"I understand and of course I'll have you. I wouldn't want it any other way."

An arm came up behind her, gently wrapping around her shoulders and pulling her close.

"That, dear Elle, would be impossible." He would have been content to stay there all day. But the weather never seemed to work in one's favor at times like this.

A soft rumble flowed from the distance, a few snaps of light in the sky and a tang of ozone. Lonan sat up a bit straighter, paying a bit closer attention to the atmosphere.

"Remember what I said about 'unless the cloud's bottom gives out? I think it's about to." He started hurriedly putting what they'd gathered into his satchel, tossing what fruit couldn't be finished near a burrow for the animals to eat.

Chuckling slightly he helped her throw everything in the cloak. Slinging the satchel so it was at his back he folded his wings up so they acted like and umbrella. Just in time too as it seemed the clouds were intent on opening that moment. The slight drizzel was rapidly gaining power.

"Think you can hold on to everything? The path is harder to track on the way back unless you're used to it and running back is a trick." It seemed that he wasn't that adverse to running at all. His footsteps were light and sure, missing stones and sticks in his path with the ease of a deer.

"Then pardon me!" Without further warning he bent down and scooped her up to lay in his arms, not missing a beat. Once he had a sure hold he picked up the pace. Even with Elle's weight in his arms it didn't seem to hinder him at all, feet moving agily over the ground without fault.

The rushing of the stream came from up ahead but he didn't slow down. Rather he seemed to pick up his pace, measuring his steps. He hadn't bothered with the upstream detour. His wings fanned out behind him as he leapt over the rift, gliding over the space and landing with a slight thud on the other side. Still without too much faltering he found his feet again, making a dash for the small house just beyond the wood trail.

Lonan's breath was coming a bit fast from the run and the small glide. He was thankful that had gone as well as it did. He'd never tried that with a passenger before. Adrenaline is a wonderful thing.

He started slightly when he felt her lips press to his. In the next heartbeat he kissed her back, only pulling back when air became necessary. Thankfully under the small awning the rain was diverted, only letting the ground become wet. His face was flushed, hair plastered to his face and neck in straight locks as water trickled down. He had definately gotten the worse of the water.

Setting Elle down so that she wouldn't slip in the mud he opened the door. Before entering himself he shook the water from his hair and flapped his wings, challenging the rain with the spray they created. The end effect had him looking a bit like a beraggled sparrow with the mud that clung to his pants and feet and the water trickling from ruffled feathers. When he spoke he was a bit breathless. "I hope I didn't shock you too badly with that."

Elle seemed to have a knack for making that usually rare flicker-smile appear. "I'm glad you enjoyed that then."

Now that he'd stopped moving a slight chill was settling over him, making a shiver race up his spine. Usually he'd use the outside shower while staying here if only for convenience. Right now it was far too nippy for his tastes though. "That would be lovely, thank you."

Wrapping his wings around himself he started in, only to find a slight puddle on the tiled floor and get sent sprawling on his back. From where he lay he let the chock wear off before giving what could either have been a rueful laugh or a groan. "I think someone somewhere is trying to tell me something."

Rubbing his hands over his face he got back to his feet, stepping much more carefully this time.

He gave another small chuckle, moving very carefuly with set feet over tile. A whuff from under the bed gave away Sonata's location. He gave a soft grumb;ing, 'damned wolf' before stretching his back into place.

"I'm fine, only a bruised pride. And I think I'd better listen before I get another lesson. Are you alright?"

A feeling of mirth passed over from him despite the fact that his skin was chill and he was shivering slightly. Still the hand he offered was steady.

He gave her a slightly chagrinned expression for that. Not like he'd meant to get her well aquainted with his wing.

"Let's stay here. I have no desire to go back out in that deluge. I don't usually use the tub here but there is one. It'll just take a moment." There wasn't one visible in the bathroom for several reasons, it simply wasn't in there. The small linens closet tucked into the wall was opened and a set of catches released.

"Draconayzia has this penchant for hiding things. Makes trying to find lost objects a rather intense search." When the catches released a set of handles popped up. Grabbing them he lifted and the entire set of shelves containing towels and ben linens rose. Under them was a small clawfoot tub. Another set of catches released and doors swung out along the sides for easy access. It was an older model with a telephone style shower aparatus separate from the faucet and exposed piping.
