William took off his coat, and placed the SoR badge on top of the book, marking it a taken while he went to look for a few other books to help him fill in the blanks. He went to the head librarian, stoping when he saw Meghan.
Superior General Mitsumi, it's a pleasure to see you.
William smiled, bowing lightly.

Meghan quietly slid the key into her pocket, then picked up the card. Turning slowly, she raised an eyebrow at the Paladin-Acolyte standing behind her.
"Hello, William. Reading dangerous books again?" Her smile tightened again, showing a marked lack of amusement on her part.

Kyraa felt her eyes widen. William... knows Meghan. Well of course. I know her, but General? She pressed closely to the books, making sure that her breath would go unheard while listening to the... general's response. Dangerous books? A general... what in the world is going on?!

On the inside her remark cut him. He kept telling himself that as long as he was in human society, he had to obey human rules, and this human made the rules.
Not at all, merely reading up on a hobby of mine.
He really was trying to keep his tounge in check, but Kitsune society was quite different compared to human society, and it was sometimes hard to adjust.

Meghan's eyes suspiciously traversed the grey kitsune, as if by mere force of will she could make him fall in line.
"Well . . . be certain that you don't. There is much power in knowledge, and not all power is due to all people. After all, power corrupts." Her eyes glowed with a slightly fanatical light. "And we all know how the Society deals with corruption."
Suddenly twisting away from William, she lashed out with her hand, striking some books behind her and pushing them back through the open shelves. They tumbled out on the other side - falling on top of an errant eavesdropper.
"And you can come out now."

His superior's manner made the hair on his neck stand up, a age old reaction to fear among his race. He didn't know if he should be insulted at the insinuation, or ashamed that she felt he needed admonishing.
I'll be sure to bear that in mind, Madam General. He said, looking at the young woman his superior had revealed.

Ah-ahhhh.... All Kyraa could utter in a moment of pure fear. She saw me... oh dear Mod! Ahhh....Doing everything she could to regain composture, or at least close her mouth, she righted her glasses.
J-Just a moment, Ms. Mitsumi. I just need to stack these b-books back. It would be rude to just l-leave them for the librarian.
While stacking the books, Kyraa did everything she could not to cry. She'd never be trusted again, and be brandished as the Modist busybody! A solitary tear crept down her cheek. She even eavesdropped on her good friend William. He'll never forgive me.... Sniffing, she finished and righted herself, with a whimper.

William went at once to help his friend fix the books, fixing his superior in a stare as he walked over to Kyraa. He would be damned if he would let anyone embarass someone that was kind as Kyraa, be they Superior General or the Admin himself.
Here, let me help you up, Kyraa. It's alright, I'm not mad. he said, smiling slightly. As he helped his friend up he looked at his superior. his eyes were oassive, not showing any emotion.

Kyraa looked up
William? Oh, thank you!
Her cheeks blushed a bit as she put some of her weight on William to stand, and a small smile made it to her lips.

Meghan gazed at the teary-eyed Modist for a moment, then turned back to William, who had begun to help Kyraa with the books. The look of muted defiance in his eyes almost caused her to raise her eyebrow. Instead, she spoke softly to him.
"Just be careful. There is a lot of information in these old tomes, some of it real and much of it not. More than one apprentice or acolyte has stumbled across something he felt would be of use to the Church, only to find that their discovery has a fatal flaw - or worse, is a trap laid for the unwary." The Superior-General's green eyes drifted past him, a sudden pain shooting through them. "Sometimes even the best of us can be drawn into such traps." As quickly as the pain had appeared, it vanished. Her eyes met his once again. "So be cautious. You have much potential, William. You simply need to learn to . . . temper your enthusiasm somewhat."
Turning slightly, Meghan glared at Kyraa as the girl finished stacking the books back on the shelf. "And as for you, miss, you seem far too interested in other people's business than is naturally healthy." A wicked grin crossed the shadow saint's lips as she handed Kyraa a small card. (card: "Come to the Church Basement tonight at Midnight. Knock Twice to be granted Entrance.") "Why not put your . . . skills . . . to good use, hm? I'm sure Saint Cryllia would be pleased."
Still smiling, Meghan left the two young Modists and strode purposefully toward a locked door at the back of the library, her cape billowing behind her. Withdrawing a small key from an inside pocket, she unlocked the door and slipped inside without a backwards glance. The soft click as she closed the door behind her seemed to echo throughout the large library.

As Megahn left through the door, william exhaled through his nose, relief obvious on his face.
I thought for sure she was gonna bless me into oblivion he said, sitting in a overstuffed chair nearby.
William got up and retrieved his coat, and replaced the book on the shelf, taking his badge and replacing it on his coat. He then took the component list and after thinking about it, he ripped it into confetti, placing it in a bin nearby.
How are you, Kyraa, I'm sorry you were startled. he said, looking concerned for his friend.

Blinking, the girl accepted the card.
Ms. Cryllia would be please with my skills? Ah, thank you.
Kyraa's glasses lowered on the bridge of her nose as she watched the shadowy woman move. How in the world does she do that with her hair the nitwit wondered, before hearing William's question.
If I was startled it was my fault for being so nosy. Thank you for helping me with the books! Oh, and I'm quite alright.

She frowned slightly.
So soon? It's only.... ACK! I have a class in 15 minutes! Oh no... the Headmistess will not be happy, especially considering she can even catch those stupid guppies! Oh no oh no oh no!
The redhead waved to William, and did her best to not flash anyone while getting to class.
~~ Later that Day!!!~~
Geez... Madame Butterfly can be so annoying sometimes. My voice just doesn't go that low.
The student walked through to the romance section again, and picked up The Mod and I. Finding an empty table, she opened it and started to read.

Katane entered the building, feeling somewhat light hearted and amused. After all, she did own her own library, not to mention Gaia largest book club. But she did have a fetish for library cards. And besides, if she had learned one thing, it was that all libraries hide some new, interesting information. So she filled out the application and laid it on Cryllia's desk.
Name: Katane Age: 15 Address: None...... yet sweatdrop
