She kept glaring at Christopher waiting for an answer, when he put a hand on his brothers head her stern look softened and she smiled. How she missed being with her family, or her makeshift family.
When he looked at her she said nothing and just waited for him to speak. As he told them to go into his duplex she was taken aback.' This guy want me to go into his duplex, I dont even know him!' She stepped back a little but then shook her head.'I have nothing to worry about, what's the worse that could happen?'
She then walked to his duplex and stepped inside looking around for somewhere to sit.

Being held in Chris' arms, Erik hoped and waited for his brother to say the magic words, and it was huge relief when he said them. A small smile spreading across his face, Erik quietly said, "Thank you."
When he let go of Chris, Erik bent down, picked up Chris' music box gently, and gave it to him.
Chris saying he had something to get off his chest made Erik a bit worried. If it made him freak out this bad, then it had to be terrible, but Erik told himself that after what just happened, he'd be able to handle it.
Grabbing another Ginger Ale out of Chris' mini-fridge, Erik sat in the chair next to Chris' bed. Smiling and blushing at what Chris said to him.

Christopher popped open the duplex door and closed it once his company was inside. He let out a moan of pleasure as the AC hit him. It was putting out the fiery sensation that was burning his skin. As his body was cooled down, Christopher took in a deep inhale and let it out a beat later.
'This is going to be a doozie,' he thought.
Christopher began his story. He explained near the end of the shoot of his movie, how Lyall (the wolf), Boon (one of the wolf caretakers), and himself had been near a patch of cliffs in the woods and had a tumble down them when they slipped up on some unstable ground. He told them how his leg had been broken, how Boon was killed in the fall, and how Lyall's ribs had punctured through her and how she cracked her skull. He then began to tell them how he took it upon himself to put Lyall out her misery by smashing her head in with a rock several times.
He made no eye contact as he told either one of them. He was too caught up in trying to bring himself to admit any of this darkness in his past. It was like he had been delivered a clean slate and had to conquer it all over again. Eventually he started to reach an end.
"I was found a week later... by that point I had flipped out entirely. I had gone feral in behavior and I was suffering from malnutrition. I was taken to the hospital once they were able to detain me. Then I was shipped off to a mental institution where I stayed for a year until I was deemed fit to be rehabilitated into society... with the exception of having to see a psychiatrist for 6 psychological evaluations, one at the end of each month..."
Christopher let out a huge sigh after he had finished. It felt like he had just climbed Mt. Everest. "I had come to terms with all this before but for some reason... since I've been here and have had my injections, it's been coming back to me like a tidal wave. Like I never came to terms with it."
Rubbing his face, he glanced between Erik and the girl. Realizing he hadn't asked her name, he spoke up, "How rude of me. I never did get your name. I'm Christopher by the way."

Katina's mouth dropped as he told his story, and she thought her life had been hard but this guy ad it real bad. He had to watch as one of his friends suffered then killed her, how horrible it must have been for him.
After he was done telling his story she stood and walked over to him and put her hand on his shoulder," I, am sorry I didn't know. I know I could never imagine your pain but I have been through some horrible time in my life." As she said this her eyes filled with sadness as she too, remembered her dark past. She sat back down and put her hand through her hair and felt her ears, still itchy. " My name, is Katina." She told them still scratching her ears.

As Chris told his story, Erik could only gawk in shock, unable to imagine the horror and sorrow of Chris' tale. When he was done, Erik could only stare at his brother, feeling so sorry for him having to go through all that hell. "Oh God..." trailing off, unable to think of anything else to say.
Noticing Katina scratching her ears, Erik asked her, "So, uh, Katina, do you know what you're turning into?"

Christopher shook his head at Katina and corrected her, "No, you were right to act the way you did. It helped me snap back. There's no reason to apologize. Otherwise I would have been wallowing in self-pity. Last thing I need to do is become an emo."
Christopher scoffed at that thought but snickered as well. Listening to the rest of what Katina had to say, he told her. "Well, if you want to get it off your chest, now's the time to do it. I mean, we do have kind of a group therapy going on now. By the way, a pleasure to meet you Katina."
Christopher motioned Erik over to the couch to sit with them. When Erik would get there, he'd wrap one of his arms around him and hold him close to his side.

She shook her head at the young boy," No I have no clue what I am turning into, but these ears are killing me." She scratched at them more." Oh by the way I didn't catch your name." She said still looking over to the boy.
She then looked back to Chris and nodded her head," Well, since you were nice enough to tell us about you I think its only fair." As she said that she looked to the ground.
She took a deep breath and began," When I was three my mother, was killed in a car accident and my father and I became very distant and depressed. He then began to drink so much he would come home and take his drunken rage out on me and my thing, leaving my with bruises and cuts. Shortly after a neighbor called CPS on my father and had me taken away, I had no clue what was happening but I thought I had done something wrong. Then when I was ten my father died of a heart attack so I was put into a permanent home, for two days I didn't eat sleep or talk because I blamed myself for my fathers death as well. After "finding out" that I was bisexual I told one of my "friends" whom told everyone else causing them to make fun of me and throw things at me when ever I was around.
By then I was immensely depressed had had started hurting myself, when a teacher found out she had me put into a psych ward where they put me onto meds." She was so embarrassed that she blushed and turned away from the, she couldn't believe she just told her whole life story to two strangers.

Sitting down next to Chris, Erik pulled his tail out of the way so he wouldn't sit on it, and it automatically curled up along his side.
Studying Katina's features, he was positive that she was turning into a dog as well. 'Heh, with a few more people, we'll have our own little pack.' he thought. As Chris and Katina chatted, Erik drifted off into his thoughts. One concern for the teen was wondering if he would have feral impulses like Chris did, he hoped that if he did, he would at least hurt nobody.
Out of things to think about (besides a few romantic daydreams) Erik's ears shot up, listening in on Katina.
"Oh, I'm Erik, Erik Attaway, and by the looks of things, you're turning into a dog too, welcome to the club!", he said.
'Does everybody have a troubled past?' he thought.
Hearing her talk about her problems at school, he said to her "I know how that feels, you tell somebody your deepest, darkest secrets, they say they won't tell, and then 5 minutes the whole school knows." Feeling sorry for her, he warmly said, "Don't worry, no one here's one of those judgemental a*****es."

Christopher, by an impulse, started scratching Erik behind the ears. It wasn't the way you'd do it to a dog though. He treated the manner like this was someone close to him. Plus, he had a feeling Erik might enjoy the sensation. Lord knew that Christopher loved it when his girlfriend from high school use to caress and scratch the scruff on his neck when he hadn't shaved for a while.
As he listened to Katina's past problems, he raised an eyebrow and inquired, "Are you sure that your not the one who can use some sympathy. If anything, you have had it a lot more rough than I have. That whole situation was only a small dent in my life. But you've had it pretty bad a lot of your life. I'm sorry but you my dear are need of a hug."
Christopher wrapped his other arm around Katina and pulled her close to him, trying his best to give her a warm hug with just one arm. "Well, look on the bright side... you'll have a fresh start here and like Erik said, you won't have to worry about us being judgmental bastards."
Noticing a faint scent when he had Katina close to him, he swore he could smell canine pheromones. He leaned toward Erik and whispered to him, "I think you're right. She has a scent about her... kind of a like an identification tag. It's canine for sure."
Suddenly, being surrounded by other canines, Christopher licked his lips as he felt an urge to go hunting. He cocked his head back to stare out the window... into the jungle and the woods.
"I don't know about you guys but I feel like going for a hunt," he fessed up out of nowhere, the urge growing.

Katina waved her hands," No no im fine, I have gotten over it,mostly." When Chris took her in a hug she blushed furiously and kept her hand just hanging limp. For a reason she cannot explain she took a deep breath and smiled, he had a scent that made her feel good, a warm feeling.
When the hug ended she smiled at his comment about no more judgmental bastards. Yet, when he leaned over to whisper to his brother she cocked her head in curiosity. Her stomach grumbled when he talked of a hunt and she looked at him with pure hunger in her eyes," A hunt sounds fantastic."

Erik's ears went flat when Chris started scratching him, his expression showed total relaxation, 'No wonder dogs like this so much.' he thought.
"Ah, so that's what that smell was." he whispered back into Chris' ear.
Erik's ears shot up and he formed a big, fang-exposing smile when his brother mentioned hunting. "You read my mind."

Christopher jumped up and did some stretches, some human in nature, others very canine in movement. He looked at the both of them and grinned back. "So, what are we waiting for?"
Scanning the ground, Christopher spotted his knife and picked it up. He placed it back in the sheath but unhooked it all from his shorts. Instead of holding onto it, he handed off the hunting knife to Erik. He told him, "I want you to have it for now. I think we'll be in less harm that way."
He smirked at his last comment and opened the door and motioned them outside. "Let's get a move on! We don't want to waste any time. It'll be dark out in a few hours."
Christopher shut the door behind him and asked them both, "So, what should we hunt for?"

Erik quickly took off his sandals, knowing that they would only get in the way.
Hesitating for a moment, Erik took the knife from Chris and place it in his pocket, "Don't worry I doubt we'll have to use this" he said, showing off his fangs and flexing his clawed hands.
Following Chris and Katina out the door, he answered his brother's question, "I was thinking of something challenging, like a deer."

When they got out side she too did some stretches to keep herself from getting too riled up. She looked at Erik and nodded," A deer sounds fantastic!" She didn't know what was going on but her body ached for the hunt, it ached to feel the excitement of a chase.

Christopher grinned when he looked to Erik, and said, "Yep! She's a canine indeed!"
Stopping for a moment though, Christopher pondered if there were even deer on the island. "Are you guys sure there are deer around here? I have yet to see one. Then again, I haven't been looking. Plus, I think we'll need a scent to go off of for this demanding of a hunt."
He took a moment to contemplate how to go about it but could only scratch his head as nothing came to him. At a loss, Chris asked the two of them, "Anyone know where we could find a deer hide or something so we have a basis for what we should be looking for?"
