"Ummm...Marshmallows only please....?" Kuno replied, "And I have another question....." he added almost silently, really hoping the other wouldn't hear him.

"Marshmellows, okay...." Shiyaa said, writing it down. He then looked at Kuno, a brow raised," What is it...?" He asked, wondering why he had tried to keep it quiet.

Shadi jumped at the sound of a voice from directly behin him. He turned around hastilly, face flushed from running. "Eh...?" He was painting slightly, having obviously run quite fast. He then nodded, his blue orbs flashing desperation. "Y-yes.... My... my backpack," he studdered through heavily falling breath. "It's missing..." His eyes seemed to plead with the other - almost as if Brice might somehow just happen to have the boy's pack. It was obvious that this item - or, rather, what was inside of it - was very important to him.

Ger didn't bother to reenter the shop. He smirked slightly and shouldered the boy's backpack, heading off back home. THe other would come to him, desperate, and he would give him the pack... eventually.

Times like this Brice wished he had a more observant eye. Of course he hadn't been in the shop long enough to notice that Shadi had even had a backpack in the first place.

"What so important? Does it have your homework for tomorrow in it?" Brice joked, though he did glance around, his eyes looking for any kind of backpack that could around. He didn't see much promise in finding this lost item.

"If it was so darn important kid, why'd you loose it in the first place?" chided Brice, and he felt like he was talking to his daughter for a moment, though the boy was no where near her age. He huffed, it was far too hot in here.

"Nevermind...I forgot what I wanted to ask...." Kuno replied with a small smile as he put his backpack on the table and put the poem inside it, pulling out a small leather bound book and a pen. He then began to write in the book as he continued to wait.

Shadi shook his head, failing to mention that he didn't even go to school. That would be sure to draw attention he did not wish directed towards himself. "No... it's just... very important to me..." he said, face flushed a delicate pink. How could this man make him feel so bad about something he hadn't done on purpose. He finally looked up, blue orbs connecting with the other's eyes. "It's just... I..." He looked away, searching for the right words. "I... I got pulled out of the shop rather quickly..." he murmured, a deep frown set in his lips and wrinkling across his brow. "I suppose I left it then, but... but it's not here any more..." He was obviously very ancious about his pack. He kept fidgitting and looking around nervously, as if expecting someone to jump out from the shadows and attack him now that he was without his words.

Cameron frowned. There was too much cheerfullness in the air for him to handle. He packed up his stuff (or lack thereof) and walked out of the shop, seeing if he could find a place to train as he had been falling behind on his magic practice schedule.

Komi hummed softly, he had no clue what it was but he hummed none the less. He was decked out in complete black, from his scarg and leather coat and gloves to the jeans and boots on his feet. He had an open black satchel over his shoulder loaded with boks he had just purchased from one of his favorite book stores, altough he had pressed against himself the most expensive of them all. It was an old leather bound book, the title faded away with several stones imbedded in the cover. He also had two notebooks with him, two of many that had been in his hands and never went without. He was still humming as he closed his eyes for a moment and then bumped into someone. Reacting quickly Komi opened his eyes to a red head with a CD player on him and began to apologize. "I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going."

After Kalen had taken his leave, Skyy had looked only at the pictures on the first couple pages of the newspaper before tossing it back to its original place. He hadn't actually been interested in it in the first place. It was almost just a natural reaction of his to want to keep the paper. After sitting idly for only another few minutes, he could no longer stand the increasing crowd. Instead, he grabbed his third drink for that evening, a simple hot chocolate, and went out the door into the cold. A cold breeze sent a shiver down his spine. Though most of the last snowfall had melted, it seemed to be colder than usual. He pulled his coat tighter around himself just before he heard the muffled tune of his cell phone ringing.

Digging it out of his pocket, Skyy answered with a 'Hm?' Jabbering on the other line went on as the dark-haired youth began to cross the street. The occasional 'Yes' or 'Uh-uh' sounded beneath his scarf. Maybe if he had been paying a little more attention, he would have noticed that the pedestrian crossing light was about to the change before his feet had even touched the street. And it being a late night in New York, everyone was in a hurry. The sound of screeching tires against a thin film of ice caused him to look up. A taxi sliding towards him was the only thing he saw..

Of course he tried to move, but it was far to late to get very far. The next thing he knew, he was rolling on top of the windshield. Once the taxi finally came to a stop, he lurched forward and right back to the cold pavement. He wasn't sure exactly if he was feeling pain or just numbness seering into his body.

Gervain turned, ebony locks sweeping against his brow at the sudden movement, at the sound of screeching tired. Some idiot hadn't looked at the light before trying to cross the street and had gotten himself hit. Out of pure instinct, his Necromantic senses quested out, examining the other. He was still alive. Damn. Fresh corpses were always the best and if he had animated this one quickly - he had a few spirits ready for such cases - he could make others beleive he was alive... and he could control the body. But perhaps he would die later... He would have to watch and wait - see if he could perhaps steal this man's life.

Cameron stopped in front of the graveyard. Why do I even bother? he asked himself. Sooner or later, I'm going to die, most likely from another mage. Why even train if Nothing special is going to happen? He frowned. In fact, why even live?

It hadn't been too long before Kalen had successfully hailed a taxi. He did it nearly every day... at least, in the winter he did. Who wanted to walk all the way to Greenwich Village in snow and ice? 'Roa...' he remembered the other's stupid love of cold vividly.

"9867 Christopher St. in Greenwich," he shortly informed the driver, climbing into the cab. They sped off rather quickly, but they were going to have to turn around and go west toward the Village. Things were going smoothly enough... until..

Kalen had been rummaging in his messenger bag for his house key when he felt the taxi catch on ice, the horn sound urgently, and heard the driver swear loudly. He was jerked into the side of the door by a swerve, and then the most sickening sound one can hear in a car met his ears... a two loud, consecutive thuds and the crack of windsheild glass. Horrified blue eyes looked through the window that divided him and the driver to see a body hit. The taxi jolted him forward in the sudden halt, and Kalen was frozen, horrified in the backseat. He couldn't fathom that they might have just killed someone. Within moments, he snapped out of it. The pyromancer snatched his cell phone out to dial 911 and and wrenched open the door of the taxi. He ran around the front of the car and dropped to his knees by the supine male. "Oh, God..." he murmured. A hat... the guy was wearing a hat... Kalen pulled off the newsie hat and leaned over Skyy. The fallen one... seemed to be breathing. He had left his scarf and hat in the car and his tied hair fell freely over shoulder. He took off a glove and brushed a few concealing locks away from Skyy's face. He was so shaken up that he did not recognize the boy. "Can you hear me? Are you all right?" He pressed his ear to the other's chest, but through all the layers, couldn't hear a heart beat. "Oh, no.. No, no. God..." he pulled his cell phone up to him and started to dial 911 with trembling fingers. His bare hand went to feel the other's cheek. He didn't want to pull the scarf up in case it would impede breathing, but... without it, that wind could chill.

Cameron looked behind him, wrenching himself out of his suicidal notions. Behind him he saw a body, sprawled on the ground in front of a taxi. Someone was leaning over the body, most likely calling 911. Cameron grinned. Fresh body he thought. This ones mine. I will not let him live. And with that, he walked over to the accident. "What happened?" he asked the boy.

Gervain was, of course, already at the scene. He was a fast walker and although Shadi's meesenger bag was quite heavy, he shouldered it easily. The man leaning over the body seemed to be in shock and was obviously unsure whether or not the person had survived. But Gervain, who always instinctively felt the balance between life and death, knew him to be alive. But perhaps he would be able to kill him without anyone noticing... Normal people were usually unable to see Necromantic magic - spirits were, after all, something one did not see with out practice. And then he could use that body... "Do you know if he's alive?" he asked the red-head, feigning innocence.

Everything was silent for what seemed to be forever. This couldn't possibly be what death felt like, Skyy thought. It was then he felt something probing at his very soul, almost beckoning death to overcome his senses. An unpleasant, evil feeling stirring inside him. He didn't want to give in.

The dark-haired boy then heard something. Distant at first, but became clearer with each moment. There was also a comfortably warm hand on his face, contrasting with the coolness around them. Slowly, everything began to fall back into reality. Along with that reality came a burning pain coarsing through him. He felt a warm liquid running down the side of is head and down his ear. He prayed it was just the hot chocolate he had been holding, but it felt far too thick to be something so innocent.

Skyy opened his eyes for a split second, only able to focus on the person above him before the streetlights began to give him a headache. That red hair.. It would be almost impossible to mistaken it for anyone else. He wanted to grin at the irony of the situation if he weren't in such pain. So was this some type of revenge against him for denying Kalen a newspaper? he wondered.
