Well, my whole life I have always loved drawing and painting. I remeber, even when I was still in elementary school, I was always a little bit shy, so it was a bit harder to make friends, but every once in a while I would draw or paint something, someone would see it, and I gained praise and often received compliments as well as constructive criticism. To be honest, I liked the feeling because it would often make people happy or atleast impressed, and It would really boost my confidence. After I turned 13 I had already taken a couple art classes during school and started drawing anime, and apperently alot of people liked the drawings, and alot of people I didn't even know knew about then and were eager to see. I figured that if I could draw something and make somebody feel good, why not do it for a living? Now that I'm a sophmore I will start taking art classes again along with practicing constantly. It helped me come up with a dream and actually stick to it. Even when I felt like I completely hit rock bottom, and believe me, I've felt that way alot. It helped me cope with some stress that I had a hard time handeling. Not only that, but I was also able to make some incredible friends when in fact I wasn't popular or social. Infact, I was one of the people who never talked in the classroom. The point is, my talents help make others happy as well as making my confidence boost, and getting away from problems both in and out of school for even a small ammount of time.

Things that inspire me-
1- Staying up till three in the morning watching my brother play video games to the point where my brain goes to weird places. Get some great abstracts from that.
2- Doing half of an art piece then leaving it for a few months and coming back to it. The first concept usually gets throw out the window and it morphs into something even better than before!
3- different cultures and their traditions
4- pics out of magazines, the more random the better!
5- Nature, Nature, Nature!!!

Well that's a little list for ya! wink

I have a lot things that makes me 'brush-hungry'. But almost for 13 years my cat, Nancy, was one of my strongest source of inspirations. I could look at her hours and I never got bored. She was so bright, so strong willed, hottempered, curious... The list of her merits are endless.
I will always thankfull for what she gaves me.

If I'm writing my dreams! They're always so weird, but I try to understand what they actual mean and write about it. ^^ For my art I usually get from song lyrics. One of my favorites is Losing Control by This Providence. I don't know why it inspires me so much, but almost everytime I listen to it I get a different picture in my head.

Someone mentioned Mucha on Page 2! Art Nouveau FTW! It tends to inspire me., particularly because I love the way artists like Mucha depict hair.

Horses are a great inspiration to me. They have so many different shapes, expressions, body language tools, and personalities to them, I could spend hours at the barn just watching them. Since their facial structure is so different than a person's it's also different and fun to try to get different expressions captured from them: a simple alteration of an eye can turn a face from a confused whinny to an angry snarl. I love capturing them in motion, often making drawings from photos, then using them to mold it to suit my own horse "characters (I have over two dozen, many based on horses I know)." I also use these personalities in writing with the characters and have made many poems capturing the experiences of some of the horses I know that have been through a lot.

Good artwork by other artists inspires me, as does good music. Anything that emanates powerful emotion or a feeling of power or adrenaline...it gives me a real creative jolt (maybe that's why I love horses!). My fish, too: they're domesticated Betta splendens, and all five of them are different colors and shapes.

Life situations are great inspirations. I've made paintings for my mom for her birthday, Christmas, et cetera, because she always loves them. Most recently, I gave her a painting of our parakeet for her birthday; Bluebelle had passed away several weeks beforehand, and my mother missed her terribly.

Sadly I can;t be inspired by images to the same depths that I can be from music. Sitting in a dark room, closing my eyes and listening to song after song waiting for something to hit me, a picture, an idea, a flash of something grand....

Oh... and you get some messed up stuff from Tool/Mudvayne songs, just so ya know.... a forewarning in case anyone was gonna try this at home.
