He spun around to see a woman talking to him. "Ummm..... Ahhhhhh........" He started blubbering. This wasn't going as planned. He didn't want his presence known and now a woman.... No, two women now as he noticed another one looking at him. "Ummm..... No, they haven't. Ahhhh..... I..... I believe they are just going now for the meeting." He said with a shy smile as he rubbed the back of his head with his hand. He did not want to be in this situation and he wanted out badly. "I..... I'm sorry but I have stuff to do and little time to do it." He said before running off to below deck. He had to be more careful from now on. Going only to places where there wasn't any people and making sure that he was never seen again. He also had to find a way to the captain's cabin and eavesdrop on the conversation. As soon as he found a private spot, he would check a piece of paper that he had that had the map of the Seraphim. He could check the map and see what the best spot would be.

Tanyeera nodded politely to the griffin and carefully stepped, or rather bounced, around her tail feathers. She was aware of how ridiculous her peculiar gait made her look, but she couldn't help it. It was either stiffen her leg to stop herself short at each step to bounce upwards, or allow momentum to send her careening who knew where and through what.

She would be very happy when she could resume her normal size and stop this idiotic way of walking. How on earth did humans manage having only one leg at a time on the ground as they walked? Dragons, and quite a number of other species she could think of off-hand, had much stabler shapes than humans.

((Whew, alrighty. We have a COOK! and he's a dwarf, isn't that great?))

Rhiannon stepped behind the Captain, following him down the stairs and in the direction of his cabin. She reamined the entire time with her hands held stiffly at her sides, long braid swishing lightly across her back. Aggravating, that's what it was. Sometimes, she really just wanted to chop off the entire mass of red hair and be done with it.

Several thoughts entered her mind as they approached the door. The first, that there was a young woman with an extremely light step. This was odd because it made her bounce in a rather ridiculous manner, and the strangeness of her eyes did not help the peculiarity of it all. The second thought, was that the gryphon hesitated - stopping a considerable distance from the cabin door. She assumed that this was out of respect for seniority, but also caught the curious glance she gave the woman with purple and gold eyes

Next, that Rosette - that was her name, right? - was asking a cloaked man where they had gone, when in fact they were still coming. That, and she called them... blokes. And lastly, that she did not recognize the cloaked man.

After he made a hasty retreat - from what she didn't know - she followed Zeiser into the Quarters, presuming that the rest would enter. The Captain placed himself near the windows, and she stood on the other side of them. In the short moments before they all entered, Rhi found herself staring out the windows, watching the blue-green waters rush past the mighty bulk of the ship. She kept telling herself that here, in this room and over these waters, was where she belonged. Somehow, she wasn't sure if she believed that.

Brakus grumbled to himself as he moved through the slowly swaying kitchen, the pots and spoon wanging together in a loud shrill clanking that was beginning to annoy Brakus as he breathed hard on his pipe and watched as the smoke filtered from the small wooden bowl that was carved into the shape of a dragons head. He picked up a crate of apples and moved it to one side as it slide past him and he resumed his unsteady march towards a large crate of seasoning. He passed a window that overlooked the sea and he paused for a moment to open in and fill the stuff, steamy room with the pleasant sea air. He breathed it and snorted as he rummaged in the crate of spices, various aromas, some pleasing to the nose, others not so. After a moment, he found the type he wanted and retuned to a large cauldron that held some sort of stew. He sprinkled the spices into the pot and looked around for the wooden spoon to stir.

He cursed as he saw it only the floor and retrieved the spoon and flipped it nimbly through his fingers. The ship jerked momentarily and Brakus lost his balance and went tumbling backward to slam his head against a crate with a loud crash

“Confounded ocean!” He grumbled “How in Murian’s beard am I supposed to cook with this blumin ship shiften’ ever other minute.” Brakus sighed as he though longingly of the great dwarves halls and how easy it would to be cooking in the great kitchen of the King, which would be full of brew and meat and countless cakes. Brakus found himself licking his lips as he once again approached the edge of the cauldron and began to stir again. And as he stirred he began to hum. Not a great tune by the standards of the time but it was a fun, lively tune that his father had taught him to use to pass the time. So he stirred until the stew looked promising and he tasted it with a swift finger.

“Not bad if I say meself.” He smacked loudly and smiled at his first completed meal on a ship. “Could be a bit warmer but that can wait.” The ship rolled again and Brakus managed to catch himself just before he went tumbling into the crates again.

“That does it!” He said throwing his hands up. “I’m going up top to smoke and sit and keep my head from being split open by these stupid crates!.” And with that, Brakus marched his way towards the hatch to the top deck, his hands already filling the pipe bowl to the brim from his tobacco pouch at his side.

Tanyeera stood still and let the Captain and the Patroness pass by her into the room before she entered herself. She gently bounced along the wall to the nearest corner and gratefully stopped moving. From that vantage, she started to observe the two people so important to this journey.

The Captain was a rather plain human, a solid fellow she'd never have guessed was Captain of such a magnificent vessel had she not seen him addressing the men before.

The Patroness was a different matter entirely. She was quite beautiful for a human, and Tanyeera throughly approved of her warrior's garb and physique. Too many human females of highborn station were nothing more than pampered kittens, it was good to finally see one who actually had claws and capability.

She leaned against the wall in her corner as she considered them. She thought that if worse came to worse, they'd be sensible about things. They'd probably have the sense not to abuse the natives of a land with unknown resources and potential.

On the other hand, she was fairly certain that the Patroness at least, would be smart enough to look through most deceptions, and would not take kindly to having her route to certain treasures and secrets blocked.

The only way, Tanyeera concluded, to stop such a woman from prying into things she should not, was not letting her hear of the things in the first place. The Patroness was here for treasure and raw materials. Perhaps if they waved some of the more harmless treasures and led her to find some of the less exotic, but still useful resources, she'd think that was all there was to the land and sail off with such a report to the Emperor.

"Bah, thanks anyway." Rosette said, giving him a playful punch in the arm. "You seem up tight, relax, ots not as if we're going into battle. Maybe We all can have a drink later. A ship as lavish as this undoubtedly as some fine drinks." She added with a smile.

"Rosette!" Chrono called, catching his breath as he preached the top of the stairs. "Where have you been? The meetigs about to to start!"

"I had to fin it first! It's too important to leave lyin' around. I'm coming!" She breplied, following him backdown the staircase and towards their detined meeting room.

"How many people they got comin'?"

"Not many, I'm sure."

Disappointingly, her cloak ran off before she could try and catch him. Blast. Well....well, well....now that she had a better idea of what she should be looking for, Siduri could just keep the hunting task in mind for later. Now, she did not want that meeting to begin without her. And she knew that they would not wait for her; no one ever did after all. Making haste, her skirts floated in her wake as she briskly progressed towards the designated conference room. A couple of deckhands sluggishly passed her as she glided, whom met with a cold and piercing squint for having the gaul to get in her way. But there was no time for them. Upon reaching the Captain's door, she entered with awestruck and envy for the quality of his quarters. Expanse, neat, and a beautiful view....while, true, the oceans could easily be seen from the top deck, but not at a close and sheltered angle. Stepping to the side to allow space for other entries, the gypsy crossed her hands behind her back while covertly bouncing her eyes from one occupant of the room to the next. Most of them appeared to be here, yet vacant at the same time. She knew that feeling, but what most occupied her fancies at the moment was a coy little notion. If she had tricked her way into claiming Captainship with her invitation, she could have enjoyed the luxuries (and privacy!) of this chamber very well....

[Oops, I'd better post, too. sweatdrop Glad to have a cook onboard, never roleplayed with a dwarf-cook before, so this'll be new.]

As Captain Zeiser came down to enter first, he had given a nod to Luft. This let her know that he would also be living by the basic rules as should the crew, but he was still the Captain. The black-haired woman also gave a nod to the female griffin and entered with a strange hopping motion that made the griffin tilt her head in curiosity as a bird might. With the Captain, Patroness and two women inside of the designated meeting area, the gray griffin decides that it would be a fair time to allow herself entry. Luft gives the doorway itself a brief glance and is thankful that she is not any larger. Lowering her head slightly and keeping her wings protectively tucked at her sides, the Seraphim's Gryphon Sentry member enters the Captain's Quarters. Captain Zeiser had chosen to stand rather than sit, the Patroness was gazing out a window, the strange eyed, bouncing human took her place in a corner and a rather shiny young human female observed the room.

This is when Luft spots the table and knows instantly that no gryphon can sit in a human chair. The bulk of gray feathers walks over, her large talons delicately raising from the floor and setting down in a relaxed manner. Reaching the table, Luft raises herself slightly on her hind talons with her wings slightly arched around her sides for balance, her feathered tail fanning to also aid her to keep from gravity's pull. Spreading her front talons, her 'arms' extend and grasp onto the top of the chair before her, pulling it away from the table and setting it to the side, out of the way. The griffin sets down on all fours with her wings and tail relaxing. If she had used her beak on the chair, it would've come across as rather rude and could've damaged the chair itself. Now standing near the table, Luft stares off straight in front of her as she waits for the rest of the crew to arrive, also for the Captain and, or Patroness, to speak.

((We’ll I make sure it’ll be an new experience you can enjoy.))

Brakus leaned against the railing on his thick arms as the open ocean stretched before him like a vast expanse of glittering jewels and he thought upon the great treasure halls of the Dwarves and the mighty riches they had within the vast underground cities of the mountains. He thought of fresh dwarf brew, aged in barrels for hundreds of years and most of all, he thought about how wonderful the land was because it never shifted on you.

Brakus turned his bored attention from the sea and jewels to his pipe and the smoke that was shimmering and dancing the wind that rustled his brown beard that was tucked neatly into his belt. He suck the spout of the pipe and tasted the warm smoke that tasted slightly of peppermint and barley and he pulled the pipe away from his mouth for a moment to send a smoke ring up onto the breeze. He watched the tiny halo drift for a bit and then collapsed into lose tendrils, as a gust of wind caught it and sent it into disarray. He smiled a bit, a funny thing to see on his face with that scruffy beard and all, but smile he did.

But the smile shifted into a muttering curse as the ship rolled slightly and he managed to put the tip of the pipe in his nose instead of his mouth, and he sputtered for a moment before clenching the pipe spout firmly in his teeth and holding it there with a vice grip. It was his favorite pipe, this was his favorite pipe weed that now smoked upward, and he would die before he saw either one of them lost to the sea. He grumbled for a bit, but soon enough let his mind wonder as he stair into the sea, the wind rustling his long hair.

((Oi, I feel like I'm neglecting everyone as Captain! I must work harder!! Perhaps getting on at an early hour would help... but anyways...))

Zeiser watched with calm anticipation as each person entered, and did his best to place a name with a face. Of course, he knew few at the time, but hoped to know them all. He was very good with names as well. In fact, Zeiser's memory was akin to a perfectionist's dream. He remembered the smallest, slightest details that usually made no difference. Images were easily imprinted in his mind, and he could recall a scene with great ease.

Pushing aside thoughts of himself though, He tallied the crew members entering, and gave an acknowledging nod to each. First was the Patroness, whom had followed him. Second was a woman that pranced around in a rather unusual fashion. Whether this was a disability or just habit he would be interested in finding out. Then it was the gypsy, whom he had seen board shortly after himself. After that was the Gryffon whom Zeiser had acknowledged outside the room. He nodded again anyways and watched as she placed herself before the table. She was the only one to do so, Zeiser aside, and even he stood. However, not all were present. "I believe we're two short," he commented. "Once they arrive, we'll begin."

((I suppose we can just assume that the First Mate is here and pretend he/she hears it all.))

(( First mate here! A little late but better then not showing up at all. XD))

Zara Hedgecroft knocked loudly on the door and entered before anyone could open the door for her.

Her dark red hair was braided tightly out of her face to reveal a suntanned woman in her early thirties. She wearing plain brown work clothes that accented her average build and height. Around her wrists were large gold bracelets that jingled musically every time she moved; every finger on both her hands had at least one gold ring, while each ear had a single gold hoop.

She bowed as dramatically as the small, crowded room would allow and extended a hand to the imposing woman standing next to her. "Sorry for my lateness, ma'am. I seemed to have, uh, packed a little heavy for the voyage across." She smiled innocently. "Well thankfully for me, some kindly gentlemen offered to take some of my 'lesser needed supplies' off my hands." she grinned happily, as one might look on a new born child, at the the rather full coin purse hanging at her waist.

'And if I keep selling like I just did I'll never have to worry about money again! Lucky I've got the rest hid well. Don't want it being found 'till I get the measure of this captain woman' She took a moment to scan the faces in the room. 'And who's the one standing there by the window. He don't seem like he's of much use' She stared momentarily at the boy who seemed to be about her age, with a slight disapproving look. Shaking it off, she introduced herself;

"I'll be your new first mate, Zara. And you would be captain...?" She looked expectantly up at the red haired woman beside her.

((Ahhh! I'm here, sorry I haven't posted earlier... waiting for people to enter. sweatdrop All we have to wait for is Shader-san, but we can go ahead and start, and let her come in.))

As each one filed in, Rhiannon did not look up. She was collecting her thoughts, trying to calm herself. This was, essentially, the first time she was a member of such a voyage of importance. Yes, she had been aboard others, small trips accompanied by an escort. Now, though, she could hardly fathom why her father would send her now... on this of all journies. A journey that could determine the future of their kingdom.

She was not afraid, not really. She had trained long and hard for many years, becoming a remarkable warrior in her own right. The twin axes at her sides were evidence of the skill she had worked so diligently at. Thinking of this, she lifted her head and turned to look at the congregating crew. She was stronger than this.

One of the last the come in, the First Mate as she introduced herself. She apologized, to Rhiannon and not the Captain no less. She wasn't surprised by her assumption.

"I welcome you to The Seraphim, First Mate Zara. Though I'm afraid you have chosen the wrong Captain. I am the Patroness of this voyage, he," she said, gesturing to the man standing on the other end of the windows, "is Captain Zeiser whom you will be answering to during our journey."

She smiled wryly at the woman, and glanced fleetingly at Zeiser. He would have to brush up on the looks department, if he were to be distinguished from the rest of the crew. She turned her head from the woman, and shifted her gaze about the room. Well, she would have to begin. She did not raise her voice as loud as she normally would. The room was small enough, and the meeting private, that it was not reasonable.

"As you are all aware, we..."

((finish soon!))

After finding a safe place to use his map, he sat down and unscrolled the map. The map at first glance was just a plain piece of paper with nothing on it. But when he placed his finger on it, it appeared that ink was flowing from his finger to draw out the map. It showed the various aspects of the ship in different angles. He quickly found where he was and where the captain's quarters were. He soon traced the path he would take to get there. When he lifted his finger from the map, the ink dissappeared. Rolling up the map he placed it where it was before and headed out to his destination. Quickly finding himself below the captain's quarters for him to listen in. He placed his hand gently on the roof, closed his eyes, and began to concentrate. He searched the room briefly for anything he could use as eyes so that he could see into the room. He soon found a painting and when he opened his eyes, he could see into the room through the painting's eyes. This was quite tricky and involved his entire concentration. Which left his body vulnerable to discovery which he thought was a neccessary risk.
