he could handle criticism but not when it was openly brutal and wasn't particularly constructive.
"I have always spoken like this, since I was a child. Although you are quite perceptive in relation to a few things, for one, my herd are completely aware that attempts to over throw me might very well result in their deaths." He pointed out cooly, his eyebrow raising somewhat as the cold glint returned. Perhaps if he put things into perspective for her, she would be aware of who she was talking to.
"And might I add, that anyone who continually mentions a 'lust' in another persons voice has formulated the idea in their head that the one in question is interested in them in such a manner. It is perfectly logical for me to therefore point out that I am not inclined towards you. Most would thank me for taking your feelings into consideration."
Selene snorted. "Well then, forgive me for commenting once on my own faults, milord. Obviously it means that I am so desirous of your praise, that I myself didn't know I wanted it! Oh please, good sir, shower me in compliments, so that I may feel at peace with myself." Selene raised her head and stared at Paramekia with liquid eyes. "I had no clue I was so simple, and so obviously desiring the compliments of such an otherworldly, and truly magnificent beast such as yourself, until you of all-knowing wisdom and glory informed me I was."
If one looked closely, they could almost see the hearts pouring from Selene's eyes, and pure adoration there.
It was a revelation, surely! SURELY!
So..... when could she stop doing this? She was making herself almost gag.
And there it was, once again the mare cracked and he could only lift a brow as she seemed to allow every sense of logic to escape from her lips. Wave after wave of what she must have assumed to be 'below the belt' insults reached his ears and yet, the most he did was shift his weight onto his other hindleg.
"Are you quite finished?" He enquired at last, as she seemed to stem her attempt at a verbal lashing. Needless to say, all she had served to do was to confirm to him that she was nothing more than a mare who had just breached adolescense - that might explain why she always failed in a battle of wits and why she might have been so incredibly blind to the truth.
"If so, then I shall point out only once more that commenting on your own faults is all well and good, but repeatedly doing so is another matter. To point out one's faults is to claim, for example, that one has an inability to express themselves in certain situations but they are currently attempting to deal with the issue." He narrowed his eyes to mere slits as his gaze became malicious, he was tired of her games and if she so desired to be brutally torn asunder then he would do it.
Perhaps then she would know her place.
"To point out one's faults is not to complain about one's appearance in the hope that someone will ease your own worries. I do agree with you though, your pelt is of the most appalling colour, your wings do nothing for your complexion and your mane is a tangled mess." His lips, though remaining tight and thin curled up into a cruel smirk.
"Your eyes lack the lustre of an desirable female, you are far too petite to even be considered to have potential and your personality leaves much to be desired." He shook his head and released a surprisingly chilling laugh as he shifted his weight once more and gave a toss of his mane, the musical 'chime' of his head dress more forboding than beckoning now.
"If I am entirely honest I fail to see what your saving grace is and I give you my word of honour that I have tried to see some spark of potential in you." His voice, although still low held a sharp brutality about it, almost callous in nature as though he truly had lost his patience.
"If anything you are a child and until you reach maturity and realise that there is more to life than your own physical appearance and material desires then you are going to be very lonely and very disappointed."
"The world does not revolve around you and your inability to show some manners." He pulled himself up to his full height and, at eighteen hands that was quite a height, from which he then gazed down upon the mare in the most degrading of manners. Up until this point he had kept his cool but everyone had to crack eventually.
"Are you satisfied now?"
Selene's head tilted. "I'm sorry, did you say something worth listening to?" she queried. "If so, I am sorry I missed it." She raised an eyebrow. "If indeed I cared whether you found me desirable, or even if you liked me, I would perhaps have tried to make myself more desirable. As it stands, I was here first, and though I first debated attempting courtesy, I soon realized what it was about you that made me feel like a raving b***h. So, if you desire to be near someone who is perhaps more desirable- leave and find one." she said simply. "I am myself, contradictory, ornery, and as brutal as your bludgeoning of my physical and mental traits was, it is your fault if you don't like it. If the clashing of our temperaments is too difficult for you to handle, then simply... avoid it. Didn't you say it was better to run from altercations than remain?"
The stallion simply chuckled at her rebuttle and raised a brow. She truly was a child and a worthless one at that, by far the most undesirable of all he had met, even the unicorn was considerably more approachable than this one and she had nearly stabbed him with her horn. Nevertheless, after a few moments he gazed at the mare in a derogatory manner and his chuckle quickly turned into a cold and almost malicious laugh.
"Oh my dear girl, how truly uneducated you are." The stallion continued to laugh as she ranted at him and once again took the bait! Had she any ounce of intelligence she would have dropped it. Nay, from what he could see this pathetic little welp was going to end up in an abusive relationship with a stallion who merely treated her as a piece of meat.
Would he provide sympathy?
Probably not, he would look forward to degrading her for her failure to listen to someone who was considerably more mature and experienced.
"I am going to level with you and for once in your life you should listen to someone older, more mature and more experienced than you." Clearing his throat the stallion caught his breath although the glint in his eyes was brighter and his dark smile was practically etched across his chiselled features.
"You do not have the status to dismiss someone, you lack the ability to gain respect from anyone to the point that you could even attempt to order as such. You were not here first, in fact you are entirely unaware of who may or may not have stepped upon these sands before you so you cannot claim them as yours and more importantly..." Drawing near the young mare he came within inches off her muzzle and snorted warm air across them almost threateningly.
"I run from nothing and I have already found my bride. I have no need to look, or no need to run for everything comes to or leaves my presence when it is required." Drawing himself to his full height once more which was considerable in comparison to the small 'flutter' soquili, he allowed himself another chuckle, "Nothing you can do will ever change that."
"Are we clear, or are you going to pretend you did not hear that as well?"
Selene raised an eyebrow. "Well, isn't someone nitpicky." she said mockingly. She drew herself up to his height, using her wings to flutter when she needed to, until they were nose to nose. "Alright then, try this. I don't give a damn about whatever dimwitted mare you managed to seduce. She'd have to be dimwitted to fall for your tricks, unless there is a personality under all that superiority. And sir, as I looked carefully over these beaches BEFORE I went for the water, that would mean you came here AFTER me, and as such? I'm staying here." She dropped down into the sand, continuing the roll she'd been planning for HOURS.
She wasn't going to let a superior brute with some sort of... complex... ruin her carefully planned evening.
Though the next phrase he uttered may have her 'petite' body ramming her horn through his belly.
"Mmm...I would encourage you to meet her then." The stallion replied coolly, curious as to how she might react the moment she encountered Ailurinnae. No doubt she would swallow her words and would once again be put in her place by the subtle panda-mare who wouldn't be so brutal with her words but would probably make the flutter feel incredibly stupid.
"Perhaps I shall coax her out of the forests, just for you and then I will encourage you to repeat what you have said to me in relation to her." He flashed a dark smile as she continued to roll about in the sand, shaking his head as the ornaments upon his horns began to jingle again, "It seems you have forgotten what I told you long ago about allowing people to know of your name." Swivelling his ears at the sounds around him he continued to gaze at the flutter thoughtfully.
"I sincerely doubt that many will appreciate your insults in relation to Ailurinnae...Especially if I repeat them word for word. I will not be the only one who considers you to be lacking in manners, nor will I be the only one to find you undesirable with a temper like that." He purred softly.
Selene raised an eyebrow. "Have at it." she hissed back. "I would be pleased to meet your mate, and see exactly what she sees in someone like you. And where in her mind she sees something... decent." She raised an eyebrow. "And as I said before, Paramekia, I treat my peers with the respect they are due. When she shows me her intelligence, I will believe them. As I do not know your mate, by appearance or by name, for now I choose to believe she is an ignorant mare you tricked into mating."
"I beg your pardon?" Paramekia seemed to be somewhat incredulous at her words and soon released a peel of laughter as she jumped to conclusions again. He had scarcely even touched his potential bride and here this filly was, assuming he had already seduced and had his way with her!
"My dear she is worth more than that. To seduce her would be an insult for which she stands for, you however, would be so low in standards that you would warrant such physical and emotional abuse." Having pointed this out, he shook his head and drooped his left ear lazily as though he had gained the little action from Yei Umeko herself - it really was quite an addictive move.
"I would give my life for Ailurinnae - one of such beauty and intelligence deserves it. Although I am sure, as pleasant as she is, she will try to see where the decency in your heart lies...regardless of how cruelly you have degraded her." Raising a brow he snorted onto her muzzle once more to indicate that he cared very little for her close proximity, it seemed he was very comfortable with himself and his own security.
"Only a coward and the dishonourable insult those who are not present to defend themselves."
He was certain though, if she insulted Ailurinnae any further she would find that she would experience his wrath in the form of an ivory horn to the neck or a rather unrestrained headbutt...
Selene's eyebrow raised. "I'm sure she is lovely. And it would be a pleasure to meet her, as I stated. So if she deems it, I can insult her to her face." She turned her head, pulling a strand of seaweed from her mane. "Now, I was about to go back into the water. If you care to join me, don't." she smiled sweetly and moved back for the water, splashing in quickly.
Something about this stallion made her blood boil in a way that was very ugly, and she hated it.
She hated him.
And if she ever saw him again, she'd gut him, most likely.
"Rest assured I have no desire to follow you." Placing a thin lipped smile on his features he gave a slight nod of his head and turned on his heel, releasing a chuckle as the splashing caught his ears - pathetic child, and she wondered why no male even took an interest in her.
"Harlots do not deserve such company." He added and with a jingle of the ornaments on his head-dress, he shifted his weight and calmly wandered away from the filly, ears swivelling forward as he sought out a more desirable location and suitably more pleasurable company...
If anything, he was rather look forward to watching the mare wallow in self-pity. Her attitude would be her very downfall.

InfinitiesOfSoules Selene moved through the darkness, staring up at the night sky. It always awed her, watching them swirl. She could remember, as a child, she had wondered where the stars went when they fell asleep. Tehya had snorted and tapped her on the nose, saying that they fell into the water and became seafoam. Selene hadn't believed her. Now though, she found herself wondering again. Shariea Virgo's silver hooves lightly stepped into the clear lake water, sending ripples out from his form. He sighed softly and looked out over the water. The mirror like surface of the water caused the moon and stars to dance as his ripple washed over them. A small smile pulled at the corners of his lips. He had been told that he himself had fallen from the sky when he was young, stories and oddities he had thought then.
His eyes looked down into the water, and the glittering form of his relfection stared back at him. Was that really true, he wondered now. With a sigh he closed his eyes, pushing those thoughs to the back of his mind. He drank deeply from the lake, the cold water surging through his belly.
As he lifted his head, he stilled his breath, for before him only a little bit away stood a mare whos slender form, and graceful wings, sparkled the essance of the sky. Just like him.... InfinitiesOfSoules Selene's attention was drawn by the lightest flicker of movement. She smiled warmly. "Hello." she greeted lightly. Another Soquili who sparkled like the night. "Come join me." she invited, seeking a little companionship. Her voice was wistful, but not commanding. Shariea Virgo tossed his mane from his eyes, the long silver locks floating down and caressing his sides as he moved forward. Tenative at first but he was glad to have a companion under the blanket of stars above. He smiled at her and dips his head into a bow. "Greetings." he said formally, smiling at her. "Im Virgo. " he said softly, she was so alike in color as he...yet she had a gracefullness, an etheral grace that seemed to drift like the moon upon the placid lake.
His tail flicked once and pooled behind him, like dew upon the grass below. "How are you doing this quiet eve?" he asked, in an attempt to take up some sort of converstation, he had yet to meet anyone on this strange island, and now that he had...he didnt quite know what to do with himself. InfinitiesOfSoules Selene bowed back politely. "Hello Virgo." she said softly, and stepped forward, trotting over to the stallion. "I am Selene." She smiled faintly. "It is a pleasure to meet you." She had not met another so like herself before. The stars... they must fall into stallions like him. She could swear she saw them swirling in his body. "I am doing well, thank you." she said finally, in answer to his query. "I was just enjoying the stars. They are so bright tonight. And so close, it is like one could stretch up their heads and touch one." Shariea Virgo nodded his head and smiled softly. His eyes drifted from her coat, so much like his. Dusted with stars and shimering galaxys across her moonlit fur. His cyan eyes finally came to rest on the sky itself, and with a somber nod of his head he replied. "It's a pleasure to meet you Selene... I wonder if it was nights like this when those like us came into the world. When the sky is just but a breath away from the earth..."
His silver mane got caught on the wind that brushed by him, a slender strand toyed about his dark fur before it fell and layed to rest like a stream of silver upon the sea of stars. InfinitiesOfSoules Selene smiled. "Maybe." she agreed softly. "I remember, as a child, when I'd never seen anyone else colored quite like me, I used to ask where the stars went. I decided finally, that they fell onto Earth and became waterfalls, and dripped down to earth to give life. Tehya said that they fell into the sea, and became seafoam. I had someone else tell me that they followed the sun, and that if we listened closely, they would tell us stories the next night of what they had seen during the day." She tilted her head. "But that never told me where I came from. It never answered my questions, why I was colored like them. It's... wonderful to see someone else who shares my coloring, and my curiosity." She'd always wanted to be colored differently. Maybe if she wasn't colored like she was, if she had been black, or white, or brown, or red... she would have been more welcomed. Even when talking to her daddy, she felt like there was something separating them, and she blamed it on the color of her fur. After all, otherwise, she looked just like her daddy. Shariea Virgo slowly nodded, her explinations all seemed plausable. "Maybe... Maybe its a mix of all of them." he said, turning his gaze to rest on her. "Maybe some of the stars get tired of resting in the sky and looking at the world from above, so they drop from the heavens and do as they please down here. Whether that be shimmering waterfalls, seafoam or healing life....or maybe even becoming us. " He said at length, his gaze once more shifting to look at the heavens.
"Like you... I dont know where I came from..only stories I was told is that I had fallen from the sky, on a night much like this. When the sky touched the earth and even the wind held its breath in anticipation. " A stooting star lit up the sky, fallowed by another one off to its right moments later. Virgo kept his silence, watching in awe as the stars lept from the sky to join the mother earth.
"...Maybe.. Just maybe its all true. Snippets of truth turned legend over time.." He smiled and looked again at Selene. "All I know for sure, is that Im so glad to have met you tonight... to know that I am not alone in the world, a part of the sky that dwells on the land. Although you seem more special than I... You have wings of translucent beauty, like the silver beams of the moon.. Perhaps you where gifted with them so that one day you may return to the sky..." he said, a question to himself more than her... his mind was so full of questions now, but his heart was full of glandess that he finally was not alone. InfinitiesOfSoules The mare thought about it for a long time. "Maybe they did. Or maybe we're just born lucky. Maybe we were just, you know... born to be nothing but reflections." she thought about it sometimes. She had no light of her own, no matter what she was told. Her very personality was a reflection of her companion's light. She shifted her weight, watching the starshower with her companion. "I didn't hear stories about where I came from. It was all very... unromantic. 'We found you in your basket. Yay.'" She made a face. "And it was a pleasure to have met you as well." she smiled at the stallion, genuinely pleased. Her wings went back, embarassed. "I think it would be fun to be able to go to a star. Are they hard? Are they soft? Do they truly glitter? Are they hot? Cold? So many questions, not enough time to even think of them all, much less ask them. Shariea Virgo didnt want to think that they where only relfections of the sky, though this was probably the truth. He liked to think that there was something more to it all. He smiled at her and lightly tilted his head, his silver mane swirling around his strong frame. "Well, whatever is the case... we are special, rare if you will. There arnt many of us that even Mimic or can reflect the sky on our coats."
Ever the optiomist he chuckled a bit and looked back up at the sky. Just what where stars. She had brought up a very interesting set of questions that only sent his mind racing. His voice was filled with wonder. "I dont know... I wonder... I hope one day I can find out...Maybe you, with your wings can visit them one day and tell me of them." he said, looking back at her with a grin. InfinitiesOfSoules She smiled. "I agree." she said softly. "We are very special." should she introduce this stallion to Ohanzee? The other stallion was her twin in appearance, well, almost. "I know another... like us." she said sinally, hesitantly. "He is a very... silent, stern sort, really. He doesn't talk much, but he's kindred." She was actually very curious now. How many of their kind -were- there? How many Soquili walked with the stars in their coat? She focused back on the stallion. "Maybe I will fly up there one day too!" she said archly, grinning. "Maybe I'll bring back starshine, and make the whole world sparkle." Shariea Virgo looked back at her and smiled. "I would like to meet him someday, for the longest time I had thought I was the only one... I have come to realize it was a silly notion.. but still its nice to meet others that share the blessings of the sky. "
He sighed whistfully at her thought, flying up to the sky and raining down stardust making the whole world shimmer. He chuckled softly and smiled again, his eyes sparkling with mirth. "ah, what a joy that would be. When I see the whole world sparkle with stardust I will know you have accomplished your dream." he said. InfinitiesOfSoules She grinned. "I'll introduce you to him soon." she promised, firmly. "And as for me bringing starshine to the world, well, that will require some careful planning, won't it?" Golden eyes stared up at the sky, wistfully. Someday... Freedom. Shariea The stallion smiled, his eyes glittering in the starlight nearly as much as his coat gleemed by the light of the silver moon. The pale light casscaded over them and only made Virgo feel more free, yet with that pang of longing to be up in the sky. He smiled never the less and nodded a few locks of silver hair coming to rest over his eyes. "I shall look forward to that meetings then. As for the stars... yes that will take some planning... But I have a feeling that if anyone can manage such a task it would be you. " InfinitiesOfSoules She glanced sidelong at the stallion. Silently grateful for such a simple comment. Could someone like her make it that far? It was really someone like this stallion who deserved to. But she couldn't give him her wings. Her own eyes glittered, her coat a muted shine next to his. But oddly, she couldn't be jealous of him. Shariea Virgo sighed softly as his gaze once again drifted to the sky. After a moment of silence he looked to his stary compaion and shook his head. "Im sorry, I must be boring you. " he said regretfully. "I often find I talk to much about things I am passionate about..." she nowed his head a bit, his silver locks brushing against the ground. "My appologies." InfinitiesOfSoules "Not at all." she said, surprised at herself. The stallion was pleasant. And he was speaking of something she had an interest in. "Just thinking it is a shame that I cannot help you more... I can't let you be the one to fly up and touch the stars." she could almost picture the look on this passionate stallion's face. He would be delighted, wouldn't he? Shariea "Ah such a thing I have dreamed of since I was a colt, but alas it was never ment to be. I will not curse the spirits for my lack of wings, I was created the way I am and I am thankful for that." he said with a smile, looking up at her again. "I do thank you for the thought though... " he added softly. "It is the thought that counts. " InfinitiesOfSoules The flutter smiled, almost sadly. "Of course." she said, and settled down on her belly on the grass, staring upwards. "I used to dream of a perfect worldd, where everyone was happy, and there weren't the differences that we see as adults. Everyone had wings, and a horn, and I could eat butterflies, just like my, well... not a role model exactly... The person who taught me to fly. He was a kalona, kindly to a foal. I realize not how hard it must have been. And then I got older, and realized I was different. I wasn't... like everyone else. I didn't look like my daddy, I didn't look like anyone I'd met as a foal. And I got curious, but it never got fixed. It stayed the same. I never met someone like me, until Ohanzee. And then you." She smiled. "Still different. I met one other 'flutter', a stallion... I met kalona, with horns... but never, ever, someone like me. And I curse the way I was created. Was I an abomination, to be left?" Shariea The stallion looked at her with an expression of sarrow. Hers was a sad story indeed, to grow up being differnt..being looked down upon by those around you. She was taken in by a Kalona? That in itself was something strange...perhaps kalona where not as heartless as the stories said.
Virgo lowered his gaze to look at her as she laid down on the soft bed of grass. "Selene.... You are perfect the way you are. And though I havent seen any others with both wings and a horn as you have....until I met you I thought I was the only one with the colors of the sky. Somewhere, under this blanket of starlight there are others like us, and others like you. You are blessed, with wings for flight and a horn for deffence...you a special whether you see that or not... I do." InfinitiesOfSoules She smiled. "You are sweet, Virgo." she murmured softly, and nosed at the stallion. "It is an honor to have met someone like you." She had heard rumor of others like her, winged and horned, but never met any winged and horned but for Calamity. Maybe... she should seek them out. She nodded her head. She would seek them out. Or try to. Shariea The stallion smiled at her, truely touched by her words. "It was a honor to meet you as well Selene. This is a night I wont soon forget. I hope that when we meet again, You can tell me a happier story. One in which you have finally met others like you." He gently nudged her back, a friendly gesture. InfinitiesOfSoules She smiled, tail twitching. "I hope so as well." she murmured. "I take my leave of you now, sir." She inclined her head. "Until we meet again." Shariea Virgo smiled and nodded his head. "Until we meet again Selene. Good night." He watched her walk away into the night before his gaze found its way to the sky once more as dusk began to fall upon the earth.

Shetan1992 Arro had been munching happily on some grass, his lips tugging at the tender shoots to pull them from their hold on the earth. He occasionally looked up, to make sure no one would approach him by surprise. Then he bent back down and continued to eat rather happily.
Of course, Arro was usually always happy.InfinitiesOfSoules Selene was off for a mid-morning flight when she saw a particularly delicious-looking patch of wildflowers. Oooh, yumm. She dove for the ground, wings snapping out as she landed so she landed almost soundlessly. "Hello!" she said cheerfully, from behind the stallion already there. "Lovely day, isn't it?" Shetan1992 Arro looked up from his lunch just in time to see her land. "Oh yes! It is a lovely day." he said cheerily, admiring her coat. "You look just like the night sky..." he said softly, then peering at her transluscent wings. "I've never seen a soquili quite like you before. You must be special!" he said happily, giving his head a shake. InfinitiesOfSoules Selene smiled. "Thank you." she said, inclining her head. "I like your coat as well. You look like the sea." she nodded, and bent her head to take a bite of flowers. Shetan1992 Arro chuckled lightly. "I do, don't I?" he bent down, and continued eating the grass, his eyes looking over to his new friend. "So what brings you around here, special mare?" InfinitiesOfSoules Selene smiled. "Just out for a walk." she said lightly. "It gets cooped up being around the same people all the time." Shetan1992 Arro nodded. "I know the feeling. Although lately my two legger has found herself setting up meetings with soquili I've never even met before. It's rather...odd." he smiled lightly. "What about you, Special Mare, does your two-legger make you do odd things? Or do you not have a two-legger?" he said kindly, flicking his braided tail lightly. InfinitiesOfSoules "I'm Selene." she said faintly. "And no, my two-legger doesn't make me do anything. I come and go as I wish, and she makes sure I have someplace to go if worst comes to worst." Shetan1992 Arro chuckled greatly. "My apologies, where did my manners go? My name is Cristallin Arrose, but you, Special Mare Selene, may call me Arro." he said, with a bow of his head, and pulling his right hoof towards him in a deep bow. InfinitiesOfSoules Selene smiled. "And you, Cristallin Arrose, may call me Selene." she said with a wink. The 'special mare' in front of her name made her head spin. She bowed back, mane sweeping the ground. Shetan1992 Arro smiled, but flicked his pierced ear lightly. He'd grown used to calling her Special Mare, and he predicted that in the future, he probably would end up calling her that again. By accident, of course.
"So, Selene, tell me a bit about yourself." He said with a smile. InfinitiesOfSoules Selene smiled back. "Well, ummm..." she frowned. "I don't know... What would you like to know about me, Arro? And what about yourself?" Shetan1992 Arro raised a brow. "Well, where did you come from? I've never seen you around here before, for one." he said softly with a nicker. InfinitiesOfSoules Selene bit her lip. "Well, I came from...." she pointed vaguely off into the woods. "That way, I guess. I was found by my two-legger as a basket, and she and my teepee-mate Tehya just sort of... gave me a place to stay, a warm body when I needed one, and made sure I knew where to find food." she smiled. "And where do you hail from, Arro?" Shetan1992 Arro smiled warmly. "My two-legger found me when I was a foal. I emerged from my basket alone near the sea. My parents and siblings were no where to be found. But I was found, and she gave me a place to stay. I'm glad she found me. I probably wouldn't have survived, seeing as I had no survival skills." he chuckled lightly, odd, considering how dreary the memory was. Laughing helped him feel better.... InfinitiesOfSoules Selene smiled faintly. "It's always good when you are helped along." she agreed, remembering the two stallions who had influenced her the most as a child- helped her the most. "Always good when you are given the tools you need to survive." Shetan1992 Arro chuckled. "And who is it that raised such a polite, young mare?" he asked calmly, nodding his head a bit. InfinitiesOfSoules Selene grinned. "My daddy is Rahu." she nodded. "He's not my biological father of course, but he raised me. He was the first parent figure I ever knew." she stretched a little then, neck extending until her nose touched the ground. Shetan1992 Arro raised a brow. "I wish I had a father...or even a mother." he said softly. "I was abandonned when I was just a basket." he flicked an ear. This was only what he thought. No one knew what happened to Arro's family...except for his family of course.
"Rahu's a good stallion. A bit tough on the outside...but good." InfinitiesOfSoules Selene smiled. "He is a good guy." she agreed. "He's... like an apple. Nasty on the outside, but incredinly sweet when you get under the skin." She was sad, listening to Arro's tale. "I'm sorry you never got to have parents..." her voice was soft, disappointed. "I know... my two-legger just happened to find me..." Shetan1992 "Apples...that's a good comparison, isn't it?" he chuckled, not fond of the bitter skin on apples either.
He shrugged his shoulders. "Yes, but it's best not to dwell on the past, eh?" InfinitiesOfSoules She grinned briefly. "Indeed." she agreed. "After all, if you dwell on it, you can't move past it. And I think that would be... boring." Being nice was incredibly draining, she was coming to realize. She -liked- other Soquili, but sometimes... they made her bitter. Especially when conversations went like this, bringing up all that buried, subconscious self-loathing and self-pity. Shetan1992 Arro furrowed his brow. "I best be going now. Do you think we'll meet again, Special Mare Selene?" InfinitiesOfSoules She smiled at him. "Of course. It was a pleasure to meet you, Cristallin Arrose." she extended her nose briefly. "I hope we shall meet again." With those words, and a leap, she took to the skies, vanishing into the sky.
