I was just wondering, would anyone be able to help me with something. It's related to the story I'm typing up. I need to know if anyone knows anyone from japan or a manga related company that will like to look at my story?

Nephilim Blade Thanks yeah that martial info is a crap tank....... its because of it that I came here and asked ....hehe Well, that is the point of the thread. Fortunately we have an excellent "staff" for a bunch of questions. It certainly helped me. We're getting the "Seireikan" patches made up now. 3nodding

Bahvanta ok well I have a question : what is the most powerfull kick that you know confused It depends on where and how hard you kick but I would say the heal kick gives some good control and power. I would like to ask if anyone has heard about Pai Lum? I take Eagle Claw Kung Fu which is a hard style and I want to also take Pai Lum for a more soft style. So I guess I'm asking if anyone has heard of it and if they think it is good or not?

I have a place up here in Fort Collins called pai lum white dragon. Supposedly a family style. I went in and watched a few classes and talked to the instructor(s). I dunno, Personally I didn't like it. I only say that because their teaching methods are way alien to me. As for the style itself though I see alot of practical useage and alot of similar stuff that I practice... So I like the style, but didn't like the way they teach.

Bahvanta ok well I have a question : what is the most powerfull kick that you know confused It all in how you apply the kick. My strongest kick is my spinning back kick, but it's not very practical. Of the kicks I use regularly, my side kick is the strongest.

What about the teaching method did you not like? Most of the instructors came off like drill instructors. They had a class of 30 to 40 people practicing a rising leg heel kick to a side kick all night... the only time they did anything different was in the begining when they reviewed forms for like 2 minutes. Its just to repeatative for me. Also considering the fact that none of the students seemed to be getting the concept after 50 times doing the same move. kinda says something about the teaching..... The instructors never stopped them to actually explain the dynamics of the moves..... they just barked at them and had them do it over and over..... needless to say Im not going back...

Yep in terms of techniques the spinning back kick or maybe reverse turning kick (if you can do it properly, oh um spinning heel kick I think people might recognize it as?) are the most powerfull kicks but any spinning kicks lack a lot in practicality. My most powerful non spinning kick is probably my turning (round house) kick, it should be side kick but my technique is still a bit off in terms of sheer power sweatdrop something I'm trying to work on...

Yeah if the club starts out I would be trained by a friend of mine in a small class so I would get more personal attention. I do see what you mean with the whole drill instuctor routine but it is always better to know a few things well then a lot of things not so well. Thanks for the info Nephilim Blade.

my most powerful kick would have to be a butterfly kick or an inside kick. butterfly is good for distance and inside kick is good for up close.

DarklingGlory So whats a butterfly and an inside kick like then? I believe inside kick is another name for the outside-to-inside crescent kick. It used to be my "knock-out" shot.

"The most powerful kick is the one that hits."
Now that that's over and done with, I've found that nothing beats good, old fashioned sidekicks and front thrust kicks.
People in my dojo hated sparring me because of my kicking. If I twitched my front leg, they backed off. Then they got wise that it didn't hurt too bad because I'm a mosquito, and then I needed hand work...
On Ashida Kim: His website also involves him being a Jedi Knight. I think that speaks for itself, ya?
