Linany nodded as well, following beside Artemis. "Man, you walk fast.." She muttered, speeding up so she didn't get left behind. She looked forward and saw the cafeteria. 'I wonder if he knows when to turn... what if he didn't?' She thought to herself, and imagined him running into the way, in the most comical way possible. She giggled to herself, 'That'd be funny... I don't think he'd be to happy with it though." So as they neared the cafeteria, she rushed forward, and held the door open for Katherine and Artemis. "I got the door." She said softly.

Artemis was grateful as Linany opened the door. He felt the wind from the door as well as the hinges and knew he wasn't going to run into a wall. "Thank you," He muttered to her as he passed. He took a deep whiff and felt the near overflowing smell of all the cooked, uncooked meat, insects, and actual average food. The cafeteria always smelt good.

He nearly jumped at Katherine's question. "Um, no thank you. I'm fine," He said as kindly as he could to the younger woman. "Some lady walked me around and told me what each section is so I can figure it out," He explained. He then headed over to the Japanease section. The cafeteria was the type of buffet that they had the plastic labels engraved with the food that was below it and luckily the cooks weren't lazy and changed them with the food.

He heaped fried rice, teriyaki chicken and shrimp from that table before grabbing some garlic bread from another. Where to sit.... He headed over to where he knew the tables were, swinging his cane a little more in each step than average before feeling it bump into a table. Good. He sat down and waited if the girls joined him.

Katherine shrugged and blushed a bit in response to Artemis's explanation. Of course he would have already had an explanation...even the labs weren't that cruel.

For her own part, she decided on a caesar salad loaded with chicken on top. As of yet, she hadn't noticed any dietary changes, but then again, she hadn't had her second injection yet. At least, not that she knew of. After getting a bottle of water as well, she joined the other two, sitting down next to Linany.

"Yeah....they definitely have a lot. In a way, the labs owe it to us...tricking us and turning us into animals isn't very nice, so the least they can do is give us everything we could want," Katherine grumbled in response to Linany's comment. Almost every islander came to the conclusion that the extensive, elite lifestyle given to them by the labs was, really, owed to them.

Kat took a bite of her salad and shrugged. "Some kind of paradise, eh?"

Artemis took a bite of his chicken and swallowed before replying, "My brother forced me onto a cruise and I got 'shipwrecked'," His voice said all of the doubt that he had as to that. "And yes, I guess it could be considered exciting if you liked that sort of thing. 'I wonder if I'll wake up fully human tomorrow. Gee, that would be fantastic.'" He said a smidge sarcastically, "I'd prefer to come on my own pretense. And I haven't yet found out what I'm being turned into and I'm not sure I want to know."

Linany nodded, "I've thought about it, and I think it'd be cool to be something furry! With really soft fur... like a cat, or something." She nodded, smiling, and took another bite of her food. "Well..? What would you two like to be? And while we're on that topic, what wouldn't you like to be? I'd hate to be any sort of bug, or something.. they gross me out.." She shuddered. "Ugh.."

"Turning into a bug would definitely not be my top choice, either," Katherine added. "I'd just feel so...inhuman." She laughing after she said that. "Well, I mean, more so than if I turned into anything else. I think becoming something mammalian would be best in that respect," she said thoughtfully.

"Being an aquatic creature would also be pretty inconvenient. I've heard of several islanders who are becoming water-bound, which would really make things tough," she added, taking another bite of salad.

Artemis nodded, pretending he agreed. He honestly liked the way he was. So he couldn't see. He'd gotten over it. His hair also was funny looking but he always liked that. He liked being human, a respectable lawyer, a loving uncle, the one who told the stories around the fire and, every once in awhile, an object of a lesson. 'That's what happens when you go down an alley at night' or 'Go tell -him- your life sucks' that his cousins would say to their children quietly.

So he just sat there, eating his fried rice regularly while every once in awhile having a piece of shrimp or chicken.

"Nothing we can do to get away, I bet. I mean, they probably don't want news of this getting out... imagine what kind of chaos it'd bring. That is... if anyone believed you. I mean really... run up to someone, and say "I just escaped from a island where a crazy mad scientist is changing people into animals!"" Linany chuckled softly, "Sounds like some sort of bad movie, is what most people would probably thing. Or that you're crazy." SHe shrugged, "Besides, it'd be suicide without a boat, who knows how far it is to land. And I'm willing to bet that if they do have any boats, they're guarded by men with guns." She sighed, "So I'd say that escape is impossible."

After a moment of silence, she spoke again, "Besides... I was told this was a vacation, let's stop being so negative about everything, and enjoy ourselves. I mean, nothing weird has happened yet, so why not go swim in the ocean or something?"

'Why am I so positive all of a sudden...?' she thought to herself, after finishing her mini-speach, 'Normally I'm all.. boring. Oh well, it's probably the excitement. I'll probably calm down and be my normal boring self in a few days.'
