The video is removed. o.o; Aw, and I never got to see it...

@ Se Ga Takai - Do you mean to say that cults are the blood drinking baby eaters, or occultists? Do note that LaVeyan Satanism is an occult religion, as is Wicca and several Neo-Pagan recon religions, many which don't practice much baby eating. So if it is the occult religions that you consider to be the crazies, I'm afraid I must beg to differ, as an occultist myself. (Despite my own insanity.)

Er...is it wrong for me to think that Satanists and Wiccans are weird? Because if it is, I'm sorry. sad
No, not at all... Lots of people think that. ^.~

You'd be in error, however, to think that either of them eats/makescandlesoutof/rapes/sacrifices/abuses/mutilates babies, kidnaps/kills/rapes/abuses/imprisons/sacrifices/mutilates virgins, kills/sacrifices/rapes/mutilates goats, etc etc etc.

o_O I thought they only did that in movies.
I can't provide a source for it, but I remember reading in "The Week" that a Catholic Monastary somewhere had been shut down for sacrificing Nuns and what not on a Pentagram in the lower level. It was awhile ago, can't remember much about it.

o___o!
that's crazy.

That's not crazy. That is disturbingly amusing. Can you say 'irony'?

...What the crap is a Pentagram doing in a Christian Monastery? xD;
Pentagrams are, to my knowledge, originally Christian/Judaic.

Quote:
According to Heather Child's Christian Symbols, Ancient and Modern[2], the pentagram is a symbol of the five senses. Also, when the letters S, A, L, V, and S are inscribed in the points, the pentagram is a symbol of health (Latin salūs).

The pentagram appears on the shield of Sir Gawain in the 14th Century poem, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. In the poem the five lines of the star are given multiple meanings: they represent the five senses, five fingers, the five wounds of Christ, the five joys that Mary had of Jesus (the Annunciation, the Nativity, the Resurrection, the Ascension and the Assumption), and the five virtues of knighthood which Gawain hopes to embody: frankness, fellowship, purity, courtesy and compassion.

Quote:
This particular symbolism has persisted for centuries, and has greatly influenced theologies of diverse traditions. Early Christians wore it as an emblem, possibly to represent the wounds of Christ, or possibly due to connections between early Christians and the Pythagorean mysteries.* Later, the pentacle was important to many doctrines of esoteric Medieval and Renaissance belief systems- alchemy, kabbalah, and Ceremonial magick.

Quote:
Christian Kabbalists of the renaissance were especially enamored of the pentagram, which they viewed as a mystical proof of the divinity of Christ - to them, it symbolized Christ as the Holy Spirit manifest in the flesh. A favorite gematric feat was to add the Hebrew letter Shin (symbolizing fire and the holy spirit of pentecost) to the Biblical four letter name of God (YHVH, most commonly [and incorrectly] pronounced 'Jehovah') yielding YHShVH- Y'heshua, or Jesus. (There is a secret biblical connection, as well, in the name of the Christian holiday of Pentecost- the day the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles of Jesus is one of many geometrical 'proofs' in the New Testament disguised as stories)

There are many connections between the pentagram and Christianity. Before the cross, it was a preferred emblem to adorn the jewelry and amulets of early Christians (followed by an 'x' or a phoenix). The pentagram was associated with the five wounds of Christ, and because it could be drawn in one continuous movement of the pen, the Alpha and the Omega as one. It was also an expression of a secret Gnostic heresy, found hidden here and there throughout Christian history- a symbol of Isis/Venus as the secret goddess, the female principle. The most notable instance of this symbolism is in the Arthurian Grail romances, which are Gnostic and kabbalistic teachings disguised as tales of knightly quests.

So, since that link in the OP was broken, is this what we were talking about? Because that is absolutely batshit insane. This is honestly absolute brainwash!! It's almost exactly identical to radical Islam! This s**t scares me!

I am going to see this on Saturday in Minneapolis. I'll give a full ******** critique on it after I see it.

I know this is a necro, but Takai and I have now seen "Jesus Camp." It's the scariest movie I've seen in a while.

Gods, yes. I would think it would scare many a sane Christian.

Worshipping to a cardboard Dubya = scarily insane.
Openly stating that you aim to brainwash children like radical Islamic sects do, just without any guns = also scarily insane.

You tube has removed it but acording to the posts its some people who are confused. And "God's Army" is not to fight people, but to fight devils. For God has limited himself to our prayers. Also God can't "smite people where they stand". That would go against His word saying the He loves everyone and gives all a scond chance, therefore making Him a lair. God is incapable of lying.
And yes, unfortunally lots of religions turn into cults. That's because the devil comes in and twists their thinking. You can't really distinguish which is which, but fiffty thousand rounds of ammunition would convince me.

Trista, I think you may need to take our word on this one--the people pictured in this film were twisting and perverting the very word of God and The message of grace and mercy that Jesus preached. It really was scary.
