Sunny took one look at the man and dug her face vigurously into Violet's dress. She wimpered a little as her tears started to slow down a bit.

"Yes, well," said Count Olaf, looking at the Baudelaires with a slight hint of disgust in his face. "I'm aware of how...er...hard this must be for you, but we don't have time for crying. I am a very busy man."

"I don't have time for baby talk either," said Olaf, with a frown, "now please come this way, there's no point in crying over spilt milk." This of course, is a very untrue statement. For if that milk was indeed the only remedy to a very dangerous disease that was wiping out your entire family, and it was the only bit of milk left on the planet, then there is indeed a reason to cry.

Olaf made his way over to an old broken down looking car. "Try not to dirty up the seats too much," he said. Although it was hardly necissary, I don't think that the Baudelaires would be able to make the seats dirtier than they already were.

Casting a wary glance at the car, Violet looked to her siblings, then sighed. She carried Sunny over to the car, and slid in. The bad feeling was growing more every moment.

Olaf quickly stepped on the gas and sped away, not even waiting to see if the children were settled yet. "I'm sure you will absolutely love your new home. We are going to have so much fun together," he said with a sly grin on his face.

As the car sped away, Violet nervously attempted to buckle herself and her siblings in, though it seemed there was something wrong with each seatbelt. Either it was broken, shredded or just didn't work. She sighed, hoping that this first impression wouldn't signify how life with their new guardian would be.
