She nearly falls into Naruto's lap when she is pulled forward by her scarf. Thank goodness he had released her finger, for Rikku uses the now free hand to catch herself by clutching at the ninja's jacket collar. She moves eagerly into the kiss, heart pounding as her own lips are licked in return. Her purr grows as she shivers plesantly. A particularly sticky dab of marshmallow on Naruto's upper lip calls for her immediate attention & she draws the offending portion of lip between her own to suck the sugary mess off gently.
The Al Bhed was now of the mind that she liked these 's'mores' very much... and s'more kisses doubly so.

Naruto groans softly as he licks at her bottom lip, tasting some melted chocolate there. He lets her scarf go to wrap his arms around her waist, pulling her close. He really missed their kisses and when they held each other like this.

The thief whimpers at his soft groan. Rikku fully loses the ability to hold herself up as she is willingly drawn closer. She rests the hand that was on the log between them on the outer crease of his lap. Her legs seem to automatically adjust to the move until she is very nearly sitting in Naruto's lap. She pressed closer as she let go of the ninja's upper lip so her tongue could dart over to meet his.

Naruto darts his tongue over to flick against Rikku's, pressing her closer when she is almost in his lap. His heart is practically trying to pound right out of his chest as the usual warm feeling he gets around Rikku intensifies, his tail reaching around to wrap around her tail.

As warm and electric as she is feeling, the last thing Rikku would expect would be for her to shiver... but she does just that. Part of her still cognizant mind decides that it must be because she is cold -despite obvious arguments that could be made saying how that is highly unlikely on a summer day. Regardless, the thief shifts her hand around Naruto's jacket collar to unzip it & slide her arm inside while her tongue moves happily against his. The hand on his leg clenches lightly as Rikku snuggles closer, flicking their joined tails.

Naruto gets ready to pull her fully onto his lap until a pop from the fire sounds and a small spark hits his toe, causing him to pull away from the kiss and let out a yelp of pain, grabbing his foot to slip his sandal off and try to fan the pain away, some tears coming to his eyes.

At the movement Rikku lands on her derriere. "umph!"
She blinks a moment as her head comes down out of the euphoria she was in. "Ruto? You okay?" The female asks with voice full of concern. She watches his actions in mild bewilderment trying to assimilate what happened. "If your foot hurts... maybe the lake? Or I can go White Mage..."
Rikku tried to get a look at his foot, all the while wanting to wipe the tears from his eyes.

Naruto quickly stands up and heads to the lake, dipping his foot in. He was too embarrassed to say anything. 'How can I let something like that get to me! She must think I am a big, sissy, idiot now!' he berates himself, clenching his fists as he looks down at his reflection.

Rikku watches him go, her expression a mix of concern & confusion. Hopping to her feet she walks up behind the ninja, putting her arms around his waist & setting her chin on his shoulder. The thief looks down at his foot thoughtfully. "Is it helping?"
She has no idea of the thoughts in Naruto's head. Only caring concern in her voice for her best friend.

Naruto is quite surprised when she wrapped her arms around him and asked him if he was alright. He expected her to laugh at him and call him a wuss for getting so hyped up over a small spark. Putting his hands over her own, he looks out over the lake, watching the sun getting ready to set, "Yea, it's fine, doesn't really hurt anymore..." he whispers.

She gave him a brief squeeze. "I'm glad. I don't like it when you hurt."
Rikku liked standing there like that, holding him, his hands on hers. "It's going to be a pretty sunset, don't you think?"

Naruto leaned back onto Rikku slightly, a soft smile on his face as he nods, "Yea, it's gonna be real pretty with it being so nice and all! And we can stay up and look at the stars!" he whispers, the anger he felt at himself being replaced with peace.

The thief giggled into his neck. "That was the point, wasn't it?" Her face crinkled a bit with mirth. "I'm supposed to change to my new festival sphere for star-watching & other nighttime activities. Trel had me take out my Black Mage for it. Not that I mind really. I guess."
She was just apprehensive about not having the sphere handily available should she want it.

Naruto steps back and turns to look at her, "Really? That seems pretty cool!" But he seems to hear her uncertainty and reachs a hand out to hold her cheek, a soft smile on his face, "Don't worry, I'll protect you always Rikku. Nothing is going to happen to you, not while I am around." he says softly, and he leans down to kiss her, finding it right to do so.

She kissed him back tenderly. Naruto's words made her feel tingly & warm & ... safe all over. Rikku did not hold the kiss for long, just long enough. Then she buried her head into his shoulder, hugging him close. "Thanks Ruto." She murmured softly. "I'm so used to always taking care of myself..." She grinned sheepishly, almost shyly. Was this what it felt like for Yuna to have guardians? It was kinda nice. Really nice. "...Thanks."
Tilting her head a little Rikku made it so that she could watch the sunset without relinquishing her comfortable position.
